went to Boise & got Mother

Jackies birthday Party

beautiful - nice day

Jackie was 6 today. We went to Bank & Pd bills

I came home from work & Ivard had Kettle of beans on for chilli. We cleaned up & washed some cloths & at 10: Ivard, Jackie & I went to Boise & got a army cot mattress at Army surplus store for Jackie a mat for dance & got her a record case & dance record & some gifts for each girl for party. Went up to Aunt Venes & got Mother & came home & she made chilli & Ivard & I went & got cake sheet cake all decorated for haloween big enough to cut 48 pieces, got orange J. & icecream & came home & Ivard went to work. Had 8 girls at Party. Sis was really surprised.

At 4: to 6: We had a surprise Party for Jackie. Ray took a lot of colored Pictures & we ate & opened presents & he took Kids home. Gail came & brought Debbie then we had supper & him & Lynda took Kids Trick or treeting. I went to bed at 8: till time to go to work

Lyle had his 5th boy today

Mother stayed all nite in Boise

I came home from work & read Paper & was going to bed. Ivard & Jackie left to take Mother to Boise to stay all nite with her Sister. Ivard had to come back in for Keys so I went with them

We visited awhile then went & had hamberger & came home & Ivard went to work at 3: & we went to dance.

When Dean got home he got supper & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ray & Dean had the house all decorated for halloween when I got up, for Jackies Party.

Jerry worked at Dairy queen. Ivard got home before I went to work.

I took Jackie to dance lesson at 3:20 & it was 5:30 time I got home to bed.

Monday, October 29, 1962

I came home from work & read paper & ate & visited awhile. washed some cloths & mother hung them out.

I got up at 2: & Ivard left for work at 2:50.

I visited with Mother & fixed supper - cooked cauliflower with chees sauce & baked candied squash. Mother & Ivard had a roast cooked & I made brown gravy & we ate at 6:

Dean & Ray went to Mutual

Jerry & Dale sold Xmas cards.

I went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work.

Sunday, October 28, 1962

Sunny - warm day.

I came home from work & ate & read paper.

At 9: Jerry - Mother - Ray, Dean & Dale went to Stake conference. Ivard took our car & went about 9:30.

Jackie played in by my bed & I went to bed at 9:45 & got up at 11:30 & had dinner all on the table when they got home at 12:20. Jerry didn't come home for lunch. They all went back to Conference & took Jackie & I went to bed at 1:10 to 4:10 when they got home.

Jerry came home a min then had to go make arrangement for a 5 Stake Fireside tonite.

We visited awhile & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Saturday, October 27, 1962

Ray went & had tooth pulled at noon & went back to work

Nice, sunny day.

I came home from work and read paper & washed a couple of batches of cloths then went to bed at 10: & Jerry took Dean Dale & him for a hair cut & droped Mother & Jackie off at Beauty Parlor & Sis had her hair cut & Ma had Shampoo Set. Dean fixed lunch.

Ivards day off & he got called breaking at 7:30 A.M. then they were only gone 6 hrs & he had to float at 4:, no men.

I got up at 2: & washed a couple more batches of cloths & went to store & got groc. & we fixed supper & ate & Jerry went to work at D.Q. 6: to 1:A-M.

Ray worked 9:30 to 6: & I went & got him. Ma & Kids watched T.V. & I went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work. I had to drive.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:30. Ivard woke me up at noon & Ma was here, came from Bills.

Ivard had to take me up road where car ran out of gas & push me to Service Station then we went to Hales & bought a 42.50 chest of drawers for Lynda for Stork Shower & came home & Mother, Jackie & I went over to Owyhee Ward to Lynda's shower came home at 5:30 & drew $25. out of my secret Savings account & got groc. & got supper & at 7:30 Mother, Jackie, & I went to bed.

I went to work at 11:15

Ivard worked 3: to 11:

Ray went to Pocotello to game, got home at 5: AM. Jerry worked at D.Q. 3:30 to 10:

sunny - nice day (real foggy all nite

I came home from work & got ready & we went to Caldwell & Put my dimes in bank (4.30) then drew out $78. & went & Pd Co-op oil off (old bill) they put a garnishment on Ivards check. Came home at 10:30 & went to bed, got up at 3:30 & Ivard was to work.

Jerry went hunting Job all day came home at 3: & he took Jackie to Primary.

Dean got 6 1's on report card & got on Honor Roll. Dale got 5 1's.

Dean fixed supper & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Jerry & Dale went Selling cards.

Wednesday, October 24, 1962

got letter from Gene & Lyle

Gail was over

Sunny nice day - foggy all nite

I came home from work & went right to bed at 9:, I was so tired. I got up at 2:30 & Ivard went to work, then he called & said the Co-op oil had put a garnishment on his wages so I spent all afternoon on phone trying to streighten it out.

Gail - Lynda & Kids came about 5: & Dean fixed supper & we ate then I rode up town with them to get groc. they bought root beer & we took home & drank & they went home at 8:30.

Jerry went job hunting all day & to Stake house tonite & so did Ray.

I went to bed at 8:30 until time to go to work.

Dale went to Cub Scouts & Ray took Sis up & left her at 2nd Ward Primary Got mixed up on our days.

Tuesday, October 23, 1962

I came home from work & read papers & ate & got ready & went to Relief Society. I came home & we went up town & got money for cows (this mo. payment 25.) & went to bank & got groc. & had a drink at D.q. came home & fixed some lunch & made Ivard lunch & went to bed at 1: & got up at 3: & Ivard went to work fixed supper and went back to bed at 6: & at 7:30 I still hadn't gone to sleep so I got up & got ready & went up to Dales school to P.T.A., came home at 9:15 & went to bed until time to go to work but couldn't sleep. Took Jackie dancing lesson

Jerry got laid off at Paint Store not enough business.

Ray worked 3:30 to 10: I took his shirt up & he bought me a drink

Monday, October 22, 1962

Another warm breezy nice day.

I came home from work & washed a batch of cloths & Ivard hung them out & did dishes, read paper.

I went to bed at 9:30 & got up at 2:30.

Ivard had to be to work at 3:

I made baked beans & fried potatoes for supper & worked on my books.

Ray came home & went up town & got his pictures & some invitations for Jackies Party. Dale did his work & went to Gragersons & Garners to play.

I cooked supper & we ate when Jerry got home.

Ray went to Mutual, Dean didn't have to go tonite.

I read paper in bed. I don't feel good. I never got up until 10:

Ray had to work from 10: to 5: & Jerry took him up then Jerry Ivard & Dean went to Priesthood & sunday school. I took Dale & Jackie to S.S. at 11:45 & came home & put pork chops in oven with potatoes under & washed my hair.

When they came from church we ate & Jerry went away awhile & brought us back a drink from D.Q.

Ivard went to work at 4:

Dean made cookies & they finished packing a box for Gene & Dean & Jerry took it over to Bishop to take in morning, took bag of cookies for Bishop too.

Jerry had to talk in 1st ward with H.C.

Dean went to 2nd Ward with Ray to Jerry Rhodes farewell then to our ward. Ray went over to Owyhee Ward.

Saturday, October 20, 1962

Dean made cookies to sent Gene

Sunny nice day - cloudy this even.

I got up at 8: & cooked waffles for breakfast.

Ray went to work at Dairy Queen from 9:30 to 6:

Jerry worked until noon then him & Dale went selling Xmas cards.

Dean scrubbed & waxed floors & cleaned spice cup board. I washed 5 batches of cloths & washed windows, woodwork & drapes in utility room. changed beds & Jerry helped Dean make them.

I iorned all afternoon, 57 pieces, I was so tired & sick.

Ivard went breaking on Wilder local 3:30 to 10:

I went & got Ray & he went to Stake House to Youth Conference at 7:, it started at 3: Jerry went this afternoon. They had movie actor Roberta Shore & Ray danced 2 times with her. My nite off, watched T.V.

Friday, October 19, 1962

breezy, warm, sunny day.

I came home & gathered up cloths & rugs & washed 6 batches. My dryer is broke & I got them all dried outside.

Ivard painted outside & worked around most of day.

We went up town & paid P.F.C. & had a drink at D.Q.

Ivard went brakeing on Wilder local 3:30 till 2:30, his day off.

Jerrys car is in garage so I went & got him at 6: & he went right to work at D.Q. till 10: Ray worked 3:30 to 6:30 & went to Boise to game

I came home & went to bed at 6:30. I was half dead. My nite off. Dean woke me at 10: & I went & got Jerry & went back to bed.

Thursday, October 18, 1962

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed & stayed all day.

Ivard's day off. He took Jackie to Primary & brought her & Dale home after.

I got up & cooked supper & we ate.

Ray went to Stake house to practice for youth conference at 5: then went to basket ball practice at nite.

Jerry & Dale went selling cards.

I went back to bed until time to go to work. I don't feel very good.

I came home & read paper & went to bed at 9:45. phone woke me up & I went back to bed & got up at 1:45. Gail & Kids were here, Lynda was up to Dr. they left when she called. Gail had to go to work. I made a big pot of chilli for supper. & Ivard mowed lawn.

He got bumped & floated at 4:

I went up town when Dean came & took Ray to get hair cut & I got 2 new sheets for my bed. Came home & got books up. washed a batch of cloths.

Dale went to cub Scouts then delivered Xmas cards

We ate when Kids came & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home so cold & tired from work that I went to bed instead of going to relief society. I went to bed at 9:30 & got up at 2:30 & got ready & took Jackie to her dancing lesson at 3:30. after we went to Safeways & got groc. then to ALbertsons. stoped at D.Q. & had drink & came home & got Rays shirt & took him & ordered frieds & picked them up after I went & got milk. Dean had hambergers fried & Jerry made a veg. salad & we ate.

Ivard went to work at 3:

Ray worked 3:30 to 10:30

Jerry went to M-Men Gleaners & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work froze to death so I turned blanket on high & got warm then I got up & we went & got Ivards check & went to bank & paid bills. got a few groc. & stoped at D.Q. & had a drink. Came home & I went to bed at 2: & Ivard went to work at 3:

We had supper & Kids did dishes & Jackie & I went to bed & Ray & Dean went to Mutual.

Ray stayed home from school sick in bed all day.

Jerry went away.

Ivard was home before I left for work.

rained during nite & on & off today.

Came home from work & ate & read paper.

Jerry went to Nyssa ect. to take Posters for M-Men - was gone when I got home

Dean & Ray went to Priesthood & S.S., Ray came home & took Dale & Jackie. Ivard sat & watched ball games as usual.

Ray bought us a hamberger & drink for lunch & woke me up to eat at 2:

Ivard went to work at 3:50 & Ray went out & played foot ball.

I cleaned off my dresser, got books up, washed 3 batches of cloths & the comb & brushes made out orders for Xmas stuff & payments & sent for 13 Pennies for Collection. wrote to Gene.

Jackie, Dale & I went to bed & Ray & Dean went to church & Ray went to Fireside.

Saturday, October 13, 1962

Dean got back from Camp

rained a little during nite and all day long.

I came home from work & read paper & ate & went to bed at 9:30, I felt so sock.

I got up at 1: & washed a batch of cloths, didn't feel like doing anything else.

I took Ray to work for 9:30 & he got home at 6:30.

Ivard watched T.V. all day & went to work at 3:50.

Jerry took me to store at 5: & bought me a Malt.

Dean got home at 11:30 today he didn't do much all afternoon he fixed supper & we ate & Jackie & I went to bed at 7:

Ray went to show & Jerry went away.

Dean sat reading & never woke me up for work, Ray came & got me up at 11:05.

rained most of nite & was cloudy all day.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:30.

Ivards day off he tended Dale & Jackie & put a new window in front room Jackie broke last nite.

I woke up at 2:30 & got up & washed a batch of cloths & iorned 22 pieces.

Ivard went to the store & brought us back a drink from D.Q. He cooked supper, spagetti cabbage & corn.

We ate supper when Jerry got home, Ray came right after we started, He worked at D.Q. from 11: to 6:15.

Ivard & Ray went to Meridian to foot ball game. Jerry went to 2 different wedding receptions. Jackie & I went to bed at 7: I went to work at 11:

Dean left for Church Camp till Sat.

cloudy & rained on & off & during nite.

Kids don't go to school today & tomorrow, Teachers Institute

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed with Ivard.

Ray went with Kotter & Croft all morning out to Madisons then they went to Givvins.

I woke up at 1: & got up & at 2:30 Dean left with Scouts & Bishop for Idaho City & Church Camp until Sat.

I washed a batch of clothes & did up a bunch of patching.

Ivard got cut of brakemans board & is back on 4: Job with today & tomorrow off.

He took Kids to Primary & never came home until he brought them home. I went to bed at 5: & they fixed their own supper. Jerry & Dale went selling cards.

I came home from work & went to bed at 9:30. I woke up at 2: & got up. Ivard left at 3: to go brakeing to Boise. I changed Ray & Dales bed & washed 5 batches of cloths & iorned 25 pieces.

Gail, Lynda & Kids came about 5: so I stoped iorning & made a big Kettle of bean soup & we ate when Jerry came, He brought icecream. Ray didn't work & he went & bought treats for Dales Cub Scouts & brought some cookies home for supper. We ate & Jerry & Ray went ward teaching. I fixed the Blacker Contest (3) & Gail took them over when he went home at 8: they brought me a brush & comb for birthday. Jackie & I went to bed. I went to work at 11:

rained most of nite & about all day. I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 10:30. I woke up at 1:45 & got up & Ivard had got called brakeing for 2:30 to Weiser.

I washed 5 batches of cloths.

Before I went to bed I put on a pot of ham & beans & made a Jello suffle salad for supper had to send Ivard to store.

I wrote a letter to Lyle & Gene & had Jerry mail them when he went to M Men & Gleaners. Ray worked 3:30 to 10:

I went to bed at 2: & took Sis & we got up & went to dancing at 4:30 & it was about over, I forgot it was for 3:30. Went to D.Q. & had drink & visited Duaine

I came home from work & went to bed until World Series was over then Ivard got me up & we went & Paid our place & went to bank & paid our bills then we went to dairy q. & had a drink

It was cloudy all day & rained on & off tonite.

We got groc. & I cooked supper & we ate when Jerry came from work then at 7: me & Jackie went to bed. Kids did dishes & went to Mutual.

Ivard watched T.V. & got me up at 10:30 to go to work. He didn't work today, his first day back from vacation & he marked up on Brakeman extra board. Kids were all in bed when I went to work.

Jerry got home from Utah early this morning.

cloudy - windy & rainy

Sure good to be home again.

I changed my bed & washed 5 batches of cloths & cleaned my bed room good & changed the bed around & got my electric blanket on & the one on Jerrys bed.

There wasn't any Church this morning on account of Conference, we saw it on T.V. & ball game.

We had supper & I had a shower & Jackie & I went to bed at 7: I was tired.

Kids went to church.

I got up at 10:30 & got ready & went back to work.

Kay sent me a llama rug, small, & slippers & a woven perse & knitting bag & Jackie a Perse for our birthday.

Saturday, October 6, 1962

left Bountiful & went to Rexburg to home.

Jerry went to Salt Lake / Got letter from Lyle

got up & left Ruth & Rays in Bountiful at 5:45, for Rexburg. It was real cloudy & some snow on tops of mountains had rained some. Ivard drove to Pocatello & we stoped at "Fred & Kellys" & had breakfast. I drove from there to Rexburg. got there at 11:15 & visited up in Genes room with him till he left for foot ball game at 12:15. Kurt came up & visited awhile. They tied College of Southern Utah 7 to 7. Gene intercepted a pass & ran 35 yds for touch down. after game we droped Gene & Marv off where they eat & we went & ate then we sat & visited in car, for about an hr. & We left for home about 7:

We rode most of way home & never spoke. Ivard never talks to me. Got home at midnite & Jerry had gone to Utah to Conference in afternoon. Ray was to dance in Boise.

Friday, October 5, 1962

rained hard

got letter from Kay

We got up & had breakfast & I helped Lorraine do dishes then we went up to Grand Central, came back & I crocheted while we watched World Series. Ivard & Marv went over to Irv's store first & got us all in a pot & I won $3. after the game we went over to Irvins & visited awhile & I got some things in store for Gene then we left Jackie to play with girls awhile & went up & saw Don Beezer's new $30,000 home hes building & went to Grand Central & got some things on sale. got Gene a corn Popper. We & got Jackie & went up to Ruth & Rays & had supper & Ivard & Ray went to Bouniful-Davis came. Too Stormy, Ruth & I Stayed home & visited. rained hard all afternoon, snow on mountain tops, & again in night. When guys came home we had icecream & visited awhile & went to bed.

Thursday, October 4, 1962

sent Kids a card

Got up & had breakfast & Donna was in rush, big Beaver Convention. We left for Salt Lake at 10: after we drove up to State training school & showed Jackie their fairy Tale land.

We visited with Fat & Sara until time for ball game to Start then we went over to Marv's & watched T.V. & had a snack then after Marv & Lorraine took us to mail Kids card & went & saw Lee Ann's new house.

We had supper & watched T.V. & visited. Went to bed about 10:30.

Got stormy tonite & its been so nice.

Wednesday, October 3, 1962

went to American Fork

Mother got up & left for Salt Lake to conference at 7: A.M. I washed my & Jackies hair & I had a bath & gathered up our things & told Berniece goodbye, & at 10: we left for American Fork to see Donna she wasn't there when we got there so we drove down & looked at Utah Lake & took a Picture, first time I'd ever seen it. Came back & Donna was home & she fixed us lunch & we visited then Dean came & we watched ball game on T.V. Had a big Steak supper & Donna & Kids had to go to Mutual so we watched T.V. with Dean. When Donna got home we visited awhile & went to bed.

Sunny, warm, nice day

Got up at 8:30 & made beds while Mother got breakfast then Ivard & I took her up to Beauty Parlor & I did dishes. Ivard was out with Ken.

I wrote note to Ray & fastened the ends on my crochet work.

We had dinner with Ken & Berniece then Ivard took Mother & I up to Toolle shoping all afternoon.

We had supper, I went & got us a milk shake to eat with it, then we went over to Berniece's awhile Ivard tended baby while they went to Mrs. Palmers birthday then I went back over & visited with Mother while she got ready to go to conference tomorrow

We went to bed at 10:30.

Monday, October 1, 1962

Went to Grantsville to see Mother

sent Dean & Dale each a card

Sunny & nice

I got up and Ruth & Ray had gone to work & Kids were just leaving for school. Ivard & Jackie got up & had breakfast with them. We left for Grantsville at 8:45. gave mother a new Westinghouse duel control electric blanket (Pink) for her birthday, gave it now so she could use it.

Mother fixed dinner & Berniece & Marlin ate with us. Ivard did dishes

We went over & saw Bernieces new living room & sat & visited.

We had supper & Mother went to a meeting, shes new Social Science leader in Stake Relief Society. Berniece tended Kids. Ken was to work and we took Kent & Curtis to Toolle & they took us to show, "Bon Voyage," real good. We got home at 11: & everyone was in bed. We went to bed.
