Thursday, December 31, 1959

sent Jerry letter & money
got letter from Stella

lite skiff of snow at 6: A.M. but sun came out all day & melted it. I came home & Ivard was home in bed. I went to bed until 9:30 then we got up & went & got Ivards check & pd. bills. droped Gene off at school to practice ball at 10: I wrote Jerry on way went to Caldwell & got Int. drawn up on all our savings accounts. got groc. & came back & got Gene at 1: came home & I went to bed & Ray got dinner.

Ivards day off & at 2:30 he got called out brakeing to Nyssa & had to met crew at 3: to drive over. Ray cleaned house & at 5:30 Kotters came & got him to stay all nite.

Gene did chores & I got books up.

At 7:30 I fixed Kids hambergers & cocoa & stuff for New Years Eve & we ate at 8:30 & I went to bed until time to go to work. Kay-Gene-Dean-Dale & Jackie watched T.V.

I went to work at 11:

Ivard earned $72. on his breaking trip.

Wednesday, December 30, 1959

got letter from Jerry

It started to snow at 6:45 A.M & there was an in or more when we came out to go home, wasn't slippery. stoped time we got home & not as much out this way. sun came out about 2:30.

I read paper & went to bed & Ivard took Gene in to basketball practice They came home at noon & woke me up they made so much noise. I stayed in bed until about 3: but never did get to sleep again. Ray defrosted ice box & freezer compartment. Rest of them watched T.V. & played games all day.

Ivard took Gene, Ray, & Dean in to church at 4:30 to settle up their titheing. They were all full tithe payers.

I worked on books until Gene went to do chores. Ray got supper for Kids & Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Tuesday, December 29, 1959

Gail came over & brought Gene home

I came home from work & Ivard was to work. I read paper & went to bed. Kids got me up at 12:30 & I got ready & went over to Barney's to relief society officers & teachers & visiting teachers party. came home at 4: & Gail Lynda & Kids were here, they brought Gene home.

Ivard got home about 4:30 & he got bumped he'll be back on 11: tomorrow nite.

I helped Ray cook supper & we ate & played games.

Kay got ready & went over to Adrian & took Claudia to High School to Xmas formal.

I went to bed at 8: & Gail left right after.

I went to work at 11:

Ivard was home with Kids.

Monday, December 28, 1959

got letter from Louie

I got up & made Ivards lunch & he left for work at 7:30 & I went back to bed. Ray gathered up all the cloths & canged all the beds & I sorted them & washed cloths all day. Ray milked this morning we played games & I worked on my books & threw away old bills.

We cooked a ham roast & had supper right after Ivard got home from work about 6: he had a flat tire & no spare.

I went to bed about 8: until time to go to work but never did get to sleep.

Ivard did chores & they played games. Louie wrote abotu Stellas wreck.

I went back to work tonite.

Sunday, December 27, 1959

Sara called

I got up & fixed Ivards lunch & he went to work at 7:30 & I went back to bed. Ray got up & milked & he went to Priesthood & sunday school with Barlows then he stayed in to Kotters & went to a priesthood meeting at Stake house. He went to church & Fireside after & never got home until 10: Dean went to Church at nite with Mrs Barlow to get some bars on his primary bandleau.

Sara called & said Stella, Jack & Aunt Esther were in wreck Xmas eve. Aunt Esther was killed outright & Jack died this morning. Stella isn't too bad.

I cooked supper & we ate when Ivard came. He did chores & we played games. went to bed early.

Saturday, December 26, 1959

I got up & made Ivards lunch & he went to work at 7:30 A.M. I went back to bed. Ray got up & milked. I got up at 10:30 & washed cloths all day. I washed my hair & played games with Kids. Ray cleaned up house & got supper.

We ate & Ivard did chores while I bathed & we got ready & went to Nampa to the Eagles Hall to the Simplot Union Dance. had a big crowd. lot of drinking in other room but we didn't go in. Paul & Mary were there. We had fun, my feet hurt time we came home, not used to high heels. We came home at midnight & Kids were up playing games.

Friday, December 25, 1959

Gene got up & milked & I put turkey on & Ivard took movies of all the presents & tree then we got Kids up & opened presents. Had a good Xmas. We played games & put a puzzle together.

Nice day.

Gail - Lynda & Kids came about 2: & opened their presents & gave us ours.

We ate about 4:, turkey sandwiches olives pickles, salad ect. fruit cocktail & fruit cake.

Ivards nite off.

Gene went home with Gail for few days, left at 5:.

Kay went over to Claudias then brought her over here about 10: I was already in bed asleep.

Ivard did chores & watched T.V. & played games with Kids. I don't feel good.

Thursday, December 24, 1959

Ivards day off. Gene did chores & we ate.

I wrapped presents & Ivard cleaned turkey then at 2: Ivard & I took Kay over to Claudias in Pick-up & we went on over to Ontario to G.&B. & got a desk for Gene & Ray & a ward robe for Jackie then we picked Kay up at 4: & came to Nampa & got Dean & Dales dresser & finished up our shopping. came home & Ray had work done & supper ready & we ate & they did chores & got to bed early. Then Ivard & I played Santa Clause & we were to bed by 10:30.

It rained hard all day & most of nite.

Wednesday, December 23, 1959

I came home from work & ate & read paper. We are off for next 5 nites. Ivard was to work. I went to bed until noon & Ray did up work then Kay Ray & I went to town & Ray did his Xmas shopping & I finished most of mine & Kay got Claudias present. We came home at dark & ate & Ivard wasn't home yet. He got home about 7:30 he'd been to Waldorf. We dashed back to town & got a paint brush & I went to bed & Ivard went down basement & painted Jackies cup board for Xmas

Gene did chores & killed turkey for Ivard to clean in the morning.

Kay went over to Claudias at 6: got home at midnite.

Tuesday, December 22, 1959

I came home from work & took little Kids to school. Ivard was to work. little Kids got out at 2: & Kay went & got them. Gene came home with Ivard at 4: & Ray came on bus, they don't go back until after New Years.

I went to bed after I read paper. got up when Kids came home & Kay tended Jackie.

We ate & they did chores & Ivard & Kay took Gene to ball game. got beat.

Me, Ray & little Kids went in to church to Xmas programe & Santa Clause. We got home at 9:45 & I laid down until time to go to work.

Monday, December 21, 1959

I came home from work & took Dean & Dale over to Grange hall to practice their Xmas programe then Kay & Jackie & I went to Nampa to bank & paid taxes then we went to Nyssa to take Gail a Xmas tree but they already had one. got some butter & stuff in Nyssa. It was late when we got home.

Ivard went & paid water bill after he got off work at 4: Ray got supper & I laid down awhile.

Ivard went after Gene at 7: & we passed them up at corner on way to school programe. Ivard brought Gene on home & got ready & came over to Grange hall. Ray & I took Kids early. Kay & Gene tended Jackie. I came home early & laid down a hr. before I went to work.

Sunday, December 20, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard was to work. I ate & went to bed. Gene had chores done & made hot cakes for Kids. None of them went to sunday school.

Sunny but cold wind.

I got up at 1:, Fuller brush guy came got books up.

Ray did dishes & cleaned Kitchen & I got supper. Ivard got home at 3: we ate at 4: then I got books up & Ivard & Kids put tree up after Ray changed everything around & cleaned good.

I helped little Kids wrap Xmas presents & I wrapped some.

Gene & Kay went to church with Max. I went to bed until time to go to work.

got pkg from Lyle

I came home in fog & nearly got hit. Ivard had doubled over on day job he got for 2 weeks. He came home & Gene took him back so he could use pick-up. I ate & went to bed & at 11: Gene got me up & we took 2 cows to Caldwell to sale. Came home and I got books up & got most of my Xmas cards ready to mail & at 3:30 Dean & I took them in & mailed them. Jim Peterson stoped me at red lite & said to pick Kay up at bus depot so I went & got Ivard then we got Kay & went to Caldwell & got check from cows & came back & got groc. & went to Kids place after Kays suit case but he wasn't home yet, Kay went in later. Came home & Ivard got supper & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ray went after Xmas tree with scouts at 8: A.M. Got home at 9:

got anniversary card from Jerry

I got up & cooked Kids breakfast & Ivard took little boys to school then we wrapped presents & got Lyle & mothers pkg. ready to mail & I went to town at noon to finish getting things for Jerrys pkg. then I went to relief society leadership meeting & social. came home & we wrapped Jerrys pkg.  & Dean, Dale Ivard & I went to town & mailed it & I took Dean & Dale to do their Xmas Shopping.

Gene & Ray had pick-up & came home right after school & Ray had supper ready when we got home. Gene had chores done & made the biscuits on meat pie. We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work & so did Ivard. I left at 11: & he went about 11:30.

Thursday, December 17, 1959

Silver Wedding Ann. Ivard gave me a diamond ring set.

I came home from work & Ivard was home, he took Kids to school & I went to bed awhile then I got up & Ivard gave me a diamond & wedding ring set. We got ready & went to Caldwell & got my laways out & bought some Xmas presents then we came back to Nampa & bought some more presents & got my robes for everyone out of laway. Got Dean & Dale some shoes. Got me a bra. Took rings in to make larger.

Ivard had hair cut & we got groc. & came home & fixed little Kids supper & Ivard & I went back to Nampa to Harmony Cafe & had supper, Shrimp. We were going to show but Gene & Ray didn't come home from school, game & practice, then they went to Mutual Xmas party. We came home & did chores & I laid off. We went to bed early. Ivards nite off.

Wednesday, December 16, 1959

I hurried home from work & got ready while Ivard took little boys to school then I went to Nampa & picked up Mrs. Kotter, Mavis & Mrs Newland & I drove to Boise to Dr. Cudmore for my check up. I only lost 1 lb but it made 11 lbs for month I lost 2 in. on hips, brought ladies home & went up town & got my medecine & a few presents Came home at 1: & went to bed Ivard washed some cloths. I went after little boys

Ray came home on bus & got supper. Ivard went in & got Gene from practice.

Ivards nite off but he floated to make up a day he missed. I went to work at 11:

Tuesday, December 15, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard was home in bed. I took Kids to school & ate & me & Jackie went to bed with Ivard. I got up at noon & read my relief society lesson over & got ready & went to relief society. I gave my lesson today.

Ivard & Jackie took me to relief society then they went to bank, Paid bills & went shopping. after relief society they picked me up & we went & bought Lyle & Gails $5. present & got groc. & came home.

Ray came home & got supper & I went to bed.

Gene took pick-up to school so he'd have a way home from Game at Vale, got beat.

Ivard took Ray to church practice. I started to take Ivard to work but we met Gene so he took him home & went in Pick-up.

Monday, December 14, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard was home in bed. I took Kids to school. Ray had all the beds changed & I sorted the cloths

They brought the washer home this morning. Cost $53. to fix. I washed 2 batches & hung out & wrote to mother & mailed it.

I went to bed at noon & Ivard got up & tended Jackie & washed cloths & dried in dryer. He went to work at 4: & I went & got Gene at 7:30 from practice.

Ray came home on bus & made beds & got supper. & we got cloths put away.

Ray went ward teaching with Max.

I got up & got Kids breakfast. Ivard came home & went to bed.

Gene - Ray- Dean & Dale went to priesthood, & sunday school.

I got dinner. I washed my hair.

I went to bed in afternoon. we were watching "Wizzard of Oz." & power went off for 2 hrs. it made it too late to go to church. It was 8: before they could milk.

Ray went to church with Max

We all went to bed early. Ivard & I went to work at 11:15.

Kay called

I cam home from work & went to bed with Ivard. Gene went & got him & he was asleep when I got home. I have tonite off & was only going to lay down a little while. It was 3: when I woke up. I wanted to go over to Gails but Ivard had to watch ball game on T.V. Ray had house cleaned & supper ready. We ate & Gene took pick-up & went to Nampa at 4: to go to Emmett & play ball.

I wrote to Lyle - Kay - Jerry & Louie & Ivard mailed them when he went to work. Kay called & wanted money to pay his rent. sent Ruth a birthday card & note.

Got birthday present & Xmas present from Mother.

I came home from work & Ivard was home & in bed. I ate & read paper & Jackie and I went to bed too. Ivard & Jackie got up at noon.

I got up at 3: when Gene got home & fixed supper & we ate & he went back to Nampa in pick-up to go to Mountain Home to play ball they got beat. Ray, Dean & Dale ate when they got home.

I went back to bed with Ivard after he did chores. Ray cleaned front room & changed everything around.

I took Ivard to work on my way to work. Gene got home at midnite.

Got letter from Mother & Jerry

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed I was so cold Ivard came to bed & got me warm.

I got up at 2:15 & Gail & Lynda came & we went to Caldwell & got milk check & got groc. & came home & I got supper & we ate when Kids came from Primary.

Ray went over to Smalls to go to Caldwell to play church ball. Gail & Gene took him over.

Gail & Gene went in to high school at 6: & Ivard milked then all the rest of us went in & watched Gene play then Gail went home. Parma beat them Gene made 5 points. Came home at 9: & went to bed until time to go to work.

Grinder guy came.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed. Ivard took little boys to school & tended Jackie. Ivard got Jackie to bed & he came to bed awhile. We got up at 3: & I started makeing pies. made 4 apple pies & 2 little ones & a pan of cinnamon rolls. Ivard went & got Kids & went to work at 4: floated, his day off.

Terrs came & got the washer to fix.

Ray came home on bus & made pea soup.

Tuesday, December 8, 1959

I came home from work & read paper & Ivard took little boys to school. I went to bed until 11:15 then I got ready & went to bank then went to relief society work day & Xmas programe. They were just eating when I got there had a good dinner then I made a poinsetta plant out of a 7 string set of Xmas lights.

Got Ray after school & he went & got his drivers licence & we came home & Ray milked & got supper & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivards day off. he had to go to an invistagation at 6: & brought Gene home from practice. They watched T.V.

Monday, December 7, 1959

sent mother letter.

I came home from work & read paper, ate & washed my bed & hung out. Ray had cloths gathered up & I sorted them & did a batch of blankets then I went to bed & Ivard washed 4 more batches & hung out.

Ivard went & got Kids & I cooked supper & we ate.

Terrys came out & fixed dryer cost $20.85. I dried another batch of cloths. & got cloths in & put away.

Ray milked & I went to bed until time to go to work. Ray went ward Teaching then went up to Max's to practice a play.

Ivard - Dean & Dale went to Parma to watch Gene play ball. Nampa won.

Sunday, December 6, 1959

I came home from work & went right to bed with Ivard. I was froze to death. Gene had to be to Priesthood at 9:30 so him & Ray went & Ivard & little Kids stayed home.

I got up at 3: & Gene had brought Popilton home & they were rabbit hunting. Ray had supper ready & we ate before they got back.

I wrote to mother & watched T.V.

Ivard & all the Kids went to church & Jackie & I went to church & Jackie & I went to bed.

I went to work at 11: & Ivard went at midnight.

I came home from work & Ivard was in bed & I went right to bed & I never got up until 3:30.

They plowed a little but it was nearly froze too much.

Gene fixed a fence.

Ivard left for work at 2:

Ray cleaned house & got supper & we ate at 4: Kids tried to start car to put gas in & it was dead Gene & Ray started it with tractor. I took Gene in to high school at 5: to go play their first ball game & went & had Don put a new battery cable on. Came home & got books up & read paper Ray milked. Went to bed & Gene called & I went & got him. They won by one point. Gene made a basket just as gun went off. He made 6 points. I went to work at 11:

I came home from work & went to bed & Ivard tended Jackie, at noon Jackie went to bed with me & Ivard plowed awhile. He had to be to work at 3:30.

Ray got home early & tended Kids & at 4: I went to Caldwell & took my 11 Gold Strike books & got some Xmas presents for Kids. Came back to high school at 5:20 to get Gene but he'd left. I went up town shopping & finally met up with Gene & he got all his Xmas shopping done. We got home at 9: & ate & he milked & I took Jackie & laid down an hr. then I went to work at 11:10.

I came home from work & ate & Jackie & I went to bed & Ivard plowed awhile then he came in & tended Jackie until time to go to work.

little Kids just got home from primary when Ray left for his first ball game at Stake house. He went to mutual after & came home with Max.

Wednesday, December 2, 1959

I came home from work & passed Ivard takeing little boys to school I hurried & got ready & went in to Taylors at 9:15 & we went to Boise to Dr. Cudmore.

My first 2 week check up & I lost 10 lbs.

Came home at 1: & ate & went to bed with Jackie awhile.

Ivard never did go to bed & he went & got Kids at 3:30 & went to work again.

I got books up.

Ray didn't come home on bus again.

I went to bed at 5:30 & got up at 6:45 & went & got Gene & Ray come just before I left. he'd been passing hand bills.

Mrs Bryson came over selling Xmas tree ornaments.

Jerry called, has been transfered to Santa Fe, New Mexico

I came home & Ivard took Kids to school & I ate & went to bed & Jackie, she don't feel good. Ivard went to town & Pd. Int. on place mortage & put money in bank then he tended Jackie & at 1: I got up & went to relief society. Went & pd. Hales & got some bread & Ivard had gone & got little boys & was out plowing till dark then he milked & went after Gene.

Ray stayed after school to pass hand bills for scouts & came home at 6:30 & brought Dickie Small & they ate & went back with Ivard to get Gene & went to church ball practice. Ivard & Gene came home & I fixed oyster soup & Ivard & I went to bed. Ivard went to work for 11: & I left at 11:

sent Mother & Jerry letter

I came home from work & Ray had cloths gathered up & I sorted them & washed 2 batches & hung out then we went to Nampa to get Ivards check but they didn't come on morning train. We borrowed money on car & refinance it & put it in bank. sent Jerrys money & letter & Mother. got groc & came home & did 4 more batches of cloths & Ivard plowed. Jackie & I went to bed awhile. At 6:15 we went in & got Ivards check & saw about his job. He got bumped & missed today. We had to waite until 8: for Gene & Ray was in passing hand bills & he was to school came home & I went to bed. Wally came over & settled up for beets.

Kay went back to Rexburg

Gene did chores & came in & got breakfast, cooked mush & made hot biscuits. Everyone else slept in. They ate about 10:30 & All the boys went to priesthood. Kay & Gene came home after & Ray & little boys came home after sunday school with Max. Dale had to give a 2 1/2 min. talk. Ivard & Jackie bathed for hr. or more then we got about a half cup pus out of her boil & put a wet pack on & she went to sleep. Ivard peeled potatoes & I cleaned up. Put a roast on this morning

We ate & I helped Kay pack & at 4:30 we took Kay to Nampa to met Bob & Gran & at 4:45 they left for Rexburg. We came home & watched T.V & at 7: Jackie & I went to bed & rest of them went to church.

I went back to work at 11: Ivards nite off.

Saturday, November 28, 1959

Gene did chores & I iorned while Ray got breakfast then at 11: we all went over to Gails but Gene & he had to go to basketball practice. Gail was working at Service Station in Nyssa. We stayed & let Jackie play with Debbie until 2: then we stoped & saw Gail a few min. & took Kids to Ontario to see Santa Clause while we went to G&B. Came home by Parma.

Sunny day.

Ivard started plowing (till dark) & I finished iorning while Ray got supper. Dean & Dale did dishes & Kay - Gene & Ray got ready & went over to Owyhee ward to their Gold & Green ball. Ivard & I played 2 games of Penochle & we watched T.V. me & Jackie went to bed at 9: then I sat on bed & watched another programe. Ivards nite off. Kids got home at 12:45. My last nite.

Friday, November 27, 1959

Gene did chores & made waffles. Ivard came home & went to bed and I dampened down a months iorning & Ray did up the work. I took Dean card selling half a day & he only sold 3 boxes. Got bit by a dog & we came home. Ivard had taken Gene to practice then floated on 3: job so Kay & I went in & got Gene

I iorned until about 10: & watched T.V. Kids watched T.V & were in bed when Ivard got home from work at 11:15 then he sat up & watched a programe.

Jackies boil hurts her but can't get it to a head.

Thursday, November 26, 1959

Got up & put Turkey on to cook & Gene did chores & made hot cakes & they ate & Ray did dishes & cleaned up then I made jello salad & cleaned celery, cooked yams & got dressing ready & peeled potatoes.

Ivard & Kids watched T.V.

I washed my hair & had a bath & Ivard, Ray & I played penochle.

Ivard cut Kay & Rays hair.

We ate Our Thanksgiving dinner at 3:30 & they watched a show then Ray did dishes. I got books up.

Gail said he would be over but didn't come.

Ivard got his job cut off & at 5: we rode in to see about his jo. He floats on 12:

At 5:30 Kay got ready & went & got Claudia & they went to Ontario to dance. We went to bed early. Hot packed Jackie's boil on her hip.

Wednesday, November 25, 1959

got letter from Berniece & Jerry

We got off work for next 4 nites came home in fog but it blew away time I got home & it was sunny & nice.

Ivard took little boys to school then he helped me make 6 pumpkin pies & him & Kay took 2 of them to school for their Thanksgiving dinner. I fixed lunch & we ate & Ivard hot packed the boil on Jackies hip & Kay & I went to bed awhile. got up at 3:30 when Ivard brought little boys home & he went to work. washed 2 batches of clothes, Kays stuff.

Gene & Ray came home on bus & Ray fixed supper while Kay & I went in & got a few groc. We ate & I doctored Jackie & we went to bed early.

Tuesday, November 24, 1959

Gail called

The fog was so thick we could hardly see to get home & it stayed that way all day & night. I took little boys to school, Ivard was helping Wally hook rake on his pick-up. I came home & went to bed & Ivard woke me up at 1: & I went to relief society

Ivard killed & cleaned a Turkey

I came home at 4: after getting groc. & Ivard had got little Kids & gone to work. I cooked supper & at 6:30 I left to get Gene it was so foggy. It was 7:30 before Gene was ready. When we got home at 8: Kay was home from Rexburg. Came with Bob & Fran.

Ray passed hand bills for scouts after school then went to church basketball practice, got home at 10:30 We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

First fog.

When I got home from work Ray had gathered up all the cloths & changed beds & sorted them & had my bed room cleaned. He was going to stay home but Ivard wouldn't let him.

I ate & read paper while Ivard took Kids to school then I went to bed. I got up at noon & Ivard had my bedding dry & we made my bed & Jackie & I went back to bed. I got up at 4: & Ivard had got little Kids & gone to work. He had all the cloths washed & dried & me & Kids got them put away. Ray stayed after school to pass hand bills for scouts & he was to high school when I went after Gene from ball practice at 7: I fed little Kids before I left. Went to bed until time to go to work at 11: It was pretty foggy.

I came home from work & was so cold I went to bed with Ivard & got warm. Gene Ray, Dean & Dale went to priesthood & sunday school & got home at 1:30 & brought Dickie Small. Ray got dinner & I was all afternoon writeing Mother, Jerry & Lyle.

Ivard tended Jackie this morning.

I came home from work & went right to bed & stayed there most of day but didn't get very much sleep, too noisy.

I came home from work & ate & went right to bed. At 1: Ivard woke me up & said I was supposed to be at leadership meeting at 1:30, I forgot, I really had to hurry to make it.

I came home at 3:30 just as Ivard was going after Dean & Dale They came home & Ivard went to work. I pressed an apron & took it with one of my fruit cakes into bizzar. Didn't have any money to buy anything. got Gene from ball practice & we came home & ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & worked on books while Ivard took Kids to school then I fixed bacon & made omlet & Ivard & I ate & went to Nampa & put some of my check in bank, Pd gas bill & got groc. & Ivard saw about refinancing car We came home at 12:30 & Jackie & I went to bed & Ivard finished picking corn. Jackie woke me up at 3: & her & Ivard had a bath & he went to work. I worked on book. Ray came home on bus. & fixed supper & milked.

Sunny & nice.

I came home from work & had flat tire as soon as I stoped. while Ivard changed it I got ready & took Kids to school & went in to Mrs Kotter's & met with 3 other ladies & we went to Boise to Dr. Cudmore to reduce. $10. a month for 2 visits & pills. No wheat no Sweet. I weighed 267 lbs. came back at noon & I droped tire off at Don Boren's to be fixed & came home & went to bed with Jackie & Ivard picked a load of corn & washed a batch of clothes. He went & got little boys at 3:30 & went to work. Kids woke me up so I got supper on & made a dz whole sandwiches to take over to grade school doing. Ray milked & I went in & picked up tire & got Gene at 7:15 & we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & went right to bed & Ivard took little Kids to school & tended Jackie & washed 2 batches of clothes.

I washed 2 batches & hung out & had another in doing & we went to town & got Ivards check & pd. bills & got bread & came home & I hung clothes out & did another batch & got my sheets in & we made my bed & Jackie & I went to bed. Ivard did another batch of clothes & hung & another I put in dryer when I got up. He got little Kids & went to work.

I came home from work & ate & went right to bed. Dean got me up at noon & I took him up to Barlows to help make cookies for their Primary tea tomorrow. He tried to sell cards on the way but couldn't. I came home & washed 3 batches of clothes & cooked dinner.

I came home from work & read paper & ate & put a batch of clothes in & hung one out & Ivard hung the other & I went to bed

Dean & Dale didn't have to go to school & they tended Jackie & Ivard unloaded the load of corn & picked another & broke wagon when he went to back it up to unload.

They got me up at 1:30 & we went in to high school to foot ball game. Nampa beat Caldwell 14 to 13. Ivard left for work before it was over Gene dressed down but didn't play We came home & Ray wasn't home. He called at 7:30 & wanted to stay all nite to Smalls, I told him to get home, he walked. I fixed supper & we ate before Ray got home & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & took Dale to school. I kept Dean home to tend Jackie today. Ivard was gone over to help Wally & I didn't see him again today I washed a batch of clothes & Dean hung them out & I hung a batch I washed last nite.

I went to bed & got up at 11: & went to town & got some red Xmas tree lites to take to relief society to make a Xmas boquet We didn't amke it today but we did make an ornament. had a nice dinner, work day.

We got up & ate & Gene, Ray, Dean & Dale went to priesthood & sunday school.

I made cookies for Kay to take back with him & fixed spagetti & salad for dinner & we ate & at 1:30 Kay & Dee left to get Fran & Claudia to go back to Rexburg.

I wrote a letter to Mother & Jerry. When Ray got dishes done we all rode over to Adrian to take Gene's Ag. book & to pick up a book that the mail man left at Nancys & take tax notice to Bishops. Ivard bought us a icecream cone & came home & he poped corn.

I got up at 6:30 A.M & took Ray over to Small's & they walked to Boise & back for hikeing merit badge, got home at dark.

I cooked breakfast & spent most of day makeing 6 fruit cakes to put in freezer for Xmas.

This afternoon Kay & Dee went over to Pete's & never got home until midnight.

Ivard came home from work & went right to work hauling our beets, they started them today.

I came home & took little Kids to school & Jackie & I did up work & I wrote to Berniece then Jackie & I slept for about 1 1/2 hrs. then we went over to Caldwell & got a milker brush & changed Jackies house slippers for bigger ones & went out to Simplots twice to catch Mr. Mun about a loan for corn picker Got rest of stuff for my fruit cakes & went to Genes ball game at 4: it has half. They tied St. Teresa sure cold, windy.

Gail came

Jackie was 3 years old today. I came home from work & Ivard was cutting Kay's hair & Gene's.

I went right to bed & got up at 12: & Gene & I went to Boise to Kays foot ball game. Ivard took Kay over at 10: & had dinner with the team. They got beat 40 to 7. Kay played quite a bit & got his ankle hurt again. We visited with him, coach & Kays Bishop until bus was ready to leave. Gene came home with Ivard. Got home at dark & Gail, Lynda & Kids were here. We ate, chilli, punch, icecream & haloween birthday cake. Gave Jackie her presents before Kay left this morning. 2 pr. p.j. house slippers, crayons, scizzors 3 paint books, clored penciles, tablet. 55 cents.

Kay called at 5: & wanted me to come to Nampa after him, the team came down from Rexburg on bus & Kay came over from Boise on Bus. We got him some toilet articles & Jackies birthday cake & icecream & waited for Gene to get back from his Boise game. The won. It was 7:30 time we got home. Ray had house cleaned & supper ready. We ate & visited awhile & I went to bed & Kay studied. Jerry called at 10: sure sounded good. I laid down again & Edna woke me up at 11:45. we were 20 min. late. Gene was asleep in chair.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed & Ivard tended Jackie & washed a batch of clothes & hung out. Jackie & Ivard came to bed at noon.

Ivard went to work at 3:30 & I got clothes in and got supper on to cook & went in after Gene & Ray. passed little boys on their way home from Primary. We hunted all over for Ray, he was passing out hand bills for scouts. We called home twice. I finally got made & came home & here he sat. We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Got letter from Barbra & Lyle was in hospital 9 days with temp. of 104 degrees & they couldn't find out what was wrong. went home a week & now he's back in for 20 days with typhoid fever.

I came home from work & got ready while Ivard took the little boys to school then we took Jackie to Nampa to Roosevelt school & she had her smalpox shot & her first D.P.T. shot. came home at 10: & Ivard tended Jackie & I went to bed. Ivard & Jackie came to bed at 2: & Ivard got up 3: & went & got Dean & Dale from school before he went to work.

I got up at 4: and made some tea & had shrimp sandwiches then I did some patching.

I went after Gene & Ray at 6: & met them half way home, walking

I came home from work & Ivard took little boys to school & I went right to bed.

I got up at 12: & had a bath & got ready & picked a boquet of flowers & went in & took them to Venice & visited with her 1/2 hr., still sick, then I went to relief society.

Ivard tended Jackie & washed 2 batches of clothes, after relief society I met Ivard & Jackie at Dairy queen & we had icecream cone & Ivard went to work & we came home. When Ray came I went back to town & had Kays name put on his brief case & got Jackie 2 pr. pajamas & some crayons ect. for her birthday. got bread & went & met Gene & came home. picked a boquet to take Paul & Mary & got books up. Ray got supper.

Gene gave me the money to buy a pr. house slippers for Jackies birthday, red cow boy boots. Came back to Nampa & got groc. & had icecream cone & came home & Ivard fixed us a sandwich while I did some more clothes. I went to bed at 3: & Ivard did too for awhile, He hung some more clothes out & went to work. I got up at 4:30 & got clothes in & hung a batch of Sheets out then went over to Lowders & got Dale & went to town & got Gene & Ray. Ray got supper & made beds & cleaned bedrooms. I went to bed at 7: but didn't get to sleep until after 8: went to work at 11: Windy - sunny day.

I came home from work & Ivard tended Jackie & I went right to bed. I got up at 12: & had a hot bath and at 1: I went in to the Stake House to leadership meeting for relief society, after I got out at 3:30 I went over to Junior High & met Ivard & Jackie & watched Rays team get beat by Caldwell. There last game. Gene played at Caldwell & won. He made 1 T.D & 2 points after. We got groc. & picked him up after we got Ray some new shoes & came home & I went to bed & Ray got supper. I came home & took Kids to school & Ivard was gone over to Wally's to do beets.

Ray had beds changed & clothes gathered up & I washed 4 batches hung 2 out & Jackie & I went to bed at 11:00, got up at 12:30 & Ivard was home. I did another batch & I Ivard & Jackie haueld hay & I went to relief Society & gave my Literature lesson. came home at 3:30 & got clothes in & did another batch & went after Dean & Dale. Met Ivard, going to work, just turning onto 12th. got Jackie out & we came home.

I washed a batch of clothes & hung out & iorned 10 pieces then went to town & paid bills & got Gene & Ray & came home & iorned 10 more pieces & worked on relief society lesson while Ray got supper.

Sunny, blue sky, nice day. I had to wash my bedding, Jackie wet. Picked two beautiful boquets of mums, one rose & pink & the other bronze & yellow.

We ate & Gene, Ray, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & sunday school.

I washed the turkey & got in oven after Ivard fixed a wire that had burned off on big oven. It's the turkey Ivard won last Xmas at Adrian. Made dressing & Ivard peeled potatoes.

I worked on my literature lessen for relief society Tuesday & got books up. Kids didn't get home until 3:30 they'd been to hospital to see a friend. They brought 2 Kids home We ate & Gene & Ray & 2 Kids went rabbit hunting. They all went to church & I had a bath & went to bed until time to go to work. Ivards day off.

I got up & got Gene & Ray up & they went & worked for Wally all day. I dampened clothes and washed 4 batches after I went & got Ivard from work at 7:30, me & Jackie. I went to bed awhile with Ivard.

Ivard got up at 11:30 and he & I Dale & Jackie took a cow to sale at Caldwell. I had to take car over to Wallys beet field & trade the Kids for pick up. Ivard finished baleing hay. Came home at 12:30 & Gene & Ray had come home for dinner, fixed it & Ray made a pineapple upside down cake for supper. They went back to work & I iorned until 5:30 then we went to Caldwell & got cow check & got groc. & came home & ate the stew I made before we left. We watched T.V. awhile & went to bed. I washed my hair.

Kay called. he got a bad sprain maybe broken, at game at Carbon, Utah

I came home from work & took the Kids to school and read paper & Ivard said he'd tend Jackie while I went to bed. I was only going to lay down for awhile because we are off tonite but I never woke up until 3:30, best sleep I've had since I went back to work.

Ivard went to work at 4: Jackie & I got ready & took him then we went to Safeways & Albertsons & got groc. & picked Ray up after he came from Boise, They beat Boise.

came home & ate when Gene got home from working for Wally & Gene did chores & Gene, Ray & I went to Adrian & watched them get beat by Homedale.

I was supposed to meet Ivard at 8:15 for supper. came back to pick Ivard up at 11:30 & he had to double.

I came home from work & took little Kids to school & got ready & we went to town & got Ivards check & paid bills & went to Caldwell & signed for government beet payment came back to Nampa & got groc. & had a sundee & came home & Jackie & I went to bed. got up at 4: & Ivard had gone to work.

Gene went over to work for Wally but he didn't need him tonight, he brought Dean & Dale home. I made out payments & went to town after Ray from foot ball practice & mailed them. I went to bed until time to go to work & Ray fed Kids.

I came home & Ivard took Kids to school & I went to bed. Ivard washed overalls & hung them out. I got up at 10:30 & washed 3 batces of clothes & at 1:30 Jackie & I went to relief society work day. started home at 3:30 but Kept having car stop on me. Picked Ray up from bus at high school, couldn't find Gene, he came home with some Kid.

I came home from work & took Kids to school & gathered up the clothes & sorted them & washed 2 batches & went to bed & Ivard & Jackie went to town & got part for baler. Ivard washed a batch & hung out I slept about 1 1/2 hrs & got up & washed 2 more batches & hung out & Ivard helped me make our bed & he went to work. at 4: I went & got Dean & Dale & we went & watched Gene's team beat Mountain Home 47 to 6. went & got Ray & a few groc. & came home & I went to bed at 7: until time to go to work & Ray fed Kids & made beds.

I came home from work & went to bed until noon Ivard & Gene went over & helped Wally until 11:30.

Ray went to Priesthood & sunday school with Max then stayed in to a Kids & came home after church with Max. No one else went to church today, listened to Conference.

I made apple pies & dressing & cooked pork chops & squash cassarole then I made Dean a bag for school & patched Genes foot ball suit.

Gene spent all afternoon mounting his bug collection for biology.

I went to bed at 6: until time to go to work.

Kay called on phone said he won his letter in foot ball.

I came home from work & washed Genes foot ball suit & went to bed.

I got up this afternoon & Ivard & I went to town & got window glass for Deans room & some paint to do little cup board for Jackies birthday got radiator flushed out & anti-freeze in car & some groc. & came home & cooked supper & fixed 4 whole heads of cauliflower & put in freezer.

Ray got home before we went to town, from his scout trip, & did up the work.

We ate & I went to bed & Ivard Gene & Ray went in to General Priesthood Conference meeting then Gene went to lucky clover dance after & got home at 12:30.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed.

Kids didn't have to go to school again today.

Stormy. Gene worked on his biology & Dean helped him.

Oil guy came early so they had a fire.

I got up & cooked dinner & fixed 8 qts cauliflower & put in freezer.

Gene went to foot ball practice & ate when he got home. We ate & Ivard went to work at 3: & took baler needle to weld.

I came home from work & ate. Kids didn't have to go to school today or tomorrow, teachers Institute at Boise.

Gene was going to work for Wally but it rained most of day. Kids tended Jackie & I went to bed.

I got up & got ready & took Gene in to foot ball practice & I went to Caldwell to Union meeting at 2: & got sworn In. came back to Nampa & got groc. & got Gene & came home, too late for Kids to go to Primary & Ivard was already gone to work. I fixed supper & went to bed until time to go to work

It was stormy so Ivard tended Jackie and I went to bed awhile.

Max Barlow came & got Rays stuff & he didn't come home from school but went on a scout trip up to church camp until Sat.

I came home from work & took Kids to school, passed Ivard just comeing home. He had to waite for welders to open to get baler parts. We ate & read paper & Jackie went to bed with us. got up at 1: & got ready & Jackie & I went to relief society, first time in new ward & first time for new year. I bore my testimony. Ivard bed on an afternoon Job & had to go today at 4: We passed him on our way home. got Dean & Dale & came home & got clothes in from yesterday, picked 2 boquets of Mums & got books up.

got up & fed Kids & Ivard milked & Kids all went to school. changed beds & washed 4 batches of clothes Ivard started to bale hay but broke both needles on first bale. We took them in & left them to be welded & got bread & had icecream cone. I wrote to Kay. Ivard helped me make 15 pints grape jam before he went out & put grape juice away.

Came home & took care of clothes & Ivard went & got Dean & Dale & Dean started supper while we went in to town & got Gene & Ray & picked up rest of our pork, the hams, bacon & lard. passed Gail comeing out so Jackie & Dale came back home with them. they wouldn't stay to eat, it was 7: time we got home, car stoped on us & had to go to garage.

made me some ice tea this morning. Ivard helped me make beds. We went to bed until time to go to work & at 10:30 I got up.

Gene did chores & him & Ray went to Priesthood at 9:15. special meeting, Gene is an officer. I made waffles & sausage for breakfast.

I bottled rest of grape juice & got pulp ready for jam tomorrow Gene & Ray got home at 2: & we got dinner. Ray bought some icecream.

I wrote to Lyle while Ray did up dishes & he was so long I didn't get grapes done in time to go to church. Ivard & all the Kids went & I was just finishing up when they got home.

I got up & fixed breakfast & took Ray up to Martines's to work all day.

Ivard came home from work & went to bed awhile then he got up & watched world series. He cut Gene, Dean & Dales hair.

Nice warm breezy day. I washed 4 batches of clothes, cleaned my bed room & front room. Dean helped me a lot. I washed bottles & did 21 qts grape juice with grapes in bottle & put 5 qts cauliflower in freezer.

Cooked supper & we ate & Ray did up Kitchen. We got to bed about 10: I went first Ivard & Gene went ward teaching but didn't find where any one lived.

Sent Jerry letter & his money

I came home from work & took Kids to school. Ivard was home & in bed. I did up work & I laid down for awhile. We don't have to work tonight.

I went to school & got Kids & went in & saw Dales work books and saw how to make Deans book holder. Brought Jackie & Dale home & Dean & I went to town & mailed Jerrys letter I wrote today & his money. Got Ivards jacket & pants from cleaner & paid Hale's furn. & laid away a chest of drawer for Xmas. got Deans material for book holder & some groc. & came home & got supper. We went to bed early. I was so tired & Ivard had to go to work.

I came home from work and took Kids to school. Ivard was home & in bed. I washed some clothes & read paper. Ivard got up to hear world series & went after Dean & Dale at 1:30, teachers meeting and they didn't have to go this after noon. I went to bed & at 3: I got up & we took Dean & Dale in to Primary then we went & watched Genes foot ball game.

We had to site quite awhile, Boise didn't show up till nearly 5: & our Kids were tired out. got beat 18 to 14. Ray beat Boise. We went & got 83 lbs squash & a bu. of grapes while we waited for Gene. Dean & Dale came home with Mrs. Barlow after Primary, to ball park. came home & ate & went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & took Kids to school then Ivard, Jackie & I went over to Gails & they were just moving out, over on Enterprise Ave., out from Nyssa. We left Jackie there to play & went over to G. & B & gave them my radio, wouldn't play & they will mail us out one from Boise. went back & followed Lynda to Nyssa & picked Gail up at dairy & followed them to their new place. Gail gave us the money back we pd. his loan. Came to Wilder & got a part of sack of corn before we got rained out. stoped in Caldwell & laid a sweater away for Lynda, Barbra & Mother for Xmas. had Shake, fries & hamberger & got groc. & came home at 6: & went to bed until time to go to work. Ray fed Kids & Gene did chores. I went to work at 11: & Ivard at 11:30.

I'm 44 today. I came home from work & took Dean & Dale to school. Ivard was home & in bed. I sorted clothes & washed a batch & hung out & at 10:30 Jackie & I went to bed. It was noon before I got to sleep, when Ivard & Jackie got up. Ivard washed 2 batches & hung out. It was nice this morning but cloudy & cold in afternoon. Ivard watched ball game. I got up at 5: & got clothes in & Dean & Dale put them away. Ivard went & got some icecream & bread & when Kids got home Ray fixed toasted cheese sandwiches & pork & beans & we ate. Ray gave me a jar mixed candy & They gave me a G.E. clock radio, bed room light & my new bed & breakfast set.

Ivard watched ball game and shoveled manure I got up at 4:30 & got supper, made apple salad. We ate after Gene came home at 6: & did the chores Ray made beds, I didn't ash today.

I came home from work & went to bed. Everyone one was eating. Ivard came to bed & rubbed my sore hand with linement.

Gene, Ray, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & sunday school & Ivard tended Jackie.

Ray stayed in to meeting, got home at 3: Kids got home at 2: I was up & had stuffed peppers on & cauliflower. Dean put potatoes & peas on while I got books up.

I came home from work and went to bed until 10:30 & Ray made hot cakes for breakfast.

It really rained comeing home & hard 2 or 3 times today. Ivard & Gene took my bed down & put it up in Rays room and I washed my wood work, windows & curtains & vacumed rug good then I split a sheet & made 2 sheets out of 3 for my new bed. They brought it about 5: it sure is big. made meat pie with biscuits on top & we ate & Gene went over to Wallys awhile I went to bed at 6: until time to go to work.

I came home from work & Gene took car & took Kids to school & he went to school. I went to bed with Jackie & Ivard until 10:30 then we went over to Gail & Lynda's but they weren't home we went on over to Ontario to G & B. & they gave us $100. for oil stove on a breakfast set & six chairs & a big double width bed & head board, it cost 265. They gave us a bed room lamp & 100 lbs sugar. Ivard got a G.E clock radio for my birthday. We came back to Nampa to Foot ball game Gene made 14 points. They beat Caldwell 43 to 0. Had a flat tire on car & Ivard changed it & I took it over & had it fixed & got groc. & waited for Ray & Ivard, Jackie & Gene came home in pick-up. I got home at 7:15 & Ivard was in bed. I made barbacue & we ate after Gene did chores & I went to bed

I came home from work and took Kids to school and washed some clothes while Ivard mowed hay. then at 1: he, Jackie & I went to bed. We got up at 3:30 & went to Nampa & got groc. then we went over to Kuna & got 4 sacks of red potatoes for $1. a hundred. We came home in rain and Ivard finished mowing hay while I got supper. Gene went over to Wallys & worked after school. he did chores & we ate late then Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work. I went at 11: & Ivard went at 11:30.

I came home from work & took Dean & Dale to school & read paper & ate. Ivard was home & had milking done. Gene stayed home & hot packed his jaw all day. We got about 6 cores out & the swelling is about gone. It looks a lot better. I washed & cleaned our oil stove up & Ivard took it to town but they wouldn't give him enough for it so he brought it home again. He had to go to P.F.C. & see about Gails loan hes behind on, now there trying to make us pay.

Ivard cut hay until 6:

Sure a nice day. I went to bed at 11:15 & got up at 2:45 & fixed Gene & went after Kids & got books up. Dean went selling cards, didn't sell any.

I came home from work & took Dean to school & Gene went in Pick-up. Ivard was home & in bed. I read paper, ate, & washed 2 batches of clothes & me & Jackie went to bed at 11: Ivard got up & fed cows at noon & got mower on tractor ready to do hay.

I got up at 3:30 & got clothes in & cleaned up & got supper on then I iorned the things I washed today

Gene went to Dr. with his boil after school, then when they got home he hot packed it all evening & Ivard milked after we ate. We went to bed at 7:30 then got up at 8: & went to Nampa & got a hot water bottle & some tape for Gene, came home & went back to bed at 9: I got up at 10:30 & fixed a pack (wet) on Gene & went to work at 11: Ivard left at 11:30. Dean sent selling cards (Xmas) sold 2 boxes.

I got up & got breakfast & got Kids off to school. Changed all the beds & sorted clothes & got 4 batches washed & dried & Ivard & I made our bed & Gene & Deans. I finished my iorning & had a bath & washed another batch of clothes & at 2:30 we went to town & I went to Superior & had a Shampoo & Ivard & Jackie went & had the car greesed then we went & had root beer & went to Gails over by Ontario, the weren't home but we met them in Nyssa & talked a few min. They'd been over to our place. They had a whole house full of new furniture We went to Metcalfs & got 3 lugs of tomatoes. Came home at 8:30 & Ray had supper ready. We went to bed at 9:30 & at 11:50 Elna called & wanted to know if I was going to work. Ivard got there at 12:10, OK but we were a half hr. late.

We got up at 8: & went & had breakfast (in Idaho Falls) & left for home. We stoped at Bliss & had one glass of beer then stoped at Glenns Ferry & had a couple & stoped at Mountain Home & had dinner. We got to Boise about 2:30 so we drove up & saw lucky Peek Dam then we went on up to Idaho City & went in a bar & stayed until about 9: They had a Jap piano Player & he sure was good. We got home about 10:30 & Kids were still up.

Ivard came home from work at 8: & said lets go to Rexburg. I was still in bed. I dressed & packed a bag & at 8:30 he & I were on our way just Ivard & I. I drove from Bliss to Craters of Moon. rained on us most of way. We just stoped for gas & got to Stadium at 2: just as players were comeing out. We met coach & he took us in gate. It rained a little during game & Kay got to play quite a bit, They got beat 20 to 0 by Montana. After Game Kay & his roommate drove us around town & showed us his room them we left them at cafeteria & went & had supper & got gas & went to Idaho Falls & got a hotel room & went to show "Blue Denim & got back to room at 9:30 & went to bed. supper was only meal we ate today. Ivards nite off.

Ivard came home from work and went to bed until noon and I iorned then we went to Nampa & ate at 1:30 & went to Boise & drew out $100. out of Kays money & mailed to him then we went up to Borah High and watched Nampa get beat 8 to 7. It rained all morning & let up during game then rained again. It was a mud puddle & the mud ran down their legs. Gene played nearly the whole game & really did good. Came back & picked Kids up at Nampa & came home & ate & went to bed.

I got up & cooked breakfast & Ivard did chores & we ate & I took Gene in to school, had to be there early to have picture taken. Droped Dean & Dale off on way home. Ray rode bus.

I washed 4 batches of clothes & fixed 2 bowls of peaches for freezer & one for supper & put 6 qts cauliflower in freezer.

At 4: we went & got Dean & Dale, after I made meat sauce for spagetti, & they cleaned front room & put clothes away while Ivard, Jackie & I went to town & got a few things & Ivard watched Gene practice until 7: Ray walked over & waited with me. came home & Gene did chores & we ate & Ivard & I went to bed. He got bumped & went to work at 11:30.

I came home from work & washed a batch of clothes & read paper & we went to Nampa & got Ivards check & paid bills & opened a checking account at Bank of Idaho, got groc. & came home at noon & hung out clothes & Jackie & I went to bed & Ivard washed 2 batches clothes & hung one out. I got up at 2: & hung out other & got first ones in & washed a batch of clorads.

A cow died & By-products came & got her & I had to help keep cows in. He came right after Ivard left for work at 2:30.

I got books up & made out some payments

Simplots called at 4: & said the plant would be down until Monday nite. Dean & Dale walked home. Ivard took car in & traded Gene for pick-up. Gene & Ray got home at 6:30. We ate & Ray did chores & I took Gene in to a foot ball meeting. I had coke & parked up town while I waited. came home at 8:30 & went to bed.

I came home from work & took Dean & Dale to school.

It rained about all day & really hard part of time.

Ivard tended Jackie, she's still sick, & I went to bed. I got up at 2: & took Ivard to work because Gail hadn't brought pick-up home. the streets were so full of water we could hardly get through, some were Blocked off. Jackie had milk shake & I had a sundee then we came out & picked up Dean & Dale at school & Jackie & I went to bed, she was takeing chills. Gail brought pick-up home but wouldn't take it in to Ivard, too big a hurry. I got up at 5:30 & went after Gene, they had a foot ball meeting. We had hamberger, fries & root beer & came home & I went to bed until time to go to work & Gene did chores. Gene drove Pick-up to town at 10:45 & I followed him & parked out by Winthers & we went & got Ivard & then they came home & I went on to work.

I came home from work & put a roast on and went to bed at 10:30. Ray made hot cakes & did dishes. Gene, Ray Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & sunday school at 11:, time for our new ward Jackie was sick & Ivard tended her & peeled potatoes.

I got up at 12:30 and made 2 peach pies and got dinner on to cook. Kids came home at 2: Gail & Lynda came & we ate at 3:30. and they loaded up their stuff to move to Ontario & left at 5:, they took our pick-up.

I came home from work & Gail & Lynda had gone to Ontario to work He has a job at a dairy. Ivard was home & had chores done & we went to bed until noon.

I went to bed, & Jackie, & Ivard went out to plow & he woke us up at 1:30 & he left for Marshing to foot ball game. I got up & washed the white table full of bottles and started doing peaches, did 22 qts. Washed clothes & had to go to school in pick-up & get Dale, he had flat tire on bike. I got supper & when Ivard got home at 7: with Gene & Ray from foot ball practice I went to bed until time to go to work but never did sleep because Gail came home at 8: & Jackie & Debbie were really noisy

Gail & Lynda took off at 10: hunting work, I had just got to bed & Ivard woke me up because he ran out of gas in tractor so we went to Nampa & got groc. & to Caldwell to bank then we went to Homedale to get peaches but they were all gone where we always get them, found some in sunny slope. got 3 bu. for 7.50.

Kay left for Rexburg

I came home from work & Ivard was still in bed. I ate & went to bed & Ivard & Gene went over to Nyssa & moved Gail's stuff over here & they came over to stay. The lost their new trailer & all their furniture they turned in on it.

No one went to church today.

Ray cooked dinner, burnt the roast. Gail & them came & we ate at 2:30 & Ivard went to work.

I iorned 10 pieces for Kay & he finished packing. I went back to bed until time to go to work.

Dale was sick tonight & threw up. I was run to bowls all day.

Ivard got home at 10:45 & I drove the pick-up to work.

At 11:30 Ivard, Dean & Dale left for Rexburg to take Kay to college. Gail & Lynda stayed all nite.

Gene took Ray in to foot ball practice & we picked him up when Kay & Kids & I went to town to pick up Kays suit case they put his initials on & his 2 pr. of pants they hemmed. came home & Kay got ready & went over to claudias & they went to Boise to show I went to bed after I dampened Kays clothes & we packed his stuff.

Ivard got home at 10:30. I had to drive pick-up to work Kay had car.

I came home from work and Ivard was home in bed so me & Jackie went to bed to get warm & it was noon when we got up. We were supposed to go over to Nyssa & get Kay this morning, we went at noon & stoped to Metcalfs & got 2 lugs tomatoes & a crate of cantalope. got Kay & stoped at Clucus's & got a sack of corn

Rained awhile.

Came home & Ray got supper & Kay & I went to Nampa & got him a samsonite pullman case, & metal suitcase, 2 pr. wool pants, socks, shorts, T shirts a sweater & a coat & he got Jackie a pr. black Nylon velvet shoes. Came home & ate & Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & Ivard was in bed so I mixed bread & made a batch of cookies and washed some clothes. Grinder guy came at 11: so I woke Ivard up to help him & made bread out & went to bed and Ivard tended Jackie and baked the bread.

I got up and cooked supper and Ivard went in and got kids from foot ball practice & we ate and Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work

Gene & Ray started Seminary
got letter from Jerry & Barbra

I came home from work & washed a batch of blankets & went to bed & Ivard hung them out, tended Jackie & did dishes.

Ivard & Jackie came to bed awhile at noon then Ivard went out & planted one piece of hay & got it harrowed.

I got up at 3:30 & washed 2 batches of overalls & put pork chops on & squash & potatoes then got clothes in & put away.

Dean & Dale came from Primary at 6: & Gene & Ray got home from foot ball practice at 6:45. I fixed cucumbers & made salad & we ate at 7:

Kay called at 5:30, hes quiting tonight & wants us to be after him Friday He got a Scholarship to Ricks & has to be there Monday.

went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work. Gene & Ray went to Mutual.

Ivard wrote Jerry & sent his money

I came home from work & all the Kids were gone to school, Gene & Ray drove Pick-up so they could come home from foot ball practice & they were late, helping Ivard get tractor un stuck.

I washed a batch of clothes & went to bed & hung them out when I got up at 4: & washed another batch, and made a meat loaf & put carrots on then Ivard, Jackie & I went to town & got a seeder from a guy & got our fresh pork from when we had pig killed. had a sundee & came home & finished getting supper & we ate & I got books up & went to bed at 6:30. Gene did chores Ray did dishes & defrosted ice box. Ivards nite off.

school started

I came home from work & Ivard & Jackie took Dean & Dale to school. Gene & Ray went on bus. Ivards day off.

Ivard went out to plow but got tractor stuck. I changed all the beds & got 5 batches washed & my bed made.

We went to town & got Ivards check & paid bills & got a bank draft to send Jerry. got groc. & came home & hung some in & went to bed at 3: got up at 5: & tended some more clothes & went to town & got Dean's school stuff & got Kids from foot ball practice.

Ivard went after Dean & Dale at noon just went half a day today.

Ray got supper & made beds & Dean cleaned house up. got T.V. fixed

Sunday, August 30, 1959

I came home from work & went to bed. Gene, Ray & Dean went to Priesthood & sunday school & Ivard tended Dale & Jackie.

I got up at 12:30 and cooked dinner & Ivard checked water & Ray made cookies.

Ivard left for work at 2:30

I went to bed & at 6:30 Kay Claudia & Ronald came, Kay had Gails car, & I got up & talked to them until 7:30 when they took Gene & Ray & went to church, Kids came home with Barlows.

They devided wards tonight & we are in new 5th ward.

I came home from work & Ivard was home in bed, he got home at 7: Gene did chores. I washed a batch of clothes & read paper & at 9:30 I went to bed & Ivard got up & ate & watched ball game. Ray got me up at 10:15 & we went in to Dr. Ross & he had his physical for foot ball. got groc. & school paper & came home & Ray fixed dinner. We ate & Gene left for foot ball practice & Ivard left for work at 2:15. I went to bed & Jackie. Ray did dishes & cleaned house. I got up at 5:30 & worked on book & Gene came home & picked corn & they got it ready & I fixed 78 cobs & 6 pkgs cut off & put in freezer. I got through at 10:10 & laid down half hr. then got ready & went to work. Ivard got home before I left.

Ray milked & Gene went to Wallys at 6: AM

I came home from work & Ivard was in bed, got home at 7:30. I read paper & went to bed at 9: & Ivard got up & went over to Wallys & worked for Gene while he went in to foot ball practice then he wasn't supposed to be there until afternoon so he came back & Ivard came back & went to bed & I didn't even wake up. He got up at 12:30 & went back over & Gene came home & ate & went to practice. He got home at 6: & I got up. best sleep I've had since I went back to work. Ray fixed supper & we ate & Ray milked Gene got home about 7: Ivard went to bed & I picked over a kettle of beans to eat tomorrow & cooked them, the rest of them were wrecked from putting water on them last nite. went to bed at 9: & we got up at 10:30 & Ivard left for work & I went at 11:

I came home from work & Ivard was in bed, just got home.

Gene went to Wallys at 6: A.M & Ray milked. I went to bed & Ivard got up at 9: & went over to Wallys & worked for Gene while he went to foot ball practice. Gene came home at noon & ate then went over & worked & Ivard came home & ate & went back & worked & Gene went to practice again at 2: Ivard went to Caldwell to bank

Ivard brought home 2 bu. of lima beans at noon & they were the dirtiest things. Ray & I picked them over all afternoon, Ray went in to get his foot ball suit with Gene & Dean helped me. I got 21 qts in freezer. Gene came home at 6: & Ivard took him back with Wallys Pick-up. then went to bed. I laid down awhile & we went to work.

I came home from work & went right to bed. I was mad at Ivard. Him & Jackie took 2 heifer calves to sale in morning. & Gene drove car in to foot ball practice at 10:, he got home at noon Ray got dinner & we ate at 2: & I went in & signed for unemployment. came home & worked on books.

Ivard & Gene took our boar pig in to be killed & went & got calf check.

Gene did chores & Ivard & Jackie went & bathed & we went to bed. Gene & Ray went to Mutual with Barlow.

We got up at 10:30 & I left for work at 11: & Ivard at 11:30. I hardly spoke to him today.

Tuesday, August 25, 1959

sent Jerrys letter, Pictures & $7. from Kay. I went back to work at Simplots

Simplots got me out of bed this morning to tell me to come to work tonight. Gene did chores & we ate & Ivard went out & finished getting hay ground ready to plant & at 10: Dean & I took Gene in to foot ball practice & we went to Caldwell to bank then to Savings bank & put dimes in then we went to I.D & had some things on sale put away for Xmas. Dean tried to sell cards but didn't sell any, got groc & got Gene at 12:30 & came home & I laid down awhile. Ivard had gone to town. at 4: I took Gene in to Dr for foot ball physical & left him & went up to stockman & there sat Ivard playing cards. He said he come in min I went back at 5: after I got Gene & he said he'd come. I came home & he wasn't home when I went to work. Ivard got home at 1: AM. sat in Stockman 13 hrs.

Lyle left for home

Cloudy but nice. We changed all the beds & cleaned all the house & I washed 5 batches, made 10 qts tomatoe sauce & cooked dinner & we ate at 3:

Gene drove in to practice at 10: Ivard got one piece of grain ground plowed, disk & harrowed to plant hay.

I helped Ray made beds upstairs

At 5: Dean & I went selling cards, he sold 5 boxes & I got a letter written to Jerry. got home at 8: & made my bed & Jackies & Ivad & Jackie had a bath & Dean & Dale. They watched T.V. & I got books up.

Sunday, August 23, 1959

Gene did chores & he drove him & Ray to Priesthood & sunday school. Ivard was mad & stayed in bed. I cleaned up made potatoe salad & meat loaf baked beans & bottled 4 qts tomatoe juice. at 11: Gail, Lynda & Kids & Kay & Jackie came & Lyle & Barbra & Kids got here right after. Barbra brought cake & stuff & made sandwiches. I made punch & we ate on lawn & they played ball. Gail left at 2:30 so Lynda could go to work at 4: & Ivard went to work. Lyle left at 5: so they could pack to leave in morning we told them goodbye. Gene did chores & him & Ray went to church with Barlow. I got Kids to bed & played Salatair & watched T.V. Kids got home just before Ivard did.

Saturday, August 22, 1959

I cooked breakfast after Gene did chores, made waffles & bacon & eggs. Ivard cut Kids hair & Ray did work & Gene & I went to Caldwell at 10:30 & got milk check & sent $40. to Jerry & a note, got school paper & we had root beer & got a gal. & came to Nampa & got groc. & Gene went to get a foot ball suit. We had to waite from 12:30 to 2: then we came home at 2:30 just as Ivard was leaving for work, got bumped & floated on 3: job.

Lyle & Kids came awhile. Ray rode his bike to Mikes then called & said he was staying to go to show. I washed 2 batches, clothes, & cooked a batch of tomatoes for Juice & potatoes for salad tomorrow. Played Salataire & got books up. Watched T.V.

Ray got home same time as Ivard Madisons brought him at 10:

Friday, August 21, 1959

Cold today. Gene did chores & we ate and Gene, Ivard & Jackie went to Marshing & got a bore pig and I spent until noon hemming my 2 new dresses mother brought & sewing on buttons. Ray fixed dinner & at 3:30 Ivard & I took Gene in to high school to register then I took Ivard up to work & came back & waited until 4:40 for Gene & we came home.

Gail, Kay, Debbie & Jeff came at 5: & stayed until 6:30 then took Jackie home with them until sunday. Lynda was to work. Kay gave me 7. for Jerry. Gene did chores & we watched T.V. & Kids went to bed at 10: I waited until show was over & never went after Ivard until 12:10. A.M.

got letter from Jerry - had wreck. wants 40. for car repaire.

I got up at 5:30 & got breakfast & Mother & Berniece & them ate & at 7: they left for Spokane.

Ivard did chores & we ate when Kids got up at 8:30. Ray washed bottles & I bottled chilli sauce & cooked the rest of tomatoes for Juice. It really rained today.

Gene got home at 3: & Ivard Gene & I & Jackie went to Nampa & got hay seed & Gene went to regester but had to have a paper from school board so we came out to Ferdinand & got it. Gene drove pick-up home from Gails. & brought Stanley & Terry. We got supper & Lyle & Clifford came & ate & took Kids home. I went to bed early & Simplots called & Ivard told them I was in Utah. Ivards nite off.

Ivard came home at 6: & went to bed.

It was cold today. had to shut doors & even had furnace on a little. Mother worked on my new dresses (2) she made, & Jackies. Kids went out & weeded 2 rows of beets apiece. Berniece & Ray made a cake & I washed some clothes & Berniece & I fixed sandwiches for every body & then we went to town & I signed up & we got groc. came home & I made another cake & mother fixed a corn & squash cassarole & I fixed spagetti & Berniece made jello salad & her & mother helped fix a double batch of chilli sauce & we got it on to cook.

Lyle, Barbra & Kids came & we ate & Gail came just as we finished & they ate. Gene went home with Gail. Ivards nite off. Lyle went home & we got to bed. rained.

Gene did chores & Ivard came home at 6: & went to bed. We ate & I washed 4 batches of clothes & was going to do tomatoes but draine was stoped so I got Ivard up at noon & he fixed it and Gene & I went to town &got groc. cleaning, movie film from being develoed & paid cooler off.
