Tuesday, October 31, 1961

Jackie got birthday card & $1. from Mother. And birthday card from Ruth.

Cloudy & rained some. Jackie was 5.

I came home from work & read paper, made cinnamon apple, Jello salad & baked beans for supper. I went to bed at 11: & got up at 2: & we went & Pd. place & got Jackies birthday cake & icecream, picked Dale up at school. Came home & Ivard went to work & Dale went to his last little legue ball game.

I made 2 meat loaves & when Jerry came we had Jackies birthday supper. baked beans, Jello salad, cottage cheese, meat loaf, olives & potoate chips & cidar Jerry bought. We didn't even cut cake, fancy haloween decorated one, or have any icecreame, every one was too full. Dean, Dale & Jackie went Trick or treeting after we opened her presents 6 pr. pantys, 5 pr. anklets, 3 dollars, coin perse, 2 books, paint book, crayons, tablet, sewing card & dance bag for her things.

Ray went to Seminary Party & Gene went with Kurt. I went to bed at 8: till time to go to work.

Monday, October 30, 1961

got letter from Kay

Kids got home from Nyssa just in time for school, Ray missed Seminary & Jerry had to take Pick-up to work cause Genes car wasn't home.

I came home from work & read paper & washed a batch of cloths & went to bed. I got up at noon & hung cloths out.

Ivard feels awful - stomache flue

Roto-Rooter came & pumped 2 loads out of septic tank, $30. Johnson Electric came to see about hooking up dryer & we will have to rewire & put in new panal, $125. he's comeing Thursday Jackie & I went to bank, pd. lites, got groc. came home & Ivard left for work at 3:45.

I went to bed at 4: & Dean got supper then Jerry, Gene, Ray & Dean went to Mutual haloween Party. I went to work at 11:

mailed letter to Lyle & Claudia

sunny & windy.

Ivard got up & did chores & had a bath & came back to bed, he has stomach flue.

Jerry - Dean & Dale went to conference.

I read paper & got up & worked on books.

I had a bath & Jackie & Kids came home & took us to conference. Ivard didn't feel like going. It was real good, Gordon B. Hinckley was up. Got home at 3:30 & Ivard left for work at 3:45. We ate at 4:, Jerry was down to church decorating for M.I.A. Party.

I wrote Lyle & Claudia & mailed on my way to work.

Dean did dishes & milked.

Jerry went to conference tonite & Stake M. Men - Gleaner fireside.

I went to bed at 7: & got up at 11: & went to work at 11:30.

Kids didn't get home.

Saturday, October 28, 1961

sunny, hard cold wind all day.

I got up early & started washing cloths. did 6 batches, changed Kids beds.

Gene left for Nyssa at 8: for week end.

Ivard got up & did chores, he doesn't feel good.

Jerry got home from work about 1: & cleaned up his room & made big Kettle of punch this afternoon.

Dale & I went up town & got Jackies birthday presents & few groc. & Dale some school things.

We ate dinner at 3: & Ivard left for work at 3:45.

Dean cleaned his bed room & the front room & Kitchen & did dishes & chores.

I started to iorn at 4: & mever quit until 9:30, didn't get done.

Jerry wrote letters & Dean poped us some corn.

I watched T.V. My nite off. Ivard came at 12: & we watched late show.

Friday, October 27, 1961

rained hard on & off all day & most of nite.

I came home from work & read paper & messed around. Went to bed at 10:30 but Kept getting woke up.

Gene came home for lunch & he left for Twin Falls about 2: with team. He didn't even take his suite, his leg too bad. They got beat 10 to 0. He got home at 1: A.M.

When Kids got home Ivard & I went & pd. some bills & I laid some things away for Xmas.

We ate supper & Jerry took Ray to Adrians home comeing game then Ray stayed the week-end with Gail.

Ivard & I played Scrabble, listened to football game & watched T.V. Kids played.

My & Ivards nite off.

Ivard & Jackie went out to Max Barlows & got some feed & brought Lester Jones for 70's calf. hauled garbage.

Thursday, October 26, 1961

Came home from work & read paper & went to bed. cloudy & rainy all day.

Ivard & Jackie went & got groc. & pd. some bills & got gas in car for me.

Got Ivards Ins. check & got some fuel oil & made a fire & got warmed up, havn't had one for 2 days.

Ivard bought a roast & came home & cooked it.

Brenda Small came & played this afternoon with Jackie & Ivard took them to Primary & went & got Jackie after.

Ivard had potatoes cooked & I got up & made gravy & we ate when Jerry got home.

Ivards day off.

I didn't sleep very good today, cold. Went back to bed until time to go to work. Ray got home from work late - Jerry went away.

Wednesday, October 25, 1961

windy & cold.

I came home from work & went to bed. no fuel oil & no money. I gathered up wood & made a fire in fire place tonite to warm up plac.

I got up at 12: & got ready & took Jackie to her dancing lesson, borrowed a heating pad from Mrs Kotter for Genes sore leg - (muscles).

Ivard & Jackie took my car up this morning & had anti-freeze put in it.

Ivard went to work at 3:45.

Dale came home from school & went to Cub scouts. He had to furnish the treats & bought them on the way.

Got supper & we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Jerry went to meeting. Ray was late getting home from work.

Tuesday, October 24, 1961

Sunny & nice.

Jerry got up & took Ray to Seminary, does every morning. Kids ate & went to school & I changed my bed & washed it & 4 other batches.

Cleaned bathroom.

Ivard laid down & had a nap.

I didn't go to relief society, too much to do today.

I washed ceiling walls & wood work in bathroom & inside of shower & scrubbed & waxed floor. at 1:30 Ivard took me up to get car, they put a new water pump on it, and I went to Superior Western & hair my hair tinted, cut & manacure. Came home at 4:30 & Ivard was to work. Got cloths in & made my bed. Ray was to work.

We ate & Jackie & I went to bed at 7: & Jerry went away.

I went back to work at 11:

Monday, October 23, 1961

cloudy & rainy all day.

I iorned most of day. stoped at noon & went up to pay a bill. We ate & Gene went back to school & Ivard went up to see about getting car fixed then Jackie & I took it up to Dobbs & he brought us home & went to work at 3:45.

I still don't feel good.

Ray came home from school & went to work. Dale went to ball practice in Raine, came home soaked. Dean milked. Ray came home & did dishes & we ate & Jerry, Gene, Ray & Dean went to Mutual. Dale, Jackie & I went to bed at 8:

We don't have to work again tonite.

Sunday, October 22, 1961

nice today.

Ray & Dean went to priesthood & sunday school & Ray came home & got Dale & Jackie.

Ivard slept all morning. I crocheted.

When Kids got home we had dinner.

Ivard went to work at 3:45.

Ray went  over to Smalls all afternoon.

I took Dean & Dale up to church after Dean did chores & came home & Jackie & I went to bed at 7:30. I feel awful & she has a earache. I read B of M. for awhile.

Jerry & Gene got home about 11:

We didn't have to work tonite again.

Saturday, October 21, 1961

nice windy day after rain this A.M.

I got up & washed cloths nearly all day. I feel awful.

About 3: Jerry & Gene sneaked their sunday cloths out & went to Nyssa for week end. Jerry worked until noon. Ray worked all day.

Ivard & Kids fixed bikes all morning. Gene went up to school & got in Whirl pool for his sore leg.

I played scrabble with Ivard & Kids. We had dinner and Ivard went to work at 3:45.

Dean cleaned up house a little. Ray came home & did up dishes.

I crocheted & watched T.V. until Ivard got home.

Plant was down for 3 days didn't have to work.

Friday, October 20, 1961

It rained most of afternoon.

I came home from work sick. I read paper & went to bed most all day.

I was Ivards day off & he tended Sis.

I got up this afternoon & we went to bank, pd. some bills & got $26. worth of groc. Came home & was just fixing supper when Gail, Lynda & Kids came & ate with us. I went back to bed. I felt awful.

Ivard, Ray, Gail & Lynda went to foot ball game & Dean & Dale tended Kids. Jerry went & worked on paper awhile.

I listened to game on radio. We beat Pocotello 7-6. I got up when they got home & had pie & icecream. They went home & I went to bed. I laid off. Ivards nite off. Gene got his leg hurt.

Got letter from Kay

I came home from work and read paper & went to bed. I never woke up until I got up & cooked supper. Ray came home from school & went to work & to play practice after.

Gene went out to do Wallys chores before we ate.

We ate when Jerry got home from work.

Ivard took Jackie to Primary & went & got her.

Jerry went to work on church paper.

Ivards nite off.

sent Kay a letter

warm & nice.

I came home & put a batch of cloths in & Ivard hung them out. I went to bed at 9:30 & got up at 12:30 & took Jackie to dance Practice then we went to Bank & got groc.

Came home & talked to Ivard awhile & he went to work at 3:45.

I spent all afternoon writeing to Kay & getting my books up.

Had fruit cocktail for supper, sandwiches, pork & beans, potatoe chips & angle food cake.

We ate. Gene went out & did Wallys chores.

Jerry, Ray & Dean worked on posters to advertise haloween Party.

Jackie & I went to bed at 7:

nice day

I came home from work cold & went to bed & never did get up & go to relief society. Ivard stayed in bed awhile with me.

He tended Sis & did up dishes.

I got up at 2:30. Ivard left for work at 3:45.

I cooked supper & we ate when Jerry came. Ray was to work. Gene went out & did Wallys chores after I took Dale up to rodeo Park for Little legue game. He came home with his coach.

Dean did chores & Mike & Dave came & Jerry took them to Church to go to Caldwell to song leading Practice. Jerry met Boss at store & went to Boise with him to Paint Meeting.

Jackie & I went to bed.

80 degrees

I came home & put a batch of cloths in & went to bed & Jackie & Ivard got up & did dishes & hung cloths out & did another batch & got them out. They went over & looked at Bixby's house for sale.

I got up at 3: & worked on my books. Ivard left for work at 3:45.

Ray came home from school & I took him up to Thornes to work. got cloths in.

Gene ate & went out to to Wallys chores, came home & went to bed.

We ate & Jerry & Dean went to Mutual & took Rays cloths for him.

Sunday, October 15, 1961

Gene & Ray went to church at Owyhee & didn't come home until after I'd gone to work.

Jerry & Dean went to Priesthood & Sunday school & Jerry came & got Dale & Jackie for Sunday school. Ivard stayed in bed until noon. I got up at 9:30 & crocheted.

Jerry brought Kids home & went to Stake meeting.

I got dinner for Ivard & I, Dean, Dale & Jackie & we ate at 3:. Ivard went to work at 3:45.

Dean did dishes & I made some no-bake cookies. Dean milked. Jerry - Dean & Dale went to church & I had a shower & went to bed at 7:

I went to work at 11:15.

Nice sunny day.

Gene & Ray got home after I went to work - from Nyssa.

Saturday, October 14, 1961

beautiful, nice warm day.

I got up early, before Jerry went to work & started washing rugs cloths, special things.

I iorned all afternoon, did 89 pieces & still didn't get done. Dean scrubbed the floors & did work.

Gene got home from Nyssa at 8:45 & Ivard took him to dentist, Dr. Lee, & he put a silver cap on his front tooth he broke last nite in game. He went back to Nyssa at 2: to Evelyn Cleavers sisters reception & Stay all nite at Gails.

Ivard went to work at 3:45.

Jerry & Dean went to store & Jerry got me 2 1/2 cases grapefruit, case peas & corn & bunch of other groc.

Jerry went out to supper & to Stake dance, Jackie & Dale went to bed early & Dean & I watched T.V. My nite off.

Friday, October 13, 1961

Ray went home with Gail for week end.

nice warm day

I came home from work and washed some cloths & went to bed at 11: & Ivard got up & tended Sis.

I got up this afternoon and made chilli for after the game & got supper. Put 5 pies in freezer that I made last nite. I went to bank & put Kays money in & got some groc.

We ate & Gene went to ball game at 7:

We went at 8: & Gail, Lynda & Glen Ward came & set with us. Borah beat us 41 to 12. Gene made a 67 yard run for one of our t. D. he was the whole game. He got his front tooth broke off. Gail brought Evelyn Cleaver over, Genes girl, & they went to dance after & Gene took her home & stayed all nite at Gails. My & Ivards nite off. Gail & Ward came & had chilli & pie & icecream after game.

Thursday, October 12, 1961

I came home from work & went to bed. I was so tired. Ivard did up dishes & him & Jackie went to store & got groc. & feed.

When I woke up Ivard had the rest of apples peeled and I got up and made 8 apple pies & a big bowl of salad & cooked pork steak & squash & we ate supper before Jerry got home or Ray. Ray was to work & Jerrywent to interviewed some guys & to work on paper.

I went back to bed at 7:30 & Ivard too. It was Ivards nite off & he got called to work for 11:30 so he went, time & 1/2. $37.

I went to work at 11:

Kids went to Primary & Dale to little legue practice.

Wednesday, October 11, 1961

cloudy all day.

I came home & read paper & got ready & went to relief society work day, me & Jackie, at 10:. They had it today on account of no school yesterday. We had a real good dinner & I worked on dish towels.

Came home at 1:15 & Jackie & I went to bed with Ivard. Couldn't get to sleep until 2:15. Got up at 4: & Ivard had apples peeled & I bottled 15 qts.

Took Ray to work. Dale went to cub scouts.

Gene got home at 5:45 & watched T.V. awhile & went out to do Wallys chores.

We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Jerry went away.

sent Mothers letter I wrote Sunday

I came home from work & went right to bed. Ivard was in bed.

Cloudy all day.

Ray went to work & at 2: Dean went over to Perks & went to Givens to swimming party.

I got up at 12:30 & took Jackie to dance practie & we got gas & came home.

Gene fried chicken & baked potatoes & fixed peas for dinner & he went to ball practice at 3:30 & Ivard went to work at 3:50.

Ivard had a batch of apples peeled & I bottled 9 qts.

It rained this afternoon & most all nite.

I took Jackie & went to bed at 6:30 but didn't get to sleep for quite awhile.

Gene went out to Wallys.

Jerry went away for awhile.

I came home from work & washed cloths all morning.

Jerry was to work & Ray went right after I got home.

Kids didn't have to go to school today, teachers Institute.

Dean cleaned bedrooms & I helped him make all the beds.

Dale & Jackie went to neighbors to play.

Ivard took Dean to Allen's to scout meeting & he never got back until 5:

I went to bed at 12:30 & got up at 3:30 & took Ivard to work and got cloths in.

Gene came home from Nyssa to foot ball practice at 3: then he went out & did Wallys chores & went to bed.

Dean did chores & went to Mutual with Jerry & Ray. Ray went to Homedale to dance.

Cold wind

I came home from work & went to bed & read paper & Ivard came back to bed & got me warm.

Jerry, Ray & Dean went to Priesthood sunday school & testimony meeting.

Ivard & Jackie didn't go today.

I got up at 3: & Ray had dinner ready & we ate & I took Ivard to work for 4:

Jerry went to meeting this afternoon & tonite - no church tonite.

I wrote to Kay & Mother.

I went back to bed at dark and got up at 10:30 and went to work.

Ivard went back to work first time since June 11.

Cloudy & rainy

I came home & went right to bed. Ivard was in bed awhile then he got up & went to Dr. The Dr. released him & he went back to work today. I took him up at 3:45 for 4: Job. I got gas & groc. & came home & got books up. Kids had waffles for supper.

Gene went to Nyssa at 7: A.M. to do Gails route.

Ray worked until 3: & Jerry went after him. Jerry worked until noon.

Dean washed some cloths & cleaned bathroom.

Jerry went to M-Men Party tonite. I went back to bed but couldn't sleep much.

Friday, October 6, 1961

Ivard went to Burley to game

I came home & read the paper & went to bed at 10: I got up at 2: & we made 6 qts grape jam & at 3: I took Ivard up to Taylors store & he went to Burley with them to foot ball game. I went to store and got some cauliflower & came home & fixed 8 qts & put in freezer.

I went & got Jerry from work and he fixed supper & we ate at 7:30.

Jerry went up to church to get the paper out. I went to bed at 8: until time to go to work.

Ivard & Jackie went to Caldwell this morning & put my dimes in bank.

I listened to foot ball game we won 20 to 18. Half the broadcast was Gene.

Ivard got home at 12:30. Gail, Lynda & Kids went too. Ray cleaned house.

Thursday, October 5, 1961

I came home from work & washed 3 batches of cloths & hung & read paper then I went to bank, my pay day, paid 1/2 car Ins. Came home & went to bed at 1: I got up at 5:30 & Gene had come home from school & gone out to Wallys to do chores & Ray was to work. Ivard took Jackie to Primary & they were home. Ivard took Jackie to Primary & they were home.

I got cloths in & fixed supper. We fasted all day for Kay and ate supper about 7:30.

Ivard killed & cleaned 2 chickens.

We all went up to church to 2nd Ward's Elders supper. Sure good.

Jerry & Ray went Ward teaching after. We came home & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed and never woke up until 4:

I fixed beef & noodles & peas & cauliflower for supper & made apple salad, after Dean & I went & got feed & groc., & we ate when Jerry came.

Gene went out to do Wallys chores & Ray went to work after school & then to scout meeting & never got home until about 9:

At 7: I had a shower & got ready & we went to Don Taylors to Mutual officers party. Jerry went earlier to help. We had a real nice lunch. Got home at 9:30 & laid down an hr & went to work.

I came home from work & Jackie had wet my bed so I washed the pad & bedding & bed spread & got out & got ready & went to relief society at 10: a wonderful lesson by Ruth Butler, Theology. a very inspiring testimonial. I came home & took Jackie to her dance lesson at 1:, came home and run the grapes through Ivard had cooked & bottled 9 qts juice and put pulp in ice box to make jam later. Ivard helped me make bed & I droped into it about 7:

Ray went to work after school & Gene went out & did Wallys chores.

Jerry went to Party. Dean went to Caldwell to Singing leaders practice.

Monday, October 2, 1961

I came home from work & read paper and it looked pretty stormy so I didn't wash. I went to bed all day.

It was real nice this afternoon. Didn't get Kays letter mailed

We had supper & Dean did chores.

Ray came home from school & went to work & went to Mutual from there. Gene didn't go he had to go out & do Wally's chores.

Ivard - Jerry & Dean went to Mutual & me & Dale & Jackie went to bed.

Gene got up & went to Nyssa to church all day at Owyhee ward before I was awake.

Wasn't any sunday school on account of General conference. We listened to it & played Scrabble. I had to wash a couple of batches of cloths.

Jerry wrote letters.

I wrote to Kay.

We had dinner about 2: & tonite before church we had apple salad, cocoa & donuts.

Ivard, & Kids went to church & Jackie & I went to bed.

I got up at 11: & had a shower and went to work for 12:30.
