Came home from California

Ray broke his foot

Rain _ Rain _ floods

Gene came home for week

got up & Packed & ate & went to leave for home & windshield wipers still wouldn't work so they took it all apart & oiled it & it was ok.  It was 10 min. to 10: when we finally left & it was raining torrents when we got going up to the Donnar Pass it was starting to flood, the hard rain had melted yesterdays 42 inches of snow & what was there before.  It was racing down all the glullies & ravines in torents & the river was swishing & Tumbling & shooting 20 feet in air, carring logs & rubbish.  We got some movies of it but it was raining so hard, I hope they are good.  Water was over hyway in a lot of places & they closed the road after we got threw the last big puddle & nearly stalled.  When we came down other side water was over road all along the lake.  When we got comeing down from Jordan Valley the hyway was covered with water in 8 places.  got home at 11:30 & Nampa was pilled with snow but rain was melting it they'd had a good foot.  Jerry had just got Ray home from hospital, broke his foot in tournament they won.  at midnite in walked Gene, Dave & Marvin got in on bus from Rexburg.  I fixed them something to eat & we all got to bed.

Wednesday, January 30, 1963

rained all last nite & all day today.

got up & ate & did dishes & read paper.

Lyle, Ivard & Joe spent most of day chaseing around fixing car ready to go home.

Played Penochle until we ate dinner then we did the dishes and played games & sat around.

We had supper and Lyle went to mutual then he came home & Ivard went with him out to base to play ball.  When they got back we played Penochle Ivard, Lyle, Barb & I.  All the rest of them had gone to bed.

Lyle had to fly at 2: A.M.  We went to bed at midnite still raining.

Tuesday, January 29, 1963

went to Sacramento - Calif.

Joe Metcalf woke us up at 3: A.M & at 3:30 we were on our way to Calif.  We were going in Our car but Joe wanted to try his out.  There was snow on road most of the way & out of Winnamucca they were packed & icy we went all over the road & I thought we would end up in ditch but Ivard streightened it out.  It blizzared all way over Donnar's Pass & was raining in Sacramento and never stoped today, first they've had in 43 days.  We got to Lyles at 2:30.  We ate supper _ visited & played games.

It was 11:30 time we went to bed.  Lyle left for base at 11: to work.

They had just got home before we got here with Terry, from hospital at Travis.  He got better so fast he didn't have to be Kept in Isolation like they thought he would.

Monday, January 28, 1963

called Gene for his birthday

cloudy all day & snowed enough this afternoon to cover the ground.

Gene is 19 today, I called him tonite.

I took Jerry up to work at D.q. at 11: after he got back from unemployment office & he bought me a drink.

I changed all the beds & washed 7 batches of cloths & crocheted in between

Mr. Metcalf came from 11:30 to 2:30 said he'd buy gas if we went to Calif. & got his wife so we're going in morning.  Ivard shoed all our movies while he was here.  when he left Ivard went to work & I went up & drew 25. out of my Savings, got few groc. & gased up then stoped at D.q. & had hamberger & drink & Mr. Johnson showed me some of his collection in his office.  Came home & Dean & I made all the beds & Ray fixed super & I went & got Jerry & we ate & Ray & Dean went to mutual & droped Jerry off at Murrys to officers meeting.  I phoned Gene, laid off ect. & packed to go in morning Iorned me 2 dresses.  went to bed at 11:30.

Sunday January 27, 1963

Sunny - nice.

I got up & had a shower & help Sis get ready & at 9: Ivard & I, Jerry - Dean Dale & Jackie went to Stake conference we were early enough to get a seat in chapel.  Dale had to Sing with Stake Primary courase chorus.  There was a General board member from Primary & one from relief society here It was real good.  we came home & hurried & fixed lunch & ate & Jerry _ Dean, Dale & Jackie went back for afternoon Session.  We droped Ivard off at Dairy q. to get his car so he could go to work at 3: then he went home & did up dishes & had us a fire in fire place when we got home.

Ray worked 9: to 5:, opened up, I went & got him at 5: & he bought me a drink.

Jerry went to nite Session & fire side after.  Me & Kids watched T.V. and they got to bed early.

Ivard got home at 10:30 & went to bed I stayed up till it went off the air.

Saturday, January 26, 1963

Sunny & not very cold.

Came home & went right to bed with Ivard, I was froze to death.  I never did get to sleep, it was so noisy.  I got up at 10:30 & took Dale up to Alexanders & got him a new suit & they measured him to fix pants, got him a belt & bow tie & a school shirt & Dean a school shirt & pr. pajamas.  Came home at 11:30 & Ivard took Dale to his last basketball game, they won & are now in tournament, 1st place.

Dean cleaned house & I washed some cloths & iorned all afternoon.

Ray worked at D.q. 9:30 to 6: & Jerry worked from 6: to 12:30.

Ivard worked 3: to 11:, we had dinner before he left.

Dean made a cake for tomorrow.

Mrs Kotter came at 10: P.M. & cut & washed my hair & we visited awhile.  watched T.V.

I went to bed at 11:30, after Ivard got home, & he stayed up & watched last show & went & got Jerry at 12:30.

Friday, January 25, 1963

got letter from Lyle

Cloudy - Sunny Snow flurries, cold wind snowed little during last nite not on roads.

I came home from work at 8:30 & read paper & at 9: I went to bed.  Jackie woke me up at 4: to get supper.

Ray didn't go to School today, him & Jerry messed around & tended Sis.

Ivard went to work at 7: A.M. till 3:

Ray won a camera in national Ramble contest, lucky number in Readers Digest.

I made hamburgers & Ray bought buns, potatoe chips & all the trimmings & fixed soda's for desert (icecream)

Jerry went to work at D.q. 6: to 10:30, Ray took him up.

Dean & Dale did dishes.

Ray had to play in Basketball Tournament at Stake House so Ivard, Dean, Dale, & Jackie went with him.  They won.

I went to bed until time to go to work.  I rode with Arleen tonite a bunch more got called back.

got our new Piano got letter from Kay

Sunny & not very cold

I got up & made syrup & Dean mixed up hot cakes & I cooked them.

Kids went to school & Ivard, Jackie & I went to Caldwell & got my check & drew some money out of Genes account for him then we came back to Nampa & got our car from garage $120.  got groc & came home & Jerry went up to see about job.  He came home at 3: & Ivard drove me up to sign up for unemployment we stoped at D.q. & I had a drink & Mr. Johnsson Jerry to come work 3 hrs early so we came home & I took him up at 3:, to 9:

I crocheted.  Ray came home at 3:30 & I took Jackie to Primary then at 5: Ray & I went & got her & Dale & went up to Alexanders & ordered Dale a new suit to sing in conference came home & fixed supper & we ate & Dean & Dale did dishes.

They delivered our new Piano at 7: P.M

Jackie & I went to bed at 7:30.

I got up at 10:30 & got ready & went back to work at Simplots.  I drove.

I got up at 7: & cooked breakfast & Ivard took car up to Dobbs to have transmission overhauled & they let him take another car to use until tomorrow.

Kids went to school.

I washed 3 batches of cloths & crocheted

Jerry went to work at 11:, walked.

Ivards day off.

I had supper all ready when Kids got home at 4: & we ate & at 4:30 Ivard & I, Dean, Dale & Jackie took Ray up to D.q to finish working for Jerry till 6: & Jerry went to Weiser with us to take Gails birthday present.  Gail was in MCCall till the next night, deliverying for guy who broke his leg.  We visited until 7: then we went to Middleton to basketball tournament & watched Ray get beat by Caldwell.

got home at 10: & got Kids to bed & watched last show.  Ray came home with us from game & we stoped at D.q. & he bought us all a drink.

at 10:30 I got called back to work at Simplots for tomorrow nite.

This morning Ivard, Jackie & I went up to "Melody Lane" & bought a brand new Kimball Spinet Piano for $695.

Tuesday, January 22, 1963

Sunny & warm.

never got up until after Kids went to school again.  Read paper & washed a batch of cloths

Ivard took car to garage but they couldn't work on it until tomorrow.  He stoped at Don's Service Station & washed it, it was really dirty.

car was gone so Jerry walked to work at Dairy q. 11: to 6:

I crocheted most of day then we had lunch & Ivard & I played 2 games of annagrams.  He went to work at 3: & Jackie & I got ready & went to dancing class, came home at 5:30 & had Ray eat then I took him up to work at D.q. 6: to close & brought Jerry home & we ate.  I had big Keltle of ham & beans cooked

Jerry went to M-Men & Gleaners "Bridge & Groom" nite up to church.

Dean did dishes & made cookies

Dale & Jackie went to bed at 8:30.  I crocheted & watched T.V. Jerry stoped in at 10:30 & gave me the big boquet of white chrysmuns they had at Party, took alice home.  He came right back, watched T.V until it was off.  Ivard went & got Ray.

Gail was 26 today

I never got up until 10:, I have such a cold, Ivard didn't either.

I didn't do any thing all day, but wipe my nose.

Jerry went up town to bank for me & he had a job interview.

I fixed lunch & Ivard went to work at 3:00, we played anagrams & watched T.V. first

I took Jerry up to work at Dairy q. at 5: till close.

at 6: Ray was over to Yorgensons to Progressive Supper for Explorers & the corresponding girls after they had a tournament game. won

We ate & Dean did dishes and walked up to Corner & went to Mutual with Bishop.  Dale & Jackie went to bed at 8:15.  I crocheted & watched T.V. when Ivard came home at 11: we went after Jerry, got home about 11:20, Ray was home.  Ivard made fire in fireplace & we watched show.

I got up & Put roast on and read paper.

Ivard- Jerry & Dean went to Priesthood & Sunday school.

I pealed potatoes & had a shower & got ready & Jackie, Dale & I went to Sunday school.

I took Ray up to work at D.q. at 11: till 5:

Came home from church & made gravy & got dinner ready & we ate & Ivard went to work at 2:45.  Dean & Dale did dishes. I was just starting to write Gene when in he walked.  He'd come down with some Kids Friday nite & gone up to Nyssa.  I wrote him a check for $25. & the way he went again, back to school.  I was mad at him.  I got books up and wrote a note in Bill and Gail's birthday card.

Went up & mailed cards & picked Ray upon way home, Jerry & I.

Jerry & Jackie had nap this afternoon

Jerry - Ray - Dean, Dale & Jackie & I went to church, I paid 45.50 titheing, good Hurren Boys mission report.  Jerry went to fireside after, at Melba with Mrs. Murry.  Came home & got Kids to bed.  Ivard & Jerry came home & went to bed.  I watched T.V. until it went off.

Sunny _ cold  Bills birthday

I got up & took Ray to work at D.q. at 9:30.  Dean made waffles then he did dishes, & Dale, & scrubbed & waxed floor.  I washed 2 batches of cloths & iorned allday.

Jerry took Dale up to buy charles Garner a birthday present & when they got back Ivard took Dale to play basketball, They won.

Jerry wrapped Gails birthday presents, shirt pink bed spread, set pink sheets & cases.

at 1: Dale went to Stake House to practice chorus for conference.  He came home at 3:30 & walked over to Garners to birthday party, they brought him home at 7:

Jerry went to Stake House at 1:30 to help M. Men & Gleaners clean it.

Ivard went & had hair cut then we had lunch.  He went to work at 3:

I took Jerry to work at 6: & brought Ray home & he got ready & went up to Nigh S. to Varity Show.  he brought car home at 9: & went to Boise with Phill, got home by midnite.  Ivard came home at 11: & batched & went to bed.  I watched T.V. until it went off the air then had to waite until 1: A.M & went after Jerry.  Had to go in & wait until 1:30 before he was done.

Cloudy all morning _ sunny this afternoon but a hard cold wind

Ivard went to work at 7: A:M.

Kids went to school before I woke up.

Jerry had to work 11:30 to 12:45 then from 6: to 1: A.M.

I washed 3 batches of cloths & took everything out of the kitchen drawers & cleaned good.  Made a meat loaf & got carrots ready to cook & when Ivard got home at 3: he took Jackie, Jerry & I up to bank.  Then Jerry went & got hair cut & Ivard paid some bills & we got feed & went to Word & got a new battery in car.  I bought a pink bed spread & a shirt for Gails birthday about froze to death.

Came home & Ray went to work at 5:30 Dean had supper ready & we ate & I took Jerry to work.

Ivard & I played Scrabble & watched T.V. Ray called us to come & get him at 10: & just as we got there a bus load of Kids came & we had to wait allmost a hr.  Came home & Ivard went to bed & Ray & I watched T.V. I. went after Jerry at 1: Am.

Thursday, January 17, 1963

Cloudy most of day & little cooler.

I got up & cooked breakfast & got Kids off to school and washed a batch of cloths.

Ivard took a young heifer to sale at 11:30 & never got home until 5: got $98.

I took Jerry to work at 11: to 6: at D.q. & he gave me & Sis a drink.  Came home & got Sis to sleep & read my new GoodHousekeeping mag at 2:15 I left Sis asleep & dashed up to sign for unemployment.  She was still asleep when I got back.  She didn't feel good & didn't go to Primary

Mr. Metcalf came for awhile.

I went to store at 4:30 & got groc. & picked Dale up from Primary.  got supper & Ivard & I went & got Jerry & we ate.  Ray just read until supper then him & Jerry went ward teaching Jerry came home & Ray went to ballgame & practice.  We watched T.V. & at 9: Ivard & Jerry went up & got us all a milk Shake.  Ray came home at 10:30 & finished his book.  After T.V. went off air I wrote this.  went to bed at 12:40

Gail moved to Weiser Oregon.  Id.

Sunny & nice today - warmer

I washed 4 batches of cloths & cleaned up.

Ivard & Jackie fixed a flat tire on pick_up & went to Merridian for load of wood but they were shut down.

I took Jerry up to work at D.q at 11: until 6:.

Mr. Metcalf came & visited for a while, to see about going down to Lyles next week.

At 2:30 we went up & had milk Shake on our way to Nyssa to see Gail.  When we got to his place all his furniture was gone but dishes were there so we drove over by school to see if they might eb after Debbie & they came right after we got there.  He'd quit Sugar Factory thursday before (only had 3 more weeks) & got a job as deliverer for 7 up. Co. & they moved to Weiser.  We helped them finish getting stuff & took Kids with us & went over to their new place, brick house with furnace - 2 baths - 4 bedrooms - nice

We had supper & played penochle & left for home at 11:10, got here at 12:30, 64 miles

Sent Lyle, Stanley & Doug's birthday present

Cloudy & warmer, sun shone for about hr in afternoon

When I woke up at 8:15 Dean & Dale had gone to school.

Ivard went & got his check & I figured out our payments then at 11: we took Jerry up to work at D.q. & went to bank & paid bills, mailed Lyles birthday present, got feed & licence for my car then we went to D.q & had our dinner, came home at 1:15 & I worked on my books & Ivard did chores & laid down awhile.  Ivard went to work at 3:

Kids came home at 4: & wanted to know why Jackie hadn't gone to dancing I'd forgotten about it so we dashed up weren't very late.  got home at 5:15.  Vet came for bull, with cheat jaw.

I went & got a few groc. & picked Jerry up at 6:.  We came home & ate & Dean did dishes.

Jerry went to Stake house to M. Men Gleaners & Ray went there for ball game.

wrote to Kay & Lyle

watched T.V. until it went off the air.

Simplots called & laid me off for tonite

Terry was operated on for tumor on neck.

Ivard go up when Kids went to school & went up town to Rail road & took his annual rules test.

I washed batch of Socks, overalls, whites & coloreds & washed my & Jackies hair & we used my new hair dryer.

Dale is 11 years old today.

Jerry put a ham roast on to cook & made a jello, carrot, pineapple salad for supper.

Metropolitan Ins. guy came & brought Jerrys new $10,000. policy.

Ivard came home at 1: & went & got bread & we had lunch.  He went to work at 3: & I went up town & got punch, 3.50 decorated birthday cake & icecream for Dales birthday Party & some prizes.

At 4: 7 boys came to Dales birthday party (I think his first) they played games & ate & at 6: I took them all home.  We ate supper & at 7:30 I took Dean to mutual & went on up to 9th Ave Crossing Shack & took Ivards supper then we played rummy.  I came home at 10:30. Ray was sick tonite & Jerry stayed home too.  Watched T.V. Ivard got home at 11:

Lyle is 27 years old today.

Cloudy most of day _ few snow flakes, never got side walk wet.

I never woke up until 10: & Ivard, Jerry, Ray & Dean had gone to Priesthood & sunday school.  Ivard came home & took Dale & Jackie to sunday S. too.

I read paper & made a Kettle of soup for dinner and we ate when they got home at 1:50, after Ivard did chores.

Ivard went to work at 3:

Jerry went to work at D.q. at 5:, Ray took him up & brought me back a coke

Ray didn't have to work today.  He took Dean & Dale to church.  Ray gave a talk.  me & Sis don't feel good so we stayed home & watched T.V & I worked on cross word puzzle.

Ray brought kids home & some Kids came & picked him & Roger up & took them to Fireside.

I watched T.V. until it went off the air.  Ivard, Jerry & Ray came home & went to bed.

Saturday, January 12, 1963

It was 8° when we came home from work.  We have next 2 nites off.  Sunny & cold.

I read paper & went to bed, Ivard was still in bed.

Ray went to ball practice when I got home over at Stake House then came home & I took him up to work at D.q. at 9:30.

Ivard took Dale to ball practice then after Dale went to Stake House with Mrs Carroll to practice in chorus for conference Jerry went over to Korths  awhile

Jerry went to work at D.q. at 6: & Ray came home.

Dale went to Garners awhile & Alices this afternoon.

Ivard went to work at 3: to 11:

I had ear ache when I got up at 4: so I doctored & just sat around & Jerry, Dean & I played a game of Scrabble

watched T.V. until it went off air.

Ray went to dance at Stake house he came home at midnite, Ivard was already home.  Ivard beat us to bed & had to get up again & go get Jerry at 12:30.

Friday, January 11, 1963

Sun but hard cold wind., got down to 5° below in nite.  It was 6° when I went to work last nite & 38° the nite before, it really dropped.  When I came out to come home the car wouldn't start so I had to walk back in to office & Nora called the garage (at work) & they came out & started it.  It was 0° when I came home & the water was frozen up in tub, shower & washer & I was about solid.

Ivard was to work, 7: AM To 3: when he came home we went to go up town to get fuses, stove wouldn't work, & car wouldn't start so Ray pushed us.  Ivard went back at 5: to get battery charged.

Ray & Jerry went to work at D.q. at 5:30 to close, Ray got home at 10:30

Dean made waffles for supper.

The water in the tub & shower thawed out while Ivard was up town, he put the heater under the house on pipes (electric The shower drain is froze now.  He got it thawed tonite.

I went to bed until 10:40 then got ready for work.  Arlene called so I had her take her car to work Ray went up & got me a drink while I waited, to see if car would start.  It was 1° when we went to work.

Thursday, January 10, 1963

Sunny, hard, bitter cold wind.

It was 20° when I came home from work, I stoped & got few groc. & filled car with gas with my 1 day's xmas check.  I got home at 8:40, I read paper & went to bed but didn't sleep much my nose was too cold.

I got up at 2: & Ivard & Jackie drove me up to sign up for unemployment.  then we went up town & bought a pr orchid sheets, white shirt & pr. pillow cases for Lyles birthday, 2 pr short knit pants for Douglas's birthday (Dec. 22) & a shirt for Stanleys birthday (Sept.) then we got some color books, crayons, & 2 card games for Terry while hes in bed after his operation.  stayed at Dairy q. & had a drink.  came home & went to bed again at 4:30 but still couldn't go to sleep but I stayed in bed until 6: & got up & ate.  Dean fixed supper.

Ivard took Jackie to Primary & went & got a sack of coal for fireplace.

Jerry worked at D.q. 11: to 6:, Ivard took him & went & got him.

Ivards day off

No one went any where tonite.

I went to bed at 7: until time to go to work.

Wednesday, January 9, 1963

got letter from Lyle

foggy & cold when I came home from work, 28°, when I woke up at noon the sun was shineing.

I read paper & went to bed at 9:30 & woke up at 12:30, helped Jackie scrambel eggs while Ivard was up getting bread then I went back to bed at 1:.  I woke up at 2:30 bawling, dreamed Dale took off in car with Jackie & Debbie I got up at 3: & washed 3 batches of cloths

Ivards day off.

Jerry worked at D.q. 11: to 6: Ivard took him up.

Ray came home from school & went up town& bought him some new sunday shoes & pants & waited & brought Jerry home.

I cooked supper & we ate t at 6:30 Ivard & Jackie took Dale up to West Junior High to their first little legue basket ball game They won.  Dale played good.

I went to bed at 7: until time to go to work.

Jerry & Ray stayed home tonite.

Lyle said they thought Terry had mumps at xmas time & after a week when they didn't go down they took him to Dr. & found the tumor

Tuesday, January 8, 1963

Cloudy all day.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:  I woke up at 1:15 & laid there until 2:15 & couldn't sleep so I went to got up.

Jackie & Ivard took Jerry up to D.q to work at 11: to 6:

Ivard went to work 3: to 11:

I got books up & at 3:15 I took Jackie to dancing.  It was 5:30 time we got out so we went up to D.q. to waite for Jerry & he brought us a drink, then Ray called, he had to work at D.q. 6: to close, so I left Jackie there & went & got Ray.  I bought hambergers & gems & gal. milk & came home & that was our supper.

I went to bed at 7: till time to go to work at 11:15.

Jerry went over to Stake House to M-men-Gleaners.  He was home & Ivard, before I went to work.

Cleared off & was real cold tonite 28° when I went.

Monday, January 7, 1963

Cloudy & cold breeze all day.

Kids woke me up to get their lunch ready for school, first thing I'd heard.

I got up at 8:15 & read paper & got my books up.  Ivard got up & got his own breakfast every one else had eaten.  He made a fire in fireplace & I crocheted and watched T.V.

Jerry doesn't feel good he slept in big chair most of day wrapped in a blanket

Simplots called at 2: & wanted me to come back to work tonite, here I thought I wouldn't get to work again this year.  Jerry fixed supper.  Ray came home from school & went up town & got some gas in car for me so he could take car to mutual.

Ivard went to work 3: to 11:

I had a bath & went to bed at 6: until time to go to work but I never did get to sleep.

Dean did dishes after they ate & him & Ray went to mutual.

I got up at 10:50 & left for work at 11:10.  I had to drive alone.

Sunday, January 6, 1963

Gene went back to Rexburg to school.

Cloudy & cold all day.

I never got up until about 10: I read paper in bed.

Jerry took Ray up to D.q. to work at 10: then came & got Dad Ivard & they went to Priesthood.  Dean went early to collect fast offerings.  Gene just got home from taking Jackie & Dale to sunday school when here came Jerry bringing Ivard home, he couldn't stay to church, had to come & watch foot ball game until time to go to work for 3: I couldn't go because I had to get dinner Gene didn't go because he was supposed to go to Rexburg at 1:.  It was 3:30 before Phillips finally got here after him.  Kids got home at 2:40 it was fast meeting today, no church tonite.

Gene ate with Ivard at 2: We ate & while we were Gene went up to D.q. to see Ray.

I took Jerry to work at D.q at 5: till 12: & brought Ray home.  I made Chilli for dinner.

We watched T.V. all evening.  Dale & Jackie went to bed at 8: & Dean went at 9: Ivard got home at 11: & ate & we watched show until it went off the air.  Ray went to bed about 10:15.

beautiful blue sky & sunny & warm.

I got up & made Cocoa while Dean made waffles then we ate & I washed 5 batches of cloths, changed my bed.  I iorned all day in between washing & hanging cloths out & did some patching

Ray went to work at 9:30 Gene took him up.  They called & had Jerry come to work 1: to 3:  Gene took him up.  then Jerry came home & fixed supper & we ate at 4:30 & Dean & Dale did the dishes.

Jerry went to work 6: till close.  I took him up and brought Ray home.

Ivard went to work for 3: I was mad at him, he hit me across the shoulders with willow, big bully, acts more like a Kid every day.  Never was a man.

Ray went to Boise with Phill Murry to game & dance after, never got home until 12:45 - I watched T.V. until it went off the air

Jerry never got off work until 1: AM. I went & got him.  Gene just stayed home & watched T.V. with us, Dean made a batch of fudge.

Friday, January 4, 1963

Sunny - warm - little breeze - blue sky.

Ivard left for work at 7: A.M. on relief job

Kids went to school.

I never got up until 9:30, I don't feel very good.  I washed 4 batches of cloths & got them dried outside.

About 11: Gene - Jackie & I went to Caldwell & had Int. drawn upon all our accounts & put some money in mine - Ray - Kay - Dean Dale & Jackies.  came home & had lunch & moved everything & cleaned good.

Jerry went to work at 1: till 4: then came home until 6: & worked from 6: till 1:15 AM.  Ray worked from 3:30 to 10:15.

I baked a ham roast & made a good jello salad with cranberries, strawberrie, cranberries bannas & pineapple & sour cream  We ate & Dean & Dale did dishes.

Ivard got home at 3:15 & made a fire in fire place.

Mr. Metcalf came for couple of hr. said Terry had a tumer on neck & they thought it was cancer. will operate on 15th.

I took Rays titheing up & Dean & Dale went to titheing settlement, they were all 3 full tithe payers.  we were gone a hr.

I crocheted & watched T.V.

Had letter from mother.

Cloudy - warm - rained a little during nite.

Ivard got home from Nyssa at 7:30, got bumped off brakeman board - went back on relief job & missed today.

Jerry left for Boise at 8:, had an appointment at 9: A.M to take aptitude tests for job at Metropolitan Life Ins.  He came home at noon & fixed lunch.

I don't feel good, I never got up until after kids had gone to school.  Gene got up at 11:  Ivard went to bed until 1:

I didn't do anything but crochet.

at 2: Ivard & Gene took me up to sign up for unemployment then we went & Pd. Wards & up to R.R. then to Jewlery store & they put Genes new watch band on for him.  got groc, & came home & Jerry fixed supper, cooked steak & made salad & Ivard cooked potatoes & I made gravy for them.

Ivard took Jackie to Primary & Gene went & got them.  We ate & Jerry went away & Ivard & I Gene & Ray played one game of Scrabble & Dean, Dale & Jackie did dishes then they all watched T.V. & I went to bed.

got letter from Claudia & xmas box from mother

Ray got home from Salt Lake.

Cloudy but not cold.

Kids went back to school today from holidays.  Ray woke me up at 6:30 to let him in, came from Salt Lake on train & took taxi home.  Ivard got home from work at Nyssa at 7:30 A.M.

I never got up until 10: I felt so bad.

I took Jerry up to work at D. q. at 11: to 6:

got xmas pkg, from mother, home made candy & cookies & 5 lbs Swiss cheese & little Turtle perse for Jackie with her name on.

Gene came home at 1:30, he'd run out of gas 3 or 4 miles from here & walked home.  I got Ivard up & we went out to Hy 30 store at city limits & filled car up & got some & took up & put in pick-up then Gene went back & got it full & Ivard & I went up town & I got me a Diary & I laid away 3 bed spreads, 9 pr cases & 14 sheets for $53.08. on Penny white Sale.

Came home & Ivard took down xmas tree & did chores, I worked on books & cooked supper.  We ate when Dean & Dale came from cub Scouts & Ivard left for Nyssa to work at 6:45.  drove our car.  Jerry ate when he got home at 6:10 from Dairy q., Gene went after him.

We all went to bed early - lights were out by 9:.

Sent letters to Mother - Kay - Lyle and Claudia

Sunny, warm & nice

Ivard woke me up at 7:30 A.M to let him in, came home from working in Nyssa.

Jerry took down the xmas cards & I filed the names of all who sent me one.

Ivard went to bed until 10: then got up & watched bowl football games all day.

I don't feel good and Jerry, Jackie, and Ivard have colds.

I spent all day writeing letters & getting Dean & Dales accounts books up & ready for New Year. I wrote to Mother, Lyle, and Claudia and finished the letters I started for Kay last nite. Ivard mailed them when he went to work at 5:45. I started on a diet today.

Dale went over to Garners all afternoon.

Dairy q. called & wanted Jerry to come & work at 2:30 so I took him up, then he worked 6: to close for Ray, who didn't get back from Salt Lake this morning.

Dean fixed supper and we ate at 5:15 Ivard left for work at 5:45, went up to yard office & rode to Nyssa with other guys. They go to work at 7: Had a fire in fireplace & watched T.V. Kids went to bed at 8; I went up to get Jerry at 11:15 & waited until 11:45 he gave me a drink. I finished watching "Curley Top"
