Gail came

Jackie was 3 years old today. I came home from work & Ivard was cutting Kay's hair & Gene's.

I went right to bed & got up at 12: & Gene & I went to Boise to Kays foot ball game. Ivard took Kay over at 10: & had dinner with the team. They got beat 40 to 7. Kay played quite a bit & got his ankle hurt again. We visited with him, coach & Kays Bishop until bus was ready to leave. Gene came home with Ivard. Got home at dark & Gail, Lynda & Kids were here. We ate, chilli, punch, icecream & haloween birthday cake. Gave Jackie her presents before Kay left this morning. 2 pr. p.j. house slippers, crayons, scizzors 3 paint books, clored penciles, tablet. 55 cents.

I went to bed until time to go to work & Ivard - Gail & Lynda took Kids trick or treeting then Gail went home. Ivards nite off.

Friday, October 30, 1959

wrote Jerry & sent his money.
Jerry called on phone
Kay came home

I came home & ate & we went & got Ivards check & paid bills & I wrote Jerry a letter & we sent his money. got groc. & Jackies birthday presents. came home at noon & I went to bed with Jackie.

Ivard woke me up when he went to work at 3:30 & I went & got little Kids.

Kay called at 5: & wanted me to come to Nampa after him, the team came down from Rexburg on bus & Kay came over from Boise on Bus. We got him some toilet articles & Jackies birthday cake & icecream & waited for Gene to get back from his Boise game. The won. It was 7:30 time we got home. Ray had house cleaned & supper ready. We ate & visited awhile & I went to bed & Kay studied. Jerry called at 10: sure sounded good. I laid down again & Edna woke me up at 11:45. we were 20 min. late. Gene was asleep in chair.

got letter from Barbra, Lyle has typhoid

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed & Ivard tended Jackie & washed a batch of clothes & hung out. Jackie & Ivard came to bed at noon.

Ivard went to work at 3:30 & I got clothes in and got supper on to cook & went in after Gene & Ray. passed little boys on their way home from Primary. We hunted all over for Ray, he was passing out hand bills for scouts. We called home twice. I finally got made & came home & here he sat. We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Got letter from Barbra & Lyle was in hospital 9 days with temp. of 104 degrees & they couldn't find out what was wrong. went home a week & now he's back in for 20 days with typhoid fever.

Wednesday, October 28, 1959

I came home from work & got ready while Ivard took the little boys to school then we took Jackie to Nampa to Roosevelt school & she had her smalpox shot & her first D.P.T. shot. came home at 10: & Ivard tended Jackie & I went to bed. Ivard & Jackie came to bed at 2: & Ivard got up 3: & went & got Dean & Dale from school before he went to work.

I got up at 4: and made some tea & had shrimp sandwiches then I did some patching.

I went after Gene & Ray at 6: & met them half way home, walking

Cloudy & cold wind all day, rained tonite Ray fixed supper & Gene milked & Gene & Ray went to Mutual. Me & little kids went to bed.

Tuesday, October 27, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard took little boys to school & I went right to bed.

I got up at 12: & had a bath & got ready & picked a boquet of flowers & went in & took them to Venice & visited with her 1/2 hr., still sick, then I went to relief society.

Ivard tended Jackie & washed 2 batches of clothes, after relief society I met Ivard & Jackie at Dairy queen & we had icecream cone & Ivard went to work & we came home. When Ray came I went back to town & had Kays name put on his brief case & got Jackie 2 pr. pajamas & some crayons ect. for her birthday. got bread & went & met Gene & came home. picked a boquet to take Paul & Mary & got books up. Ray got supper.

I went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work. Nice, windy day.

Monday, October 26, 1959

sent Jerry & Mother a letter

I came home from work & Kids had beds all striped & clothes gathered up & I sorted them while Ivard took little boys to school.

I washed my bedding & Ivard helped me make the bed. washed about 6 batches. At 11:30 we went to Caldwell & I got Kay a brief case for his birthday with 3 3/4 books S & H green stamps. Gene gave me the money to buy a pr. house slippers for Jackies birthday, red cow boy boots. Came back to Nampa & got groc. & had icecream cone & came home & Ivard fixed us a sandwich while I did some more clothes. I went to bed at 3: & Ivard did too for awhile, He hung some more clothes out & went to work. I got up at 4:30 & got clothes in & hung a batch of Sheets out then went over to Lowders & got Dale & went to town & got Gene & Ray. Ray got supper & made beds & cleaned bedrooms. I went to bed at 7: but didn't get to sleep until after 8: went to work at 11: Windy - sunny day.

Sunday, October 25, 1959

I came home from work & ate & went to bed. after I put a roast on. Kids all went to priesthood & sunday school. Ivard tended Jackie & put potatoes on. I got up at 3: & made salad, cooked cauliflower & made gravy & we ate at 4: I washed a batch of socks & wrote mother a 12 page letter & wrote to Jerry.

Ray did dishes & made mother goose pop corn.

Ivard & Kids went to church & I doctored & Jackie & I went to bed.

sent Kay a letter

I came home from work & went right to bed. & never got up until 3:

Ray cleaned up house & did a little washing. Small Kid came at noon & they went hunting then Ray took off with him & never got home until after dark, 6:30.

Gene went over to work for Wally at 11: & got home at 7:

Nice day.

I got up & hung out clothes Ray washed & washed Rugs & Rays foot ball suit, made out payments & wrote to Kay. I made spagetti & we ate late.

I went to bed with hot water bottle on my head, ear, & neck. sure hurt.

Went to work at 11: & mailed letters.

Friday, October 23, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard tended Jackie & I went right to bed. I got up at 12: & had a hot bath and at 1: I went in to the Stake House to leadership meeting for relief society, after I got out at 3:30 I went over to Junior High & met Ivard & Jackie & watched Rays team get beat by Caldwell. There last game. Gene played at Caldwell & won. He made 1 T.D & 2 points after. We got groc. & picked him up after we got Ray some new shoes & came home & I went to bed & Ray got supper. Gene did chores & got me up at 8: to take him in to foot ball game. I came home & went to bed until time to go to work. Gene came home with a Kid. Ivard was hr late for work, he made arrangments to.

Thursday, October 22, 1959

I came home from work & got ready & we went to Boise & got $100. out of Kays bank account to send him.

Rainy & cleared up.

We came back by Caldwell & paid on my laways, had a milk shake & came home at 2: & Jackie & I went to bed & Ivard went to work.

I got up at 4: & washed clothes and at 5:30 I went to Nampa and got Ray & Gene from ball practice. When we got home Dean & Dale were home from Primary.

Wednesday, October 21, 1959

Got letter from Berniece

I came home from work & took Kids to school & went right to bed.

Ivard & Jackie washed a batch of cloths, finished hauling hay, & took cow to sale.

Ivard came to bed awhile before he went to work.

I got up at 3:30 & went after Dean & Dale, after Ivard left for work, got cloths in & put away & finished the iorning, 29 pieces. Dean did last 5. I went & got Gene & Ray & went & got cow check & got groc. Ray got supper while I iorned & he went to mutual. got done at 8:30 & went to bed until time to go to work. cloudy & rained a little this evening.

Mother has been pretty sick. Ray went to 2nd Ward mutual.

Tuesday, October 20, 1959

I came home & took Kids to school & Ivard was gone over to Wally's to do beets.

Ray had beds changed & clothes gathered up & I washed 4 batches hung 2 out & Jackie & I went to bed at 11:00, got up at 12:30 & Ivard was home. I did another batch & I Ivard & Jackie haueld hay & I went to relief Society & gave my Literature lesson. came home at 3:30 & got clothes in & did another batch & went after Dean & Dale. Met Ivard, going to work, just turning onto 12th. got Jackie out & we came home.

Beautiful day.

Got books up & iorned 7 pieces then went to town & got Kids Came home & went to bed & Ray fed Kids & cleaned bedrooms & made beds. Gene did chores & unloaded hay.

Monday, October 19, 1959

I came home from work & took Kids to school.

Ivard took Jackie & went over to Wallys to help do beets & I went to bed. Ivard brought Jackie home to bed at noon & went back to work & went to work at 3:30 from there. I went back to bed with Jackie & we didn't wake up until 3:30. I washed a batch of clothes & hung out & iorned 10 pieces then went to town & paid bills & got Gene & Ray & came home & iorned 10 more pieces & worked on relief society lesson while Ray got supper.

Went to bed at 8: until time to go to work.

Ray defrosted icebox & cleaned up.

Sunday, October 18, 1959

Sunny, blue sky, nice day. I had to wash my bedding, Jackie wet. Picked two beautiful boquets of mums, one rose & pink & the other bronze & yellow.

We ate & Gene, Ray, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & sunday school.

I washed the turkey & got in oven after Ivard fixed a wire that had burned off on big oven. It's the turkey Ivard won last Xmas at Adrian. Made dressing & Ivard peeled potatoes.

I worked on my literature lessen for relief society Tuesday & got books up. Kids didn't get home until 3:30 they'd been to hospital to see a friend. They brought 2 Kids home We ate & Gene & Ray & 2 Kids went rabbit hunting. They all went to church & I had a bath & went to bed until time to go to work. Ivards day off.

Saturday, October 17, 1959

I got up & got Gene & Ray up & they went & worked for Wally all day. I dampened clothes and washed 4 batches after I went & got Ivard from work at 7:30, me & Jackie. I went to bed awhile with Ivard.

Ivard got up at 11:30 and he & I Dale & Jackie took a cow to sale at Caldwell. I had to take car over to Wallys beet field & trade the Kids for pick up. Ivard finished baleing hay. Came home at 12:30 & Gene & Ray had come home for dinner, fixed it & Ray made a pineapple upside down cake for supper. They went back to work & I iorned until 5:30 then we went to Caldwell & got cow check & got groc. & came home & ate the stew I made before we left. We watched T.V. awhile & went to bed. I washed my hair.

Friday, October 16, 1959

Kay called. he got a bad sprain maybe broken, at game at Carbon, Utah

I came home from work & took the Kids to school and read paper & Ivard said he'd tend Jackie while I went to bed. I was only going to lay down for awhile because we are off tonite but I never woke up until 3:30, best sleep I've had since I went back to work.

Ivard went to work at 4: Jackie & I got ready & took him then we went to Safeways & Albertsons & got groc. & picked Ray up after he came from Boise, They beat Boise.

came home & ate when Gene got home from working for Wally & Gene did chores & Gene, Ray & I went to Adrian & watched them get beat by Homedale.

I was supposed to meet Ivard at 8:15 for supper. came back to pick Ivard up at 11:30 & he had to double.

My nite off. Ivard made a ladder & put new window in Kids room. Guy came out & timed the baler.

Thursday, October 15, 1959

Got letter from Jerry.

I came home from work & took little Kids to school & got ready & we went to town & got Ivards check & paid bills & went to Caldwell & signed for government beet payment came back to Nampa & got groc. & had a sundee & came home & Jackie & I went to bed. got up at 4: & Ivard had gone to work.

Gene went over to work for Wally but he didn't need him tonight, he brought Dean & Dale home. I made out payments & went to town after Ray from foot ball practice & mailed them. I went to bed until time to go to work & Ray fed Kids.

Wednesday, October 14, 1959

I came home from work & took Kids to school & ate & read paper & washed a batch of clothes & got the one from last nite in & put away. Made some iced tea.

Beautiful day.

Ivard baled hay until he broke needle. He went to town & got a new belt & put on & got it out of time. Grinder guy came.

Jackie & I went to bed at 11: & got up at 1:

Ivard left for work at 3: to see about baler needles.

I worked on books all afternoon.

Gene came home at 4: & went over to Wallys but he didn't need him so he came home & hauled 3 loads hay. Ray didn't come home until after Mutual.

I made potatoe soup & we ate & I went to bed at 6:30

Tuesday, October 13, 1959

I came home & Ivard took Kids to school & I went to bed. Ivard washed overalls & hung them out. I got up at 10:30 & washed 3 batces of clothes & at 1:30 Jackie & I went to relief society work day. started home at 3:30 but Kept having car stop on me. Picked Ray up from bus at high school, couldn't find Gene, he came home with some Kid.

Ivard was to work. he bought a new case baler today, only used one season. He got part of hay baled got a new big gas barrell on stand & 250 gal. gas

Ray moved things & cleaned house good & fed Kids & I went to bed until time to go to work at 11:

Monday, October 12, 1959

I came home from work & took Kids to school & gathered up the clothes & sorted them & washed 2 batches & went to bed & Ivard & Jackie went to town & got part for baler. Ivard washed a batch & hung out I slept about 1 1/2 hrs & got up & washed 2 more batches & hung out & Ivard helped me make our bed & he went to work. at 4: I went & got Dean & Dale & we went & watched Gene's team beat Mountain Home 47 to 6. went & got Ray & a few groc. & came home & I went to bed at 7: until time to go to work & Ray fed Kids & made beds.

I came home from work & went to bed until noon Ivard & Gene went over & helped Wally until 11:30.

Ray went to Priesthood & sunday school with Max then stayed in to a Kids & came home after church with Max. No one else went to church today, listened to Conference.

I made apple pies & dressing & cooked pork chops & squash cassarole then I made Dean a bag for school & patched Genes foot ball suit.

Gene spent all afternoon mounting his bug collection for biology.

I went to bed at 6: until time to go to work.

Saturday, October 10, 1959

Kay called on phone said he won his letter in foot ball.

I came home from work & washed Genes foot ball suit & went to bed.

I got up this afternoon & Ivard & I went to town & got window glass for Deans room & some paint to do little cup board for Jackies birthday got radiator flushed out & anti-freeze in car & some groc. & came home & cooked supper & fixed 4 whole heads of cauliflower & put in freezer.

Ray got home before we went to town, from his scout trip, & did up the work.

We ate & I went to bed & Ivard Gene & Ray went in to General Priesthood Conference meeting then Gene went to lucky clover dance after & got home at 12:30.

got letter from Kay

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed.

Kids didn't have to go to school again today.

Stormy. Gene worked on his biology & Dean helped him.

Oil guy came early so they had a fire.

I got up & cooked dinner & fixed 8 qts cauliflower & put in freezer.

Gene went to foot ball practice & ate when he got home. We ate & Ivard went to work at 3: & took baler needle to weld.

Dean did dishes & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & ate. Kids didn't have to go to school today or tomorrow, teachers Institute at Boise.

Gene was going to work for Wally but it rained most of day. Kids tended Jackie & I went to bed.

I got up & got ready & took Gene in to foot ball practice & I went to Caldwell to Union meeting at 2: & got sworn In. came back to Nampa & got groc. & got Gene & came home, too late for Kids to go to Primary & Ivard was already gone to work. I fixed supper & went to bed until time to go to work

I came home from work & took little Kids to school & read & ate.

It was stormy so Ivard tended Jackie and I went to bed awhile.

I got up at 3: & Ivard went to work and I got ready & went & got Dean & Dale & we went in to the high school & watched Gene play ball. Borah beat them 18 to 7.

Max Barlow came & got Rays stuff & he didn't come home from school but went on a scout trip up to church camp until Sat.

I fixed supper & went to bed until time to go to work & Gene did chores & helped Dean do dishes & Dean helped him with biology. I went to work at 11:

I came home from work & took Kids to school, passed Ivard just comeing home. He had to waite for welders to open to get baler parts. We ate & read paper & Jackie went to bed with us. got up at 1: & got ready & Jackie & I went to relief society, first time in new ward & first time for new year. I bore my testimony. Ivard bed on an afternoon Job & had to go today at 4: We passed him on our way home. got Dean & Dale & came home & got clothes in from yesterday, picked 2 boquets of Mums & got books up.

at 6: I went to Nampa to get Kids & got supper & at 6:30 Bishop called & wanted me to come in to a meeting so I went at 7: They ask me to be Literature Leader in relief society & I accepted. stayed to leadership & lunch after came home at 9: & laid down until time to go to work. It really rained tonite.

got up & fed Kids & Ivard milked & Kids all went to school. changed beds & washed 4 batches of clothes Ivard started to bale hay but broke both needles on first bale. We took them in & left them to be welded & got bread & had icecream cone. I wrote to Kay. Ivard helped me make 15 pints grape jam before he went out & put grape juice away.

Came home & took care of clothes & Ivard went & got Dean & Dale & Dean started supper while we went in to town & got Gene & Ray & picked up rest of our pork, the hams, bacon & lard. passed Gail comeing out so Jackie & Dale came back home with them. they wouldn't stay to eat, it was 7: time we got home, car stoped on us & had to go to garage.

made me some ice tea this morning. Ivard helped me make beds. We went to bed until time to go to work & at 10:30 I got up.

Sunday, October 4, 1959

Gene did chores & him & Ray went to Priesthood at 9:15. special meeting, Gene is an officer. I made waffles & sausage for breakfast.

I bottled rest of grape juice & got pulp ready for jam tomorrow Gene & Ray got home at 2: & we got dinner. Ray bought some icecream.

I wrote to Lyle while Ray did up dishes & he was so long I didn't get grapes done in time to go to church. Ivard & all the Kids went & I was just finishing up when they got home.

We got to bed early.

Saturday, October 3, 1959

I got up & fixed breakfast & took Ray up to Martines's to work all day.

Ivard came home from work & went to bed awhile then he got up & watched world series. He cut Gene, Dean & Dales hair.

Nice warm breezy day. I washed 4 batches of clothes, cleaned my bed room & front room. Dean helped me a lot. I washed bottles & did 21 qts grape juice with grapes in bottle & put 5 qts cauliflower in freezer.

Cooked supper & we ate & Ray did up Kitchen. We got to bed about 10: I went first Ivard & Gene went ward teaching but didn't find where any one lived.

Friday, October 2, 1959

Sent Jerry letter & his money

I came home from work & took Kids to school. Ivard was home & in bed. I did up work & I laid down for awhile. We don't have to work tonight.

I went to school & got Kids & went in & saw Dales work books and saw how to make Deans book holder. Brought Jackie & Dale home & Dean & I went to town & mailed Jerrys letter I wrote today & his money. Got Ivards jacket & pants from cleaner & paid Hale's furn. & laid away a chest of drawer for Xmas. got Deans material for book holder & some groc. & came home & got supper. We went to bed early. I was so tired & Ivard had to go to work.

got Birthday card & letter from Kay

I came home from work and took Kids to school. Ivard was home & in bed. I washed some clothes & read paper. Ivard got up to hear world series & went after Dean & Dale at 1:30, teachers meeting and they didn't have to go this after noon. I went to bed & at 3: I got up & we took Dean & Dale in to Primary then we went & watched Genes foot ball game.

We had to site quite awhile, Boise didn't show up till nearly 5: & our Kids were tired out. got beat 18 to 14. Ray beat Boise. We went & got 83 lbs squash & a bu. of grapes while we waited for Gene. Dean & Dale came home with Mrs. Barlow after Primary, to ball park. came home & ate & went to bed until time to go to work.
