Friday, August 31, 1962

Gail came & stayed all nite.

I got up at 7: & read paper. Ivard left for work at 7:15.

I cooked breakfast & we ate & at 9: Dale, Jackie & I left to take Lyle back to Metcalfs. We got back to Nampa at 11:45 (stoped in Caldwell & put my dimes in bank & Rays tips in) & gave Ivard his lunch & got his check then we went to D.Q. & had lunch & I brought Kids home & figured out money then I went up & pd place & Hales & at 2:30 I went to Superior Western & had my hair cut, tint & set. It was 5:30 when I got out. Came home & fixed a bite & here come Gail & Gene & all the Kids to stay all nite. I'll go crazy. Just got rid of one mad house & thought I'd have a few min. peace & quiet. Gene cleaned up & we took him down to Kotters. Ray came from work & went up shopping. Went to bed early. Ivard & Gail fixed them a bed.

I got called back to Simplots for Tuesday nite.

Cooler

I got up & made waffeles & we ate at 10:, didn't even hear Ivard go to work at 7:15 A.M. no one got up.

I worked on my books & Lyle copied genelogy. Barbra streightened up & Dean did dishes

Ray had to work 9:30 to 6: for Judy, it was his day off.

I went & signed up at 2: & stoped at D.Q.  & had drink & talked to Edith & Ray awhile.

Got supper & we ate out on lawn at 4: Dean & Dale did dishes. We played Penochle then They play Exaltation with Kids.

Ward teachers came. I gave all of Lyles Kids a pr. of new pajamas & we got them to bed & played penochle until until 11:30. Barbra sent Ray up & got us a milk Shake. Ray soaked his feet.

Wednesday, August 29, 1962

Ray got home on train this morning went to work at 9:30.

Ivard went to work at 7:15 I got up & finished the tomatoe juice I cooked last nite. Got 50 qts juice & 28 qts tomatoes.

I got breakfast & we ate & Dean did dishes & Barbra cleaned up the house, Lyle copied genelogy.

I washed a batch of cloths & at noon Dean & I went up town & got him some shoes & socks & Lyles Kids each a pr. of pajamas. Went to D.Q. & had drink & hamberger. Came home & fixed barbacue, bought $26. worth of groc, & we ate out on lawn. We got ready & picked Ray up at work at 6: & we all went to Boise to State Fair. The ice follies were pretty good. It was cold. Went on couple of rides & had hot dog & waited half hr for Ray, got home at midnite

Ray was supposed to get home to go to work this morning but missed the train.

Ivard went to work at 7:30 A.M.

I spent all day doing tomatoe juice & stoped & cooked supper & we ate at 4: when Ivard got home. Then I put the last of tomatoes on to cook to run through for juice in the morning (4 kettles.

I just got in working on my books when Lyle, Barbra & all the Kids came again. I didn't even go out for a hr & a half., I was busy. Dean fed them & they were bathing Kids all evening & getting them to bed.

Ivard went to a genelogy meeting at church.

Monday, August 27, 1962

Ivard got up & went to work for 7:30. I got up & fed Kids & run juice through and used part of it to bottle 29 qts of tomatoes with cold pack. I bottled 7 qts. juice.

I got supper & when Ivard got home at 3:30 we ate & I had a shower & Ivard bathed & at 6: Ivard & I left for Boise to show. Went to "Boise" & saw "West Side Story" It was good. After we went to "Louies" & had chow mein. It was midnite when we got home.

Dean tended Kids & got them to bed.

Sunday, August 26, 1962

Jerry went back to Utah

Read paper in bed. Ivard got up & went to Priesthood, & Sunday school with Jerry & Dean. At 11:45 I took Jackie up to stop sign & they went to sunday s. with Jerry. I washed Jerrys cloths, 2 batches & iorned his stuff. Jerry droped guys off after sunday school & went out for dinner

I crocheted 2 madallons on scarf. We ate at 3: & Ivard left for work at 3:50, floated. Dean & Dale did dishes & Dean made some no bake cookies.

I got books up.

Jerry came & got his stuff at 7: & took Kids to Church, Dean & Dale & he left for Utah after church. Dean & Dale came home with Barlows. I watched T.V. until Ivard got home.

Cooked 2 Kettles of tomatoes tonite to run through for juice.

Saturday, August 25, 1962

Jerry came from Utah

Gail & family - Lyle & Family & Gene were here

Ray left for Utah on 8:30 train.

I got up at 7: & cooked breakfast & Ivard went to work at 7:30.

I washed & iorned all morning & sewed on Sis's new dress. Dean cleaned house.

Ivard came home & ate lunch at 11:30.

At 10:30 Lyle, Barbra & Douglas came & at 1: Gail, Lynda & Kids & Gene came. I didn't have any money to go get any groc. & nothing in house I had a lb of hamberger for 17 of us. I had a pot of lima beans on & made goulash out of them & meat & we ate out on lawn at 3:15. They didn't even offer to go get a loaf of bread. Then Barbra or Lynda didn't even offer to help do up dishes. I got so mad, Gail & Lynda are always here at meal time. 5 extra is a lot when you havn't planned on them then they don't tend their Kids. We started to play cards, but I got mad & went in house. They left at 8:30 after Jerry got here from Utah with his girl friend - Freda. Ray went on 8:30 train to Salt Lake for Johny Winters Farewell.

Friday, August 24, 1962

I washed some cloths & Ivard slept. I spent all day sewing on Jackies Jumper.

Ivard went to work at 4:

I went & got Ray at 6: & he took off all evening.

Lyle came after dark & had a bath while Barbra was shopping then they went back to Metcalfs. left David here all nite with other 2 Kids.

I watched T.V. after I got Kids to bed. until it went off the air. Ivard came home from work & finished watching show with me.

Ray got home about 11:, He bought us all a tropical Sundee for desert for supper.

Thursday, August 23, 1962

Ivard came home from work & laid down awhile then him & Ray & Dean went over to Metcalfs at 9:30 to pick tomatoes & cantalope. Rays day off.

I washed cloths & finished Jackies print dress & cut her out a blue cordory Jumper & got it started.

Ray & Dean got home at 6: & brought Stanley & Terry to stay. We ate.

Joe brought Ivard home at 8:, he'd been to Boise with him. He bathed & went to bed until time to go to work at midnite. I watched T.V.

I went up & signed up at 2: & got some thread, zipper & stuff for Jackies dress.

Wednesday, August 22, 1962

Ivard came home & went to bed & I washed cloths & finished my blue smocked towel pillow & made a brown one.

Lyle called & said him & Gail were going to Givins tonite so Dean & I went & got groc. to fix a lunch to take & we stoped at D.Q. & had hamberger & fries & drink.

I fixed my Blacker contest & when Ray got home from work at 6: we took them over & went to Givins swimming. After we got out we all ate lunch out in Park. Gene hurt his arm fooling on swing. We got home at 10:30 & Ivard laid down until time to go to work. I watched T.V.

Lyle brought pick-up to Givins & went home with Gail & Ivard & I & Jackie came home in it.

Ivard came home & went to bed & I washed some clothes, read, sewed.

Seems good to be alone again

Dean worked on genelogy Ray worked 9:30 to 6:

I got supper & we ate after I went & got Ray. We had cantalope Sundee tonite.

I watched T.V. & Ivard went to bed until time to go to work.

Monday, August 20, 1962

Lyle, Dean & Ivard got up & ate & went over to Metcalfs & picked their cantalope.

Barbra cleaned up the house & I changed up the house & I changed all the beds, but mine, and washed 6 loads of cloths.

I fixed dinner & about 2: Ivard & Lyle came & we ate & they left for Boise with their load Dean & Stanley went too. They came home about 6: & Dean & I made beds & Lyle Barbra & all the Kids left for Metcalfs to stay a few days.

Ivard went to bed after he bathed & went to work at 11: Got Kids to bed & Ray & I watched T.V.

Read paper in bed. We ate & Ray went to work from 10: to 5:

Lyle & Dean went to Priesthood & Sunday school, Ivard stayed home & took Stanley - Terry - David, Dale & Jackie to Sunday School.

Barbra & I cleaned up house & I washed a batch of cloths. fixed dinner & we ate when they got home, about 2:30.

Claudia & Pam & Sherman came & visited us for awhile this afternoon.

Ray - Dean & Dale went to church & we got Kids to bed & Lyle, Barbra, Ivard & I played Penochle, until midnite

Saturday, August 18, 1962

washed some cloths & cleaned up. made a big Kettle of chilli.

Lyle, Barbra & Douglas came about noon to stay the week end & Terry.

Dean & I went up & got a few groc.

We ate dinner about 3: & tonite Lyle went & got 2 1/2 gal. of icecream & we had that with cake Dean made.

Ray worked all day & tonite him & Dean went ward Teaching then he went to dance.

We got Kids to bed and were playing penochle when Gail, Lynda & Kids & Gene came at 8: then Gene & Gail played with us & we played 6 handed. Played with 1: A.M. & Gail went home and we got to bed.

We drew names for Xmas

Friday, August 17, 1962

cloudy this morning, little cooler.

We read paper in bed.

Dean cooked breakfast while Ivard & I finished going through Pennies & bagging them.

Ivard took all the Kids up to Park to play while Dean & I cleaned up house, Dean scrubbed & waxed floors & we moved everything. I washed 3 batches of cloths.

Ivard & I took Pennies back to bank & cashed them in & pd. car wireing Came home & played a game of Scrabble & Ivard went to work for 3:, floated.

Ray worked 9:30 to 6:00

Joe brought Lyle on their way from Boise & I took him up to where Ivard was working & he borrowed pick-up to haul a load to Boise while Joe went fishing. Terry went back with him. Got Kids to bed & watched T.V., I went & got Ivard at 11:

Thursday, August 16, 1962

Jerry moved to Salt Lake

Got letter from Kay

Got up at 5:30 & helped Jerry pack & at 6:30 he left for Utah to live & find a job. Rodney Hennis followed him & his car. Went back to bed until 8:, read paper, & got up and cooked breakfast.

Ivard came home & went to bed. I washed some cloths & at 10: Dean & I went up to bank & got $50. worth of parking meter pennies, 5000, and spent all day & until 10:30 at nite going through them for my collection 4.50 worth I got.

Ivard went to work at 3:

Rays day off & he chased here & there. went to weight lifting class tonite.

I went up & signed up at 2:

We went to bed when Ivard got home at 11: my back was busted, Ray & Dean watched late show.

Wednesday, August 15, 1962

Gail came over

Got 2 new tires for pick-up.

We ate breakfast & Jerry & Ray went to work & Ivard & I went up & got Ivards check & bought 2 new tires for pick-up. At 9:45 Ivard & Dean took Lyle, Barbra & Douglas over to Metcalf to stay a few days & left the other 3 Kids here. Dean picked tomatoes & earned $5. Ivard picked some then went to Boise with Joe to peddle a load. It was 9:30 when they got home. Ivard went to bed until time to go to work at midnite.

I washed cloths & went to bank & paid some bills.

Gail, Lynda & Kids came awhile Lynda, went to Dr. & they stayed here. Gail was real sick.

Jerry went to party at Madison's for outgoing Mutual officers then went & got recomend & wound things up to go to Utah

Lyle, Barbra & Kids came

Ivards day off

I washed cloths & Dean cleaned up & made a cake while Ivard fixed fence & finished new drain for washer then at 1: we drove all around Nampa & country side looking for houses for sell then we had a root beer & went over to Metcalfs to see if Lyle had come up. They had, sunday nite. We visited awhile then we brought them all home with us to stay all nite.

I went up & got groc. & Ivard cooked hambergers on grill & we ate out on lawn.

Jerry went to meeting

Ray went & bought us icecream

Got Kids to bed & we played Penochle until 1:

Jerry got month off to go hunt Job in Utah.

Monday, August 13, 1962

Jerry went to work. read paper in bed then we got up & ate & Ivard made a new drain just for washer, so it wouldn't fill the septic tank.

I changed all the beds and washed 6 big batches Dean cleaned up the house and I helped him make the beds.

No Mutual but Ray went to weight lifting class & swimming after. Jerry went some place.

Ray worked 9:30 to 6:

Ivard & Kids went to bed & I watched T.V. Ivard went to work at 12:05, midnite, late My watch stoped & I let him oversleep.

Ivard, Jerry, Ray & Dean went to Priesthood & Sunday School. I took Dale & Jackie up at 11:45 then I got dinner & we ate at 2: Jerry grabbed a bite & left for Stake meeting. He came home at 4:45 when we were trying to locate him on phone, some people from Colorado came & visited with him awhile.

Ray didn't have to work today & after we ate & he did dishes, he changed flat tire & went away

Ivard went to work at 3:

Jerry went to Middleton to Church with Rodney Hennis.

Ray took Dean & Dale to church

I dont feel so hot, washed a batch of cloths & iorned awhile. Cut out a dress & bloomers for Jackie & a dress for Melissa for her birthday.

Jerry came home at 12:30 & went to get hair cut. went to dance tonite

At 2: Jackie & I went to Kotters to Melissa's birthday party, the dancing class, all the mothers came & we visited. Came home at 4:30.

Ray got home at 6:15. He didn't go any where tonite.

Ivard went to work at 3:

I watched T.V. had to chase neighbors cows out at 10:30 P.M.

When Ivard got home we watched T.V. until it went off the air.

Friday, August 10, 1962

Jerry got up at 6: & got ready for work. I read paper in bed, got up & fixed breakfast.

Ray bathed, ate & went to work at 9:30

I don't feel good. I washed cloths

Ivard worked on a new drain for washer instead of going in cess pool.

I cooked dinner & we ate at 2:30 & Ivard went to work at 2:40.

I iorned all afternoon.

Jerry came home from work & got ready & went to Caldwell carnival & to Drive Inn, never got home until 3:

Ray went away in car & brought it home at 10: & went to drive Inn with Rodney Hennis, got home at 2:30.

Jerry got home from Salt Lake

Got letter from Lyle.

Jerry didn't get home for work this morning - called (Murrys) & said they were having car trouble, went to Sun Valley on way home. never got here until 10:30 P.M.

I read paper in bed & got up & Dean Ray & I took Jackie to Primary, Dale went on bike. Rays day off. He dumped Dean & I out to Penny sale & he went & got hair cut & got his pictures I got Kids shorts & Dean 2 shirts & material for Jackie & Debbie a jumber & 4 pillows. laid away Debbie & Jackie a pleated skirt & sweater. walked down to church & Ray finally came. Went & signed up at 2: pot my coin collections in new books.

Ivard left for work at 2:45. Dale went to help do corn for Primary Party tonite at 6: him & I went up to Church to Primary boys Chuck Wagon dinner & programe. Had tons corn on cob, baked beans, & barbacue on buns & cocoa. Got home at 8: & Ray went to weight lifting class. We watched T.V. Ray went & got him & I a milk shake.

Packed a lunch & Ivard & I & Kids took my contest over to Blackers after I fixed another one. We got groc. & gas & came home & made 2 gal punch & at 1:30 we left for Silver City. looked around & had our lunch & took a movie of the town & scenery going up & back. got home at 8: just drove in when Gail came on tractor & Lynda came after him. They didn't stay long. I didn't feel good & went to bed with Jackie. Ivard & Ray stayed up & watched T.V.

Ivards nite off.

Gail said Gene stayed home from work but felt a lot better. He has copper poisoning.

Tuesday, August 7, 1962

Jerry went to Salt Lake

We went to Givins & Gails

Jerry went to work & Ray went at 9:30. I washed up cloths & cleaned up & fixed a lunch & Ivard went to store.

At 1: Ivard & I - Dean, Dale & Jackie went to Givins & went swimming for hr. then ate our dinner out in the Park. At 4: we left for Adrian. Went to Shulthies awhile then over to Gails. They were just driveing out of yard.

Gene was taking chills & burning up so I gave him asprin & got hime to bed, his feaver broke before we left.

We visited, went through all their banks for my collection & played "Penochle." Left for Home at 10:30. Ivards nite off.

Jerry left for Salt Lake at 9: with bunch of M-Men & gleaners - 2 cars for Atkisons Kids funeral, 6 M Men had to be pall bearers.

Sent letter to Lyle - Mother - Kent

wrote Kay & sent this afternoon.

Ivard came home & went to bed at 7:30 & I got up worked on books & finished up letters.

Jerry went to work. Dean was painting on his oil picture when I got up.

Ray went to work.

Changed all the beds and got washing done up.

Jerry came for lunch - Ivard got up at 12:30 & fixed fence.

I wrote to Kay & we went up & mailed it.

I got supper & Dean helped make beds, didn't ever get mine made.

Jerry went to meetings & Ray went to weigh lifting class.

Ivard went to bed until time to go to work at midnite. I watched T.V.

Ivard came home from work and went to bed until 2:45 & got up & ate.

Ray didn't have to work until 3: today so him & Den went to Priesthood, he came home & got Dale & Jackie & they went to Sunday School & Fast meeting, Ray & Dale bore their testimony.

Ivard took Ray up to work

Dean did dishes & made a cake

I washed my hair & had a shower

I wrote to Lyle - Mother - Kent & made lists of money I need for my collections & sent Kent, & Lyle.

We watched T.V. & had cake & milk. Ivard showed us all of our home movies.

Jerry got home at 10:10 & brought Ray from work. He went back up to D.Q. & got Ivard & I & Ray a drink

Ivard came home & went to bed I stayed in bed until about 10: I was sick.

Jerry came home from work at 1:30 & at 2:30 him & Rodney Hennis left for McCall for week end.

I iorned all my cloths and patched them. Dean cleaned up fixed supper.

Gail & Lynda came a few min at 1:, had to come over on business. They said Gene left last nite with Marvin Haney for Rexburg to see about going to school.

Ray worked at D.Q. 9:30 to 6: then at 7: he went to Stake House to help Baptize. He baptized 2.

Ivard & Dean went to Fathers & Sons Outing

Ivard came home from work & came to bed awhile but didnt go to sleep. I woke up after Jerry had gone to work.

At 9: Ivard & Dean left for Church Camp at Idaho City to spend day with Stake Fathers & Sons outing, were supposed to go last nite & stay until Sat. nite but Ivard had to work. Got home 4:30 & brought Dale

Ray went to work 9:3 to 6:

I worked on my books & washed 4 batches of cloths.

Catalogued my money collection.

Ivard went to bed when he got home & got up long enough to eat. He went to work at 11:

Jerry went & worked at Dairy q. for one of guys & never got home until 2: went with Kids after he got off work.

Thursday, August 2, 1962

Dale left at 6: for church camp with Bishop Madison, to Father & Sons Outing & stay all nite.

hot, 96 degrees

We slept late. Jerry was gone to work when we woke up.

Rays day off.

Ivard stayed in bed until noon. Jerry came home from lunch.

Ivard & I & Ray went up to D.Q. & had drink & went up to Bank & put some money in checking, went to other Bank & Pd place & put some in my Savings then we went to Caldwell & put my dimes in bank & Rays change & tips in his account, he sent $20. to his account in Boise. Came back to Nampa & Pd. Hales & Wards & got movie film back & I went & signed for unemployment, then we had to go back to Caldwell & got Jackies pictures we forgot to get this morning when guy was at Hales. had root beer & came & got groc & came home & fixed supper. Ivard cooked hambergers out on grill & we ate on lawn.

Ivard got his check when he took Kids to Primary & Ray went & got them & he went back to bed. Jerry worked at D.Q. & never got home until 2:30. Ray went out & watched them pick up wrecked train. Ivard bathed & went to bed at 7: & went to work at 10:50. I watched T.V. Kids went to bed.

Wednesday, August 1, 1962

Came home from Utah

We got up & had breakfast & listened to a tape of Kim. I read some of his letters. sat & visited & Ruth copied some of our genelogy then got dinner. We ate out on Patio at 2: did dishes & at 3: Dean, Dale & Sharon went swimming & Ivard, Jackie & I went down to see Louie but she was at worked, talked to Elmer awhile then went up to drug store & saw Louie a few min. & Bob & Joan. went over to Irv's store & saw Marv. & Loraine & went over & talked to Ruth awhile, got a few things & went up to Ruths & got Kids & told them goodbye & at 7:30 went down & saw Claudia & she showed us some things Kay had sent & his scrapbook. We left for home at 8:10 & stoped at clearfield & Burley for gas. It was 3: A.M when we got home. Ivard drove all the way, my eyes kept getting pus in them.
