Sunday, February 28, 1960

cold wind but sunny. I came home & Dad was in bed & I ate & went to bed. Gene & Ray went to Priesthood with Max & little Kids woke us up at 11:15 & Ivard & I got ready & we all went to sunday school. got signed up for Genealogy Work shop to run 12 weeks. got an assignment for next sunday. We came home & I fried me & Ivard halibut & we ate & went to bed. Ray fixed them barbacue.

Ray went to church early with Pendletons to quire practice. Have gave a 20 min talk. Gene did chores & him & Dean went to church with Max. We were too tired. I followed Ivard to work at 11:05.

Saturday, February 27, 1960

got letter from Kay
Had flat tire at work.

I came home & read paper & went right to bed.

Gene did chores & made hot cakes. Cold wind

Ivard got me warm then he got up & him & Gene took 7 weiner pigs to Caldwell sale. got check on way to Nyssa. $23.

Ray cleaned house & washed & got dinner & I got up & ate at 2:30 then we got ready & all went over to Gails until 6: then They went with us over to Owyhee Ward to their reunion. Had a real nice roast beef supper. We came home at 9:30 & I went to bed until time to go to work & Gene did chores. Ivard went to bed until time to go to work. They'd come & got T.V. & left another portable.

Ivards nite off. Gail called
had a blizzard last nite & during nite

I came home & Dad took Kids to school & I read paper & ate & went to bed.

Roads were slippery out this side of Nampa & from Caldwell to Nampa.

I just got to sleep when some one knocked & woke me up. Ivard & Jackie were in tub so I got up & let the guys in with T.V. then I set & watched it It wiggled around & Ivard turned it up & one caster was in short & the leg was split so I called Hales & they said they'd get us another. I bathed & at 1: Ivard took Jackie & I in to stake House to relief society leadership meeting, I was called on twice to read parts of lesson & to close with prayer. Ivard went to Dr. & got pills for ulcers, got groc. & came home & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Got letter from Jerry

Dad was home in bed when I got home so I took Kids to school & ate & read paper. Jackie & I went to bed & when she woke up Dad got up & tended her.

I got up about 3: & we went to town & got groc. it was my pay day. We were out of everything. We went to Hales & bought a new R.C.A T.V. & traded our other in ot it. 100. so now we havn't a record player The picture tube went out on it. They let us bring a portable home until they deliver it. We got Jackie a trike too & they gave me a forest fire lamp. Came home & Kids were home from Primary & Ray had supper ready & Gene was hauling manure. We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work. Ivards nite off.

Read the book of "Mosiah"

cloudy & cold wind.

Came home & Ivard was to work again. I took little Kids to school & made me some tea & read the Book of Mosiah then Jackie & I went to bed at 12:45. got up at 2:30 & fixed her some soup & I laid down until time to go get little Kids.

Gene & Ray came home on the bus & hauled manure & Ivard came home & got supper & I went to bed at 4:30 until time to go to work.

Gene took car & went to Nampa to cottage meting

I went to work at 11: & it wasw snowing.

Ivard got called out at midnite again, time & one half.

I read Books of Jacob - Enos - Jarom - Omni & The Words of Mormon.

I came home & took Kids to school & ate & read paper & at 10: Jackie & I went to bed & when she woke up Ivard got up & tended her.

I got up at 12:45 & had a bath & Jackie & I went to relief society. picked Ray up & school & Gene got off bus where it turns down to Sism & came home with us at 4: Gene went & got little Kids.

I made some tea, seems to help my cold, & read 5 books of the book of Mormon.

Ivard was gone to work when we got home, floated at 3:

Ray got supper. Ivard had my bed washed & We made it & went to bed at 7: until time to go to work.

Monday, February 22, 1960

read 2nd Nephi

sunny but cold wind.

I came home from work & took Kids to school. Ivard was home in bed. I made tea & read paper & sorted cloths & washed 3 batches & read 2nd Nephi. Jackie & I went to bed at 12:30, when she woke up Ivard got up & tended her & went after Kids. I got up at 4:30. Gene came home on bu & they played a couple of games then he hauled 2 loads manure.

Ray stayed after to school to play ball with Pea Wee League & got to Mutual. I finished 2nd Nephi & Ivard & I & Kids went to town to get gas in car & get some bread. Came home & ate soup & Ivard & I went to bed at 7:

I left for work at 11: & Ivard at 11:10.

Sunday, February 21, 1960

Ivard ordained Gene a Priest & Gene adminstered to sacrament in sunday school.
Started to read "Book of Mormon"

Ivard got home at 6:50 & came to bed.

Cloudy & real cold wind - hailed & snowed little.

I got up & ate & fed Kids then Ivard Gene & Ray went to priesthood & Ivard ordained Gene a Priest. I had a bath & at 11:30 me & Kids went to sunday school, paid titheing.

Came home & made some tea for Ivard & I's cold & Ivard went to bed I made salad & Ray got dinner & we ate at 3:30. Ivard got up at 4:30 & ate.

I started to read Book of Mormon & read 1st Nephi.

Gene took Jackie up & she had a nap. Me & all the Kids went to church & Ray stayed to Fire Side. got home & went to bed at 9: Ivard was still awake, too sick to go to sleep. He went to work at 10:30 & I left at 11:30 didn't have to be there until 12:30

My nite off. Sunny but cold wind.  Gene did chores & made hot cakes for breakfast. I got up & got ready & rode in to town with Ivard to Dr., he got a shot then we went to 3 different stores & got some of their bargains & paid Don Born for 1st 2 tires we got for car. came home at noon & Kays room mate had called from Boise & wanted us to bring Kays base ball shoes & mit over so Ivard took Dean in to show house to see "Big Fisherman" with rest of his school class for David Ferdinands birthday, & he went to Boise & watched Dee wrestle & gave him Kays stuff. he got back at 5: Gene took pick-up & went in to school to go to Boise & play ball, got eat. last game of season. He went to Keefleys after to a party for team got home 1: Ivard went to work at 10:15 I wrote Mother & Jerry & Ivard mailed them when he went to work.

Friday, February 19, 1960

Sunny & cold wind. I came home & took Dean to school. Dale went on bike. Ivard was still in bed. I made lemonade & read paper then I doctored & went to bed at 9:30 & Ivard tended Jackie. I got up at noon & ate with them then Jackie & I went to sleep & Ivard got ready & went in & got an order & went to Dr. he has a bad cold.

Gene took pick-up & got home at 3: little Kids got home early too. Ray came on bus. I got up & cooked supper & we ate at 4:45 & Gene did chores. Ivard called from Merridian, was over looking at Disks, & wanted me to meet him at ball game but I don't feel like it so Gene went alone in Pick-up. Ivard has flue - had a shot. wrote Kay & Lyle each 9 page letter. went to bed at 9:30 & Ivard & Gene came at 10: Ivards nite off.

Got letter from Mother & Jerry

Sunny & cold wind. I came home & took Kids to school & ate & read paper & went to bed at 10: Ivard was already home & in bed. Jackie went to bed with us & they got up & ate at noon & at 1: I got up & we went to Nampa & paid our payment on place to Louish Bish $1000. & 6% Int. $900. got some groc. & came home & laid down awhile. Ray came home on bus.

I made shrimp salad & fried weinies & we ate after Ivard went & got Gene at 6: They brought our fresh meat home for freezer. Pig we had killed.

Ivard stayed up & got me up to go to work, his nite off.

Wednesday, February 17, 1960

I came home & Ivard was in bed. Dale had gone on bike to school so I kept Dean home to tend Jackie. I bathed & went to Kotters & rode to Boise to Dr. with her. I only lost 3 lbs but it made 11 for month. He said I was doing good. I got home at noon & went to bed until 6: Ray got supper & I got books up.

Ivard did chores.

Gene took pick-up to school & got home at 6:15 just as Ivard got chores done.

I went back to bed after we ate until time to go to work Ivard went to bed too. He left at 10:45.

Tuesday, February 16, 1960

I came home from work & took Kids to school & ate & read paper & worked on my relief society lesson until noon then Ivard got up & I gave it to him, took an hr. It was on Wm Byrd & Michel Guillaume Jean de Crevecour, I really liked him On "What's an American" Ivard took Jackie & I to relief Society & I gave my lesson, he went looking at machenery & borrowed some money on pick-up, $300. to pay on place. He got us at 3:30 & we went & borrowed 300. from P.F.C to make the rest of our payment. Came home at 4:30 & I went right to bed until 10:30, I was so tired Ray got supper for them & Ivard went & got Gene.

We went to work.

Cold & frosty 24 degrees when I went to work.

Monday, February 15, 1960

I came home from work & took little Kids to school & went to bed with Ivard, he was already home & in bed. Gene didn't feel good so he stayed home & he tended Jackie.

We got up at noon & ate & all went to town & got Ivards check & paid bills & went to bank & took Gene's shoe to shoe maker. We went to Caldwell & put Gene & Jackies money in bank & drew mine out to pay place. They had milk shake, got few groc. & some more at Nampa & came home at 5: & Ray got supper & we ate & went to bed until time to go to work

sunny all day & this afternoon it rained & snowed a little at nite.

I came home & went to bed with Ivard, Gene went in & got him before he did chores.

Gene & Ray went to Priesthood in Pick-up.

We got up at 11:30 & call went to sunday school. I got a cake & icecream Dean brought Mike Perry home & Ray brought Dick Small. Ray got dinner & we went to bed as soon as we got home. got up & ate at 5: & Kids played out in rain

We went to bed at 6: & Kids got Ivard up at 7: & they went to church. I was going too but I never heard a thing then at 7:40 Jackie woke up & didn't let me sleep until they got home. Ray stayed to Fireside

roads were wet comeing home but dried off. snow on ours. I read paper & went to bed & Ray cleaned house & washed some cloths. Gene & Ivard made 3 trips to Caldwell sale & took 3 cows & Gene's weiner pigs. Ray made stew & we ate at 2:00 & Gene took Dean in to church to Dance practice at 3: Gene left for Twin Falls to play. ball, got beat.

I didn't sleep much, Kids kept wakeing me up. Gail, Lynda & Kids came about 4: & we left Kids with Ray & went after Dean at Stake House then Ivard took me to florist shop & bought me a big green & white plant with big leaves for Valentine $6. got groc. & came home & ate & did chores, only have 3 cows left. We played Penochle until time to go to work. Gail took Ivard.

Cloudy & sunny & windy.  I came home from work & Ivard took Kids to school & I ate, read paper & went to bed at 10: I got up at 5: & cooked supper.

Ivard tended Jackie & washed some cloths.

Gene took pick-up to school & got home at 3:30.

We ate at 5:30 & Gene did chores & Ivard & Dean took him in to ball games. got beat

I came home from work & Ivard was home in bed. I took Kids to school, ate & read paper & went to bed at 10: & Ivard got up & tended Jackie and tended cloths.

I washed 2 batches before I went to bed.

Ivard & Jackie bathed this afternoon.

Ray came home on bus & made potatoe soup for Kids. I got up at 3: I sewed stuff on scout suit

Kids came from Primary & they ate after Gene did chores. I had a bath & Ivard & I & Ray went in to church to Scout banquet & Court of honor. Ray became a Star Scout & pined a pine on me. We got home at 9:30 & I went to bed until 10:45 & went to work. Ivards nite off.

Kay called & wanted us to call Bishop to write letter to his Bishop so he could go to Temple to be baptized for dead

sunny nice day. I came home from work & took Kids to school. Ivard was already home in bed. I ate & read paper & washed some cloths. I went to bed at 11: Ivard tended Jackie. I got up & went & got Dale from school, Dean went to a kids house to make valentine box. Dale, Jackie & I went in to school & picked Ray up & we went & bought him a scout suit, Dale some pajamas, me a perse. then we went out to Yorgensons by Kings & got me 2 pr. garments. sent Kay a valentine & $5.

Came home & fixed rest of Valentines & Ivard mailed them when he went to work. Sent Mother & Jerry $5. in there valentine Gene took pig to be killed on way to school. Ray got supper. went to bed until time to go to work.

Tuesday, February 9, 1960

It rained litely most of nite & all afternoon.

I came home work & took Kids to school & read paper, ate & went to bed at 10: Ivard got up & tended Jackie. I got up at 11:15 & went to relief society work day. We had a real good dinner. I painted me an orchid on a hanky, we learned textile paints today. I gave a short review of lesson for next week inviteing women to relief society. I gave closeing prayer. I was home at 3:15. Ivard & Jackie were in bed & I went to bed. Ivard got up & went after Kids & then got an oil change on pick-up while he waited for Gene to get out of practice. Ray stayed. They got home at 8: when Ivard got home & went to bed until time to go to work.

got letter from Jerry & Kay

It rained all nite & this morning & rained hard from 3:30 on tonite. I came home & took little boys to school. Ivard was home in bed. I sorted coths & washed 2 batches & had some lemonade. Jackie & I went to bed at 10: & about 11: Ivard got up & tended her. They went after little Kids at 3:30 then Ivard & I went to town & got pick-up battery charged & got groc. & Ivard a rain suit Came home & Ivard milked & I fixed supper.

Ray stayed to pass hand bills & Gene to practice then they went to Mutual.

We ate & went to bed early till time to go to work.

Ivard confirmed Dale

Ivard got home at 6:30 & went to bed in Gene's bed. Gene & Jackie slept in our bed.

Gene & Ray left for priesthood in pick-up. At 11:30 me & rest of Kids went to sunday school. Dean stayed in to Perry's.

We came home & Ray got dinner & I got books up. We ate & Ivard Jackie & I went to bed.

Gene did chores and we all got ready & went over & got Dean & Perry boy & went to church.

Ivard confirmed Dale a member of church. Dean & I bore our testimony. Gene & Ray stayed to Fireside. We came home & went to bed until 11: then I followed Ivard to town at 11:30 he had to be to work at 12: & me at 12:30 A.M.

Ivard went to work at 10:45 in hard rain.

cloudy most of day - rained hard tonite.

Ray cleaned up house. I washed some cloths & did some patching & worked on my book.

Dean went with Mrs. Barlow at noon & bought his Valentines then they went to church to dance practice for primary class. Ivard & Gene took a load of pigs to sale, wrecked ones leg & had to bring it home, then they took cows over.

I took Dale to town & got his Valentines & I got some paints for textile painting class Tuesday. came home & ate & Ivard & Gene went in to high school to play ball at 5:30. Dale & I went at 7: & got Ivard & we went to Stake House & Ivard baptized Dale. we got Ivard & Dale a banna split & I had lemonade. Came home & Gene was home.

I came home from work & read paper & ate & went to bed & Ivard took little boys to school.

I have next 2 nites off. I got up at noon & had a bath & went to church to stork shower on Lois Beesley & Mrs Lucley. Had a good chicken salad & punch. played games. I took Yorgeson girl home & got the white pants for Dale to get baptized. I got Ivards too. came home & ate & at 5: I took Gene in to high school to go to Boise & play ball then I got a head lite & tail lite on car & got a few groc. came home & Ivard had chores done & we went to Givins swimming. came back through Marshing to Nampa & had a bun less hamberger & Ivard a sundee & we waited for Gene. My & Ivards nite off.

Gail was here

snowed during nite a little roads were slick comeing home. I took Kids to school & ate & read paper & washed some cloths & went to bed at 10: & Ivard got up & tended Jackie.

I slept all day & got up about 5:30 when Gail, Lynda & Kids came. I made a big kettle of oyster soup & we ate when Kids came from Primary. Ray came home on bus & Gene got home early, he took pick-up.

We ate & I went to town & got stuff for Kids lunch tomorrow, cook sick. I went to ward leadership & got home at 10: & went to bed until 11: & went to work.

Jerry called

sunny & warmer. I came home from work & got Ivard up & he took Kids to school & I hurried & got ready & went in to Taylors & we went to Boise to Dr. I lost 8 lbs. I got home at noon & made us an omlet & we had lunch & Ivard, Jackie & I went to bed. Ivard got up at 3:30 & went after Kids. He came back to bed & woke me up. Jerry called about his money, sounded so good.

Ray came home on bus & got supper.

Ivard got up & did chores at 5:45 & went after Gene.

I went to bed after we ate until time to go to work.

cloudy & windy - sun came out this afternoon. I came home & took Kids to school Ivard was already home & in bed. I read yesterdays & todays paper & went to bed.

Ray stayed home & tended Jackie & cleaned house & washed did my bed while I was gone to relief society. I got up at 12:30 & had bath & went to bank & pd. Hales before relief society. I bore my Testimony I got a few groc. & Ivard & Jackie followed me home, they took Ray in to pass hand Bills & go to play in church tournment at Middleton. He had supper ready before he left. I got book up & wrote Kay so I could send him some money. Ivard mailed it when he went to work I went to bed at 5:30. Ivard did chores & went after Gene. We went to work.

sent Kays Income tax

I hit an ice spot (black) passing a car comeing out of Caldwell & went all over road. lucky no car was comeing sure scared me. I took Kids to school & went to bed after I washed 2 batches & Ivard tended Jackie. I got up at noon & we went & got Ivards check & went to Boise & cashed in Kays Ins. I wrote Jerry on way. had hamberger & got home at 4:15. I worked on books & wrote some more to Jerry, sent him receipt instead of check in first letter.

made oyster soup while Ivard milked. Gene & Ray stayed to practice & will go to Mutual wind & rain tonite. We went to bed until time to go to work.
