Sunny hot. Cloudy tonite

Gene came at 5:30 & got his stuff on way back to Nyssa to work, forgot his lunch.

I took Jerry & Ray to work & did up work & worked on books, washed. Ivard, Dean & Dale hoed garden.

Ray came & we had dinner then Ivard & I Dale & Jackie took Ray back to work & went & got Ivards check & went to bank then we went to Simplots & got my vacation check - (2 week 81.94) & paid some more bills. Came home worked on my books & Ivard took off up to Stockman. Dean & I went after Jerry (missed him) & I sent Dean in to get Ivard beacuse Mr Metcalf had come to see him. Jerry went to Stake house to meeting & droped Ray off at 2nd Wards Mutual.

Joe said Barbra & Kids would be here tonite, that Lyle had tried to kill her. I just don't know & after the letter he just wrote about going to Temple. Lyle doesn't have that Kind of disposition unless he's really changed. Joe had supper with us.

Tuesday, May 30, 1961

No one had to work today & we all laid in bed late. Ate breakfast at 10:30 & Ray did up work & defrosted icebox.

I finished reading "A Voice of Warning" I just had started.

It was cloudy most of day & cool.

Jerry went over to Boss's house at 1: & worked in yard until 5:

Ivard & I played Scrabble with Dean & Dale.

I fixed picnic lunch & we ate at 5:30 then Ivard did chores & all of us but Jerry went to Kuna to play ball. Gene came from Nyssa just before we left & went & got Kurt & we picked them up along way & they left their car & went with us. Kids got beat by Marshing 1 point. Comeing home Ivard missed the first curve on a cork screw curve & went off road through big boulders & pile of lumber. blew out new tire & wrecked a rim, scared us to death. We were lucky. Came home & had icecream & watched T.V. Gene slept on Kurts lawn all nite.

Monday, May 29, 1961

sent letter to Kay & Lyle. got letter from Lyle.

Ivard got off at 4: A.M. & came home to bed, he was so tired. he got up at 7: & milked & Marv & Loraine left for Idaho Falls at 7:30 to go to Temple & Ivard went back to bed.

I took Jerry to work & Dean over to Perrys for Scout Deal.

Ray went to work at 8:30.

I changed all the Kids beds & washed.

got books up & wrote letters.

Got letter from Lyle & they've gone back together again & love each other more than ever.

We went to store & got groc. & cow feed & picked Jerry up from work.

We ate and Jerry & Ray went to Mutual. Ray got home about 6:30.

rained a little.

Watched T.V. Ivard helped Dean make beds.

Sunday, May 28, 1961

Marv. & Lorraine came from Utah.

Ivard got home at 4:30 A.M. & came to bed then he got up at 7: & milked.

Jerry & Ray were just leaving for Priesthood when Marv. called to see where we lived so Ivard went up & met him & brought them down, they came alone. Loraine & I went to sunday school with little Kids. Jackie had to give closeing prayer.

Marv & Ivard stayed home & watched ball game & Ivard cooked a roast & when we got home I fixed dinner. After dinner Ivard & I, Dean, Dale & Jackie took them out to see our old place & the lake, bought some icecream & cookies & came home & had them & watched T.V. & visited.

Jerry & Ray went to church & Fireside. Everyone went to bed at 10:45 & Ivard went to work. I stayed up & finished seeing last show.

Saturday, May 27, 1961

Gene went to Nyssa to work for Summer

Kids had to wear coats out to play, cold but sunny.

Gene came home from Kurts at 6: AM & left for Nyssa to work for summer for Carl Simpson. Jerry went to work until noon & Ray went to work at Printing shop. Ray came home for lunch & went back.

I washed cloths all day. got books up. Made big Kettle of chilli.

Dean cleaned his bed room & bath R. I made sandwiches & cocoa for lunch & Jerry went to work for Boss's wife.

I iorned all afternoon. Ray came home at 6: & cleaned up house.

Jerry - Ray - Dean & Dale went to show "Cinneraron" & Ivard & Jackie went to bed.

I watched T.V. until it went off air. Ivard left for work at 10:50.

Kids got home right after I got to bed.

Friday, May 26, 1961

Got letter from Kay

Ivard didn't work today.

Nice day, got cold tonite, had fire in fireplace.

Last day of school, they all passed.

Jerry went to work & I washed all my bedding & Ivard helped me move every thing around & clean our bed room good, & washed the window inside & out & patched the screen.

Ray came home at 3: & went to work until about 7: Gene came home & took Dale & Jackie over to Kotters to play & he helped Kurt haul garbage. Helen cut Jackies hair. Ivard, Dean & I went to store & came home & made barbacue for supper. We ate & Jerry went over to see Rama Wilson & Gene went with Kurt & Larry then they stayed & slept on Kotters lawn. We played Scrabble & watched T.V.

Ivard & I went to bed at 1 A.M.

Thursday, May 25, 1961

Jerry went to work & Ivard & I laid in bed after Kids went to school. I got up at 9:30 & cleaned up & washed some cloths & played Salataire, don't feel very good.

Ivard, Jackie & I took some hay over to calves in pasture then went & got feed for baby chickens. Came home & cooked dinner & Ray came & we ate & Ivard laid down for an hr. with Jackie & got her to sleep & at 2:15 I took him over to Trask's to go to Boise to work. Came back & worked on genelogy a half hr. & Helen came & cut my hair, took Jackie to Primary. Ray went to work after school & I got supper & when Jerry & Ray came we ate & I washed my hair & had shower & Jackie - Dean & I went to church at 7:30 to Dales Cub Scout Pack meeting. Barlows brought Kids home from Primary.

Gene did chores & went to graduation with Larry & Kurt. I watched T.V. until Ivard got home at midnite.

Wednesday, May 24, 1961

Gene left for Nyssa at 4: A.M. to work for Gail, he's sick.

Jerry went to work & Kids went to school & we laid in bed late.

Ivard - Jackie & I went & got gas & went to Caldwell & had Kays type writter fixed & put money in Ray - Dale & Jackie & my bank account. Came home & got dinner & Ray came & we ate. I worked on genelogy for about 1/2 hr. At 2:15 Jackie & I took Ivard over to Trasks to go to Boise to work & I signed up for unemployment then we got a few groc. & Jackied a straw hat & came home & got supper. Ray came home & went to work & Gene went with him & went messing over to Kurts. Dale came home & went over to Perrys to Cub Scouts. I had to take his registration over.

Got supper & we ate & Jerry went to a meeting. Jerry bought $10,000. 20 yr. pay life Ins policy & a health & accident. Gene got home at 9: I watched T.V. until Ivard got home at 2:30. Jackie was sick.

Tuesday, May 23, 1961

Got letter from Louie

Kids went to school & Jerry went to work. Ivard got home from work at 7:30 & went to bed. Ivard stayed in bed until about noon then got up & tended water.

I washed some cloths & cleaned up house & iorned all afternoon. Didn't go to closeing social of relief society.

Joe Metcalf came over & his father in law, to see what we knew about Lyle & Barbra seperating. He said Lyle had gone to Arizona to take some guy to work. Ivard & I were hardly speaking.

I cooked supper & we ate after we went up to Ivards sign up for unemployment & car stoped & we had to take it & to garage & have new part put on starter. got groc. & feed.

Ray went to work after school.

Jerry & Gene left at 6:30 to go to a progressive supper, Sunday school class Jerry teaches.

We watched T.V. Lynda called & said Gail was sick & wanted Gene come & work tomorrow.

Ivard didn't work today.

We were awake until 3: AM talking & me bawling, makeing up.

Monday, May 22, 1961

Kids went to school & Jerry to work.

Ivard would hardly talk this morning him & Jackie went to neighbors until 10: then Ivard took some hay to calves in pasture & never came home. at 5: Dale Jackie & I went up to Stockman Parking lot & got little dog Jackie had put in back of Pick up.

I changed beds & washed cloths all day.

I called Stockman 3 times & Ivard said he'd be right home, once I told him there was no one to milk, but he never did come. at 10:30 I called & told him he was called to Boise to work at 11:30, he went from Stockman.

Ray came home & went to work after school & got home at 7:00 & went to Mutual hay ride with Jerry.

Gene came home from school & him Kurt & Larry went out & thinned beets at Max Barlows until dark then Gene milked. I was sure mad at Ivard.

Sunday, May 21, 1961

Rays first Piano recital

Ivar came home & went to bed at 7: A.M.

Gene did chores & Jerry & Gene went to Nyssa to conference & Gails & never got home until late. They took Debbie home.

Ray went to Priesthood & Ivard stayed in bed, he was going to get up & watch ball game & we had a fight & he went back to bed & listened to it on radio. Ray came home & took little Kids to sunday school & they brought Jackie home & went back to fast meeting after on account of graduation tonite. I didn't go my mouth looked so bad & hurt from cold sores half way around. I cooked a roast & got dinner & we ate at  3: & Ivard & all of us went out to Pinsters to Rays first Piano recital. After we rode out where they were digging to find Tiggs body in cave-in. Came home & Ivard did chores & we watched T.V. & went to bed early. He didn't work.

Saturday, May 20, 1961

Jerry & Ray went to work until after noon & I washed some cloths & cleaned up & took Dale & Jackie & Debbie up town & bought them paper Dolls, spent all afternoon cutting them out. I did Jackie's & Dale did Debbie's. Kids cleaned up yard & I made them a tent, Gene mowed lawn & worked on flower beds.

Ray cleaned house & I fixed picnic lunch & Kids & Ivard & Gene ate out on lawn.

Jerry worked for boss's wife until 6: doing yard. Ray went to practice piano tonite & ward teaching. Gene went with Kurt & Larry & Jerry went to Rama WIlsons

Gail & Lynda came for half hr. were going to take Debbie home if Kids weren't going over tomorrow, left her & went to visit some friends that use to live over there. Ivard went to work at 11:

Bill came little while brought Debbie home for few days

Kids went to Seminary (Gene & Ray). They started over a week ago.

Jerry went to work. We laid in bed & Ivard got up & took Dean to school & came back to bed. Dean didn't want to walk in his garb for "rediculas Days" I got books (diary) up in bed.

I got up at 9:30 & cleaned up house & iorned a few pieces then Income tax refund came so we went to bank & paid Dobbs $200. on repaire bill then we went over to Nyssa to see Gail. stoped at Metcalfs on way to see if they knew anything about Lyle & Barbra seperating. they didn't.

At 7: Jerry called & said Bill & Jean had come & gone to Boise & would be back so we hurried right home & brought Debbie for few days. I cooked supper & we ate & about 8: they came. We visited until about 12:45 & they left for home & Ivard went to work. Gene went ward teaching.

Thursday, May 18, 1961

Lyle called from Sacramento - he's left Barbra wants us to send him $100.

Ivard & I laid in bed late. Kids ate & went to school & Jerry went to work. I got up at 9:30 & washed 3 batches of cloths & iorned until 3:

Ivard got up at 10: & took Pick-up & had new sparg plug put in & filled up with gas & got oil for oil change. He came home & had a nap.

Ray came home for lunch.

At 3:45 Ivard took Ray to work & he went to work and Jackie & I went to Primary. They had a special Mothers day programe & lunch on. There we 40 of us. Came home & when Jerry came from work we went & got groc. & he went to Middelton to M Men Gleaner affair.

Gene did chores & went to ball prac. I fed little Kids & got books up.

I watched T.V. until 10:30 & went to bed.

Ivard got home at 11:30.

Wednesday, May 17, 1961

Ivard took me to sign for unemployment at 2:30 & Paid lites & Phone.

Kids went to school & Jerry to work & Ivard went back to bed, he still doesn't feel very good.

I just sat & crocheted on my bed spread & watched T.V. most of day, I was so tired from yesterday. Ivard got up & brought all the boxes of books in out of garage & got them dusted & put in book case.

Ray came home for lunch.

It was cloudy all day & just at school closeingit really poured & hailed, a cloud burst. Didn't last long. I went & got Dean & we took Dale over to Perry's to Cub Scouts. Ivard had to go to work at 4: & he took Ray to work at Printing shop on his way.

I cooked a roast & got supper & we ate when Jerry came & he went ward teaching. Gene went ward teaching too & Ray went out for his Piano lesson at Pinsters, got through at 8:15 & was to Dairy Queen until 9:30. We had Strawberry short cake at 9:45 & Kids went to bed. I watched T.V. until Ivard came.

Tuesday, May 16, 1961

Gene stayed at Larry Adams all nite.

I got up at 6:30 with Kids & never stoped all day.

Kids went to school & Jerry & Ivard went to work.

I washed cloths all day & washed wood work in front room & windows inside & out. washed & iorned curtains & got up in front room. I moped front room, dineing room & Kitchen & changed furniture around.

We had our water turn.

Ray went to work after school. Jerry went to meeting & Gene went down to Kotters & got load of hay them him Kurt & Larry did chores & Ivard went with them to ball practice & Ray at 7: I was so tired & ached so bad, Ivard had to rub me with Alchole. I fed little Kids & got them to bed & Ivard & big Kids ate when they came. Gene & Kurt went & stayed all nite with Larry.

Ivard came home from work & slept until 2: & I washed Ray & Jerrys beds & did up rest of washing. at 2: we went up to bank & paid bills & got a few groc.

Ray came home from school & went to work.

Gene came home & I took him to Dr. Daines & had his eyes examined because school nurse said he couldn't see & because they bother him. Dr. said he definetly didn't need glasses. That the dust & feed he'd got in his eyes was irritating them, got some drops. We droped Ivard off at Dr. first & he said he has been walking around with Phnemonia & his stomache is bothering him too. He got a bunch of pills. We got feed & had to waite for Ivard. We ate when Jerry came & the Kids went to Mutual.

Ivard didn't work.

Sunday, May 14, 1961

Kids went to Fireside after church & Ivard went to bed an hour & went to work.

Ivard, Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Priesthood after they ate, did chores & read paper.

I put a meat loaf in & made tomatoe aspic & had a bath & me & little Kids went to sunday school & Mother Day programe. When we got their there was Gail, Lynda & Kids, went to church with us.

Came home & ate. Had buffett style Picnic lunch, meat loag, potatoe salad, baked beans, tomatoe aspic ring filled with cottage cheese, olives, pickles & potatoe chips. & Punch & Jerry went & got sherbet (orange) & 2 Heart shaped cakes.

Jerry & Kids gave me a 8 piece set of Melmac, a picture & 6 glasses, a 2 piece covered casserole & a divided vegetable dish to match, a pyrex loaf cake dish, a black patent leather perse. Lyle gave me the silver compact & Gail 2 gold family tree picture frames to hold 10 pictures.

Gail went home at 6: after we played Penochle. We all went to church & Jerry gave a real good talk.

Got a mother day card & letter from Claudia

We got laid off this morning, for 2 or 3 weeks any way - I'm sure happy. Came home & Ivard was in bed, got home from Idaho Falls about 3:30 A.M. I read paper & went to bed. I was so tired I never woke up until 5:

Jerry went to work until noon then he went & worked for Boss's wife until 6: Ray went to Printing shop all day.

Ivard got up & 10: & him & Gene watched ball games.

I went to store & got groc. & put a pot of baked beans on to cook all nite & cooked potatoes for salad tomorrow.

We ate & Gene went to Stake dance. Jerry went to Caldwell to see Ralph & Effie & Ray did his work.

Ivard & I played scrabble & watched T.V. until 10:45.

Ivard didn't work today.

Friday, May 12, 1961

Got a mother day card, poem & letter from Kay.

I came home from work & took Dean to school & ate & read paper. washed some cloths & watched T.V.

Jackie & I slept for a little while this afternoon.

Ray came home & went to work after school.

Jerry came home from work & went back up town to get a card & mail to Mother for Mothers day. He sent her $10. I sent her $5. & a card.

I went back to bed after we ate until time to go to work.

Ivard still wasn't home at 11: when I left for work.

Ray & Gene went to Fathers & Sons Priesthood Party at Stake House with Mr. Kotter. Gene went to show after & never got home until 1:30.

Ivard went to Temple at IF.

got Silver Compact for Mothers day from Lyle.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed at 10:10. Ivard came to bed & woke me up at 12:30. We got up at 1:45 & took Ray back to school from lunch & I took Ivard out to Johnsons & at 2: they left for Idaho Falls to Temple, ward excursion. came home & at 3:45 I took Jackie to Primary & went & got some groc. & feed. Came home & cooked supper.

Ray came home from school & went to work at Printing shop.

I got books up & went & got Kids from Primary.

We ate when Jerry got home at 6:15. I went to bed until time to go to work at 11:

Wednesday, May 10, 1961

Dale joined cub scouts today

rainy & stormy all day.

I came home from work & I took Dean to school & read paper & went to bed at 9:40.

Ivard is sick, his stomache.

I never woke up until 3:20

Dale came home from school at 3: & got a dime & walked over to Perry's to his first cub scout meeting.

I got up & made 3 banna pies & 3 shells & Gene cooked steak & Peeled potaotes & I fixed aspargus to cook & Dean made a pan cinnamon rolls. Gene ate & at 5:55 he went to Play ball in tournment.

Jerry came home & ate & went to work for boss's wife in yard but got rained out so came home & took Ray out to Pinsters to Piano lesson. Ivard & I went to President Hurren's & had Temple recomends signed. I went to bed at 7:45 & Ivard went to ball game, got beat by Payette, 5 to 1.

I went to work at 11:

Tuesday, May 9, 1961

85 today. sure hot.

I came home from work and Ivard & Jackie went out to Wallys & took planter home & went over & got a load of hay at our old place.

I made pop corn & tea & read paper & washed my bed & the sock batch & underwear & towels.

I went to bed at 11:30 but was still awake when Ivard came so I got up & made bed and at 2: Jackie & I went to bed. just slept an hr. when Dale came home & woke me up.

Ivard went to work for 4:

We ate & Gene went to play ball at 6:. Jerry came home & took Kids with him out to our old place to see the guy. Ray went to work right after school & I went & got him at 7: & he went to ball game, tournment, they got beat. I went to bed but couldn't go to sleep until after 9: I went to work at 11: & Ivard & Gene still weren't home.

Monday, May 8, 1961

I took Dean to school.

I came home from work & Ivard had gone to work at 7:. I made tea & read paper & washed cloths all day. Jackie & I had a little nap.

I cook ham & lima beans for supper. Gene came home early & went to play ball at 6: at rodeo Park. first game of tournment won. Ivard went too.

Ray went to work after school. Jerry dashed home from work & went to Mutual. Ray came home at 7: & he went to Mutual.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Dean did up dishes & got him & little Kids to bed.

Ivard got home just before I went to work. Gene wasn't home yet when I left.

Sunday, May 7, 1961

We laid in bed late & read paper. Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Priesthood & sunday school. Ivard was supposed to go at 8: & forgot so he went to sunday school with me & little Kids at noon.

We came home & made barbacue & punch & ate & Jackie, Ivard & I had a nap. Jerry went over to Wilsons awhile to help Rama with a talk. Ray went delivering fast offerings.

Gene did chores & we all went to church but Jerry & Gene to Primary programe. We had fast  & testimony meeting after sunday S. Dean was the narrator & did good.

He went over to Perrys all day.

Gene went with Kurt & Larry tonite & Jerry wrote letters.

Came home & went to bed until 11:15 & went to work.

Ivard didn't work today.

Saturday, May 6, 1961

Gene bought Gails car

Ivard left for Boise to work at 7: AM & never got home until 8: tonite. he doubled then they got off early. Jerry went to work until noon & I went & got him & he bought us a milk shake. Gene went to ball practice at 11: A.M & when he got home at 12:30 him & Jerry & Dale went to Nyssa & Jerry & Gene got their car they bought from Gail. Gene Kept it, he had Kurt, Larry Adams & John with him & they went to Seminary Testimonal at Nyssa & Gene stayed to Gails then they all had supper with Gail & went to Seminary dance, got home at 11:45. Jerry came home at 6:

Ray went to work at Printing Shop. Ivard & I watched T.V. until 11: & went to bed. My nite off.

Friday, May 5, 1961

I came home from work & ate & read paper. washed cloths.

Ivard went to work at 3:30. Jackie & I had a nap this afternoon. at 3: when Dale came from school we went to Caldwell to bank but it closed at 4: Came back to Don Boren's & had a greese job & oil change & he was so long we didn't get to get Jerry.

Ray went to Printing shop; him & Gene got home about 9: Gene played ball.

We watched T.V. & Jerry showed us his shows

I went to bed at 11: I woke up at midnite & Ivard wasn't home so I dressed & drove up to Stockman & there he sat playing cards, I got mad, he came home at 1:

Thursday, May 4, 1961

took calves to Pasture

sent Terry birthday card & $1.

I came home from work & read paper & we went & paid Kays cloths in full at alexanders, got groc. & feed. Came home at 1: & I went to bed.

Ivard & Jackie took our 3 calves over to a rail road guys pasture.

I got up at 3:45 & put supper on to cook & we went & got Jerry from work & ate.

Ray came home from school & went up to Printing shop & worked until 6: then went out to Pinsters to Pass Merit badge.

Dale went to Boise on traine with school to Julia Davis Park & him & Dean went to Primary, forgot to take Jackie.

Jerry didn't have to go away tonite.

Ivard didn't go to work.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Wednesday, May 3, 1961

I came home from work & read paper & at 10: I went to bed.

Ivard & Jackie went to bank & got a seal for toilet & fixed it. They woke me up at 3:30 & I put a batch of cloths in & Ivard & I, Dale & Jackie went up to rodeo Park & watched Vale beat Nampa. got groc. & came home & got supper. Jerry walked home.

Ray got home from work at 7:30 & we ate & he went with Mr. Firman to visit the Teachers quorum members.

I went to bed at 8: until time to go to work.

Ivard never worked today

Tuesday, May 2, 1961

I came home from work & took Dean to school. Ivard had doubled, he got bumped off his regular job this morning.

I changed all the Kids beds and washed them, 5 batches. Jackie & I went to bed at 12: & slept an hr. & phone woke us up -  so we had to get up and I finished doing cloths.

Ivard got home at 4:30 & about 5: Gail Lynda & Kids came. Gail went & got Jerry from work. Gail gave us $10. to give Kay for sweater he said he needs.

Ray went to work after school.

I cooked supper & we ate & Ivard & Jerry went to meetings & Gail went up & watched Gene get beat by Boise.

I helped Dean make bunk beds & Lynda helped him make others & I went to bed until time to go to work. Ivard went to bed tonite.

Monday, May 1, 1961

Ray started at Thorne Printing.

I came home from work & took Dean to school. Ivard had taken Jerry to work & gone after his check. I read paper & ate & went to bed. I got up at 2: & we went to bank & Pd. place & bills & went after Jerry, he worked half hr. overtime.

I heated chilli & we ate. Jerry & Gene went to Mutual.

Ray went to Thorn Printing after school & got a job. he'll just be learning what to do for few days. He got home at 7:30 & went to Mutual.

I washed my bed & had to take it up & dry it at laundry, awful dust & wind storm.

We went to bed until time to go to work, me at 11: & Ivard at 11:45.
