Dale got home from Portland

warmer today

Kids got through milk route early & came home & ate breakfast with us then went up to Dairy to load up & Ruth & Jackie did dishes & I packed a lunch & at 11: Ivard & I & Dean rode with Ruth & Ray & Jackie, Ray & Jerry went in our car & we drove up to warm lake & ate our dinner then went down to Cascade lake awhile got home at 7: & had a snack & watched T.V. & went to bed at 10: I called in & laid off again, too dired.

Dale got home from Portland at 9:45.

Ruth & Ray came

Gail called

cool & cloudy most of day. I dame home from work & went to bed but got woke up at 12:30 so I got up. I'd just been up a while when Ruth & Ray got here from Utah. We sat & visited & I cooked supper & we ate early, about 3:30

We watched T.V. & Gene & Cheryl came a little while. Ray did dishes

Jerry & Dean went out to Hurrens & got a book. I laid off tonite so I could visit with Ruth

Went to bed at 10:30

Monday, August 29, 1966

Dale went to Portland

They called me to work tonite

cold & cloudy all day - windy & dusty Jerry & Dean went on milk route & Dale left for 3 day trip to Portland he won on paper route - Lenard came & took him to bus.

I washed 5 batches of cloths & hung out but they got dry.

I bottled 47 qts grape juice with grapes Jerry got yesterday.

Kids came home from route & got ready while Ray took Ivard up to Ins. guys then the 3 of them went to Boise, then out to fruit orchard & got 3 bu. of pears.

I got supper & we ate at 6:45 & Ray did dishes & went with Phil. Cheryl Bender stayed all nite.

Lyle brought Jerry home

warm at 1:30 A.M. Lyle & family pulled in, brought Jerry home but he already had his ticket, goot excuse. I about went crazy with them here all day, I was so tired.

Jerry & Dale did Paper route & Dale came home & went to Priesthood with Dean & Ray. Jerry got home in time to go to Sunday S. Cheryl came & took Jackie.

We played penochle all morning & afternoon.

Dean & Jerry got dinner after S.S. then went to Blades open House.

Gene & Cheryl came awhile. Jerry - Ray - Dean & Dale went to church. Lyle left for Metcalfs at 8: & we watched movie. I'm still laid off.

Saturday, August 27, 1966

I got laid off.

cloudy & cool, I got laid off, I didn't think I even would with my senority, down to no one working, hardly. I laid down by couldn't sleep so got up & worked like mad all day changed beds & washed & made 15 pts bread & butter pickles & 13 bottles hamberge relish & cooked supper.

Jackie went on milk route with Dean.

Dean did up work.

I went to bed at 7:30, I was half dead.

Jerry went to Klamath Falls

cool, down 79, Dale worked at Hurrens in afternoon

I came home from work & went to bed & when I got up at noon Jerry had come home from work & left for Klamath Falls on bus to see about job at Wards Lyle called him about.

Ray helped Dean finish route. They worked on genelogy all afternoon.

I laid down awhile  & got up when Dale came home from collecting & we went up town & bought Dales school cloths with his money.

Dean fixed hot cakes for supper. I laid down until time to go.

Thursday, August 25, 1966

94 degrees Dale worked for Hurrens

I came home from work & went to bed & at noon I woke up with a start, my heart hurt, it was such a scare. Jackie was screaming I ran out in hall & father was trying to get in Dales room after him, he'd been teasing Jackie & acting up. He was about to pass out scared me so bad I stayed up all day to watch them

Kids came home from Dairy & went to Boise to show & Ray.

I washed cloths & made veg. soup for supper. Kids got home at 6: but they'd eaten.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ray went gading.

Jerry registered for (B.C.) school

I came home from work & Ivard was at hospital for his Therapy meeting, 8 Dr. they don't think he'll ever be able to go back to work on R.R. The lady brought him home

Jerry had gone to Boise to register for school at B.C. Dean was home & when Jerry got home they went up to Dairy & loaded their truck & got home at 3:30. Ivard got home at 10: I went to bed at 9:15 to 2:45. got up & got supper & we ate & Ray went to depot to meet Phil. Dale went to piano L. this afternoon & Dean tonite.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Dean registered for school

hot - some clouds part of day. I came home from work & went to bed. Father was still in bed, doesn't feel good, real tired. he got up awhile & came back again this after noon.

Jerry & Dean came home from work & Dean went & reistered & they went to Boise all day. Ray had allready gone with Betty, to do genelogy. They all came home together at 6:

Phone woke me up at 1:30 so I got up & washed 2 batches of cloths & cooked supper & got cloths in & put away. Crocheted awhile

Went to bed at 6:30

Ray went away all eve., to meet Phil Murry but he didn't come at 4: or 1: AM.

I went to work at 11:10.

I came home from work froze to death & went to bed

Jerry & Dean were on milk route & Dale was home from paper route & him & Jackie were out playing Ivard was still in bed.

Ray got up & went to Boise to do genelogy with Betty & got home at 6:30

Ivard got me up at 2:30 & Jerry & Dean took me to Bank & pd. bills. Came home & got supper & we ate & I went to bed at 7:

Dean did dishes & Dale mowed lawn

Ivard don't feel good tonite.

Jerry & Dean got up & did their paper routs then Jerry, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & Sunday S. Gene came & took Jackie to S.S.

I got up at 8: & put turkey in oven & made cranberry relish jello & made cake. Cooked beans & carrots & potatoes out of our garden & made gravy & we ate at 12:30 when they came from church - Gene & Cheryl came & ate then left. Dean did dishes & him & Jerry went to Stake meeting.

I washed my hair & tinted it & finished my iorning, 13 pieces & washed batch of cloths.

I went to had bath & went to bed at 7:30

Jerry - Ray, Dean & Dale went to church. I went to work at 11:10.

I came home from work & went to bed until noon then I changed beds & washed rest of cloths. Ray had 3 batches done.

Jerry & Dean got home from work about noon & cleaned up house.

Dale mowed neighbors & our lawn.

Ray made cookies

I iorned 35 pieces & made my, Jackies & Dales bed & picked over beans & washed them. Jerry got supper & we ate & Jackie did dishes Jerry & Dean went to store for me. I went to bed at 8: I was dead din't even hear Laurence Welk on my nite off.

Ray came home

I came home from work & went to bed until noon then I got up & bottled rest of peaches, 28 qts, & fixed a big bowl full for supper. Put roast in & cooked a nice supper

Kids didn't get home from milk route until 5:

At 4: Ray called, just got in on train, he only worked 2 days at Sun Valley, Part time until middle of Sept. I called Dr. & had Gene & Cheryl pick him up when they got out. Gene has bowl troubled doesn't get enough fluid. They had supper with us I went to bed at 7:30. Jerry picked cucumbers & beans.

I came home from work & canned 34 qts. of peaches & got so tired I went to bed at 2:30 & woke up at 6: & had supper & went to bed at 7:

Jerry took Ivard to Dr. at 5:45, hes getting better slowly.

Dean did dishes & washed me some more bottles.

Gene came few min. he went to hospital this morning for ex-rays & has to go to Dr. tomorrow to see what they found out. his lower stomach.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed and Ivard came in room at noon to get something & woke me up so I got up  & made a cake & butterscotch pudding for supper & washed a batch of cloths & hung out.

Kids got home from work about 10: & Den went & got hair cut then at 2: Jerry took Dean up to Chapin Studio & he had his Senior Pictures taken. They went out to Saxtons & got 2 bu. of peaches. Jerry got supper & we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

hot 97 degrees

I came home from work & went to bed at 9:30 & got up at 3: and spent all afternoon getting supper made stuffed peppers, buttered carrots, potatoes in jackets cucumbers & baked apples.

Kids were here on milk truck when I got home & Dean got ready & Jerry dropped him off at School to go to Boise to Carreer Day, got home at 5: Jerry went up to Dairy & loaded up & came home & went to Boise to genealogy library. Dale came home from route & slept awhile & went collecting & with Cheryl & Jackie did dishes. They watched T.V. & I went to bed at 7:30.

Lyle left for home

I came home from work & Jackie got breakfast & we ate & Lyle packed up & left for home at 10: I went to bed at 10:15 & got up at 2:30 when Jerry & Dean got home & sent Jerry to Bank to pay place. I changed Jackies bed & washed 4 batches of cloths one the sock batch & iorned 32 pieces & Jerry got supper Dean picked beans & Jerry picked them over & I put 3 tubs in freezer & 5 tubs rhubarb Betty brought, Dale was over to Genes all day & came home & mowed lawn. Jerry & Dean went & Pd. R.R. Credit Union for me & went to meeting at Stake H. I went to bed at 8:30.

hot Jerry & Dale went on paper route & came home & Jerry & Dean went to Conference all day. I came home from work & went to bed couple of hours but never did sleep, kids to noisy.

Lyle & father & Barbra & Kids played rummy all day & watched T.V. I got up & cleaned up house & washed batch of cloths & got  supper & we ate at 4:30 out on lawn - 15 of us Gene & Cheryl & John & Jackie Poppleton. I got stuck with dishes too, Jerry wiped them. I had bath & went to bed until time for work but still didn't sleep.

I came home from work & went to bed until 11: & got up & at 11:30 when Kids came from work I took Ivard to Dr., he is worse, can't even go outside until Thursday

Lyle & little Kids came at noon & stayed hr or so, Barbra& her mother were up town & he went to Parma & came back at 7: & left Kids & went with Gene blowing. They stayed all nite. big Kids stayed to Metcalfe. Dean scrubbed & waxed & Jerry got supper & we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Sunny & breezy but cooler

I came home from work & changed & Cheryl was here & I took her home & we took Genes car & droped Dale & Jackie off at Dr Lee's for check up & took Ivard to Hospital for his blood test then we went up to Marv's body shop to get rim for car but they couldn't find Key to shed so we went out by Jess Clarks & got 2 rims & went to Wards & bought 2 new tires & went out & got Kids & went & got one on car & brought it home & it was 11:30. Ivard & I went to bed. Got up at 2:30 & went & got Dean at Dairy then we took Genes car home Came home & Ivard's therapy lady was here. I washed 3 batches of cloths & got supper & Dean went & got Jerry at 4:30 & we ate. Dale mowed lawn.

Went to bed until time to go to work.

Thursday, August 11, 1966

cloudy all morning & windy, little cooler.

I came home from work & went right to bed. Jerry, Dean & Jackie were on milk route. Dale had come home from paper route. Stanley didn't wake up in time to go.

I got up at 1:30, Kids had come home at 11:30 & Jerry went to Boise with Betty.

I went to bank & up to R.R. to have Ins. paper fixed for Ivard & got groc. Came home & helped Dean fix supper & we ate at 5: 7 Dean did dishes. Jerry went to Lake to his Sunday S. class party.

I bottled 5 qts. reubarb & washed 3 batches of cloths laid down at 6: & read paper I went to bed until time to go to work. Jerry had to walk home from out next road over from Cemetary on So. Power line - no spare.

Ray left for Sun Valley to work

hot.

I came home from work & took Ivard to hospital for his blood test came home & went to bed & nurse called little later & said his blood was too thin to stop takeing pills until Friday, Dr. Horton is out of town & she called Dr Brown

I got up at 11:30 & took Ray to depot to go on train to Sun Valley to work. Kids got home from work at 10:

I went back to bed awhile & got up & washed cloths & we had a cook-out & ate on lawn Jerry cooked Steak on barbacue

I went to bed at 7:30 & when Jerry & Dean got home from Piano lessons Jerry went up & mailed Hobbycraft letter for me. Dale went to Piano lesson at 2:. I bottled 5 pints beans. Dale went with Lenord Rose. Gene came a min.

hot. Ivard doesn't feel good today

I came home from work & Jerry & Dean were on their milk routes, Stanley & Jackie were too tired. Dale was home from paper route & in bed again. I went to bed at 9: & phone woke me up at 9:30 but I got back to sleep. I got up at 4:30 & got fruit put away & washed cloths & hung out & got supper.

Jerry & Ray came from Boise genealogy library at 6: & we ate & Ray did dishes.

Jackie picked beans.

Ray got Job at Sun Valley dishwashing, leaves tomorrow I picked over beans & went to bed at 8:30

I went to work again at Simplots

hot. got up at 6:30 & Jerry & Stanley had gone on Milk route & Dean started a vacation route today & took Jackie with him. Dale went on paper route. I got Diary up & Ivard got ready to do apples we started at 7:, did 2 bu. & got 50 qts, we've got 132 all together Got through at noon. I cooked dinner & we ate when Jackie & Dean got home at 1:30. Betty brought me a big box of bread & buns from Boise for freezer $4.80 worth, I had her get. Jerry & Stanley came at 2:30 & ate & Dean did dishes & Jerry Ray & Dean went to Boise with Betty to do genealogy. I went to bed after I had bath Jackie, Stanley & Dale walked over to Genes & came home after dark. Jerry & them came at 9: & Jerry went to bed & Ray & Dean went miniture golfing with Betty & Gene came & took Dale, Stanley & Jackie none of them were home

Dean - Jackie & Ray came home from Utah

Jerry & Dale went on paper route & at 7:30 Dean called & I rode up to depot with Lyle to get him & Jackie & Ray came too, didn't get job after all. I didn't get breakfast, fast day.

Jerry & Dean went to priesthood S.S & Fast meeting & took Cheryl & after church took Cheryl for her Patrical Blessing - Gene had to work. I was so tired. Ray got dinner & we played pinochle

We ate at 1:30, just finishing when Jerry, Dean & Cheryl got here & they ate. Lyle left about 2:30, Barbra & Kids are going to stay at her mothers & Lyle has to go to Yackama Wash. to school a week. Stanley stayed here. I had nap couple of hrs & Jerry, Ray & Dean went & got 3 bu. of apples & we did one, 28 qts & got bottles washed. Gene came & got Cheryl & Betty came & Kids did [illegible].

Lyle & family Came

Jerry & Dale went to work & I got up & washed couple washed bottles & got ready to do apples at 5:30. Ivard peeled 2 bu. of apples & I bottled 54 qts. we got through about 11:30 & Ivard watched ball game & I swept & moped d. room & Kitchen. Jerry came home & changed & went & got hair cut.

Dale went collecting

Ivard & I played rummy out on lawn.

Lyle came about 6:30 & Kids played on lawn. Jerry & I fixed hambergers & we ate on lawn. Gene & C. came about 8:30 & Lyle & B. went bowling with them & we put Kids to bed & Ivard & I went. We were so tired.

Simplots called & we are down until Monday midnite

hot. Jerry went on milk R. & Dale paper.

I got up & washed a batch of cloths & a blanket & did 5 pints of beans & made potatoe salad for supper & cooked big kettle of beans for Sunday.

I bottled 8 its of little onions Dale brought home from Genes.

Jerry came home & went to store & brought a bunch of groc. home & we ate & he went up town fooling around. He brought home 2 bu. of nice big apples some one gave him & box of peaches Simplots called & said plant would be down until Monday midnite. I was sure glad.

Thursday, August 4, 1966

hot The plant wasn't ready to go yet. I worked 7 hrs. & got laid off for next 2 days. Came home & went to bed until about 1: & got up & bottled 12 qts of beats Jerry picked Ivard pulled out of garden. Took me all day.

I got supper & we ate & Jerry picked beans & picked them over & I got them washed ready to do tomorrow.

We went to bed early. Ivard stayed up until news was over but I was too tired.

Got called back to Simplots

Dean went to Salt Lake

real hot. I got up at 4: AM & took Jerry & Dean up to Dairy & came home & got Dale up for Paper route & went to bed awhile got up & crocheted, made 4 glasses Jelly & deboned chicken & took Ivard to hospital at 8:45 for blood test. Came home & at 9:30 went & got Jerry & Dean & we went over to Dobbs & they brought us home & took car back to finish working on it. I washed 3 batches of cloths, patched & cooked dinner. Ivard did dishes. Dale went to Piano Lesson at 4: & Dean at 6:30.

I got Called back to Simplots, started up at 8: this morning.

They brought car home & Dean took Kid back & went to Piano L. & came home & Jerry took him up to catch train for Utah.

I had bath & went to bed until 10:30 & went to work. Rode with Grace Cromwell.

Ray called - has job as bookkeeper

hot 103 degrees in Nampa

Kids forgot to wake up until Dairy called & Dale too. I took Kids up to Diary at 5:30 & came home & crocheted & at 8: Dale & I took car up to Dobbs to have new Shocks & muffler fixed. they brought us home. I fixed breakfast & Ivard, Dale & I played rummy. at 1:30 Dobbs went & got Kids at Dairy, I called & told them to, & they came home & Ivard & I went up & got his check at R.R & they let me out at bank & they went to Dobbs & did a little more work on car. I walked around & Pd. bills then walked to Dobbs & got Ivard & car & went & Pd. Don Boren & got groc. at Albertans & Safeway. Came home & worked on books & made out Payments to mail & Ivard - Jerry & I went & voted in Primary. Dean had to go back to Dairy at 4: to learn his new route better. Jerry fixed supper.

hot - I got up after Kids went to work awhile & crocheted.

Ivard went out & picked beans & I picked them over & bottled 7 qts, washed a batch of cloths & 2 electric blankets. Dale, Ivard & I went & got Cheryl at noon when Dean Kids got home from work & her & Dale got off at Dobbs & got car they left Sat. to be fixed. then Dale went collecting Ivard went to get his check but it had gone to Pocotello so he went to Dr & got paper for leave of absence & Ins form for Hales & went & got Jerry. Dean went with other guy today to learn route. At 7:30 Jerry took Dean & I up to Pix to show "Music Man & another one & Dale stayed with Ivard. Got home at 12:30.

Cloudy

Jerry & Dale went on their Paper route & came home & Ivard, Jerry, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & S.S. took Gene then Gene came for me but I didn't go, had just washed my hair, I made 5 apple pies & a little one for Genes lunch & 2 shells & got dinner we had hambergers & trimmings. Made butterscotch pudding for dinner over left over ginger bread. Gene & Cheryl came home & had dinner then about 2:30 Jerry & Dean took them home on way to hospital to visit sick. Ivard slept all afternoon &  crocheted.

We played Scrabble & I had bath & at 7:15 Ivard & I, Jerry, Dean, Dale Gene & Cheryl went to church. Jerry went & got Gene while I got ready.

Cloudy all day but Sultry

Jerry & Dean went to work Dean has a vacation route by himself & gets 16.50 a day Dale went on paper route. I got up & crocheted awhile & changed all the beds & washed up all the cloths & bottled 5 1/2 qts string beans.

fixed me & Ivard breakfast Dale came home from paper route & went back to bed until noon. Kids came home at noon & we had lunch & Jerry had nap & him & Dean cleaned & Scrubbed house I cleaned my bed room & made Dales bed. I fixed supper & while it was cooking Jerry took Ivard & I up to register to vote & we ate. watched T,V, & went to bed at 9:30

Kids went to work. Dale came home from paper route & went to bed until noon. Izard stayed in bed until 10: I crocheted awhile then finished my big iorning & washed cloths.

Kids came home from work & went over & got Cheryle & went to store & made meat pie with biscuits on & we ate about 6: Metcalfe came & visited about hr.

We flooded law. Jerry picked beans & I picked them over. Gene came & ate after we were through.

Ray left for Utah

Kids went to work. I got up & crocheted until Ivard woke up then I fixed breakfast. I helped Ray pack, he was going on noon train but Jerry & Dean didnt get home from work in time to get him up there.

I washed cloths & Ray went & got his cleaning & told people good bye.

Ivard, Dale & I played rummy. I went & signed for Unemployment.

I got supper & we ate & Jerry took Dean over to go to Priest Party, water skiing at Lake Lowell then came home & took Ray up to catch train, it was late. Izard & I walked out to end of lane & sat out side awhile & went to bed.

Ray got up & took Jerry & Dean to work so we could have car & went back to bed. Dale went on paper route. I ironed 24 pieces. I got up at 6: & crocheted. took Ivard up to hospital for blood test at 8:15, doesn't have to go again until next Wed., thought he'd have to go every other day. His therapy lady came to see him today. I washed socks & another batch. Dale Ivard & I played rummy. Jerry Ray & Dean went to Boise to do genealogy with Mrs Blades & Nancy at 11: & got home at 6:45 Dale went to Piano L. at 2: & Dean went at 7: then he & Jerry went up to depot to mail letter.

Gene & Cheryl came & ate & Gene watered garden & helped Jerry pick beans & I got them picked over & socks put away.

Jerry & Dean went on milk route & Dale paper route. Ivard & I never woke up until 9: & I fixed me & Ivard & Ray & Dale breakfast & crocheted & watched T.V. Jerry brought groc. home & I made a jello cottage cheese salad for supper. Jerry, Dean & Ray went to Caldwell when Kids came from work.

I fixed chicken & at 6:30 Ivard & I, Ray, Dean & Dale took our salad & chicken & went up & ate on lawn behind Church with ward for 24th. Jerry went at 6: with Betty to set up tables. I wrote Mother - Jackie, Lyle & Gail this afternoon & mailed them tonite, Ray took them up. had good programe. Came home at 9:30 & went to bed.

Jerry, Dean & Dale went to work & Dale was home again when I woke up at 6:45. I got up & crocheted & washed 4 blankets for winter & another batch.

Ivard called & said he was released but it was 1:10 before Kids got home with car & Dean & I went & got him. Then Jerry, Ray & Dean went to Caldwell. I made some ice tea & Ivard sat out on lawn with Dale. I cooked supper & Kids came at 5:30 & we ate & about 7:30 Jerry & Ray went with Rodney. Dean did dishes & we watched T.V. Dean & Dale ran over to Genes at 9: to give him a message

I didn't go to hospital, too sick. Jerry, Ray & Dean & Dale went to church early tonite & went & saw father a few min. I watched T.V. until it went off the air.

Gene stopped a min. this morning on way to work.

I changed beds & washed 7 batches of cloths & got dinner & we ate when Kids got home & I went to hospital. Jerry & Ray went to Warm lake with Rodney to get Scouts.

Laurence & Afton came to hospital to see Ivard & we came out to see our house & they stayed a hr. Dean had beds all made & house cleaned.

I went to hospital at 7:30 Dean let me off on way to church to practice & at 10:30 I had to call for him to come & get me, & I was so sick

Jerry - Dean & Dale went to work. I got up at 6:20 A.M. & crocheted & fastened off threads on 110 motifs on my table cloth & washed 3 batches of cloths & hung out & got in & put away. Dale came home at 6:30 & went back to bed.

Jerry never got home until 1:30 then he dropped me off at hospital & I sat with father until 6: & he came back & got me, he was doing his business & Dale had hair cut. Came home & I had bath & at 7:30 Jerry - Ray - Dean & I went & saw father a few min. he's up & around today, then we went to Kotters to Kurts lawn reception. Came home at 9:30 & went to bed.

Kids went to work. I got up & crocheted & washed some cloths & Dale & I dug potatoes out of our garden & carrots & I fixed dinner & we ate when Kids came about 1:40 & I got ready & went up & signed up for unemployment at 2:45 then went to see Ivard. He had to lay flat today with ice packs on his neck & arm where they shot him with dye to ex ray his brain. They had doped him too, it was real painful. They thought they'd found out what was wrong but havn't told him yet. Came home at 6: & at 7: Dale & I went back & Jerry went hunting Scout rides.

Stella called at midnite.
