Sunday, July 31, 1960

Ivard got up & went & set water & Kay Gene & Ray went to priesthood & Kay came home after. I had a bath & went to sunday school & took little Kids. Came home & cooked dinner. Ray stayed in to Kotters & Dean went home with George Allen.

We ate at 4: & Ivard did dishes & I got Jackie to sleep & read genelogy book.

Gene did chores and we all went to church. came home and had a dish of icecream & Ivard went to bed & we watched T.V.

Gene didn't have to work today he cultivated beets.

Kay worked for Max all days.

I went with Ivard to see about getting grain combined & they were comeing at 2: but they broke down & weren't comeing at all but they got it fixed & came at 5: & got one truck load done when it started to rain so we parked the load in shed.

Ivard watched ball game after he went & got Wallys truck on way home from seeing about combine.

I washed & at 4: Dale & I went to Nampa & got $40. worth of groc. We were out of everything. Bad dust storm then it really rained

We had supper and watched T.V. Gene went to Stake House to dance. Kids came home

Ivards nite off.

Friday, July 29, 1960

sent Jerry letter & his money

I made Gene's lunch & he went to work at feed store.

I washed cloths & iorned all day.

We ate & I took Ivard in to go to Boise to work then I got feed & groc. & came home.

I cooked roast & made hot rolls for dinner.

At 6:30 me & all the Kids went to Kuna to last ball game. Kids got beat bad & no one showed up for mens game so Gene, & Kay & a bunch of Kids played. We got home at 11:30 & I went to Nampa & got Ivard from work.

Thursday, July 28, 1960

Gene went to work, after I made his lunch, at feed store. I wrote to Jerry all morning.

I spent 6 hours typeing genelogy today & washed cloths.

We ate and Ivard went to Boise to work. He drove today.

We ate after Gene got home & he did chores.

I watched T.V. until Ivard got home from work.

Wednesday, July 27, 1960

I made Gene's lunch & he went in to feed store to work.

I washed cloths and spent 9 hrs. today typeing family group sheets.

After lunch I took Ivard in to go to Boise to work and signed up for unemployment. I got bread & came right home & worked on my genelogy.

I watched T.V. and at 11:45 I went in after Ivard from work.

Tuesday, July 26, 1960

I made lunch and Gene went in to work at feed store at 7:30.

I washed cloths

I worked on genelogy today nearly all day. I worked 10 hrs. typeing family group sheets & pedigrees.

I never got through until about 9:30 then I watched T.V. I sure was tired.

Ivard went to work at Boise at 2:30 after we ate dinner.

I was still up when he got home from work. I was watching T.V.

Monday, July 25, 1960

Gene started work for Gem feed

I got up & made Genes lunch & he went to work at Gem feed in Nampa for $1.35 an hr.

I changed all the beds and washed 6 batches of cloths & bottled 6 qts beets.

A guy came & sold us alumuman insulated sideing for house for $2000.

Ivard & I, Kay & Dale went to Caldwell & got calf milk (dry) at dairy & got Gene's money out of back for his 6 calves then we got our 3 cases of raspberries, had cone, got groc., went to bank & came home & Ivard left for Boise to work at 2:20 I bottled 36 qts raspberries & cooked supper. Ray made beds & we ate and Kay Gene & Ray went to Mutual Gene did chores when he came from work.

Sunday, July 24, 1960

Kay, Gene & Ray went to priesthood & Kay came home after. Dean & I went to sunday school. Dale didn't have any pants & Ivard was too honery. Jackie stayed home with her Dad.

got groc. & came home & worked on books while Ray did dishes then I fixed dinner.

I spent all afternoon on books.

Gail, Lynda & Kids came this afternoon & Dean & Jackie went home with them to spend the week.

Ray milked while Kay & Gene fed the 12 calves.

Kay - Gene, Ray & Dale went to church - Ivard wouldn't so neither did I. We watched T.V.

Ivards nite off. Kay & Gene brought Kids home & went back to fireside

Saturday, July 23, 1960

I got up & made syrup & hot cakes & they ate & Ivard, Kay & Gene watched T.V. until 11: then they went to Caldwell sale & bought 8 calves. Kay bought 2 & Gene got 6 & gave one to Ivard for takeing care of them.

I washed 3 batches of cloths & did up my iorning, first time its all been done since Xmas. I cooked dinner & we ate at 4:

We got ready & Ivard & I took Dean Dale & Jackie in to Kurtz Park to 2nd & 5th Ward get together & Jackie was in primary parade.

Ray got home from scout camp just as we were leaving & he came in with Kay & Gene when he got milking done. I got groc. & we all put together & ate & had races. Jackie came in 3rd on hers & Dale won his & Gene. Came home at 9: & watched T.V.

Friday, July 22, 1960

Dean did up dishes & I washed cloths & made a Steak & Vegetab pie with biscuits on top.

I got ready & at 2:15 I rode to Boise with Ivard to work. He picked up 2 guys he works with & I bought them all a root beer at Merridian.

Ivard took me up town & went back to work. I went shopping around & laid away a blanket & bedspread for my big bed for $45. & got 6 wash cloths. I had an Orange Julius & went to Rialto & saw "Crack in Mirror" with Orsen Wells. saw it 2 1/2 times to Kill time. It wasn't so hot. I walked down to Rail Road shack at 10:30 & they were off work, first time they've been off early. As soon as they made out report we came home. After we let guys out, we went to Pac Out & had a drink.

got letter from Jerry

I took Ivard to Nampa to meet guys to go to Boise to work I just got my last weeks unemployment check to day & got groc. Went to Bank. got a new head lite in car & came home.

This morning at 9:45 We took Dean, Dale & Jackie in to Primary then Ivard went to rail road then we went to Caldwell & put my dimes in bank & went to Dairy & got cheese, calf feed & Pads & Divisol. Had milk shake & got a part for baler came back & got Kids from primary & came home & ate & Ivard went & got beets over to Brysons & some carrots while I got dinner. then I took him to work. I cooked beets & got ready to bottle them but didn't have enough vinegar. did dishes & Kay & Gene went in to ball game. I watched T.V. until midnite & went after Ivard

Wednesday, July 20, 1960

I got up & had a bath & went in & went to Boise with Leva at 9:15 to Dr. Cudmore. I lost 2 lbs. & one inche all the way down. Mrs Gillmore went with us. came home at noon. & got dinner & washed some cloths. at 2:15 I took Ivard in to meet guys to go to Boise to work. I signed up for unemployment & came home and iorned all afternoon.

Gene went in to play ball with the 2nd ward team.

We watched T.V., saw "Broadway Melody" I got in to meet Ivard at 12: & he came about 5 min later & we came home & went to bed.

Ivard & Kids worked in garden this morning.

Tuesday, July 19, 1960

Dean was 11 today. at 9:45 Ivard went in to dentist & Dale & I went shopping for Deans birthday presents & party favors. got a decorated birthday cake & icecream. Came home & Dean had dishes done & house cleaned up.

I made punch & Dean fixed the games. Ivard ate & went to Boise to work.

At 2:30 the Garner, Kotter, Perry & Butler boy came & we had Deans party they played games & had prizes & each boy had a gift at his plate, balls, puzzles, piggy banks. I took the Kids home at 6: & after Gene did chores Kay, Gene, Dean & Dale went in to their ball game. Gene pitched & they won. Jackie & I watched T.V.

It was 111 degrees at Boise today, hottest since they've kept recores in the 1800s

Monday, July 18, 1960

I got up at 4: A.M & took Ray in to church to go to Camp Billy Rice for a week. I stayed until they left. Came back & went to bed until 9:

We changed all the beds & washed them. was all day washing & getting them put away. Then I helped Dean make beds.

Ivard & Gene got home from their fishing trip, just as Kay was going to milk at 6: so Gene milked. Ivard didn't get any fish but Gene cought 7.

Ivard marked back up on Boise job.

Sunday, July 17, 1960

Ray milked

Kay & Ray went to Priesthood & Kay came home after. I had a bath & me & Kids went to sunday school. Ray brought Roger Kotter home after sunday school so we had to go to his place on the way home to get his cloths.

Ray helped me get dinner & they did dishes & I got Jackie to sleep and worked on my genelogy.

Kids watched T.V. & Ray milked then we all got ready & went to church after church we drove over to A&W & Ray bought us all a root beer & pop corn. Came home & Kids went to bed & I watched T.V. Ray got packed ready to go to Scout Camp tomorrow.

Saturday, July 16, 1960

Ivard got up & milked & Gene set water & they packed & at 6:10 I took them in to Popeltons & they went on a fishing trip up to primitive Area up by Atlanta for 3 days. I talked to Mrs Popelton awhile & came home & went back to be awhile until Kids woke up.

I washed cloths & worked on my genelogy all afternoon & Rat cleaned up the house after he got home from working at Pendletons

At 4:30 Ray & I went to Nampa & got some cow feed & a few groc. came home & frosted angel food cake & fixed supper & ate & made some punch & watched T.V until late. Ray milked

We were supposed to go to 70's Steak fry tonite but I didn't want to go alone. Kay worked for that guy again today.

Friday, July 15, 1960

I took Ray over to Jones's to go to Dr. with him for Scout Camp examination at 9:30 & at 10: Ivard & I went to Nampa & got his check & went to bank & paid bills and I bought me a new floor polisher & rug scrubber. Ivard got him a fishing licence. We met Ray & Jones boy & we took him home after we got groc.

We ate & at 2:30 Ivard left for Boise to work.

Gene got up & did chores this morning & went over to Gails to borrow his fishing pole & never got home until dark. I called & he got here right after. I worked on genelogy 6 hrs

Ray went ward teaching

I watched T.V. until Ivard got home. Ray work 1/2 day at Pendeltons

Thursday, July 14, 1960

We ate & Ivard took Dean, Dale & Jackie in to Primary, the first time Jackie gone, and he went to the dentist. He picked them up & brought them home at noon. They brought me home 4 lbs dry yeast Mrs Kotter got for me.

I did some washing & this afternoon I worked on genelogy. I iorned

Ivard & all the Kids went in to Stake House & Kids played ball. I had a bath & got some groc. & went in & watched most of game then Kids came home & Ivard & I went to Terrace Drive Inn to show "Portraite in Black" wasn't so hot.

Ivard didn't work today.

Wednesday, July 13, 1960

Gene went to Temple at I.F for baptisms

I got up at 3: A.M. & took Gene in to Stake House to go to Temple at Idaho Falls.

We were supposed to go to Boise to Dr. but Leva couldn't so I called them for an appointment for next week & had them send me enough pills to last.

I washed cloths & worked on genelogy for 3 hrs.

I got ready & went in to sign up for unemployment then I went shopping. got a big sheet for my big bed. & laid away a mattress pad., pd on material laway & got groc. got the Kids & me some Thongs & went to Hales after vacume bags.

Ivard came home from work this morning & did chores & went to bed.

Ivards team played ball so we took our lunch & went in to park & ate after we did chores. We won. Gene was home when we got home, he was superviser & did 210 names

Ivard didn't work.

Tuesday, July 12, 1960

Ivard came home & went to bed. I was washing most of day & I got dinner.

Kids did beets & Ivard watered this afternoon.

Ivard & I bathed & got ready & went in to Nampa & at 7: & got groc. & went & had a Cool then we went to Stake house to a genelogy leadership meeting. We came home at 9:30 & watched T.V.

Ivard had to be to work at 11:30

Monday, July 11, 1960

Ray is 15 today. him & Gene went out in beets after Gene did chores.

Ivard came home from work & went to bed awhile then got up & ate & went out & furrowed out beets. I made hot cakes for their breakfast and made a batch of refrigerator rolls for supper.

Changed beds & washed cloths.

We had Rays supper but didn't have a cake or any presents. We were all broke.

I worked on genelogy 3 1/2 hrs this morning.

We went in & watched Kids play ball. They won. Gene pitched

Ivard went to work at 11:30.

Sunday, July 10, 1960

Ivard came home & went to bed. I read my genelogy lesson.

Kay didn't go to Priesthood or sunday school nor Ivard, they watched ball game.

I had a bath & me & little Kids went to sunday school.

Gene & Ray went early to priest hood in pick-up.

Came home & Ivard had a beef stew all cooked & ready to eat. We ate & Ivard, Jackie & I had a nap. Ray made some icecream & we ate it when we got up.

Gail, Lynda & Kids came a few min. then we went to church & they went home. We all went. Came home & had sandwiches, punch & icecream Ivard went to bed & went to work at 11:15. I watched T.V. until it went off air.

Kay & Gene went to work. Ivard came home & came to bed & woke me up. I stayed in bed until 10: then got up & washed & got dinner.

Gene & Kay came home & ate & went back to work & I spent all afternoon working on books & doing genelogy. Ray did beets until noon.

Dean scrubbed Kitchen & Ray waxed it

Ivard watched T.V. all afternoon

Ray did dishes & cleaned up the house.

I did genelogy until 10: then watched T.V.

Ivard went to work at 11:15.

Kay got through with his job today.

Friday, July 8, 1960

Ruth & Ray went home.

We got up & had breakfast & Ruth & Ray left at 8:30 for Sun Valley on their way home.

Ivard got home before they left. Kay went to work a little late. I did up all last nites dishes & breakfasts & washed cloths & got dinner.

Gene, Ray & Dean did beets.

Ivard went to bed all morning & got up at 1:, after we ate, & we took Gene over to Wallys to make a fence & Wally paid Ivard $150. for cutting, rakeing & baleing hay. We went to bank & then to Caldwell & had Int. drawn upon all our accounts & got groc.

Came home & did cloths & we ate after Gene & Kay came & we all went to bed early.

Ivard went to work at 11:

I was sick had a bad dust storm for about a half hr.

Came home from ball game & ate & Ivard went to work & Ruth, Ray, & I watched a show.

We ate & Kids did beets. Ivard came home & went to bed until noon. I washed cloths & Ruth & Janice did genelogy.

I got dinner & we ate at noon when Kay got home from work. He went back to work & we iorned & Ruth did dishes Ivard & I went over to Wallys but he wasn't home, we talked to Helen then I went in & signed up, forgot yesterday. went to bank & got groc. then we came home & Ivard. Ray T., Kim, Gene Ray, Dean, Dale Janice & Sharon went to Nampa bowling. When Kay came home at 5:30 he took Ruth Jackie & I in to Park & met the rest of them in swimming Ruth didn't go in & took Pictures at 7: we went over to Stake House & Kids played ball. Gene pitched the whole game & we won. beat Caldwell & they've only been beat once

Wednesday, July 6, 1960

Ivard, Ray T. & Kim went over to Arts & hauled the last 2 cows home of the 3 Ivard bought

Kay went to work.

We got up & ate & did up dishes & I washed cloths.

At 10: Ivard, Jackie, Dean, Dale & I took Ruth, Ray, Kim, Janice & Sharon over through Caldwell & Wilder & showed them where we used to live then we stoped in Adrian & talked to Gail then we went to Nyssa to Gails & had dinner. At 2: we went over by Ontario then to Lawrence & Aftons & visited. Ivard, Laurence, Ray & Kim & Dean went to Fruitland & looking around We had cake & punch. We left at 6: for home & got Kay Gene & Ray & went in to Park & played ball. Ivards team. They won. Ivard, Ray Tovey, Kim & Kay played. stoped & got groc. on way in. Ivard got regular job & we left him at work at 11: we came home & ate.

Gene worked for Kay

The car sounded funny when we drove over 35 miles so we drove slow from Streville to nearly Mountain Home, when it stoped. Bob met Fran in Nampa, We got home at 9:30 A.M. Ruth was just doing up the dishes. I helped her & Janice copy all the genelogy I had then I got dinner & we ate & Ruth & Ray did dishes.

We worked on genelogy.

Ivard went to work at 3:30 & at 5: Ruth, Ray & I & Kids went in to Nampa to Park & we all went swimming it sure was nice. Gene & Kay came in when Gene got home from work at 6: We got groc. & came home & ate & got to bed. I was sure tired after driveing most of last nite. washed cloths

Monday, July 4, 1960

Gene worked all day for Kay

Ivard didn't work.

Mother got up & went to sunrise services with Berniece then they came back & we went up to Lions Club breakfast Came back & did genelogy then at 11:15 we rode up to Parade with Ken & Berniece. Came home & ate & worked on histories then at 5: we went down to Ken's Mothers & ate barbacued chicken done in iorn pots in hot coals & potatoes done same way sure good & hot rolls mother took & good salad & strawberry sherbert Berniece took. There was Palmers, Ken, Berniece & Kids, Beverly & husband & Kids, Bruce [?] Mother, Jackie & I. Ken had few fireworks went home after dark & I packed & mother finished fixing my dresses. Kay came at 10:30 with Claudia & we went to Bountiful & gased up & took Claudia home & I got Fran & left for home at 12:30. I had to drive most of way.

Ivard & Kids, Ruth, Ray, & Kids went to Idaho City on picnic with Ray Evelyn, Lawrence & Afton Ray Bair & Mrs Bair & families. went to Caldwell fireworks

Sunday, July 3, 1960

Ray got home from order of arrow at 4 A.M.

We got up late, fast day & I worked on genelogy all day.

Mother went to fast meeting at 2: & Jackie had a nap. I ate a snack & worked on genelogy some more, writeing histories for mother out of the Lee book before I give it back.

We went over to Bernieces & had supper at 6: & visited then her & mother walked down to Palmers after Larell & Jackie, they ran away. I did some more on histories & Kent Curtis & I looked at all of Mothers pictures & I picked out some to have taken off for our genelogy books.

Berniece came over awhile We went to bed at 10:

Ivard didn't work. Ruth & Ray & Kids got here at 4: & went to church with Ivard.

Saturday, July 2, 1960

Gene worked for Kay 1/2 day

We got up & ate & I had a bath & got ready & Kay did dishes then Kay took Mother Kent & I to Salt Lake at noon & he went out to Petersons to stay until Monday nite, he was going to keep car.

We went to Walgreens & had dinner then we went up to Archives & hunted genelogy all afternoon but we didn't find one thing.

Berniece kept Jackie & at 4:30 her & all the Kids came in & got us & we got groc. & came home & mother fixed supper.

I bought $10.81 worthy of genelogy stuff today, me a cover.

We went to bed at 10:

Ivard worked 3:30 to 11:30 P.M.

Friday, July 1, 1960

Ivard took Ray in to go to Scout Camp at 9: A.M. for order of arrow.

Gene worked for Kay

We got to Petersons at 6: A.M. Lavon was up. we visited awhile then she got breakfast & we ate.

At 11: Jackie & I, and Kay & Francine went to bed.

Jackie & I got up at 4:, I had to bath Jackie before she went to bed.

We ate supper at 5: & Kay Jackie & I went up to Ruths & visited until 10: then we went to Grantsville to mothers, she got home from Spokane yesterday. We got there at 11: she was in bed.

We went right to bed & mother & I talked awhile

I called her this afternoon & found out she was home.

Ruth is going up to our place Sunday morning.
