got letter from Louie
school started

I came home from work & Ivard & Jackie took Dean & Dale to school. Gene & Ray went on bus. Ivards day off.

Ivard went out to plow but got tractor stuck. I changed all the beds & got 5 batches washed & my bed made.

We went to town & got Ivards check & paid bills & got a bank draft to send Jerry. got groc. & came home & hung some in & went to bed at 3: got up at 5: & tended some more clothes & went to town & got Dean's school stuff & got Kids from foot ball practice.

Ivard went after Dean & Dale at noon just went half a day today.

Ray got supper & made beds & Dean cleaned house up. got T.V. fixed

Sunday, August 30, 1959

I came home from work & went to bed. Gene, Ray & Dean went to Priesthood & sunday school & Ivard tended Dale & Jackie.

I got up at 12:30 and cooked dinner & Ivard checked water & Ray made cookies.

Ivard left for work at 2:30

I went to bed & at 6:30 Kay Claudia & Ronald came, Kay had Gails car, & I got up & talked to them until 7:30 when they took Gene & Ray & went to church, Kids came home with Barlows.

They devided wards tonight & we are in new 5th ward.

I had a bath & went to bed & Dean, Dale & Jackie went to bed

I came home from work & Ivard was home in bed, he got home at 7: Gene did chores. I washed a batch of clothes & read paper & at 9:30 I went to bed & Ivard got up & ate & watched ball game. Ray got me up at 10:15 & we went in to Dr. Ross & he had his physical for foot ball. got groc. & school paper & came home & Ray fixed dinner. We ate & Gene left for foot ball practice & Ivard left for work at 2:15. I went to bed & Jackie. Ray did dishes & cleaned house. I got up at 5:30 & worked on book & Gene came home & picked corn & they got it ready & I fixed 78 cobs & 6 pkgs cut off & put in freezer. I got through at 10:10 & laid down half hr. then got ready & went to work. Ivard got home before I left.

Ray milked & Gene went to Wallys at 6: AM

I came home from work & Ivard was in bed, got home at 7:30. I read paper & went to bed at 9: & Ivard got up & went over to Wallys & worked for Gene while he went in to foot ball practice then he wasn't supposed to be there until afternoon so he came back & Ivard came back & went to bed & I didn't even wake up. He got up at 12:30 & went back over & Gene came home & ate & went to practice. He got home at 6: & I got up. best sleep I've had since I went back to work. Ray fixed supper & we ate & Ray milked Gene got home about 7: Ivard went to bed & I picked over a kettle of beans to eat tomorrow & cooked them, the rest of them were wrecked from putting water on them last nite. went to bed at 9: & we got up at 10:30 & Ivard left for work & I went at 11:

I came home from work & Ivard was in bed, just got home.

Gene went to Wallys at 6: A.M & Ray milked. I went to bed & Ivard got up at 9: & went over to Wallys & worked for Gene while he went to foot ball practice. Gene came home at noon & ate then went over & worked & Ivard came home & ate & went back & worked & Gene went to practice again at 2: Ivard went to Caldwell to bank

Ivard brought home 2 bu. of lima beans at noon & they were the dirtiest things. Ray & I picked them over all afternoon, Ray went in to get his foot ball suit with Gene & Dean helped me. I got 21 qts in freezer. Gene came home at 6: & Ivard took him back with Wallys Pick-up. then went to bed. I laid down awhile & we went to work.

Wednesday, August 26, 1959

I came home from work & went right to bed. I was mad at Ivard. Him & Jackie took 2 heifer calves to sale in morning. & Gene drove car in to foot ball practice at 10:, he got home at noon Ray got dinner & we ate at 2: & I went in & signed for unemployment. came home & worked on books.

Ivard & Gene took our boar pig in to be killed & went & got calf check.

Gene did chores & Ivard & Jackie went & bathed & we went to bed. Gene & Ray went to Mutual with Barlow.

We got up at 10:30 & I left for work at 11: & Ivard at 11:30. I hardly spoke to him today.

Tuesday, August 25, 1959

sent Jerrys letter, Pictures & $7. from Kay. I went back to work at Simplots

Simplots got me out of bed this morning to tell me to come to work tonight. Gene did chores & we ate & Ivard went out & finished getting hay ground ready to plant & at 10: Dean & I took Gene in to foot ball practice & we went to Caldwell to bank then to Savings bank & put dimes in then we went to I.D & had some things on sale put away for Xmas. Dean tried to sell cards but didn't sell any, got groc & got Gene at 12:30 & came home & I laid down awhile. Ivard had gone to town. at 4: I took Gene in to Dr for foot ball physical & left him & went up to stockman & there sat Ivard playing cards. He said he come in min I went back at 5: after I got Gene & he said he'd come. I came home & he wasn't home when I went to work. Ivard got home at 1: AM. sat in Stockman 13 hrs.

Monday, August 24, 1959

Lyle left for home

Cloudy but nice. We changed all the beds & cleaned all the house & I washed 5 batches, made 10 qts tomatoe sauce & cooked dinner & we ate at 3:

Gene drove in to practice at 10: Ivard got one piece of grain ground plowed, disk & harrowed to plant hay.

I helped Ray made beds upstairs

At 5: Dean & I went selling cards, he sold 5 boxes & I got a letter written to Jerry. got home at 8: & made my bed & Jackies & Ivad & Jackie had a bath & Dean & Dale. They watched T.V. & I got books up.

Ivards nite off.

Sunday, August 23, 1959

Gene did chores & he drove him & Ray to Priesthood & sunday school. Ivard was mad & stayed in bed. I cleaned up made potatoe salad & meat loaf baked beans & bottled 4 qts tomatoe juice. at 11: Gail, Lynda & Kids & Kay & Jackie came & Lyle & Barbra & Kids got here right after. Barbra brought cake & stuff & made sandwiches. I made punch & we ate on lawn & they played ball. Gail left at 2:30 so Lynda could go to work at 4: & Ivard went to work. Lyle left at 5: so they could pack to leave in morning we told them goodbye. Gene did chores & him & Ray went to church with Barlow. I got Kids to bed & played Salatair & watched T.V. Kids got home just before Ivard did.

Saturday, August 22, 1959

I cooked breakfast after Gene did chores, made waffles & bacon & eggs. Ivard cut Kids hair & Ray did work & Gene & I went to Caldwell at 10:30 & got milk check & sent $40. to Jerry & a note, got school paper & we had root beer & got a gal. & came to Nampa & got groc. & Gene went to get a foot ball suit. We had to waite from 12:30 to 2: then we came home at 2:30 just as Ivard was leaving for work, got bumped & floated on 3: job.

Lyle & Kids came awhile. Ray rode his bike to Mikes then called & said he was staying to go to show. I washed 2 batches, clothes, & cooked a batch of tomatoes for Juice & potatoes for salad tomorrow. Played Salataire & got books up. Watched T.V.

Ray got home same time as Ivard Madisons brought him at 10:

Friday, August 21, 1959

Cold today. Gene did chores & we ate and Gene, Ivard & Jackie went to Marshing & got a bore pig and I spent until noon hemming my 2 new dresses mother brought & sewing on buttons. Ray fixed dinner & at 3:30 Ivard & I took Gene in to high school to register then I took Ivard up to work & came back & waited until 4:40 for Gene & we came home.

Gail, Kay, Debbie & Jeff came at 5: & stayed until 6:30 then took Jackie home with them until sunday. Lynda was to work. Kay gave me 7. for Jerry. Gene did chores & we watched T.V. & Kids went to bed at 10: I waited until show was over & never went after Ivard until 12:10. A.M.

Thursday, August 20, 1959

got letter from Jerry - had wreck. wants 40. for car repaire.

I got up at 5:30 & got breakfast & Mother & Berniece & them ate & at 7: they left for Spokane.

Ivard did chores & we ate when Kids got up at 8:30. Ray washed bottles & I bottled chilli sauce & cooked the rest of tomatoes for Juice. It really rained today.

Gene got home at 3: & Ivard Gene & I & Jackie went to Nampa & got hay seed & Gene went to regester but had to have a paper from school board so we came out to Ferdinand & got it. Gene drove pick-up home from Gails. & brought Stanley & Terry. We got supper & Lyle & Clifford came & ate & took Kids home. I went to bed early & Simplots called & Ivard told them I was in Utah. Ivards nite off.

Wednesday, August 19, 1959

Ivard came home at 6: & went to bed.

It was cold today. had to shut doors & even had furnace on a little. Mother worked on my new dresses (2) she made, & Jackies. Kids went out & weeded 2 rows of beets apiece. Berniece & Ray made a cake & I washed some clothes & Berniece & I fixed sandwiches for every body & then we went to town & I signed up & we got groc. came home & I made another cake & mother fixed a corn & squash cassarole & I fixed spagetti & Berniece made jello salad & her & mother helped fix a double batch of chilli sauce & we got it on to cook.

Lyle, Barbra & Kids came & we ate & Gail came just as we finished & they ate. Gene went home with Gail. Ivards nite off. Lyle went home & we got to bed. rained.

Tuesday, August 18, 1959

Gene did chores & Ivard came home at 6: & went to bed. We ate & I washed 4 batches of clothes & was going to do tomatoes but draine was stoped so I got Ivard up at noon & he fixed it and Gene & I went to town &got groc. cleaning, movie film from being develoed & paid cooler off. Came home & was just doing tomatoes at 5: when Ken, Berniece, Kids & MOther drove in. Ray was cleaning

Gene went over to Wallys a couple of hrs. & worked then did chores. Mother & Berniece helped me do tomatoes & I cooked supper & we ate & I did dishes. got 21 qts tomatoes, cold pack. We visited & got to bed. Mother brought me 2 new dresses she made & Jackie a jumber, jacket to match, my dress & blouse. Ivard went to work at 11:

Monday, August 17, 1959

Ivard came home & went to bed & Gene did chores.

I changed all the beds & washed 5 batches of clothes & made my bed & Jackies. at 11:30 Ivard & all the Kids went over to Metcalfs to pick tomoatoes. They got home at 7: & brought corn, 5 lugs tomatoes, peppers, egg plant.

I cooked supper while they did chores and Ray made up stairs beds then we ate and Ray went ward teaching with Barlow.

We got to bed & Ivard left for work at 10:30. There was an earth quake at 11: but I didn't feel it. It really hit west yellowstone Park.

Sunday, August 16, 1959

We got up at 7:30 & went up to Bus depot & had breakfast & saw Kids leave for home. We left for home & Gail & Glen helped drive then the rest of us played penochle. We stoped at Burns and had drink & got gas & stoped at a wayside stand & had pop farther on. stoped in Vale & had hamberger & fries & saw Mrs Blanch & Jeff. rest of them were in swimming with Lynda. let Wards & Gail off at their place & came home. got here at 3:30 & Lyle, Barbra & Kids were here. We visited & watched T.V. Lyle went home & we went to bed early.

Ivard went to work at 10:45.

Saturday, August 15, 1959

got up & fixed breakfast & washed 2 batches of clothes packed a bag & at 10: Ivard & I left Kids home alone & went to Nampa & got 2 new tires & went to Adrian & picked up Glen & June Ward & Gail & headed for Bend for all star foot ball game. stoped at Burns & ate dinner We got to Bend at 5:30 & got home room at 9: a nite, had extra bed for Gail. We went & ate then went to all star foot ball game. Kay played all but about 4 min. They got beat, Central won. went back to hotel & walked down town then got car & went out of town & had a root beer. We went to bed at 1:30 A.M.

Friday, August 14, 1959

got letter from Jerry

I cooked breakfast & Gene did chores & Ivard checked water & we ate then at 10: Ivard & I went to Nampa & got Ivards check & paid bills then I went & had my hair cut & shampoo got groc. & waited 1 1/2 hr for Ivard, he got car greesed. went to Caldwell to bank & had fries & root beer. stoped at Albertsons & got some more groc. got home at 3: & Gene had straw raked & he got dinner. We ate & I worked on books & Ivard & Kids played rummy. Ray had work done & rugs washed.

Ray did dishes & Ivard watched all star foot ball game & Gene did chores at 7: I played Salataire.

Went to bed early

Ivards nite off.

Thursday, August 13, 1959

got letter from Mother

Ivard got home at 6:30 & came to bed.

We didn't eat until 10:30 & I washed clothes and patched.

Ivard and Kids went out and pulled weeds out of beets then Ivard mowed straw while Gene did chores.

I cooked dinner & we ate at 4:

Ivard & I Gene, Dean, Dale & Jackie went over to Nyssa to Gails but they weren't home so we rode over to Ontario to see Kay at all star practice but missed him. Came back to Nyssa & had milk shake & sat up to Gails until 10: then came home they never did come home.

Ray stayed home alone, didn't feel good.

Wednesday, August 12, 1959

Ivard came home from work at 6: A:M & came to bed. Gene did chores & I got up & iorned 15 pieces then I took Dean & Dale in to Primary at 9:30 and I went shopping at sales. got Kids school overalls, socks, shorts & a bunch of colored T shirts for Jackie & Lyles Kids. We came home at 12:30 after getting groc., and Lyle Clifford, Stanley & Terry were here. I washed clothes & Ivard & Kids played Gene's gambeling game At 2:15 Jackie, Dean & I went to town & I signed for unemployment. Lyle left at 3: he's working over to Harleys evenings. We ate supper & Gene did chores & Ivard & I & little Kids took Gene & Ray to Mutual & they came home with Barlow. We came home & went to bed. Ivard went to work 11:

Tuesday, August 11, 1959

Ivard came home at 7: & went to bed.

I washed clothes all day

Ivard got up at noon & they went over to Bellmont & got some bread & I cooked dinner. They watched ball game.

got clothes in & put away & went to bed early

I don't feel very good.

I iorned all afternoon, in between washing, did 50 pieces.

Jackie & I had a bath & we went to bed early.

Ivard had to go to work at 10:45.

Monday, August 10, 1959

wrote Mother letter & mailed

Ivard came home & went to bed. Gene did chores. We changed all the beds & I washed 5 batches. Ray carried all the boxes of books out of Deans room down the basement & took everything out & scrubbed & washed woodwork & cleaned rest of upstairs & made beds. Ivard put up rods & we put drapes up in Dans room & Ivard & I made bed.

Cooked supper & made my bed & got clothes in

Gene did chores & we went to bed early.

Ivard went to work at 10:45.

Sunday, August 9, 1959

Ivard came home at 6:30 & went to bed. Gene did chores & I took him - Ray - Dean & Dale in to sunday school & priesthood.

I cleaned up & read paper at 12:15 I went to town & got them & cooked dinner & we ate about 3:

Had nap & played Salataire

Gene did chores & Ivard & all the Kids went to Church & I watched T.V. I didn't have anything to wear & I didn't feel good. They came home & we went to bed & Ivard left for work at 10:45.

Saturday, August 8, 1959

Ivard got up and milked & I got breakfast & we ate & they moved the swing & played ball awhile. Lyle and Barbra went over to Metcalfs for few days & Ivard & I Ray & Jackie went to Nampa & Ivard & Ray got their new glasses from Dr. Daines. got groc., mower parts, & cleaning & went over to Madisons & got Rays stuff from trip. Came home & got books up & Ivard watched ball game.

I washed clothes & played Salatair

Gail - Lynda & Kids came about 4: & I cooked supper & we ate out on lawn. Gail went home about dark. Gail helped haul rest of hay.

We went to bed early

Ivard went to work at 11: back on his old job.

Friday, August 7, 1959

Lyle milked tonight

Ivard milked & I cooked breakfast.

Louie & Elmer woke us up & told us goodbye about 7:, didn't eat.

We cleaned up & washed 3 batches clothes & Ivard, Lyle & Dean hauled a couple loads of hay & changed water.

I cooked dinner & we ate at 3: after Lyle cut Ivard hair & Deans & we played a game of penochle.

Ivard left for work at 3:15, floated on 3:30. I laid down & got Jackie to sleep.

We were going to Caldwell Parade & to see Sleeping Beauty but none of rest of little Kids had a nap so we stayed home. Ivard went in Lyles car so we'd have a big one. We ate icecream & watched T.V. & got Kids to bed. Ivard hadn't got home at 1: A.M. so I went to see where he was & passed him over by Thompson Reality. don't know where he was, Stockman I guess. Gene & Ray got home from Calif at 1:30 AM.

Thursday, August 6, 1959

Ivard did chores & checked water & I cooked breakfast & Louie & Dean did dishes & we got ready & headed for Payette Lakes at 11: A.M. We went over & showed Louie & Elmer our old place & went to Metcalfs & saw Lyle a few min., they got here at 2: A.M. We went to Parma - then stoped at Gails in Nyssa but no one was home. We went to Ontario & had root beer then to Payette & Weiser & on up to McCall. Parked by lake at Shore Lodge & watched water Skiers & took some movie pictures & Kids went wadeing then we went home the other way, through Emmett, stoped in Caldwell & got gas & at Nampa & got groc. & got home at 8: & I cooked supper while Ivard milked & we ate outside, in yard lite. Lyle Barbra & Kids came in time to eat. We all went to bed early. Ivard day off

got letter from Mother

Ivard did chores when he got home & I got breakfast & cleaned up the house and Dean did dishes. I washed some clothes and cooked dinner and at 2: Ivard & I went to town & I signed for unemployment & he went to bank & got the papers to get Idaho Licence & I took him to work them I went & got our new Idaho licence Plates for car. Came home & messed around until time to milk. Dean & I had to milk. We were about through when Dale called me to phone, it was Louie, calling from Nampa, to see how to get out here. We finished chores & when they came we visited & had a snack & at 11: Louie & I went to Nampa & got Ivard from work. talked awhile & went to bed.

Gene & Ray left for San Francisco

Got up at 3:30 A.M & Kids loaded up & got ready & at 4: we went in to church & it was 5:15 befor they left for Cal. on 100% Priesthood trip. I went up to Rail Road & waited until Ivard got off at 6:30. Came home & went to bed until 10: then I washed a couple of batches of clothes and finished writeing to Jerry & mailed his letter & money. got books up and hung clothes out. Ivard got up at noon & baled hay. I got Jackie to sleep. Ivard finished hay & I cooked supper & we ate & Ivard did chores & we went to bed early. Ivard went to work at 10:30.

got letter from Jerry

Made hot cakes & bacon & eggs & ate early. Ivard got home at 6:30 & went to Bed. Gene did chores & got the new fly wheel on baler. We changed all the beds & washed 3 batches & cleaned house good then at 10:30 Ivard & I, Gene Ray & Dale went to Nampa & left Dean & Jackie home playing on new swing set they delivered & set up this morning. We droped Ivard & Ray off at Dr. Daines & they had eyes tested, they'll get their glasses Sat. Gene & I went & got our Idaho drivers licence, I passed 98 & Gene 96. We were going to get Idaho licence on car but guy wasn't in back to get title. got Ivard & Ray & went to Caldwell to Bank & got Dale some sunday & everyday shoes & Gene got some shoes then we came back to Nampa & got groc. & Gene & Ray 2 pr. levies, denims & Dale sunday pants & Gene got pajamas & socks. came home & I cooked supper & Gene did chores & Ivard & I played one game of Penochle & he went to bed. Kids bathed & packed & I got their lunches packed & Ivard & at 10:30 I took Ivard to work & got some gas. got home & went to bed at 11:30.

Sunday, August 2, 1959

Ivard & Gene, Ray, Dean, & Dale went to Priesthood, sunday school & sacrament meeting.

I washed a batch of clothes & got my books up & stayed in bed until they got home.

cooked dinner & we ate about 3: Ivard got bumped again & is on 11: p.m job with Thursday & Friday off.

Everyone had a nap.

Kids did chores & we watched T.V.

Went to bed early & Ivard left for work at 10:30.

I wrote to Jerry this afternoon.

A little cooler today.

Saturday, August 1, 1959

Kids got up too late to go to work we ate & I washed 3 batches clothes & rugs & finished washing woodwork walls & ceilings in back porch & cleaned windows & pressed curtains & got them up. Ray cleaned house & got dinner.

Gene & Ivard spent all morning taking baler apart, fly wheel was busted, we got a new one when we went to Nampa at 5: for $35.

Wally finished combineing mixed grain he's all done for us grinder guy came & ground our bin full.

Gene took Wallys truck home.

I had a bath & Ivard & I went to Boise after we got baler part. We went to Western & had 2 fizz's then had supper & went & saw "South Pacific" sure good. saw Kay & Claudia there. went to "21" club & "Black Cat" got home at 1:15 A.M. Spent 10.80.
