Friday, March 31, 1961

I got up & we ate. Kids didn't have to go to school, easter vacation.

They moved more stuff in Ivard & I went up town & got his check & some wire to fix milker & chickens & Ivard got them fixed

I went to Superior Western at 3: & had shampoo & set & never got out until 5:45 then I went to bank, Paid bills & got groc.

I came home at 7:30 & Ivard was to work.

Jerry, Gene & I went to Nyssa at 8: & visited Gail & Gene stayed over for week-end. Jerry & I had hamberger, milk shake & fries. got home at 11: & Ivard was home.

got card from Berniece - Mother's a lot better.

nice day.

I came home from work & had some pop corn & went to store & got easter candy & Ivard went out & took milk & brought back a load of stuff.

At 11: Jerry, Jackie & I went to bank & Jerry went looking for a Job & I took Jackie to Superior Western & had her hair cut then got her a pr. of white shoes & gloves for easter. I bought 6 roses to plant. Came home at 1:30 & I went to bed until 3:30 then we took Jackie to Primary, Dean & Dale walked over from school, got feed, & went up to Rodeo Park to double header ball game with Parma, We won both. Came home at 8:30 & ate, Kids had eaten.

Jerry washed cloths.

They had to milk by hand again

I got books up.

I don't go to work for next 4 nites

Wednesday, March 29, 1961

Dean & Dale started school at Roosevelt

sunny & windy.

I came home from work & made pop corn & read paper then I took Dean & Dale to their new school, Roosevelt then Ray & I went up town & got Ray some shoes & pants & Jackie some pants & groc. Came home at noon & Jackie & I went to bed & got up at 3:15 & went & got Mrs Kotter & 4 Kids & we went to Merridian to ball game. We took Jerry, Ray & Jackie We won 8 to 7.

Ray stayed home from school today.

Ivard got cows hauled in.

We ate at 7: & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Jerry went up to Dr. but he's on vacation.

Ivard went out to Hunters to genelogy meeting.

Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Stake House to play Volley ball.

Ivard didn't work today.

Tuesday, March 28, 1961

I came home from work & Ivard was home, he doubled last nite. Him & Gene went out & did chores & Gene went to school. Jerry took Dean & Dale out to Scism for their last day of school.

I made pop corn & ate & read paper & went to bed with Ivard.

Jerry got rest of stuff out of house when he took Kids. I went & got them & we went down to old place & filled car with gas & came home & went up to Rodeo Park to ball game We beat Emmett 11 to 3. Gene looked good as catch.

Ray went & took Piano lesson after school & at 7:30 Jerry & Gene went & got  him & they went to play volly ball. Ivard Dean & Dale went out to milk.

Dean got a Scout knife & Dale a big box of colored penscils for going away present at school.

Got card from Berniece - Mothers in hospital

sent Berniece a letter

I came home from work & made pop corn & ate & read yesterday & todays paper & went to bed.

Ivard & Jerry & Ray & Jackie went out to place & hauled stuff in & cleaned up after I went to store & Jerry put a pot of baked beans on.

Ivard went to work at 4: I went out & got little Kids from school & Jerry & Ray. Ray stayed home from school today.

I went to Albertsons & got some boxes to pack fruit & we ate & Gene went out & did chores & Jerry & Ray went to Mutual. Gene came home & got ready & took Ivard a lunch & the pick up to work & went to Mutual.

I went to work at 11:

Rained about all day - hailed

I came home from work froze & Ivard was home & in bed so I went to bed. Gene went out & did chores & Jerry Gene & Ray went to Priesthood. Gene came home after & took little Kids to sunday school.

Jerry & Ray went to meeting at Stake house.

I got up at 1:30 & made gravey & Kid had corn & potatoes cooked. Jerry put a roast on early this morning

Ivard & Dean went to store & Gene made punch & we ate at 3:, kids came just as were finishing

I got books up.

Ivard, Jackie & I went to bed & Kids went to church.

We moved to Nampa

I came home from work & Ivard & Gene were in to new place fixing for cows & pigs then they took 5 calves to Caldwell sale.

I went to bed for an hr. & Jerry & Ray took stuff in to new house. I got up & washed some more cloths & Jerry brought car home & we loaded it up & went back to town & I got groc.

Ivard, Gene, Jurt & Roger moved most of our furn. today & we got all streightened around & beds made.

I took Jerry to church to sunday school convention & Gene went out & milked & him & Kurt went bowling Ivard & I went out & got another car full of stuff & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivard went to work at 11: slept in our new house.

Helen brought us a pan hot biscuits & jam

Friday, March 24, 1961

Got letter from Kay

cloudy & windy.

I came home from work & washed cloths all day.

Ray stayed home from school and him & Jerry went in to our new house & cleaned all day. Ivard drained oil out of drum & hauled in to our new house & got our new oil stove going then he went to Hales & bought a lineloum rug & put down in Utility room & at 4: he went to work.

Jerry came & we loaded up car & went back in to our new place & I waxed hall, closets front room & Kitchen.

Helen came & saw our place We picked up Gene from school at 6:, They went to Parma to play ball but got rained out. Came home & went to bed until time to go to work at 11:

rained all nite & most of today

I came home from work & Ivard was already home & in bed. I read paper & went to bed.

We got up at noon & took Jerry & Jackie & went in to our new place & Jerry cleaned while Ivard & I went & paid lites, phone & groc. & got a new Sieglar oil heater at Hales when we got back they were putting it up. Jerry & Jackie were half froze we made a fire in fire place. Ivard & I brought Jackie home & left with Ray & Gene & I took a load of fruit in & I got feed & groc. & me & Kids came home. Ivard brought the oil barrells in & made a stand & got them up We ate & Ivard had bath & him & I & Jackie went to bed at 8:

Ray went ward teaching.

Wednesday, March 22, 1961

bought a house in Nampa

sunny & warm.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & just got in bed when Ivard got home from takeing tractor tire in to be fixed. I told him off for yesterday. I got up & we went house hunting all day & over to Caldwell to Simplots to see if I could borrow any money. We finally found a 2 bedroom house on 1 1/2 acres at 412 Montana for 8000. & only $500. down we took it. pretty good place

We came home & I went to bed at 4:30 & Ivard & little Kids took down electric fence. Ray went & got Gene from ball practice.

Jerry got supper & I got up & ate & Ivard & I went to bed at 7:30.

Ivard & I both left for work at the same time.

Tuesday, March 21, 1961

cold last night, frost on windows this morning. Nice today.

I came home from work & Ivard was to work. I made some pop corn & read the paper. I went to bed at 9: & never woke up until 3:30 when phone ringing woke me. Jerry was after little Kids.

Ray got off bus at Pinsters & took his piano lesson & Jerry & little Kids went after him at 4:45.

Gene had their first base ball game today at Payette. Won by 1 point.

I got books up & crochetted.

Ivard called at 4: & said he was just getting through work & would be right home but he never came until late. I went by Stockman on way to work & there he sat.

I went to bed after supper & takeing Jerry in to Stake House to meeting & getting Gene from game.

Gene went in & got Jerry from meeting.

Monday, March 20, 1961

sent Mother a letter

Cold in morning & warm this afternoon

I came home from work & Ivard was already home. Jerry took Kids to school. I ate and Ivard & I went place hunting at 9: & never got home until 4:, we went to Boise & all over. Bought 2 new tires at Wads & had put on car. I read 40 pages of D.C. while I waited Ivard & I went to bed at 4:30 & Ivard got up at 5:30 & took Jerry & Ray to Mutual after they picked Gene up from practice & they went & looked at a place we found for rent. I got up at 6: & ate with little Kids. it was about 8: before I could get to sleep againe I was so tired. Ivard & Gene came home & ate & Gene did chores & went to mutual & Ivard came to bed.

Ivard didn't work today.

I went to work at 11: Kids were all home.

Sunday, March 19, 1961

Gene did chores & him Jerry Ray & Ivard went to priesthood & sunday school. I was so tired I stayed in bed late. I got up & had a bath & me & little Kids went to sunday school.

Jerry stayed & walked over to Stake house to a meeting. Ray went to Smalls.

We had a blow out comeing home & Dean went to a house & called Ivard to come back & fix it, he neat us home.

Dean got dinner while I wrote to mother. At 4: Jerry called, to come & get him and Ivard, Gene, & I went & got him & drove around looking at places. Came home & Gene did hores & we all went to Church. I laid down for an hr. & left for work at 11:

Ivard left for work at 10:30.

Ivard got called at 8:30 for 8: AM. job he got there by 9:

I made 4 loaves white bread & 5 loaves brown. washed cloths & did up all my iorning & crocheted awhile.

Jerry worked on his S.S. lesson & Ray cleaned house.

made chilli for supper & we ate when Ivard got home.

Gene went in to ball practice at 12:45 & got home at 5:

We watched T.V. & Gene did chores.

Gail, Lynda & Kids came at 8: & took Ivard & I - Jerry & Gene over to Terrace to show "The Grass is Greener" & the fights in their new car - got home at 12:

windy but warmer.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed. at 10: I got up at 12:15 & Ivard took me in to "Western" & I had a facial, shampoo & set. It was 3:30 when I got out and we went looking at houses with real estate guy.

Went to Kotters a min. to see if Gene was there but he came home on bus.

We got ready & at 7: Ivard & I went in to church to relief society birthday part & had a real good ham supper & a good programe. We got home at 10: & all the Kids were home & in bed.

My nite off.

Ivard didn't work today either.

got letter from Kay he's in Tacna 1000 miles from Lima

windy & cloudy

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 10: I woke up at 1: & took Jackie to bed with me but she never did go to sleep so we got up at 3: & crocheted.

Jerry - Ray & I played one game of Scrabble.

Kids got home from Primary at 5:30 Jackie didn't go today, she has too bad of cough.

Ivard went at 10: to hunt that sheep guy over at Kuna & we were going hunting places this afternoon but he never did show up. When I went after Gene at 6:30 the pick-up was parked at rail road. I called & they said he went to work at 4:

I came home from work & ate & made some pop corn & read the paper. I went to bed at 10: & got up at 2: & Ivard Jackie & I went in to bank, paid bills & went out with a real estate guy looking at places. We got Gene from practice at 5:30 & came home & Jerry had supper ready & we ate. I went to bed & Ivard rubbed my back for half hr. then he got up & watched T.V awhile.

Gene & Jerry both went ward teaching. every one went to bed early.

I got up at 10:30 and went to work at 11:

Ray started takeing Piano lessons

windy & cloudy most of day.

I came home from work & ate & had pop corn & Ivard & I played 2 games Scrabble.

I went to bed at 11:15 & Ivard & Jackie too. I got up at 3: & Ivard had gone to work at  3:

Dean & Dale seem a lot better, kept them in bed. They arent swollen up yet.

I got books up & crocheted until 5: then I went & got Ray at Pinsters he took his first Piano lesson from her after school. We went to town & got groc. then went to school & got Gene from practice & took Kurt home & he got Gene to stay to his place & go to basketball jamboree so he gave Ray 50 cents to milk. We came home & ate & I had a bath & we all had a malted milk & I went to bed at 8:30 until time to go to work.

Monday, March 13, 1961

I came home from work & Ivard was already home & in bed.

I ate & made me some pop corn & read paper & went to bed about 9:30.

Jerry washed cloths all day.

I got up at 3:15 & made bannana pudding & Jerry got supper.

Ivard went after little Kids & they came home bawling with sore throats so I put them both to bed, thought they might be getting mumps.

Gene took pick-up to school this morning & took Kids to school, he never got home from practice until 6:30.

We ate at 5: & at 5:40 Jerry & Ray left for Mutual, had to be there early for dance practice & meeting.

Gene did chores & Kurt came out & got him for Mutual.

I crocheted until 9:30 & slept an jr. & went to work.

Ivard didn't work today.

Sunday, March 12, 1961

cloudy & snow fluries.

I came home from work & went to bed a little while. Ivard, Jerry Gene & Ray went to Priesthood & sunday school.

I got up & peeled some more potatoes, Dean had some ready, & put under spare ribs. Jerry had cooking & got ready & me & little Kids went to sunday school. I went down in Junior S.S. for opening exercises Jackie had to give 2 1/2 min. talk. they had to help her, she knew it.

Came home & ate & played Scrabble.

Dean went to Allens after sunday S.

I went to bed at 5:30 until time to go to work.

Ivard & Jackie came to bed at 7:30 & rest of them went to church.

It started to snow at 4: A.M. slush comeing home. snow flurries & wind gusts all day. roads dry tonite.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:30.

Ivard went to work at 8: AM

I got up at 1:30 & Jerry & Gene had gone to Nyssa & I told them not to. I iorned 32 pieces & washed my bed & another batch.

Ray scrubbed & cleaned house & got supper.

We ate when Ivard came at 4:30 & he took me in to store, got home at 6: & I got books up & went to bed at 7:30.

Ivard & Kids watched T.V.

Ray & Dean did chores.

Gene & Jerry got home about 10:30.

I came home from work, ate, read paper & went to bed at 9:30. Jerry took Kids to school.

I was mad at Ivard & never spoke to him all day.

I got up at 1:30 & iorned 35 pieces We ate when Ray got home at 4:30 & Jerry & I went in to bank & got Gene from Practice. got home at 6: & at 6:30 I went back to bed.

Ivard plowed all day, I don't know why when we've lost place.

Jackie came to bed for nap at 2: & I got up & Ivard had gone away. I got books up & crocheted at 3:30 I took Jackie in to Primary & got groc. & sat & read D.C. while I waited then we went & got Gene from ball practice, came home at 6: & Jerry had supper ready & we ate.

I went to bed at 8:15 Gene took Jerry in to Mutual meeting at 7:30, got home at 10:

When I went to work I drove past Stockman & there sat Ivard, been there all day.

I came home from work & Ivard was home in bed.

I ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:45. when Jerry woke me up at 4:20 to go get Gene Ivard had gone to work again.

I read 4 Sections of D.C. while I waited for Gene. took Kurt home.

I got books up & we ate.

I crocheted until 7:30 & went to bed until time to go to work.

Gene took Ray to 2nd Ward Mutual, he had to go on Scout business.

Ivard worked an hr. overtime

I went to work at 11: Kids were home & in bed.

Tuesday, March 7, 1961

sent Genes Federal Income Tax in

got letter from Kay & one from Claudia

Gene went & did Wallys chores & Ivard came home from work & did ours, ate, read paper & went to bed.

Jerry took little Kids to school

Sunny & cold wind.

I got books up & started to work on my Income tax.

I went to relief society at 10: & bore my testimony had 72% out today, 47 members came home & crocheted on bedspread & at 2: Jackie & I took Jerry in to Dr. & I read 7 Sections on D.C. while I waited. Went to bank, got feed & groc. & came home at 4: & crocheted until we ate.

Jerry & I went in to church at 7:30 to ward leadership meeting. got home at 9:30 & went to bed until 10:30 then I went to work.

Ivard went to work for 11:30.

Monday, March 6, 1961

They repossed our baler & corn picker today because we missed this yrs payment

cloudy - windy & rain gusts.

Gene went & did Wallys chores.

I don't feel very good. worked on books & sent some payments.

Jerry washed cloths & played me Scrabble in between.

Ivard went over to Kuna hunting the sheep man to get our money for pasture but he didn't find him Came home & I said he should be hunting a place to move, today is our last day of our months notice, he got mad & went to town at 2:30 & I called Stockman at 7:30 & he said he'd be right home. I called again at 10: & told him to get my car home, he brought it home & took off back to work at 11: I got mad & laid off, I feel awful.

We ate & Gene went & did Wallys chores & Ray & Jerry did ours & Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Mutual, got home at 10: I crocheted on bedspread until 7:30 & went to bed.

Sunday, March 5, 1961

rained & snowed all morning. cloudy & cold wind all day.

Gene went & did Wallys chores then did ours.

Gene took Ray over o the Bishops to go to an early meeting.

Jerry & Gene went to Priesthood & Ivard & Jackie had a bath.

I made 3 carmel pies & 3 bannana pies had a bath & me & little Kids went to sunday school & Testimony Meeting. I bore my testimony

Ivard was 1st out & had to stay & listen  to phone, went to work right  after we got home & ate.

Jerry & I played game Scdrabble & Ray & Dean went collecting fast offerings.

Jerry went with Gene to do Wallys chores.

No church tonite. I didn't have to go to work. We all went to bed early.

Ivard got home at 11:30.

Saturday, March 4, 1961

Cloudy & snow flurries.

I came home & ate & went to bed at 9:30 as soon as I read paper. Ivard was already home & in bed  He got up in a little while & watched T.V. all day. I still didn't talk to him.

Jerry washed some cloths & studied all day.

Ray scrubbed & waxed & cleaned house.

Gene had to do Wallys chores this morning - at noon & tonite.

I got up at 1:30 & took Jackie to be with me for nap. We got up at 4: & ate & I worked on my books.

Simplots called at 6: & said we wouldn't work tonite or tomorrow, have to call in Mon.

I crocheted on bed spread mother gave me & we watched T.V. until it went off the air. Kids went to bed earlier.

Kay got to Lima Peru today

Gene had to go milk for Wally tonite

I came home from work & out here the ground was covered with snow soon melted. Ivard took Kids to school, I passed them up by corner.

I ate made me a bowl pop corn & read paper & Ivard, Jerry & I played a game of Scrabble. I went to bed at 11: & Ivard went hunting us a place to move, he said he never got home until about 6: & I ask him about it & he wouldn't answer so I got mad & went to bed.

Gail, Lynda & Kids came just as we were finishing eating. They left before Ivard got home, Gail was playing in tournment at Boise, got beat.

Ivard went to work for 11: & I left at 11:

We were out of oil & they came with some & furnace wouldn't kick in & we were without until Ivard got home. got down to 40 degrees.

Thursday, March 2, 1961

I came home from work & had some pop corn & read all the papers since we went to Utah.

nice day - partly cloudy.

I went to bed at 10: & got up at 3: & we took Dean, Dale & Jackie to town with us, Kids got out of school at 1:30. Jerry went & got them & took them this morning.

We got Ivards check, paid bills & went to bank & Ivard & Kids went & bought some school paper. We took them, got gas & came home & ate Jerry had it all ready. Ray helped with knots at Primary & came home with us. I got books up & went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work at 11:

Gene & Ray went with Kurt to Caldwell to high School tournment.

Wednesday, March 1, 1961

left for home

got up at 6:30 A.M & I packed to go home & we ate breakfast with Ruth & Ray & they left for work. We loaded car & went down to Irvins a few min. got some meat pies & some soap on sale went up to My cousin's Beth Hulse & I got some genelogy of Aunt Pearls, Uncle Bill was in Idaho. We left Bountiful for home at 10:30. I drove from outskirts of Brigham City to Burley, 147 miles. Got there at 1;45 & ate dinner & left for home at 2:15. Got diary up from Bountiful to Brigham City rained on us from Burley to Mountain Home. I finished reding "psalms" & read all of "Proverbs". We got home at 5:30 & I got suit cass put away. real hard wind home.

I had a bath & went to bed at 8: with Jackie.

I went to work at 11:

last day of Ivards week vacation.

Gene went in to 2nd wards Mutual.
