Got home from New Mexico at 2: AM.

Lyle left at noon.

Ivard went to Glenns F.

cold & stormy.

got home at 2 A.M. & Lyle & family were here but they were expecting us & were'nt in any of our beds. We went to bed & got up at 8: & Jerry & Dean were on milk route & Stanley & Dale were back from paper route. I fixed hot cakes & we ate & Barbra did dishes. Gene & Cheryl never got up until about 10:30. We played Scrabble & father went & got his check. Lyle left about 1: for Metcalfs was going home tonite. Gene & C. went looking at houses. I didn't get to bank or pay any bills.

We ate supper & Gene & C. went up to see Poppleton & Kids went to Mutual and Ivard left in car at 7: for Glenns F. to work., he would have missed his call if he went on train. We went to bed early. washed

left Kays for home & went to Gails

Sunny & cloudy - real windy

Got up & Claudia fixed us breakfast & at [blank] we left for Logan Utah & got up to Dr Gibsons at 12:30 & visited a couple of hrs with Genes missionary companion in Fiji. then we drove up to Pocotello Idaho to see Gail, took us hr. to find his place, 3 bed rooms, nicer than he had in Nampa. We visited & Lynda fixed supper & we ate & about 8:30 or so we left for home. & Ivard & Gene took turns driveing. We got home about 2: A.M after being gone 10 days & driveing 3039 miles & getting a new daughter-in-law

house was all cleaned & Lyle & family were here. They'd spent day at our place & went to Park in afternoon & ate, after it rained.

stayed at Kays all nite

Sunny & nice breezy day

never woke up until 8: & Bert had a loucioius breakfast ready for us. then Ivard & I, Jackie, Gene & Cheryl went to Sunday S. in Berts new Olsmobile, came home & she had lunch ready & we ate & Packed all Kids stuff, people kept droping in. We stoped at Joe Johnson, friend of Genes from his mission in Vernal, & at 1:15 we were on our way home

Got to Kays in Bountiful, at 6: & we all went down to Irvins about 7:30 & visited until 11: & had Sodas. They'd just got home from American Fork from Dona's boy Davids farewell going to Southern States.

We stayed all nite at Kays they all slept on floor & Ivard & I had bed.

Saturday, May 28, 1966

Lyle & family came down for week end.

We went to Vernal - tah.

breezy & warm

we drove all nite. Stoped at Glenwood Springs Colorado & had breakfast

Ivard, Gene & I took turns driveing.

We to to Cheryls grandmothers, Bert Shiner's, in Vernal Utah at 12:30. She fixed us a real fancy fried chicken dinner & Ivard & I had a nap, & Gene & Cheryl went visiting friends & the missionaries. At 5: Bert, Mr. Jones Mother, took us up town with her to get Kids a present. She spent 50. then took us to Dinasar Museum & bought Jackie a souvinere plate. Went back & had bath & at 7: friends & neighbors droped in to open house clear until 10:30. Kids got lot of nice things. L.D.S. People, Bert belongs to church, has money - widow. We stayed with her all nite.

Mr. JOnes came over to Motel at 9: & took us over to his trailer for breakfast then I took Genes car & went to washeteria & did up our cloths & at noon Ivard came with Jones to wash & I was done so Ivard & I went to Motel & I showered & we packed & checked out, Jones had paid bill & went over to Jones's at 1:30 & I iorned couple of things & at 2: we went to neighbor trailer to shower on Kids, Nadine Windoms, got quite a few nice things. After we packed up all their things & had snack & at 8: P.M we left for Vernal Utah. Got rack for top of car. stoped at midnite in Santa Fe for gas.

Ivard drove most of way.

Went to Carlsbad Caverns

cloudy - windy -stormy - Tornado

Got up & got ready & went over to Jones's at 9: & had breakfast & she fixed lunch & at 10: AM we left for Carlsbad N.M. to see Caverns, 132 miles. We met Gene & Cheryl at Arkinsaw Junction & they parked car & went with us. We got to Caves at 12:30 & had cold drink & at 1: we took a guided tour of Caverns. started with 80 & ended up with 151 people. We walked 3 miles down through earth & got down to 860 ft below ground. Took us about 4 hrs. stoped at underground lunch room at 700 ft & had our lunch. it was fantastic rooms big enough to set nations Capitol way under ground & all the beautiful formations. Came out on elevator. wrote cards when we came out & left for home at 5: stoped at White City & had drink - real stormy Got to Tatum at 8: & they met us & told us to get to school a tornado was comeing hit 4 miles from town.

Gene was married to Cheryl Jones

hot. got up at 8:45 & went over to Assembly of God church & got it ready for wedding. Kids didn't want it in chapel so we fixed the small amusment hall. ceiling was peeling but we set up chairs & had an arch of green fern for them to stand by & along one side a long table with white Satin cloth & a 3 tier blue & white wedding cake & Punch bowl & blue napkins. We went over to Jones trailer & ate breakfast lunch & at 2: went to Motel & showered & got ready & went back to church & at 4:15 Gene & Cheryl were married by Elder Morell from Hobbs, 1st Co in that Branch. He had his wife with him & the 2 missionaries came too. took Pictures & Kids left for Hobbs, their car was all decorated up. We cleaned up church & went to Motel awhile & at 7: went over to Jones & ate & at 10: went back to bed

Got to Tatum & stayed at Winds Motel

hot & windy. got up & showered & left Sara's at 5:45 A.M. stoped at Cuba N.M. at 7:45 & ate breakfast & got gas & was on our way again at 8:30 went right throu Albacqure & never stoped. I drove 40 miles before we got there. stoped at Socorro & had a drink then went to San Antonio N.M. & got gas & went to resto room & headed to Roswell on hyway 380. Stoped & saw 3 Kinds of Cactus along road & stretched our legs, dry & hot & nothing sage brush didnt even grow no trees even in mountains only cedar & Misquit.

had lunch at Dempseys in Roswell at 2:55. Got to Tatum, N.M. at 4:30 & found Junes trailer & met Mr & Mrs & Son & 4 daughters & Gene. They had us a nice room at Winds motel & we cleaned up & went to their trailer & ate & went to wedding rehersal then went back & Gene showed Fiji slides.

Stayed at Sara's in Farmington N.M.

Gail moved to Pocotello

hot got up at 5:15 AM & Berniece fixed breakfast & made us a lunch & we were on our way to New Mexico. went throu Provo at 7:20 but didn't try to see Ray. stoped at Spring field & got gas & stoped few min at Price to rest room. Stoped at Moab & got gas & ate our sack lunch as we drove on from there. stoped by Moab & got me red rock for rock garden.

We stoped at Cortez N.M. for hr. & got Jackie  an Indian doll at Souviner shop & some picture Post Cards. We got to Sara's & Fats at Farmington N.M. at 2:30. They run Sage Motel for Judy & her husband. We visited & had Chicken supper & stayed all ntie with them in one of their rooms

Stayed at Bernieces in Tooele

cold & breezy. We got up late & Ray got breakfast while Ruth got ready for S.S. & we ate & visited until 11:30 with Ray until 11:30 & called Kay then we went down to Slim Olsens & filled up with gas & went out to Tooele to Bernieces. They were all to church but Mother. They got home soon after we came & Mother had dinner ready & we ate & were just finishing when Ruth, Ray, & Sharon came out for afternoon & had desert with us, watermellon.

They all went to church & Ivard & I & Jackie tended baby & Marlyn.

We ate supper when they got home and went to bed at 10:

Gene called from New Mexico

Simplots went down for SUmmer

Ivard took week of his vacation & left to New Mexico.

We got laid off for summer. I came home & was about to bed when Gene called & said he was getting married Wed. to come & bring his car. I called R.R & had them call Glenns F. & have Ivard call me & He took a weeks vacation & drove home in couple of hrs. We got packed & went & got gas & at 1:30 Ivard & I & Jackie left for Tatum New Mexico in Genes car. Jackie missed last week of school.

Jerry & Dean & Dale stayed home & they were  home from Milk route when we left.

We drove to Bountiful, Utah & got to Kays at 8: P.M. We just stopped at Glenns F. & got 4 gal gas. called Irvin & Ruth Tovey & at 9:30 we went up to Ruth & Rays & ate & visited & stayed all nite.

Sunny & nice.

I came home from work & Ivard was already home & in bed. Dean & Jackie went & got him at depot. Kids were to school & Jerry was to work on Milk route.

We got up & played Scrabble. We went to bank & paid some bills.

I got supper & we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work. Ivard was in bed & after I left crew dispatcher called & told him to get down to Glenns F. or he'd miss out so he drove down at midnite.

Jerry started work for Alpin Rose Dairy

Sunny & warm.

I came home from work & Dean took car to school & took Jackie. I ate, read paper & went to bed at 9:30. I got up at 1: & washed 3 batches of cloths & cleaned up house & painted all afternoon. Jerry came about 3: & brought $26. of groc. Dean came home & changed cloths & went to work & Jerry went with him & paid bills

I fixed hambergers & trimmings & we ate when Kids got home & Sis came from Primary.

Jackie did dishes & Dale mowed & raked lawn. Jerry & Dean went home teaching. I went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work.

I came home from work & Ivard was home & in bed. Jerry took Kids to school on his way to work. I ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:15 & just got to sleep when R.R. called, Ivard was back on Glenns Ferry brakeman board so he got up & went & called in. I was about to sleep again when Gail called he was called back to R.R. at Pocotello so when Ivard came I got up & took him to train at noon & I came home & was about asleep again when Gail called again so I got up & washed my hair & did some patching. I went & got Dean after school & took him to work & came home & got supper. Jerry brought Dean home. We ate & Dean & Dale went to Piano lesson then Jerry, Dean, Dale & Jackie went to play at Stake H. & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I went back to work after 4 nites off Sick

Sunny - cold breeze

Jerry got up & took Dale on paper route, Ivard came home & got in bed & I didn't even know it. I got up & washed 3 batches of cloths & baked 4 loaves whole W. bread & cleaned up & painted. Ivard got up at 11: & Jerry came home this afternoon & they worked on yard & planted flowers. I did up all my iorning.

We went & met Dean at 3:45, at School, & took him up to work & got lawn mower then I got supper & we ate & went & got Dean at 6: & he ate & Ivard & Jack did dishes & Jerry, Dean & Dale left for Mutual at 6:35.

I went to bed at 7: went back to work tonite.

Ivard got up & took Dale on paper route & went back to bed. Kids left for school & I got books up & at 10: Ivard took me out to Johnsons to Tri-chem Paint meeting & he went & got his check. He came after me at 1:30 & I figured out check & we went to bank, paid place, bills & took lawn mower to be welded & Ivard bought me a root beer Came home & worked on books & got supper. Ivard went & got Dean at School & took him up to Miner-Brecken to work & Jerry brought him home after work & we ate.

Ivard & I, Jerry & Jackie took Dean over to Stake House to his Seminary graduation & after we went to D.Q. & had Sundee. Ivard laid down until 11:10 & went to work. I watched Show. Still off Sick. Dale went Home T.

Gene left for New Mexico for 2 weeks

Jerry & Dean went to Nyssa to conference

We went to dinner at Line a Diner

Sunny - cloudy - nipped tomatoes last nite. Mr. Jones & Gene left for New Mexico at 4: A.M. take turns driveing. going for Cheryl's graduation. Mr. Jones is working in Seattle, contractor

Jerry & Dale went on their paper routes when Gene left then Ivard, Jerry, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & Ivard came & took Sis to Sunday S. after church Jerry & Dean went to afternoon Session of Conference at Nyssa with Betty. I painted all morning & made a cake & cooked a roast, washed 2 batches

They came from church & Sis did last nites dishes & Ivard & I, Dale & Jackie went up to new Line a Diner & had Our dinner, real nice, then father took us for ride out around Lake Lowell & we got some groc. at Consummers. Came home at 5: Jerry came about 6:15 & they left right after for choir practice, Jerry Dean & Dale. Ivard & Jackie went to church at 7:10. I watched T.V. & had sandwiches cake ect. ready when they got home. I stayed up & watched T.V. until 11:30, rest went to bed

Mr. Jones, Genes girls father, came & stayed all nite, from Seattle; rained in nite - cloudy - Sunny

I called Simplot & got 3 day leave of absence I'm flowing so heavy.

Ivard got up & took Dale on paper route then went back to bed. Jerry fixed Genes lunch & he went to work & at 8: Dean & Jerry went to work. I can hardly walk around Ivard took Dale collecting & watched ball game. Jackie scrubbed bathroom, dineing room & Kitchen, I swept them for her.

I pained most of day, tri-chem.

Ivard too k Dale up to church to go to Caldwell for Scout Arama at noon 3: & took Jackie up to Gails to play, then he came home about 5: & Ivard took him up to church to Run some things off on mimeograph & Jerry & Dean went & got him at 6:30, after they came home, & met Mr. Jones, Genes girl friends father, who called & brought him out & he had supper & Stayed all nite. Jerry & Dean went to Boise to show. Gene got home at 8: & cleaned up & we ate & he had to go do business Dale went to Caldwell again. Gene got Jackie about 9:30. We visited with Mr. Jones & watched T.V. Father didn't work today.

I came home from work drownded & had to wash all my cloths. It was 9:30 when I went to bed. Father was still in bed, he'd been up & taken Dale on paper route.

Ivard washed & polished dodge. He got me up at 1:30 & we went to school & picked Dale up & droped him off at Dr. Lees to have tooth pulled & we went up to Albertson's & had dinner then went up & got car from Jerry & Ivard went to Boise to work. I got groc. & picked Dale up & we sat at school waiting for Dean from 3:25 to 4:05 then came home & just got in house when he called so I went & got him & took him up to Minor Breckens to start work on his summer job. Came home & got supper & at 6: went & got Dean & Jerry & we ate. & Jerry planted flowers & Dean went to Seminary Party bowling. I went to bed at 7:45! Gene woke me at 12: so I called in Sick, I was flowing so heavy.

I came home from work so tired I went right to bed & Ivard was still in bed & gave me a good rub down, I was froze. I never woke up until 5:

Jerry got ready & went to show with Rodney Hennis. Dean did up dishes & studied.

I went to bed but didn't go to sleep. Gene had to come in & talk & Sis & Dale.

I went to work after 5 nites off

Cloudy, windy all morning - Sunny & nice in afternoon. I got up at 9:, feel better this morning. Ivard got up & took Dale on paper route & went back to bed, Dale stayed home from school.

I washed sock batch & everything else up & did all the iorning & got it put up. Ivard did dishes & watched T.V. & went back to bed again.

He got up & cooked Steak & left for work in Boise at 3:, had to go trade Jerry cars. Dean had to walk home from school but got ride so didnt.

I got supper & we ate when Jerry got home & Dean & Dale went to Piano lessons

I had bath & went to bed at 7: I went back to work tonite after 5 nites. Plant down 2 & I was sick next 3. Ivard got home at 9:30

Ivard worked at Boise.

Took Dale to dentist, abcess in jaw

windy & Sunny - cool in house

I still feel awful. I didn't get up until 10:30 then I sat & crocheted. Ivard went up & got me some thread for Genes pants & brake fluid for dodge.

I fixed Ivard a lunch & he went to work at Boise at 3:

I got up at 6: & fixed Gene lunch because he fasted from noon on yesterday.

I washed a batch of cloths & patched & when Dale came from school his jaw had big goose eff from tooth so I called Dr Lee & he had me bring him up at 5: & he opened the abcess us so it would drain & I had to go get him some penicillan. Came home & Dean had Supper ready & Gene got home early, so windy & we ate after fasting for Ray. Jerry - Dean & Jackie went to Mutual 3 act play & Gene bathed & went & got hair cut & some new shoes. Dale was in bed Sick. We watched  T.V. Ivard to home at 9:30. I didn't feel like going to work again.

Sunny - windy - cloudy - rained a little this evening.

I feel awful, pain in my head, neck & shoulder. I didn't get up very early then I sat & payed Scrabble with father.

He got called to Boise for 3:30 so I fixed him dinner & took him up to Nampa floral to trade cars with Jerry & he went to work & I came home & did some patching & washed 2 or 3 batches of cloths

Made Dean a Salad for Growl picnic at Park at 5: He came home from school & went up to Minor Breckems about Job interview then came home & we took him up to Lakeview Park droped Dale off to collect. We went over & waited for Jerry & I crocheted. We ate at different times. Ray ask us to fast & pray until tomorrow nite for him. He has a virus inf. Jerry planted some flowers then went & got Dale & went up & got Dean & J. & D. went to Boise to genealogy class. Gene got home about 8:

Lyle & Gail & families came

Ray called for Mothers day.

cloudy Sunny - real blustery tonite.

Jerry & Dale went on Paper route & Ivard - Gene - Dean & Dale went to Priesthood. I had bath & made macaroni salad & Jackie & I went to Sunday S. mother day programe, Jerry had to work at floral all day. We came home & ate & watched "Windows of Heaven" & Ivard & I played Scrabble then Lyle came & we played crocquet & Kids played ball.

I got a lane cedar chest & Dale, Dean & Gene gave me a dress, Jerry a huge plant with 5 blooms as big as plates & chrysathum. Lyle & Barbra gave me a straw perse & Kids a green glass candy bowl. Kay sent a crocheted hanger & a big bottle of Lilac bubble bath & Gail brought me one like it. They went home at 9: & we had snack. Jerry Dean & Gene went to church & Jerry went with Nancy after.

hot & breezy. I got up early & started in. changed all the beds & washed 9 batches of cloths & carried over to neighbors & hung out. I iorned 57 pieces.

Ivard came home & went right to bed until noon then he took Dale collecting on his route then came home & took Jackie up & Andree cut her hair & he got some tomatoes from Jerry & came home & was just planting them when he got called to work on wrecker.

Dean went to work with Gene all day & Me & Jackie did most of work. I cooked a roast for tomorrow & ham & lima beans for today. Kids all got home late & bathed & went to bed. Gene watched T.V with me. Ivard got home at midnite.

I came home from work & Ivard was already home & in bed. I dont feel very good I went to bed & never got up until this afternoon then I didn't do any thing. washed a batch of cloths. Gene changed jobs because he could work all summer for this guy.

Dale went collecting, Ivard took him, & I fixed supper & we ate when Kids came.

Ivard went to bed & went to work at 11:30 & I stayed up & watched show.

I came home & Ivard was home & in bed & I went to bed. Ivard got me up at 3:  I got ready & went up to Superior Western & Andre cut my hair & tinted it then I went & got Jackie from Primary & we came home. I fixed Kids supper before I left.

Had bath & Ivard & I & Dean went up to Community Center to Junior Senior Seminary banquet. real nice roast beef dinner. got home at 9:30 & Laid down hr. & went to work.

Jerry went to his Sunday S. class party & Gene went up to Gails & Jackie stayed over to neighbors until we got home. I went to work at 11:

Cloudy & hot this afternoon.

I came home & Ivard was home & in bed & I went right to bed.

Jerry took Dale & Jackie to school on way to work.

I got up at 2:45 & washed 2 batches of cloths & fixed strawberries & got supper.

We ate when Jerry got home from work. Gene got home right after. He started work for a farmer today at $1.50 hr.

Jerry worked in flowers & Gene had bath & read & father has read all afternoon

Dean & Dale went to Piano L. & Jackie did dishes.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivard went to work at 11:30.

I came home & Ivard was home & in bed. Gene was on milk route with Gail & Jerry left for work & took Dale & Jackie right after I got home

I ate & read paper & went to bed. We got up 1: & went to Bank & paid bills, got groc. & Ivard got hair cut & we got Gene Rays bank draft. Came home at 3: & washed 2 batches cloths & made some tea. Picked over strawberries for supper & got Supper

Gail brought Gene about 4: & took Dale up to collect & Jerry brought him home. Dean didn't get home from school until Jerry came, went to Library. We ate & Kids left early for Mutual & Gene went up & went to Hawian Louou with Gail. Ivard & Jackie did dishes I wrote Ray & Kids took to mail. Went to bed at 7: Ivard went to work at 11:30 & I went at 11:

I came home from work & Jerry & Dale were home from Paper route. Ivard got off eary was home at 6: AM.

Ivard - Jerry - Gene - Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & S.S. & Jerry came home & took Jackie. Ivard & Sis came home after S.S. & the rest of them Stayed to Sacrament meeting. I stayed up & had dinner ready when they got home at 2:30, roast beef, potatoes, gravy salad, frozen peas & hot rolls cake & Jello. washed 3 batches cloths & got books up. Ivard had to leave at 3: to work in Boise. I went to bed at 3:15 until time to go to work
