Friday, December 31, 1965

Sunny - cloudy - snow flurries. I woke up at 4:30 AM & couldn't go back to sleep so I got up & painted until Jerry, Dean & Jackie got home from paper route.

Kids went through house & scrubbed & cleaned good & took down Xmas tree in front room, other 2 will come down Monday.

I finished my iorning, patched & painted on & off all day & made Jackies doll 2 nite gowns & read papers. Ray made pop corn balls & Jerry got supper after Kids went to bank.

Ray went away tonite. Kids worked on genelogy all day

Jackie had Bender girl stay all nite

We watched T.V. & played Scrabble Ray came home from N.N.C game & tried to play all our hands so I went to bed at 11:45. Father didn't even call.

Ivard was home 6 hrs

cloudy - cold wind - snowed a little. Ivard called at 4:30 AM on his way to Glenns F. then at 11: he drove home. All the Kids went up town & we went to bed awhile then had a shower & he went to sleep, I painted on & off all day - washed cloths & made jello salad & dressing for supper & cleaned up my painting table.

Jerry, Dean & Jackie took Dales paper route at 5:30 AM.

I went & signed for unemployment at 2:45 & took Jackie over to Forsgryns to play, Kids got her at 7: We ate about 5: & Dean did dishes & Ivard went & got Gail & they went to G.F. first out. Kids did genelogy all day. I watched movie & went to bed at 9:30

Dale left for San Francisco

I went to "Sound of Music"

cloudy - warm wind.

Jerry - Dean & Jackie got up & did Dales paper route & I got up & fixed his breakfast  & he packed & when Kids came at 7: they took him up to his managers & he went to Boise & caught a bus at 8:30 to go to San Francisco for 3 days & see East vs West ball game. Dale won the trip for getting 38 new starts to Statesman, first boy out of 5 in Nampa to win.

At 12:30 Jerry took Dean, Jackie & I to Boise to "Sound of Music" it was really good. Ray stayed home to listen to B.Y.U. game & had supper ready when we got home at 6: We ate & they watched T.V. I read paper, got books up.

I painted all morning.

We all went to bed about 8:30.

Tuesday, December 28, 1965

schnook wind, melted snow

blew real hard all day.

Jerry got up & took Dale on paper route & went back to bed, got up again at 8:30 & went & signed up for unemployment.

I got up & started iorning, got Ivard, Mine, Jerry, Dean & Dales done I painted quite a bit today & washed cloths.

Ray went up town awhile & came back & Dean & Dale went to piano lessons today, can't tomorrow.

I cooked supper scalloped potatoes dressing, fried chicken, cranberry sour cream jello salad.

Rodney Harris came to see Ray while

Ray took Dean up to church to practice organ at 5: & droped Dale of to get Starts then he went to community center with Scouts swimming, Hoggs brought him home at 9: I watched movie & went to bed at 9:30 Ivard called in nite.

cloudy & windy.

Jerry got up & took Dale on Paper route & they went back to bed.

I got up & cooked breakfast & changed Ray & Jackies bed & washed cloths all day & painted & iorned, got flat things done & all of Rays. Jerry - Dean & Dale went to bank & exchange Xmas presents. Ray listened to ball games.

I got supper & we ate & Dean did dishes. Ray studied & we all went to bed early.

Jackie & Ray cleaned her bed room & I helped her make bed.

Lyle went home. I had to talk in church. Ivard was home 2 hrs.

Jerry & Dale got up & did their paper routs & Jerry Ray, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & S.S. Jackie & I didn't go. I fixed breakfast for Lyles family & they left about 11: for Helens & Gail went home about dark.

I had dinner ready when Kids got home & we ate & I washed my, Dean & Dales hair.

Jerry - Ray & Dean went to Stake House to meeting & Dale did dishes. I had bath & at 7: Jerry - Ray- Dean, Dale, Jackie & I went to church. I had to Sing with Singing Mothers , 4 songs. I ha to talk, also other 7 missionary mothers. came home & had icecream Soda & went to bed. At 11:30 Ivard called & I went & got him. & we had tea & Played Scrabble, took him back up at 2: AM to go on to G.F. real windy.

Lyle, Gail & families came

Ivard went to G.F

Snowed some more today

warmer. Ivard got up & took Dale on Paper Route & came home & got us up & we had Xmas, really a nice one. I cooked them breakfast & Ivard went to bed awhile.

We went up to Gails and saw their things & came home & Ivard & I played scrabble & Kidsnapped & played games & listened to music.

At 2: Ivard had Shower & I fixed him a lunch. at 5:30 Ivard went to leave for G.F. & couldn't start car so Ray pushed him it was 7: time Ray got back & Ivard got going. He called at 9: made it OK. Gail came about 7: & Lyle at 7:30 & we opened Presents for names we drew then I fixed hambergers & we ate at 9:30 & Gail went home. Lyle stayed all nite. We went to bed about 11:30.

Ivard got home from G.F. for Xmas

windy & stormy. started to Snow about 5: P.M., about 2 in this evening. Ivard got home about 9:15 & went to bed awhile. Jerry took Dale up to Collect & I went & picked him up at noon & we got his presents & some groc. Guy came just as I was leaving with load of logs for fire place so we bought them.

We got supper & ate about 4: & wrapped presents & I made 2 batches of candy & jello for tonite.

Edith & Nancy & Dennis came tonite & visited & we ate a lunch then Kids all went delivering Presents around country & took Nancy home. We rode up to R.R. to see if Ivard had to go back to G.F, didn't. Kids came at 10:30 & we played Santa & went to bed at 11:45.

I got laid off for holidays

Cold & windy. We got laid off for holidays, until Jan. 3rd.

I came home from work & made 2 batches of candy, with out nuts, for Ivards Xmas. at 11: We took Hogg's tri-chem order out then Jerry & I took Ray out to "Smiles," to work at 11:30 till 7:30 and we got groc. & came home & I finished makeing sheets & pillow cases for Jackies Doll & grand daughters. Jerry wrapped Presents.

We ate then at 7:30 they went & got Ray & I finally sent to bed. Kids went to hospital to see Mrs. Looslie & messing around. Phone woke me up at 10:30, Ivard going to G.F. I got up & washed 3 batches of cloths & sewed awhile & watched late show. Ray went with Wilma Adkins until 2: A.M.

Got letter from Mother & Gene

Snowed a skiff in nite 25 º when I went to work, & 30 º this morning Sunny, clouy & windy all day.

I came home & ate & went right to bed & Kids woke me up at 1: when they came from town so I got up & made me some tea, they went to take Lynda to Dr. & I sewed a mattress & some Pillows for all the girls.

When Kids got home from takeing Lynda & at 3: Ray & I went to town & bought my Xmas Presents & got laways & groc. Came home at 5: & Jerry had supper ready & we ate.

Dean & Dale went to Piano L. at 6:30.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivard went back to G.F.

foggy comeing home - cloudy cold. We had our annual Turkey dinner (free) at work I shook hands & talked to Jack Simplot.

I got in bed with Ivard for half hr to get warm. Jerry took Dale to school & went to sign up for unemployment Ray got home at 9: on train from Pocotello, missed it yesterday

Ivard took me to Relief S. & went & got hair cut & picked me up at 11:30, train was late & so he sent me home at 12:45 so I could go to bed, train was supposed to come at 1:15

Jerry made cake & Xmas cookies & got supper. I ate & did cloths & went to bed at 6:30 & Kids went to Ward Xmas Party.

Jerry did genelogy & fixed his cards all day.

Jerry fed Kids & Jerry & Dean went to church to finish decorating for Xmas ward Party & Dale went collecting. Ivard called about 8: just got in on train & wanted some one to come & get him so I called the church & Kids picked him up.

Jerry started a Sunday Statesman Rout.

Jerry took Dale on his paper route & did his. Ray, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood, Jerry didn't get home in time. Dean came home & got Jerry & Jackie for S.S.

I came home from work & went right to bed at 9: & Kids woke me up at 1:30 to eat then Dean & Jerry went to Stake meeting & Jackie did dishes. Dale & Ray had nap & I read paper, got books up. I went to bed at 6: when Kids left for church - quire Practice first Ivard called at 8: on way to Huntington & I went right back to sleep & never woke up when Kids got home or had fireside. They woke me up at 10:30 to go to work.

Dale had Sunday S. Class Xmas Party here

Cold & foggy when I came from work. Sunny today. Ivard was home, came at midnite. I went to bed, froze to death & Ivard gae me a good rub. I never did get to sleep, Kids too moisy. Ivard got up & went & called R.R.

I got up at noon & washed some cloths & cooked supper & we ate about 3:30. Kids cleaned house.

Ivard listened & watched ball game all afternoon. Kids got play room three decorated, Ivard helped. fixed outside decoration.

I finished up my cards & Kids took them to mail. Ivard went back to G.F in car at 8:, train was 2 hrs. late. Ray & I went up to 1st Ward to Kennestin girls recpetion a few min. Came home & Dale had his Sunday school clas Xmas party here. I never shut my eyes today went to work at 11:

My 31st Anniversary Ivard called but never remembered it. He got home at midnite.

foggy comeing home - low 20 º. I came from work & ate & read paper & went to bed at 9: & woke up at noon. I washed cloths & made Jello salad for Jerry & Deans M.I.A. officers Party tonite & wrapped presents, fixed my Xmas cards and painted on Xmas Calendar.

Jerry & Ray went to town at 12:5 Jerry had to sign for unemployment then they went & decorated all afternoon, got home at 6:

When I got nearly to Nampa, comeing home from work, it was real foggy I picked Ray yp at depot, Jerry called work & told me.

I ate, read paper & went to bed at 9:15 & got up at 1:

Jerry worked for Doug P. half day & Ray took him & went to Gails till he was ready to come home at 1: & tey got ready & went to bank for me & went to Primary, going to help decorate for holidays.

I washed 2 batches of cloths & checked Tru-Chem order & had supper ready whey they got home at 5:30, they brought Jackie from Primary & Dean from school missed bus. We ate & at 5:45 Ray took Dale to collect & he went & got gas & to Evelyn Elmores. They came home at 6: & Jerry & Dean went to Sunday S. officers Party.

Ivard drove back to Glenns F.

26º when I came from work. Sunny most of day. I was froze to death, got in bed half hr to warm up then got up & Jerry & I went up to Green stamp store. Ivard got up early & went & called R.R. & got his check & went up & got voltage regulator fixed on Dodge when I got home & he met us at Home Federal & we Paid place & Don Boren then we went to opening of New Safeway & got groc. & Jerry brought them home & Ivard & I went to Caldwell to Gold Strike center & had lunch at Smilies while we waited for Dillion Auto to take used tank off car we bought for Dodge. went back & got it & came home & I went to bed at 6: & Ivard put ew gas tank on & went & got gas & left for G.F about 6: I couldn't sleep.

Jerry took Kids to Piano L. & went & Pd. R.R. Credit U. for me, got Kids & brought home & went to Terrys to his Sunday S. Class Party. I went to work.

Ivard came home

When I got out to Karcher Junction comeing home from work the ground was white & got deeper as I came, real slick but melted off by nite. I read paper & got ready & went to relief Society work day & Xmas turkey dinner real nice. I came home at 1:30 & went to bed. Ivard woke me up at 4:30, heard him talking to Kids. We ate & Kids pushed Ivard in Red car to start it & him & Jackie went & got battery chg. & gas & Xmas shopping. I went to bed until time to go to work & Jerry, Dean & Dale went to Mutual at 6: so Dean could practice organ. Ivard & Jackie came at about 1:30 & J. went to bed & Ivard came to be with me. I came home from Salt Lake

cold wind & cloudy. Jackie & I got home from Salt Lake at 7: on train & Jerry & Dean came & got us & we took Dean to Seminary. Came home & ate & Jerry took Jackie to school, he worked on genelogy all day & went & put Rays money in bank for me. I went to bed until noon & got up & washed 3 batches of cloths, worked on books.

Jerry made big Kettle of chilli for S. & we ate when Kids got home from school.

At 7: Lenard Rose came & took Dale to Steak dinner for paper boys at "Pauls Pizza".

At 7:30 Dean went to Ron Parsons to "Growl" Xmas party for Staff (school paper)

cool & rain & snow this evening in Salt Lake.

I got up & Jackie & I got ready & Kay & Gene came home from Priesthood & took us to Sunday School. Gene gave a real good opening prayer. Came home & Claudia had dinner about ready but Ruth called so Kay took Gene Jackie & I up to Ruths for Dinner about 3: Gene called Lyle from Ruths. Ray came from Nampa this morning.

We got packed & at 4:45 Kay, Ray, Jackie & I took Gene in to catch Denver & Rio Grande train at 5:30 for Denver & Western States Mission then we went through Temple Sq. it was beautiful, 40,000 lights. Went & had hamberger & at 7:30 Jackie & I caught train for home. Ray was going back to Provo with Ron P. really stormed before we left

Jackie & I got to Kays

Sunny - coool. The train was running late & it was 9: when we got to Utah. Kay & Gene were there to get us. We went & set telegram to Mission President that Gene was comeing & got his ticket. Went to Kays & Claudia got breakfast & we ate about noon - Iky has been sick & Claudia got sick this afternoon. We went to Bountiful & got Gene a new top coat & he picked up his new suit. Got Dean to books of Songs to play for Xmas. We went down to Irv's a few min., gave Gene $10. I bought $10. worth of groc. for Kay & we went home at 8: & fixed supper. Claudia has to stay in bed. Gene & I stayed up & watched show. went to bed at midnite.

Went to Salt Lake

Rained all nite, fogs gone. Pretty good today. We get week off & I took extra day to go to Utah. Came home from work & made 2 cakes one for bizzar & one for Kids & Jello for Kids tomorrow. washed cloths.

Jerry went to Primary meeting & wrapped presents for me to take to Utah & got me Packed & I laid down for couple of hrs.

At 6: Jerry, Dean, Dale & Jackie & I went to Ward Bizar & had Turkey Supper then Dale went to School Party & we came home until 8: & went up to Depot & Jackie & I left for Utah to see Gene off for rest of his mission. Father was at Depot & I talked to him while they loaded mail in Glenns F. he hasn't worked for couple of days

Ivard called, from Huntington & going through Nampa

low of 26 º real foggy going to work & comeing home this morning. I went in & drew $200. out of my Credit U. Savings to send Gene. Got home at 8:45 & read aper & ate & went to bed. Ivard called from Huntington because I couldn't get him last nite & left word for him to call. He also called about 1:30 on his way through Nampa. I woke up at 12:30 & got up & washed some cloths & went out to Hoggs & sold her $26. worth of Tri Chem for Xmas. Jerry went up town & got Genes bank draft for me & I wrote him a letter & after we ate at 5:30 I took it up to train & mailed it. Kids went to Piano L.

I went to bed at 6:30 till time to go to work.

Ivard called but Jerry didnt wake me.

Gene called, hes OK but can't home home

real foggy until I got nearly to Nampa comeing from work. low of 31 º last nite. sunny & not too cool. Got real foggy tonite about 5:30.

I came home & ate & got ready & went to relief Society. Came home & read paper & went to bed at noon. Kids woke me up at 4: to eat. I folded cloths & finished relief Society pillow cases, embroidery.

Gail borrowed Dodge to go to work in Boise, his lites didn't work. Ivard called at 12:30 but Jerry didn't wake me. he was just going to Huntington first hes worked since he went back Sun. nite, first since Thursday nite.

Kids went to Mutual at 5:45 so Dean could practice. I went to bed at 6: until time to go to work. Gene called, going to be reassigned & can't come home - needs at least $200.

32 º in Nampa when I came from work, real foggy till I got to Nampa - Sunny all day.

I red last 4 days papers & made new jello salad for supper went to bed at 10:45 & Jackie woke me up at 3:30. I got up & washed some cloths & got supper & finished painting my bird calendar.

Jerry went to unemployment office. tonite he took Dale up to collect & left him & went back & got him when he called. Jerry & Dean went up & got some Xmas lites & school paper.

I got my books up & went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work.

Came home from Glenns F.

Sunny & nice today. We woke up about 10:30 & got ready & went up to Rail Road & He was still 2 times out so he brought me home again. It was fun anyway. We went & got Jackie at Gail's on way home at 1: & went to Safeways & got groc. & came home & had dinner ready when Kids got home from Fast offering collection. They'd been to Priesthood, S.S. & Sacrament meeting. We had hambergers & all the trimmings & Jerry made some good punch. I got books up & Ivard & I played Scrabble & I fixed banna Splits & Kids decorated Xmas tree in their room, Jerry & Dean. I took Ivard up to catch train at 8: & came home & went to bed at 8:30 till time to go to work.

I took Ivard to Glenns Ferry & stayed all nite. Jerry & Dale went to Idaho City

Sunny & not too cold

I got up & changed every bed in house & washed everything up & the rugs out of car. Dean cleaned house & Ivard did our bedroom & helped make beds

Dale went on paper route & came home & him & Jerry got ready & Dean took them up to church & they went to Idaho City with Scouts after Xmas trees, got home at 6: & we went over & got our 3 trees, sure are nice.

R.R. called at 2:15 hunting Gail so Ivard, Jackie & I went out to Buttery & found them & got groc. Came home & made tamalee pie & we ate when Kids got home. wrapped Ivards presents.

Jerry, Dean & Dale got ready & went to Caldwell to Messiah. Guy came & fixed T.V. in front room. I washed my, Dean & Ivards hair.

At 8: we took Jackie up to Gails to stay all nite & I took Ivard to Glenns F. he was 2nd out & Sat. nite. He never did work. We went to Rickeys until midnite & danced & had Tom Collins. went to Ivards room & went to bed. My nite off.

Ivard came home

Cold & foggy when I came from work but pretty nice today. we got week end off. When I got home Ivard was here. He came on train & Jerry got him when he took Dean to Seminary. We went to bed & got warm & slept until about 11:30 when Gail called & woke us up. Ivard went out selling world book, no sale & I washed cloths & painted

Jerry went job hunting.

I got supper & we ate and Ivard & I went up town to R.R. & went Xmas shopping

We got mot all of Ivards presents. We got home about 9:30 & I was so tired. We went to bed early my nite off.

32 º when I came home this morning - cloudy all day. I read paper & went to bed at 9:30 & Jerry went up town & had oil change & greese job on Desoto for me.

I woke up at 1: & got up & washed 3 batches of cloths did socks. Ins guy came, Montague, & Phone Co. all afternoon. Jerry fixed supper & we ate & soon as Kids came from school & Jerry & Dean took Dale up town & got 4 Starts for Special Contest tonite for 2 hrs.

Kids went to Piano L. at 6: & when they got home Jerry took Dale again. I finished iorning 21 pieces & went to bed at 7:30 Jackie went to Primary.

Got letter from Ray

25 º in Nampa when I came home cloudy most of day, cool.

I came home from work & read the last 2 or 3 days papers & washed 3 batches of cloths went to bed at 11: & woke up at 3:30.

Jerry worked on genelogy all day & got supper.

Jackie & I went up town & she bought Ivard & Deans present for Xmas, got gas & came home & ate & put cloths away & Jackie did dishes.

Dean & Dale went to didnt go to Piano l. at 6:30, Mrs Hurren called & wanted them to come tomorrow nite so Jerry & Dean took Dale collecting for paper & I went to bed until time for work.

Got up at 10:30 & we went to bank & paid bills & Ivard droped me off at Relief Society work day. had real good lunchon & I said blessing. Ivard came & got me at 2: & I got my books up made out Payment. Jerry got supper & we ate when Kids came & at 5:15. Jerry, Dean & Dale went to Mutual early so Dean could practice organ. I went to bed at 5:30. Ivard left for Glenns F on 8:30 train & left car at depot & Jerry went & brought it home when I went to work at 11:

26 º  when I came home from work, 19 º  in Caldwell. Sunny & cold. I ate & went to bed at 9:, got up at 1:40. & washed some cloths & iorned 10 pieces & got supper & painted on Xmas calendar.

We ate at 4:30 & Jerry & Dean did dishes.

Ivard, Dale & Jackie went up to Gails & let him use car to go on World book appointment. He lost his car, didn't make payments. They brought them home

Kids painted, worked on genelogy & wrapped Xmas presents.

Jerry went job hunting this morning, no luck.

Ivard watched T.V. I went to work at 11: & Ivard followed me up town takeing Gail home & calling G.F. didn't work today.

Ivard got bumped out of Nampa

Sunny all day - cool

The train got into Nampa at 7:30 & Ivard & Dale were there to meet us. Came home & put things away & looked at mail & Ivard & I went to bed. Jerry - Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & sunday school.

I got up at 11: & had dinner ready when Kids got home we had our 2nd Thanksgiving dinner & father was home. this time turkey, dressing, turkey, gravy yams, potatoes, cranberry sauce, aspargus, lettuce & tomatoe salad & carrot pudding with carmel sauce. I washed & iorned & patched all afternoon, iorned 44 pieces. Dale had 3 boys here all afternoon. Jerry - Dean, Dale & Timothy Hogg left for church at 6:15, choir practice. Ivard & Jackie left at 7:15. I had bath & went to bed until time for work.

Got letter from Ray

stormy & snowed all morning & during nite. We got up & ate & got ready & went to Salt Lake & they took Ike to Dr. for his 6 week check up & shot and Gene called Dr. about his blood tests they were OK, doesn't have diabeties. We brought Ike & Claudia home & Kay Gene & I went down to Union furniture & I bought Ike a chrome high chair. Gene was sure excited, more than Kay Ike sure liked it too, he could see himself in chrome tray. Sally came & tended Ike & I took Kay, Claudia, Gene & Jackie to "Brattens Cove" & had dinner, seafood Place, real nice. We went up to Ruth & Rays awhile too. Kays day off.

At 6:45 Kay - Claudia & Gene took us in to depot to catch train for home, we left at 7:30, the train was packed. We slept pretty good in our seats.

got to Salt Lake

snow on ground & snowed on us during nite on way down. We got into depot at Salt Lake at 8: & Gene & Claudia were there to meet us. Gene sure looked good after 1 1/2 years, hes thinner but seems to feel OK. don't know whats wrong yet. Kay was to work. We went out to their place, Ike sure is growing. I went over to Petersons & called Ruth & Louies. Claudia fixed us breakfast & lunch & we had supper when she got back from Salt Lake at 5: from getting Kay. I went over & called Ruth Tovey. We all went out to Tooelle at 7: to see Mother - it was Bernieces Birthday & we had icecream & cake. Mother was feeling good. We left about 10: & got back to Kays after 11: & got to bed.

Jackie & I went to Salt Lake on train

Dale went on paper route & at 8: Ivard left for McCall for 2 days, he was going to lay off but Dale took call. I was sick, ear ache & bad cold, when I woke up.

I washed cloths & made cranberry relish jello salad, dressing, yams & cooked turkey & we ate at 3:, the 5 of us.

Gail went to Nyssa & I had to call him at 3: to come home & work at 4:

I painted all afternoon. Washed Jackies hair & she had bath & we packed & at 8: Jerry & Dean took us up to catch train for Salt Lake, left at 8:30. slept pretty good all nite on train.

I came home from work, got laid off until Sun. nite for holiday. I laid down for hr. & Ivard got up & went to Caldwell to Dr. for Ins. examination until noon. Gail & Lynda brought Kids & Jerry tended them for hr.

Ivard & I went up to Smiles & had lunch & went to Butterys & got turkey & groc. & to Safeway Came home & got supper & we ate when Kids came & Ivard & I & Jackie went up to Albertsons & got rest of groc. & some gas. made cranberry relish & put 2 batches in freezer & one for tomorrow. Made 3 carrot puddings. Had fire in fire place & watched T.V. Kids went to Piano L. Ivard didnt work.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & got in bed 15 min. to get warm then got ready to go to relief S., after I went & got groc. & came home & went to bed at 1: I woke up at 5: just as Kids were going out the door to go up to church to Scouts Chilli feed to raise money for ball uniforms. Jerry & Dale stayed to Mutual & Dean brought Jackie home & got  ready & went up to N.N.C to quill & Scroll banquet, he was made a member

Jerry fixed supper & I read paper. We ate & Dean did dishes. I went to bed at 7:15. Mother sent 2 baby quits she made for us for Xmas Presents.

We ate & Jackie & I dashed Ivard up to bus depot & he left at 5:25 for Glenns F. had to go to work before train got there. Made out payments & went to bed at 6:30 & Jerry mailed them when he went up & Paid R.R. Credit Union for me at 8:, after Dean & Dale came home from Piano L.

40 in Nampa when I came from work it was foggy in Caldwell. I got ready & went to relief S. & after I went to Edison Deals & canceled our Car Ins.

Jerry didn't work & at 1: Gail came & tok him to get drivers licence. Came home at 3:15 & Jerry went & got Dean & went to Central & got Dean  & Rays Driver training certificate so we could get new Ins.

I couldn't sleep so I got up & got supper. Made tuna loaf, jello, cottage cheese salad & Banna pudding.

I went to bed at 6:30 & Jackie did dishes & came to bed with me.

Salt Lake Mission office called & said Gene would be in Salt L. at 8:30 tonite

I called Ruth. Gene called me.

28 in Caldwell & 41 in Nampa when I came home & foggy. Sunny & nice all morning. cloudy this afternoon. I took Jerry to work & came home & read paper & went to bed at 9:30, at 12:30 phone woke me. It was Salt L. Mission headquarters calling to say that Gene would arrive at airport there at 8:30 P.M & would have a letter of explanation on him. They wanted to know if I'd had word or knew what was wrong. They will meet him if they can't contact Kay. I called Ruth too to make sure Kay knew. I washed cloths & put them away & patched & embroidered. I fixed supper & went after Jerry but he'd got ride home We ate & I went to bed & Jerry took Dean over to Ediths & he went to leadership meeting with her. I was just leaving for work when Kay & Gene called, got in at 8:40 said he was all right & not to worry. I'd get letter from Mission President in few days.

Dean got up & took Dale on his Paper route. Jerry, Dean & Dale left for priesthood & had car stop on them out by our lane stop sign so Jerry walked back up & got other car & took Jackie & they went to S.S. I washed socks & rugs & cooked dinner, stuffed peppers & worked on tri-chem.

I got up & had a bath & got ready & at 9:15 Dean took me over to Johnsons & I went to Boise with her & 4 other ladies to all day Tri-Chem meeting, had lunch there at 12:30, chicken, cost me 1.80. I came home at 5:30, with Beulah Barnhill.

Jerry never got home from work until after 6: We ate supper & I went to bed & read papers & got warm then got up & made some tea & washed cloths & painted & watched late show. My nite off.

I came home from work & Jerry had gone to unemployment office to see about job, didn't find anything. He didn't work today.

Castinetto came all morning about Ins. on house loan, furni. ect & Car, Farmers canceled us out.

Ivard had to Catch noon train for G.F. so Jerry took him up to R.R. & came home & we went to Buttery & Safeway & got groc. & some for 2 yr. supply. Came home & got supper & ate when Kids came from school & I went to bed at 5:15, I was dead they got me up at 7:15 & Jerry, Dean Jackie & I went over to Hoge;s to Edith's Stanley Party & Dale went to bed. 24 ° when I came through Caldwell. cloudy, little sun. 54 ° today. Ivard went to work at 8: AM on Marshing local. Jerry was to work, had dodge winterized anti-freeze - gresse job & oil change new filter.

I came home from work & ate & had bath & read paper & went to Relief Society work meeting. had nice lunch. I went to bank & over to Home Federal & started a Savings account for Dale. Came home at 2: & went to bed. Kids woke me up at 5:30 to eat & at 6:10 they left for Mutual, Dad had to practice organ.

Ivard came right after Kids left, me & Jackie were in bed & had to get up & got get him. It was about 7:30 went to bed until time to go to work.

Sunny & warm today chilly in nite. I came home from work & Ivard had just got home from work. We went to bed & Ivard gave me a good rub down. I was so made, he brought them at 11:30 & never came until nearly 6: I haven't had any sleep all week. Ivard tended baby & made cake & jello & got supper.

Dean took first scholarship test

I came home from work & took Jerry to work.

Dean went up to H.S. at 7: AM to take first Scholarship test.

I mixed bread, made 2 loaves white, 2 loves oatmeal raisin & 3 pans cinnamon rolls. changed beds & washed. Ivard cleaned my room & went to work on Emmett at 11:30.

Dean & I made bed, & he cleaed down stairs & Kitchen.

Dale went with his paper guy getting new starts.

Jerry got done at 1: & Dean went & got him.

Dale got enough starts to win his trip to San Francisco.

I came home from work & Ivard was gone to work, no one knew where. I took Jerry to work & came home & went to bed.

No school today - teachrs Institute.

Dean had all Kids fed & they were out playing. I woke up at 1: & Dean hadn't even done dishes, he fixed Kids lunch. I embroidered Relief S pillow slips. At 3:30 we took Debbie & Kristine home & I went to Primary with Jackie, to her class party. When we got home Ivard was home, been to Weiser. We went after Jerry but he'd come home. Jerry went & got groc. & fixed supper. Ivard & I went to bed at 7: Ivard was sick, I went to work at 11:

Sunny & nice, got to 74

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:30. I woke up at 1:15.

Ivard went up to R. R to see about job & put some money in bank for Ray.

I got up & washed some cloths & cooked supper. We went up to school & picked Dale & Jackie up at 3: & Dale went to Piano lesson early. Dean went at 4:15 when he got home.

We ate at 6: & I got my books up. I went to bed & Ivard rubbed me good with lotion. He & Jackie & Dale went over to Gails & brought Debbie & Kristine home to stay all nite. Kids all went to bed early. Ivard stayed up & watched late show when I left for work.

Ivard didn't work again today.

I called Ray

Sunny most of day. rained most of nite & warmer.

I came home from work & Ivard was still in bed, He didn't work today.

I read paper, ate & washed batch of cloths & got ready & went to relief Society at 9:40. Ivard was still asleep after R.S. I went to bank to check on Rays checking account.

I came home at 1: & went to bed & never woke up until 5: & I got supper. Gail & family came & got Rays World boks, then brought them back, thought he was going to sell them but didn't.

We ate & Jerry, Dean & Dale left for Mutual at 6: so Dean could practice organ.

I went to bed until time to go to work

I came home from work & went to bed until 10:; Ivard came back to bed. I went to Irene Johnson's to Paint class at 10:30 & came home at 2:40. I painted my Initials on bag I made at class & ate & went to bed at 3:30

Ivard had gone to work on Wilder local.

I woke up at 5:30 when Jerry called for some one to come & get him, Dean went. Dean fixed supper. I read paper in bed.

At 6:30 Jerry & Dean went up town then went to Mutual meeting.

I stayed in bed until time to go to work.

Sunny but cooler.

I read Paper in bed & got up when Jerry, Dean & Dale left for Priesthood.

Ivard got up & got ready & him & Jackie went to Sunday S. I washed 5 batches of cloths & cooked dinner, made cake & jello too baked squash. We ate when they came home about 12:30 & Jackie did dishes.

Jerry & Dean went over to Stake H. to meeting. Ivard watched ball game & had nap.

I painted all afternoon & put clothes up.

Ivard didn't work today.

I had a bath & Ivard, Jackie & I went to Church at 7: Jerry Dean & Dale went at 6:30 for choir practice. I laid down until time to go to work at 11: Ivard got bumped. Went on extra board

Dean cleaned up house & I iorned all day long got it all done up. embroidered some.

Jackie went up to Debbies at noon when Dean took Jerry back from lunch & she went skateing at roller drome. Dean got her at 5:30 when he got Jerry. He went & got hair cut this afternoon & I washed it I made big Kettle of chilli

We ate when Jerry got home & watched T.V.

Ray & Evelyn schulthies came tonite for awhile.

Ivard got home at 10:30 & we watched show.

Dean left at 9:, went with Barbra Jenkins. Jerry went to bed early.

I took Ivard to work at 6: AM after I cooked breakfast for all of them, hot cakes, bacon & eggs. Got Ivard's check & came home & Kids went to school & Jerry went to work. I read papers & embroidered all morning & washed some cloths. Jerry came home for lunch & I took him back to work & went to bank, Pd. place & bills. Came home & got supper & we ate when Jerry got home. Dean went & got him. I made chilli.

At 6: Jerry & I took Dean up to church to practice organ & we went up town & laid away some Xmas Presents at Pennys & Woolworths then we went to Grand Opening of Owyhee Shopping center on 12th,  got Dean & came home at 7:30 & Nancy & her Mother came & we saw slides Gene sent. They left at 10:15 & I went & got Ivard.

Kids went to school & Jerry left for work. Ivard didn't have to go until 10: today he went over to Venice Buells & got my & Jerrys check she got for us. Plant is down until Sun. nite. I embroideried & fixed Deans tax money to turn in. Jerry came home at noon for luch & I took him back to work & went up to Superior Western at 1: & Andree cut & tinted my hair. I went & bought 4 flannel shirts for Ivard for Xmas & got some hair nets, clips, ect. & groc. Came home & made hambergers & trimmings for supper & we ate when Jackie came from Primary & Jerry got home from work. Ivard was home when I got home about 4:

Kids went to school & Ivard went to work at Nyssa left at 6: & Jerry went to work at 8: I read paper in bed & got up about 9: & ate & washed some cloths & embroideried all day on relief Society Pillow cases.

Avon lady delivered my stuff $37. & I ordered another 12.

I got supper & we ate when Jerry got home & he did dishes & Dean & Dale went to Piano l. Jerry & I & Sis watched T.V. & Jerry worked on genelogy.

Ivard came about 8:30 got bumped & took factory job for tomorrow.

We went to bed at 10:30. I laid off, flowing too much

I came home from work & took Jerry to work & came home & got ready & went to relief S. work day at 9:, made door wind chimes all but putting together, made them out of plastic crystals & baked them. had good lunch. Came home at 2: & went to bed a little while, after I cleaned up. I gushed all over my self at R.S.

We ate supper & Jerry, Dean & Dale left for Mutual at 6: so Dean could practice organ & Dale went out & got 6 new starts Ivard got home at 8:30 he'd got bumped & went to New Meadows yesterday but it was mistake & yard master went & got him at 5: AM & brought him back & he went on Nyssa today.  Got bumped again tonite & took factory job. we watched movie & went to bed. I laid off

I came home from work & took Jerry to work. Ivard had already taken Dale on paper route, forgot to get up, & gone to Nyssa to work.

I washed a batch of cloths ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:45. I woke up at 2:45 & washed another batch of cloths & put cloths away, made out Hobbycraft order & got supper. Dean went & got Jerry & he showered & we ate at 6:10 when Dales paper guy left, collected this mo. bill.

at 6:30 Jerry & Dean left for Boise to genelogy library. Jackie did dishes & I went to bed at 6:30, don't feel good.

I went to work at 11: Ivard still wasn't home. Called home at 11:45 & again at 6:30 AM. never did come

I came home from work & Ivard had just got here from G. F. on train & Kids went & got him. Jerry took Dale on his paper route. Jerry, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & S.S. & Ivard & I went to bed. Jackie got Ivard up at 10: & he took her up to S.S. I got up when Kids came home & helped Jerry get dinner & we ate & Jerry & Dean did dishes & Dean went to Practice to sing in Conference.

Ivard watched world series & Jerry & I listened to my new records. Ivard & I played Scrabble & Ivard had bath.

Jerry & Dean left at 5: for Roger Kotter's farewell. Ivard, Dale, & Jackie went to church & I had bath & went to bed. went to work at 11:

I came home from work& Jerry was to work & Dean was cleaning the house. I ate & read paper & changed all the beds & washed everything up & filled neighbors lines. I went to bed at 12:30 & woke up at 3:45 & got up & got cloths in & washed some more. Jerry got home at 1: for day & helped Dean clean and he got supper.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed, Ivard was still in bed, & gave me a good rub down. He got up at 10:30 & went up town all day got home at 5:30. Got new points & plugs in Desoto, anti-freeze new oil seat & changed oil in rear end. I got up at 3:30 & cleaned up & did a little Patching.

Dale went collecting & Dean did last nites dishes. Jerry came home & we fixed supper.

We ate & Dale went collecting. I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & went to bed at 9: & got up at 3: Jerry went to Boise for couple of Job interviews & came home & went to work for Doug Pallisen.

I washed some cloths & made cake & a rice pudding for breakfast & got supper. Ivard called at 5: & I went & got him & we ate when Jackie got home from work.

Dale went collecting after school & got home at 7:30

I went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work.

I came home from work & ate & went to bed at 9: Jerry had to be in Boise to see about Job, didn't get it, no car. hunted all day.

I woke up at 1:30 & got up & washed some cloths, made jello & read my new relief society magazine & papers.

Jerry got home same time Kids came from school & we ate.

We came home from work & Ivard was home in bed, got here 1: AM I read paper & ate & read my relief society lesson & got ready & went to relief society at 9:45. I came home at noon & Ivard was gone he never got home until 4:30, been selling I went to bed at 12:30 & Lynda woke me up at 2:30, calling.

Jerry had bath & went to bed & never got up until 3:45

I got supper & we ate when Kids got home.

Kids left for Mutual at 6:, Dale went swimming & Dean had to practice organ. Ivard did dishes & I went to bed. Ivard rubbed me good all over with lotion. I'm so tired. never got to sleep until 9: Ivard went to World Book meeting at Homestead & I took him to catch 11:30 train on my way to work. Jerry laid off
