1- Loose a lot of weight (100 lbs)

2 - Be a Better Wife and Mother

3 - Pay My Titheing

4 - Save Some Money Out of Each of My Checks (at least $5.)

5 - Not buy anything On Time

6 - Not Swear or Cuss

7 - Count to 10 - Don't yell at any one

8 - Study Some each day

9 - Do genelogy Reserch

10 - Write Mother & Kay each week

11 - Go to All of My Meetings

12 - Wash my face twice a day & brush my hair good.

13 - Don't drink any More Tea

14 - go to All of My Meetings

15 - Write My history to Date

Monday, December 31, 1962

Sunny & little breeze. dried a batch of cloths out after noon.

Played games with Kids & worked on books.

Jerry went to work at D. q at 11: until 5: getting ready to open tomorrow.

Ivard called at 3:15 just got in from McCall. I went & got him & we got his check & paid place got some gas & took up & put in his car & I gave him a push. I stoped & got few groc. Ivard watered cows & had bath & we ate when I fixed supper then Ivard & Jackie went to bed because Ivard got called brakeing to Nyssa when his rest was up at 11:30. he got up at 10: & drove to Nyssa to work. Jerry went to Stake House to M-Men Gleaner dance & Party after at Alices.

I wrote Kay, didn't get it finished. I spent new years Eve alone with Dean & Dale. We watched "Broadway Melody" on T.V. Kids went to bed at 12:30 & I burned 1/3 pkg of tea & waited a hr before it cought & finally burned, fire place fire was about out. I've made up my mind to stop breaking the word of Wisdom & recking my health with the awful habit I've had for 10 yrs., of drinking iced tea. Another New Years resolution, I'm going to try very hard to loose a lot of weight starting in the morning, Jan 1st, I also am going to write my history this year & try very hard to do a lot of genelogy.

I'm going to try very hard to be a better wife & mother and go to church more. I pray the lord will help me to keep these resolutions in this brand new year.

It is now 2:20 A.M. already that old, I hope it is a good year for our family

I'm going to bed now & will pray that it will be.

sunny & not very cold.

I stayed in bed late & read paper.

Jerry - & Dean went to go to Priesthood but couldn't start car so Jerry stayed home, he doesn't feel good any way. Mr. Gragerson came & took Dean to Priesthood Dale walked up to corner & met Perrys & went to Sunday School. Jackie is sick, I kept her in bed all day. Jerry got car started at noon & went & got some gas & milk. Jerry cooked dinner & we ate when Kids got home & Dean & Dale did dishes.

Played Rook.

Sis & I watched T.V. & Jerry took Dean & Dale to church, brought them home after & went to Fireside.

got letter from Kay

nice day

I got up & took Ivard up to Round House. He got called brakeing to McCall at 9: until Monday.

I washed some cloths & played games with Kids.

Jerry worked up to Dairy q. all afternoon with Mr. Johnson getting it cleaned up.

We left Jackie alone watching T.V & I took Dean & Dale up & got a haircut. I got a sack of coal while I waited. left Dale drying a batch of overalls at U wash & brought Dean home with Sis. went back & got Dale & cloths & came home & cooked supper. Hales came & fixed dryer tonite. We ate at 6: when Jerry came. We watched T.V. & Jerry went to decorate for New Years Eve dance

Friday, December 28, 1962

Sunny & nice.

We ate late - Jerry was sick & laid down most of day.

Ivards day off but they called up & wanted him to mark up on brakemans board, they needed men, so he did & left on Wilder local at 3: We were going to Gails.

At 3:30 Gene 0 Dean & Dale left for Nyssa in Pick-up, he had a date & I iorned all afternoon.

At 9: Ivard called & said he was off but had run out of gas. I went & got him & we left his car at work & headed for Nyssa; got there at 9:45 & Lynda had supper all ready for us; Kids had eaten. We ate "Anchalatas"? mexican didn't see Gene, he stayed all nite. We came home at 11:30. Jerry stayed home in bed.

Ray left for Utah

Jackie went home with Gail

I never woke up until 9: then I worked on my books & Dean got breakfast & we ate & he did dishes & Ray went up town & exchanged his small Xmas presents. Donna called & said Micky couldn't come. Gail - Lynda & Kids came & they played games & Jerry & I went to Caldwell & got my check from Simplots then we went & bought $35. worth of groc. & I signed up for unemployment. Came home & fixed supper but Gail didn't stay, they went over to Gene Haney's. We ate at 6: They came back about 9: & took Jackie home to stay all nite.

Ivard took Ray up to catch the 8:20 train for Salt Lake

Sunny & cold

never got up until 9: then I made biscuits & we ate about 10: Jerry didn't get to eat a bunch of Gleaners came & got him & they went to "Pine Top" & spent the day, got home at 6:

Ivard went up to R.R. & made out a slip to float & went to work at 3: was home by 10:

I iorned 36 pieces while Ivard & Kids played games.

Ray went with bunch of Kids all afternoon playing basketball & over at Stake House decorating.

Dean fixed supper & we ate at 5: & him & Dale did dishes. Jerry came home & changed & went with a Kid until 11:30. Gene & Ray went to ball game & got home about 10:15.

We watched "A Tree grows in Brooklyn" lasted till 2: A.M. Dean, Dale & Jackie went to bed at 9:

Tuesday, December 25, 1962

Sunny & cold

no one woke up until 7:45. Ivard made a fire in fireplace & we opened our presents. We all really had a good Xmas.

Ivard & I cooked breakfast, bacon eggs, toast, cocoa & grapefruit, after we ate Dean & Gene did dishes & we got our things put up. Ivard got bumped but floated on 3: job got paid double & was home in couple of hrs.

We played games & records

We ate lunch supper & Ray & Jerry did dishes.

Jerry & Ray went to Murrys & Alices, then again that nite.

Gene went to Nyssa to Schulthies about 4: & got home after we were in bed.

Played games with Kids & watched T.V.

Monday, December 24, 1962

made cookies & candy & fixed a bowl full & took Kotters.

We ate & I washed cloths & we cleaned up & wrapped last few things.

Ray had to work at Dairy queen all day cleaning up.

Gail, Lynda & Kids came for couple of hrs & brought our presents & Gene went home with them to see if he could get on at Sugar factory. Ivard took me out to Hurrens to get a book I ordered for Jerry & he went to work at 3:45.

Jerry took me up town to get a few things for socks & some groc. he bought, I was broke.

We ate & they did dishes & at 8:30 Jerry, Ray & Dean got alice & Pat & Forrest, & Phill & Murry girl & went to Nyssa & got Gene, he didn't get on. They got home about same time as Ivard & we Played Santa & went to bed.

Read paper in bed. got up & Ivard, Jerry - Gene, Ray & Dean went to Priesthood & sunday school

Jackie, Dale & I went to sunday school. We all came home & Jerry - Ray & Dean wet to Stake House to meeting for hr. I fixed dinner & we ate & Ivard went to work. We watched T.V. & Jerry - Gene, Ray - Dean Dale & Jackie went to church I didn't feel very good so I stayed home alone. They brought little Kids home & big Kids went to fireside.

I went to bed early.

when we woke up Jerry was gone to "Pine Top" to sped the day

Ivard took Jackie up to Superior Western & left her to get a hair cut while he went shopping. She even pd for it.

Dean moved all the furn. different & scrubbed & waxed floors, Ivard helped him move stuff. I washed cloths & went up town & got a few things.

Ivard went to work at 4:

Jerry came home & fixed supper & made a cake.

Ray worked at Dairy q. all day then they closed for holiday week. At 7: Jerry & Ray went to Homestead to Dairy q. Party.

Gene got home from Nyssa at 5: he stayed home alone & Dean, Dale, Me & Jackied went up to Ward Xmas Party for hr. watched T.V.

Friday, December 21, 1962

Mother was supposed to get here today but had an attack of gallstones & couldn't come, had note from Berniece

nice.

We got laid off today for holidays & when they got back Jan. 7 there will only be about 50 with men. I doubt if I work again this season I read paper & went to bed. Jerry woke me up at noon to eat a hamberger he'd got at D.q. washed some cloths and about 3:30 Ivard & I & Jerry went up town & Jerry got his laways out. We got Gail & Lynda a 6 place setting of Melmar at Safeway for extra Xmas present. Got 16 volume set of Natural Science books for Dean.

When we got home Gene had left for Nyssa

We ate supper & Jerry went Carroling.

Ray worked 5:30 to 10:

Thursday, December 20, 1962

foggy

We got to Rexburg at 3: A.M & woke Kids up & headed back home & it was real foggy all the way. We got home at 9:30 & got Jackie & headed for Nyssa. never even stoped for anything to eat. We took Philips home & went on to Gails & took their Xmas presents then Gene took Marvin home. We went to store & got a bunch of groc., a ham & turkey, for holidays. when we got back Lynda had dinner ready & we ate & left for home. got here at 3: & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Jerry went to deliver M-Men gleaner needy family basket

Wednesday, December 19, 1962

Went to Rexburg & got Gene

real foggy all last nite & most all day - cloudy. had our Xmas dinner at work.

I came home from work & read paper & watched T.V. I went to bed at 10:30 & Ivard got up. Him & Jackie took Jerry to work at 11: & went & got car greesed & oil change, new filter & filled it with gas. Came home at 12:30 & woke me up with a drink then Ivard got Jackie to sleep out in front room & he came to bed awhile. He left for work at 3:45 & I washed a batch of cloths & dried over stove & cleaned up a little. Dale came home & got money & went to Cub Scouts, Dean went to cub S. from school, hes new den chief.

Ray came home & watched T.V. & him & Jerry went to Boise Xmas shopping for M-Men Gleaner needy family. Ivard got off work at 9:00 & I took his cloths up & we headed for Rexburg to get Kids it was foggy nearly all the way. I laid off.

Tuesday, December 18, 1962

cloudy & misty - warm

Came home from work & read paper & ate & went to bed at 9:30. I woke up at 2: but laid in bed until 3: then got up & took Jackie to dance class & Xmas party, we went & got Dale at school & took him as a guest. got home at 5:

Ray stayed home from school today sick, cold then went to work tonite 6: to close. Went a half hr. early to tell his girl goodbye before she went back east.

Ivard - Jerry & Ray got the big Xmas tree in & got it decorated

Ivard went to work at 4:

Jerry took Ray to see his girl & to work so he could have the car to go to M-Men Gleaners.

Jerry had supper ready when we got home from dance class.

I went to bed at 6:30 until time to go to work

Rained most of nite & on & off all day.

My 28th wedding anniversary & Ivard never said a word, didnt even tell me goodbye before he went to wok then for supper Kids gave me a present he left for me - a Westinghouse Hair dryer. I left him a card on pillow with $10. in.

I ate & read paper & went to bed at 10: & woke up at 3:

Jerry & Jackie were up town all day & Ivard went to work at 3:30

Jerry - Ray & I went up town while Dean fixed supper & got cow payment & paid lites & I got Ivards card & we mailed Lyle, Mother & Donna's Xmas pkgs. Kids did some shopping.

We ate & I got books up & Dean did dishes & Ray & Dean went to Mutual. I went to bed

Jerry & Dean went to Priesthood & sunday school

I stayed in bed late & read paper

Ivard took Dean & Dale & they went to sunday school.

I washed socks & cooked dinner & spent all afternoon wrapping Xmas presents, until my back killed me, got them all done. It was 7: time I got done & I went to bed until time to go to work, me & Sis.

Ivard went to work at 3:

Ray worked at D.Q. 11: to 5: today.

rained tonite, 42 degrees when we went to work at 11:15.

Saturday, December 15, 1962

Rained most of day & nite.

Got up & fixed breakfast & Jerry & I took Dale up town & bought him basketball shoes, sock & shorts for little legue ball & a pr. new sunday shoes. got Mother;s Xmas present & a few other things & came home & Ivard took Dale to play ball & droped Jackie off at Brenda Pallison's birthday Party. They brought her home.

I made out payment & worked on my books all afternoon & at 6: Jerry & I went up town & Paid Alexanders on Genes cloths & mailed payments.

Ivard went to work at 4:

Friday, December 14, 1962

cloudy & sunny - not cold.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & Ivard went up & got his check biggest hes got for years. $346. I figured out what to do with it then Ivard and I Jerry & Jackie went to bank & paid some bills then we went to Caldwell & put $20. in Kays Savings account for his birthday & Xmas & got Dale a watch at Gold Strike center then we went to Boise & had dinner at "Louies", chow mein, then we went Xmas shopping all afternoon it was 6: when we got back to Nampa & I was dead so we stoped at Dairy q. & had supper & Ivard went down & brought Dean & Dale up too. Ray was working - till close.

Came home & had dire in fire place & watched T.V. I went to bed at 10:30 - I was dead.

Got letter from Kay

I came home from work & ate, read paper & watched T.V. messed around until 11: then took Jerry to work at D.Q. & we went on over to Nyssa to see Gail but they weren't home. We went up town & bought groc & 15 lbs butter then went to Gails & waited awhile but they didn't show up so we came home. drove out past Blanch's but their car wasnt there, got home at 3:30 & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivards day off.

Jerry & Ray went ward teaching then Ray went to ball practice.

dreary & cloudy all day - breeze

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:30 Ivard & Jackie had gone to Meridian after a pick-up load of slab wood they came & unloaded & at 10: went after a 2nd load.

Jerry went to work at 11: at D.Q. & woke me up to listen to phone for Ivard, he bid on a day job. I made me some tea & got my books up.

Ivard went to work

We ate when Jerry got home & Ray went to work.

I went to bed until time to go to work but never did get to sleep (today.)

cloudy all day - not too cold.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:30 after I washed a batch of cloths. Jerry dried them over stove. I got woke up at 12: & just laid in bed trying to go to sleep until 3: then I got up & took Jackie to dancing class. We stoped at D.Q. & had a Sundee. Got home at 6: & Jerry had supper ready. Dale went to cub scouts after school then tonite Jerry droped him & Dean off at church to Pack meeting on his way to M-Men & gleaners. Ray went to play basketball.

Ivard went to work at 4:

Jackie & I went to bed at 6:30.

I went to work at 11:15 & Jerry & Ray were both home.

Sent letter to Kay & Gene

cloudy all day - not cold - breeze

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed.

Ray didn't get up in time to go to school so he stayed home today & decorated the matle & made a decoration for T.V. & made 2 to sell.

Ivard didn't work today.

I got up at 3: & went up town with Jerry & Ray. We bought a Xmas tree & Ray got a little one & told Kids that was all we were going to have. We hid big one till Xmas eve. We met Ivard & Jackie up town shopping.

Came home & Jerry fixed supper & we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Dean went to Mutual & Jerry went away. Ivard & Ray & Jackie went to ball game. Our ward won.

Sunday, December 9, 1962

Gene got picked on Junior College All Star team. Was in Paper today.

Misty all day, but not foggy

Ivard went on beet run at 7: A.M came home a hr for lunch & worked till     .

I read paper in bed.

Jerry took Ray & Dean up to Priesthood & Sunday S. then came back & I took him to work at Dairy Q. 11: to 5: Kids got ready & I took Dale & Jackie up to Sunday School then I iorned about 15 pieces & washed my hair & cooked dinner. Went & got Kids at 1:20 & we ate & Dean & Dale did dishes & Ray went to get his Polio shot & went to work at D.Q. 3: to 10:

I got books up.

4 Gregerson Kids came & watched Wizzard of Oz with Kids.

Jerry had to speak in 3rd Ward with High Council.

I wrote to Kay & Gene

Ivard came home at 7: & I went to bed until time to go to work. Kids went to church.

Saturday, December 8, 1962

Foggy all day & misty.

I fixed breakfast & washed up all the dirty cloths & changed my bed. Ivard cleaned our room & I helped him make bed.

Ivard went & got a hair cut & drive shaft broke on pick-up so he had Dobbs tow him in & they fixed it.

I iorned all afternoon & Jerry took Dale Xmas shopping.

Dean scrubbed & cleaned house & changed furniture around.

Ray worked at D.Q. 10: to 6:

Dean & I took Ivard up to dry 3 batches of cloths at washeteria & we went shopping & got groc.

At 2: we all went up & had our 2nd Oral Polio but Ray & he's going tomorrow. We ate & Jerry went to work at 6: till close & Ray came home & went on a date. We watched T.V.

My nite off & Ivard didn't work today either.

Friday, December 7, 1962

nice day.

I came home from work a half hr. late, made the riders waite out in cold & fog while I borrowed $350. from Simplot Credit Union. I read paper & ate & washed some cloths & Jerry wrapped presents & tended Jackie while Ivard & I went to bank, Pd. Hales & bills then we went to Caldwell & put $7. worth of dimes in my bank & went to S&H & Gold Strike Center & got some Xmas Presents. We went to Bullocks in Nampa & bought Ray a gold watch & band for Xmas & Gene a new watch band. Got Dean a Elgin watch with Stamps. Came home & I laid down a couple of hrs but couldn't sleep, Ivards back on brakeman board, missed

We had supper & Jerry & I went up town shopping. & Ray went to work at D.Q. 6: to 10:30. I watched T.V. a little while & went to bed, Ivard stayed up & watched show. My Nite off.

Sunny - nice day

I came home from work & read paper & watched T.V. awhile. went to bed at 10: & woke up at 1:30 & got my books up.

Jerry went selling Xmas cards all day.

Ivard went to work at 4:

Jerry went & met Ray at 3:30 & took Ray to Dr to have bandage on feet changed & took Jackie to Primary they brought kids home & Jerry got supper ready while Dean & I went out to Hurrens & bought a genelogy book for Lyle for Xmas & Dean typed some things & put in it.

Ray went to school to club meeting.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

beautiful day - blue sky - sunny & breezy & nice

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:30. I woke up at 2: & Ivard was asleep & Jackie was out burning garbage.

Jerry went to work at D.Q 11: to 6:

Ivards day off - Just loped around as usual.

I cooked a pork loin roast & made dressing & gravy & Ivard cooked & mashed potatoes.

Dale went to Cub Scouts & when he got home we ate.

Ray went to work at D.Q. 6: to close & Jerry came home.

I went back to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:30. I woke up at 2:15 but never got up until 3:. I got ready & took Jackie to her dancing class. It was 5:45 before we got out so we went up to Dairy Q. & had a drink & waited to take Jerry home. He worked 11: to 6:

Joe Metcalf brought our pick-up home from Lyles & our Xmas presents from them.

Ivards day off, he went up this morning & made a loan at Bank to pay Dobbs for fixing cars.

We ate & Ivard & Ray went to Middleton to ball games, wouldn't take Sis after he promised her, she was heart broken. I took her to bed. Jerry went to M-Men - I went to work at 11:15

Sent letter to Kay & Gene last nite

Sunny this morning, cloudy this afternoon & warmer today.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:30. I woke up at 2:30 & got up.

Ivard took car up to Dobbs for Motor tune-up & few things fixed & they brought it home at 5: & Jerry took guy back.

Ivard went to work at 3:30.

Ray went to foot Dr. after school.

Jerry made a beef stew & I made biscuits & put on top & we ate at 4:30.

Dean did dishes

Jackie & I went to bed at 7: Jerry took Kids to Mutual & went up town Xmas shopping won a Jantez Sweater at I.D.

I went to work at 11:15

Jerry took Ray to work at D.Q at 9:30 to 6: We read paper in bed. Ivard got up & fed cows & him, Jerry, & Dean went to Priesthood & sunday school & Fast meeting. Ivard came home at 11:45 & got Jackie & Dale. I washed a batch of cloths & dried over stove, dryer broke). Got books up - cooked dinner & made Ivards lunch.

They got home from church at 2:40 & I had dinner all on table & we ate & Ivard took Jerry up to work on his way. They both had to be there at 3:

I went up to D.Q at 5: & got Ray & mailed my letters.

I went to bed at 6:30 until time to go to work.

Stormy & cold

I got up & fixed breakfast & we ate after Ivard took Ray up to work at D.Q 9:30 to 6: Jerry was already gone, had an appointment with lawyer about his car, came home & ate with us. I didn't do anything all day, played Scrabble, watched T.V. & washed a batch of cloths. Jerry went to Boise at 11: Xmas shopping & got home at 5:30.

Ivard took Dale & Jackie up town at 1: to see Santa come on helicopter he went to work at 2:45, after he brought them home.

Dean did up work & made a cake

I took Jerry to work at 6: up to D.Q. & brought Ray home. Ray got ready & went & got Phill & they took their girls to Boise to dance (in our car) never got home until 2: A.M.

I watched T.V. until it went off air Ivard got home at 10: & watched too.
