Thursday, May 31, 1962

I got up & took Jerry to work Ivard came home today & brought his check, He painted the 2nd coat on Kids woodwork & went to bed. took Kids to Primary at 10: & got them at 11: and Ray, Dean & I took Dale & Jackie over to Gails to play & we went & put Ray, Dean, Dale & my money in Caldwell bank then went to Simplots & got my check & back to Nampa & paid place & put money in bank for Kay & put in my Xmas Savings club & Savings acc. Went back to Gails & stayed an hr & got Kids, & I went & signed up for unemployment. Came home & Dean got invited to a dancing Party at attorney Shillers so I took him up & had a hair cut & Jerry gave him the money to get a pr pants & shirt to wear. Came home & ate & Ray went to work at Dairy Q. at 6:

Ivard cleaned Kids floor ready to wax tomorrow. Jerry & I took Dean to Party at 7:15 then I took Ivard up to go to G.F. I watched T.V. went & got Dean at 11:30 & went & got Ray at D.Q. at midnite.

Wednesday, May 30, 1962

I washed some cloths all morning. I took Ray up to church at 9: & he went to Idaho City with his sunday school class on party got home at 11:, been with Phill.

Jerry didn't have to work at Paint store today but he had to work for Ray from 10: until 6: then he went visiting.

I spent the morning makeing potatoe salad, barbacue ect. & Ivard got the Kids bed room walls & ceiling painted & their closet, ceiling lite brown & walls darker brown & wood work Dean & I got 1st coat on wood work.

Gail called & said we'd go to Park but we waited & waited & every one was starved so we ate on lawn. just got it cleared up when they came & we all went to Givin's with them. They ate their lunch in Park there then we all went swimming. Got home at 7:30 & Ivard left for Glenns Ferry at 8:30. watched T.V.

Tuesday, May 29, 1962

Ivard got up & took Jerry to work & Ray went at 9:30.

I washed cloths all day. We painted my bed room woodwork 2nd coat, write enamel then Ivard & Dean cleaned the floor with wood cleaner & after it dried 2 hrs. he put paste wax on & I used the floor polisher & polished it, then we got our cloths put in closet & our bed in room & dresser & got our bed made.

Ivard went & got Jerry & Ray at 6: & we ate.

Ivard went up town this afternoon & got some caster holders to put under my bed.

Jerry & Ray left after supper & at 8: we went up & got groc. for tomorrow & went over to Gails & got Jackie & there they sat. We stoped at Dairy Q. on way home for drink & there they were again.

Ivards nite off.

Monday, May 28, 1962

Cloudy & windy

Ray took Jerry to work. Dean made waffles & they ate.

Ivard got home at 6:30 & went to bed, got up at 9:30 when I took Ray up to Dairy Q to work, started steady

Jerry helped get the big bed out of back room & Dean got it cleaned up ready to paint & Ivard painted walls & ceiling & Dean & I painted 1st coat of wood work. pained ceiling white & walls rose.

I washed cloths all day in between.

Ivard went & got Jerry & Ray & we ate and Jerry, Ray & Dean went to Mutual. We went to bed early.

Ivards nite off.

Kids back bed room is going to be ours now.

Gail came this morning & took Jackie home & she stayed all nite.

Sunday, May 27, 1962

nicer today.

I was so sick all nite & today.

I didn't go to church at all. I read paper in bed & Jerry - Ray & Dean went to Priesthood. Ray came back after little Kids for sunday school. I got up & got Sis ready & played Salataire & made a meat loaf for dinner. Kids came & we ate at 2: & they did dishes & Jerry Ray - Dean & Jackie went over to Gails all afternoon; came home at 6:30. While they were gone I cut out 8 blouses for Jackie, 2 pr. pants & a apron.

Dale went to Butlers after S.S. & came home from church.

Jerry - Ray & Dean went to church & Jackie & I watched T.V. & I legthened the sleeves on Rays first suit so Dean can wear it.

We went to bed at 11: when Ray got home.

Saturday, May 26, 1962

Went to Adrian.

I washed 4 batches of cloths & iorned until noon.

Jerry got up & went to work before I woke up.

Ray got up and scrubbed & cleaned up house, Dean helped.

Ivard came from G. F. about 10:30.

Jerry got home at 12:30 & we ate at 1: & got ready & Ivard & I, Ray, Dean, Dale & Jackie went & got Kurt Kotter & went to Adrian to ball game. Prairie City beat 2 to 1. Adrian is out of pre-tournment now talked to Gene a few min.

It really rained on us comeing home, stoped & had root beer.

Jerry worked at Dairy Q. tonite, they go so busy they called Ray up too.

Dean went bowling with Gregg K.

Gail came a few min.

Ivard went to bed until 9:30 & drove back to G. F. I watched T.V. until midnite.

Friday, May 25, 1962

Kids all passed

Got pr earrings & sock from Lyle for Mothers Day.

stormy - cloudy - some rain

I got up & took Jerry to work & read paper. Kids went to school for last day

Ivard came from Glenns Ferry at 9:30 and him & Jackie took me to Boise to Dr. Cudmore. I gained 4 lbs. My blood pressure is a bit high. We got back to Nampa at noon & went to bank & mailed my payments. Came home & Ivard & Jackie went to bed and I went to Kotters to borrow a pattern & stayed & gabbed until 4:30. fixed supper & went with Ivard & Ray to get Jerry. Went early & looked at cars.

We ate & Ray went bowling with Phil, Jerry.

Ivard left for G. F.

Jerry went & got us all a milk shake. He went to bed early & I watched T.V.

Thursday, May 24, 1962

I rained all nite & never stoped once today.

I got up & took Jerry to work & Dean to school, Dale had already gone. I got Ray up at 8:30 & took him to school.

I played Salatair & listed to Scot Carpenter, gone around the earth 3 times.

I iorned Jackie's cloths & took her to Primary, she didn't feel very good today. I got supper & went & got Kids from Primary & at 6: I went & got Jerry & we ate and Jerry took Ray up to Dairy Queen to work at 6:30

Jerry took Dale up to church to Cub Scout Pack meeting & he went over to see the Bishop.

I watched T.V.

Gene came over for graduation but didn't come home. Ray saw him at dairy q.

Wednesday, May 23, 1962

stormy all day - Rained On & off. then tonite.

Ivard finished fixing fence after he got home at noon from getting car fixed. Took it when he took Jerry to work. I didn't wake up until 9:30 & Ray was still asleep. He didn't go to school until noon.

I iorned 29 pieces.

I went & signed up at 2:30 for unemployment.

Ivard & Jackie bathed & had a nap.

I got supper on & went after Jerry & we ate & Jerry Ran Ray up to Dairy queen to work at 6:30. to 10:30.

Jerry went to M-Men. Gleaners with Mrs Murry

I took Ivard up to go to Glenns Ferry at 8:15. We had a fight over money as usual. Got books up. went to bed at 10:45

Tuesday, May 22, 1962

nice today

I took Jerry to work & Kids went to school.

Ivard worked on fence all day at 10:00 Jackie & I went to relief society then after they had the closeing social, a luncheon. It was sure nice, had card tables to eat on & programe. Jackie Melissa & Brenda danced 2 numbers. Had Turkey, salad, hard rolls - olives, beets carrot sticks, celery, pickles - punch & desert. I won a table decoration on my place card number. Came home & got Ivard & went & got lawn mower out of repaire, went to bank, paid bills & got groc. then we went over to Gails, after we came home, & took his mower, picked Jerry up & came home & ate. Jerry went to Mutual meeting & the missionaries came for half hr to get aquainted. Then Ray tended Kids & Ivard & I went to "Nampa Drive In"

Monday, May 21, 1962

Went to Adrian to class nite

Ivard came home from Glenns Ferry & woke me up when  he came to bed. I got up & took Jerry to work & Kids went to school.

I changed Jerrys & Rays bed & washed 7 batches of cloths and did a little patching. Ivard got up at noon & fixed fence, calves keep getting out. Jerry came home for lunch & brought stuff & fixed for all of us.

I cooked a roast & got supper & we ate when Ivard got home with Jerry & Ray took Jerry & Dean to Mutual then Ivard & I - Ray- Dale & Jackie went to Adrian to class nite. Gene got a letter for Track & baseball. Seniors went to Boise after.

We got home at 10:30

Ivards nite off.

Sunday, May 20, 1962

Gene graduated from High School at Adrian Oregon.

Ivard came home from Glenns Ferry & went to bed. I read paper in bed & got my Sunday School lesson.

Ivard took Jerry over to Dr. Daines at 8:30 to go to Homedale for High Counsel, got home at 2:30.

I took Ray & Dean to Priesthood and had a bath & me - Dale & Jackie went to sunday school. Came home & grabbed a sandwich & Jerry & I went to Stake house to S.S. leadership. Came home at 4:30 & stoped at D.Q. & had a Sundee.

At 6: we all left for Adrian to Gene's baccalaret & graduation. We gave him presents after & took picture & came home, he couldn't come. We got home at 10:20 & Ivard changed cloths & left for Glenns Ferry in car. We went to bed.

Rained most of nite.

Saturday, May 19, 1962

Got Federal Income tax back.

sent Kay a letter

Rained torrents all morning & evening

Jerry got up & went to work. I got up at 9:30 & helped Dean get breakfast. Made waffles & cocoa. Ray got up & ate & went back to bed.

I got books up & wrote Kay a long letter.

Jerry came from work and worked on his room & things.

Ray got up at noon & cleaned & scrubbed up the house.

Dale & I played a game of Scrabble & Ray - Jerry - Jackie & I went up & got Jackies dance pictures.

I ordered some fuel oil, it got so cold.

We ate and Ray took car & took some Kids to Givins swimming. Jerry went & worked at Dairy Queen a little while then went to M-Men stuff. I watched T.V.

Friday, May 18, 1962

Got laid off at Simplots

Got letter from Mother

Ivard had $24. stole

We got laid off for Summer, am I ever happy. I came home & took Ray to school, it was raining - rained half the night & half of today.

Ivard was home from Glenns Ferry, we ate & I read paper & we took Jackie & went to bed at 11:. Ivard slept but I Kept trying to get her to sleep. After she woke up they got up & I slept awhile.

Jerry came home for lunch.

I got up at 3: & picked over strawberries & fixed for short cake & made 2 qts blue cheese salad dressing & put a big Steak on to cook & Dean tended it & Ivard & Jackie droped Ray & I off up town & they went over to Gails & borrowed his lawn mower. Ray & I got him some cloths & Jackie a suit & presents for Genes graduation. Got Jerry & came home & ate & Jerry went ward teaching & Dean then Jerry went on date. Ray went to Seminary Party. Ivard walked up to Carrols to go to Glenns F. I watched 77 Sunset Strip & went to bed.

Ray quit Thoryn Printing

Sunny - warm - breezy

I got up & took Jerry to work & Kids went to school. cleaned up & washed 5 batches of cloths.

At noon Jackie & I went to store & bought $30 worth of groc. came home & put them away & went to Caldwell & got Jackie some rollar skates with Gold Strike stamps & a black shelf for bath room & black brush holder & pink & black shower curtain. Stoped at Tam Sam & had our lunch, fries, hamberger & drink. Came home & had a nap & got up & got supper after I took Ray to work & got them at 5: Gail, Lynda & Kids came awhile & took Ray up to Dairy Queen to work when they left at 6:30. Jerry went to M-Men doings

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Wednesday, May 16, 1962

Jackies dance recital

nice day. rained a little tonite

I came home & went right to bed. I got up at 3: & fixed supper made a Tamale pie & Dean made a tapioca pudding. Jackie went to Primary with Debbie as her guest.

Ivard & Jackie were over to Gails this morning

Ray went to work at Thorns after school & Ivard picked him up when he went after Jerry & we ate & Ray went & worked at Dairy queen until midnite. Jerry went to M Men Gleaners.

At 7:30 Ivard, & I, Dean, Dale & Jackie went to Central to Jackies dance recital it was real good & Jackie & her class did good. Ivard left from there & drove pick-up to Glenns Ferry, alone, at 10:15. Jerry met us there & we went up & had a cool got home at 10:45. I laid off.

Tuesday, May 15, 1962

I came home from work and put some cloths to wash & got mad at Ivard because he wouldn't go pay bills and I went to bed. I never did get to sleep so I got up at 1: & we went to bank and paid bills & got a few groc. I finished makeing Jackies dance costume.

We had supper, Jackie & I, at 4:30. We laid down at 3: I didn't go to sleep but Ivard & Jackie did. We woke her at 4: to have a bath & at 4:45 I took her up to Central J. H. S. to dance recital rehersal. We left at 9:30 & it was just a little over half done. I was dead. I laid down hr but tried to hard to sleep & couldn't. never had one wink today. I went to work at 11: Jerry was to meeting

Ray worked at dairy queen. Ivards nite off.

Monday, May 14, 1962

I came home from work & cleaned up & washed some cloths after I took Jackie to dance practice at 9: we got home at 10:15 & Ivard was home from Glenns Ferry.

I went to bed & Ivard & Jackie. We were about asleep when Gail, Lynda & Kids came. I pertended I was asleep but Jackie got up & played for hr. & they left & I got her back to bed.

I got up at 5: & went down to Kotters & made Jackie's apple hat for dance recital

Dean fixed supper & Ivard went & got Jerry & we ate & Kids went to Mutual.

Ray worked at Dairy queen all afternoon & tonite.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Sunday, May 13, 1962

I came home from work & went to bed & read paper. Ivard was home & in bed, came home for Mothers day. I got made at him because he wouldn't go to church, stayed home to sleep & watched ball game. I got up at 11: & showered & Ray came & got us for S.S. had programme & got a plant. Came home & Gail, Lynda & Kids were here. Jerry fixed dinner & we ate at 2:30, had roast ham, potatoe salad, cottage cheese pork & beans, olives, radishes, onions Punch icecream & special Mother day cake. Gail left at 3:30 to go to work & Ivard, Jackie , & I went to bed - Kids did dishes & all went to church but Ray, he had to work at Dairy queen. Ivard left at 8: for Glenns Ferry & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Got letter & Mother day card from Kay

got a plant from Kids - delivered

cloudy & cool

Jerry got up & went to work & Ray. I stayed in bed until 9:30 then made Kids hot cake & cocoa - I have awful head ache, washed 2 batches of cloths & got books up.

Ivard didn't come home today

Dean moped & cleaned up the house.

I went to bed this afternoon I felt so bad.

We ate & Jerry & Dean went to store & got a ham roast, steaks & bunch of stuff for tomorrow

We lost Dale, off playing at neighbors.

I went to bed at 8: until time to go to work. felt better when I woke up.

Ray worked at Dairy queen tonite.

Friday, May 11, 1962

Got letter & mother day card from Claudia

sent Mother Card - letter & $10.

Jerry got Stake M-M President.

I took Jerry to work after he took Ray to Seminary.

Ivard came home & went to bed.

I made the ruffles for Jackies costume & wrote mother & at 1:30 Ivard got up to tend Sis & I went up & mailed mothers card & got crepe paper for costume & went to Kotters all afternoon & did dance costumes. Came home at 4: & took Ray to work & spent all rest of day doing Sis's costume. Dean got supper. I made jello salad this morning for Jerrys Stake M Men-Gleaner banquet & one for supper. Ivard got Jerry & he left at 6:15 for Caldwell.

We ate & Ray & Dean went to Stake House to Priesthood party & Ivard left for Glenns Ferry. I watched 77 Sunset Strip & me & Jackie went to bed. I laid off.

Thursday, May 10, 1962

I got up & took Jerry to work, he took Ray to Seminary. Kids went to school. I cleaned up a bit & washed 6 batches of cloths & iorned all day.

Gail Lynda & Kids came for awhile. Sis took a fit to go with them & I licked her & made her go to bed.

I got ready at 3:30 & Jackie & I took Ray to work and went to Primary Mother day programme. I got a orchid corsage (artificial) came home & got Dean going on Supper then went up & bought Mother a mother day card & got Jerry from work & got groc.

We ate and Jerry went to work at Dairy queen, I took him then Jackie & I went down to Kotters to work on dance costume. came home at 10: & went to bed. I laid off.

Wednesday, May 9, 1962

I came home from work and went to bed until noon. I was sick & laid off work for next 3 nites.

The guy in Caldwell Ivard goes to work with called Ivard to come & help him pour cement a couple of hrs so he took Jackie to dance practice & took my dimes to bank on way, left at 1:30.

Gene came home a couple of times for few min, with Marvin H. & couple of other Kids. Came over for Sage Day & got his Sage.

I got up at 1:30 & went & got Sis from dance practice & we went to bank & put Kays money in & put some in Savings & Xmas club.

I got supper & we ate & Jerry went to work at Dairy Queen - Dean & Ray went to do beets, Ray went back to Thorns after. Ivard went to Glenns F. & I went to bed.

Tuesday, May 8, 1962

I came home from work & went right to bed. Ivard was still in bed. woke up at 12: when phone rang & Ivard took right off. I got up & read paper & got books up & went back to bed at 1:45 but never did go to sleep wondering if one of Kids were hurt & that where Ivard had gone. He came about 3:30 he'd been over helping Gail with plow. he didn't bring Jackie home he went & got her when he went after Jerry.

Ray went to work after school.

Jerry went away to hospital

We ate and I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivard went up to baseball tournment, his nite off.

Monday, May 7, 1962

sent Kay 4 pr. socks & 2 ties in mag. & cost $3.20 air mail.

Sunny & windy - rained tonite a little

I came home from work & washed 3 batches of cloths & went to bed at 11: Ivard was home when I got home. I got dizzy at work & they made me go to bed for 3 1/2 hrs in nurse

Gail came & got tractor & cultivators ect. made 2 or 3 trips. woke me up at 2: & I couldn't go back to sleep. Ivard took Jackie up to Special dance practice. Debbie was here & she stayed with him

I got up again at 4: (didn't sleep) & fixed supper & Ivard went & got Jerry & we ate. Gail & Lynda came just as we got through & they ate. Jerry - Ray & Dean went to Mutual - Ray went from work to play practice.

I went to bed at 7:30 & couldnt sleep again.

Jackie went home to spend nite with Gail & Lynda came to bed at 8:30, his nite off.

Sunday, May 6, 1962

Sunny.

I read paper & got my sunday school lesson in bed. I got up & took Jerry, Ray & Dean to priesthood. Dale & Jackie had a bath & I had a shower & we were about late for sunday school because Gail & Lynda & Kids came. I finally locked door & we all left.

stayed to Testimony meeting. Got home at 2:30 & got dinner & ate & Jackie & I went to bed & had a nap. Jerry & Ray took off.

We went to church at 7: Primary Programe. Ray didn't stay. Jerry went to Fireside.

Me & little Kids went up & had a cool, got gas & came home & I went to bed until time to go to work

I got dizzy so I slept in nurses room 3 hrs.

Saturday, May 5, 1962

Nice day.

I got up & took Jerry to work & Ray.

Ivard came home again today. He went to bed awhile then watched ball game.

At 10: I took Dean up to Dr. Daines & had his eyes tested, school nurse said too, he was near sighted in one eye but not bad enough to get glassed. Went & got his hair cut  then picked Jerry up & we went & Jerry bought some groc. Came home & sewed Jackies jumper & dance costume all afternoon finished them all but buttons & button holes. Ivard & Dale went up & had hair cut.

We ate & Ivard took Jerry up to Dairy queen to work at 6:

Dean cleaned front room & changed it around. Ivard slept awhile & I took him up to go to G. Ferry at 8:30 watched T.V.

Friday, May 4, 1962

Got letter from Kay

nice day

I came home from work, have next 2 nites off, and went to bed for awhile.

Ivard came home from Glenns Ferry & went down to Kotters & got me a pattern for Jackies dance outfit then they took car up & had oil change, greese job, new filter & head lites.

I got up at noon & washed some cloths and cut Jackie out her dance blouse & bloomers & a jumper to match, for later and got quite a bit sewed.

Dean got supper when he came.

Ivard slept awhile. He walked up to go to work because Jerry & Ray were messing around with car.

I went to bed early.

Thursday, May 3, 1962

I came home from work & ate and got my books up & washed a batch of cloths & read 2 days paper & at 11: Jackie & I went to bed. We got up at 1:30 & hung cloths out and fixed Sis lunch.

Ivard didn't come home today.

I took Ray to work & Jackie to Primary then I went up town & paid Hales and got Jackies dance material. picked Kids up at Primary & went & got them an icecream cone.

got cloths in & Dean fixed supper. I went & got Jerry & we ate.

I went to bed until time to go to work, didn't sleep much.

Wednesday, May 2, 1962

rained from 3: A.M until morning. Partly cloudy today.

I came home from work & went right to bed. Ivard tended Sis & watered, fixed chicken coop & went over to Gails awhile & took lawn mower home.

I stayed in bed all day, got up at 4:30 & helped Dean fix supper. We ate when Ivard got home with Jerry he didn't come home from takeing Ray to work until then thats when he was at Gails. He took Sis to dancing at 1: Mrs. Hatch didn't want any one with them today.

Ivard & I went to bed at 7: & Jerry went up to play practice.

Ivard left at 8:30 to drive back to Glenns Ferry.

sunny & warm, partly cloudy in afternoon

I came home from work & went right to bed. Jerry woke me up at 12: & said cows we out & I helped him get them in then here came Ivard, they'd been over to Gails to take Kristines birthday present & borrow mower.

We went up town & got material for Jackies dance costume & a jumper & got groc.

Came home & hung cloths & Ivard cut part of lawn & at 2:30 we went to Adrian to ball game but it wasn't until nite so I came back home & Ivard & Jackie went with Gene & came home with Gail & Lynda at 11: I stoped in Caldwell & had hamberger. got home at 5: & went right to bed  until time to go to work but couldnt sleep much.

Ray - Jerry & Dean went up to church to sell candy & Jerry to faculty meet.
