Got letter from Kay

Helped mother fix breakfast. Ivard took all the big boys & went to Tooele to bowl. I sat around, got in argument with Ma over religion & had to bawl.

Ivard & Kids came at 12:30 & about 1: we had a big Turkey dinner over to Berniece's. We sat for hr. trying to get mother to come home with us. left Grantsville at 3: & went over to Irvins store & saw him a few min & I went & saw Ruth then we went up to Ruth & Rays & had supper & they all went with us to Lagoon. Had lot of fun going on all the rices, 10 cent day (KSL.) 9 of us in our car. Came back to Ruth at 11:30 & went to bed. Ruth & Rays vacation

Monday, July 30, 1962

Jerry bought a brand new car

Got up & had breakfast & just messed around all day, thought we were going to take Kids swimming in Lake, they've never been in Salt water but Bernieces Kids can never do any thing & we ended up doing nothing, don't even visit. Dean & I copied a couple of sheets of genelogy each. I wanted to go to Salt Lake & get some genelogy from Leila Anderson but we never got around to it, Thats what I came for. Ivard put on his batheing suit and played with Kids on lawn in sprinkler.

We had dinner over to Bernieces had lunch supper at mas & went over to Bernieces & played Scrabble with Kids. Berniece went to meeting.

Came over & went to bed at 10:30 went to sleep with mother lecturing us on letting Jackie stay up so late ect. Some way they lived around here, no paper, radio, T.V., Kids can't do any thing or neither can they.

Sunday, July 29, 1962

We got up & ate & I spent most of the day copying genelogy, got 11 new pedigree charts. Ivard & Dean went to Priesthood & Dean, Dale & Jackie went to sunday school. Berniece had us all over to her place for dinner.

We all went to church, some missionary farewell, mob. No one even spoke to us or they didn't introduce us to any one. After we came home Mother, Berniece & Ken went up to the missionaries home for cookies & punch, didn't offer to take us. They weren't gone long. We laid out on lawn & rode up to get a drink but Dairy queen was closed. Ken got some icecream for Ivard & I, him & Mother. Berniece never did get over here. We went to bed. Kids slept on lawn.

Saturday, July 28, 1962

Went to Utah, Grantsville

Jerry got up & went to our work in car till 12:30.

I washed a batch of cloths & socks and iorned all morning. When Jerry came we took Jackie to Pecock & she had hair cut and Dean to Barber. Came home & packed and ate & at 5: Ivard & I, Dean Dale & Jackie left for Mothers. stoped in Burley and had supper & gased up at 9: We got to Mothers at 1: A.M. & woke Mother p. Kids slept in back of Bernieces Station wagon & we went to bed & talked for a long time.

Jerry & Ray stayed home. It was Jerrys idea, said he could have first 3 days off. then he didn't want to come, had too many other things he wanted to do. I couldn't afford to come but he said to go & see Mother before I went back to work & he'd pay the gas.

Friday, July 27, 1962

I washed cloths and rugs & iorned most of the day.

Dean washed wood work and cleaned bathroom & scrubbed & waxed it & Kitchen & front room.

Ray went to work 9:30 to 6:

Ivard & I played Scrabble awhile this afternoon out on lawn, while Dean was doing floors.

I cooked supper & we ate when Kids got home.

Jerry & Ray went with Rodney Hennis to Stake dance.

We watched T.V., Ivard had to be to work at 11:

Jerry & Rodney sat out in front after & talked couple of hours or so.

I went to bed at 12:30

Thursday, July 26, 1962

Ivard got ready & took Jackie to Primary while I showered & got ready & at 10: Jerry came home from work & we took him to Boise for Job interview, traveling Salesman, he didn't want it. I cashed Genes Ins. policy in hes had since he was a month old. He has a 11,000 policy now. Came home at noon & took Jerry back to work. hung a batch of cloths & Dean made hot cakes for their dinner really rained for awhile this morning

I went & signed up at 2:15 & got groc. Came back & took Ivard to work for 3:30, stoped & had drink.

Rays day off & when we got home from Boise him & Pick-up were gone - Nyssa I'll bet, he was, got home at 11:05 while I was up getting Ivard from work.

Jerry got home from M Men just before I left.

Wednesday, July 25, 1962

Cloudy -

Ivard got up & took Jerry to work & came back to bed & we read paper. He slept until noon.

Ray worked from 9:30 to 5:

I don't feel good, just laid around most of day - read all afternoon

Ivard took Dale to play ball at 4:30. They won.

I went & got Jerry at 6: & we ate at 6:30 when Ivard & Dale got home.

Jerry & Ray stayed home tonite. Ray went up & brought us all a cold drink.

At 8: Dean & I took our contest entries over to Blackers. Watched T.V.

Ivard didn't work to day, he got bumped off his regular job after 2 days. Went up & marked back on extra board. Said he was going to L.A. or G.F. but didn't

Tuesday, July 24, 1962

took Jerry to work

I washed some cloths & hung then Ivard & I went to bank, & paid a few bills.

Ray worked 9:30 to 6:

Dean did up work. we had lunch & Ivard & I played Scrabble until time for him to go to work at 3:45.

I cooked supper & went & got Jerry & Ray & we ate.

Jerry & Ray went to Stake dance for 24th.

I watched T.V. awhile, I was in bed when Jerry & Ray & Ivard got home. Ivard was here 1/2 hr before they were. I don't feel very good.

Monday, July 23, 1962

Ivard got up & took Jerry to work & went back to bed. I got up & read paper & got books up, all morning.

washed overalls & colored cloths.

At noon we went up town & got our cow payment & went to bank. Came home & had lunch & Ivard & I played Scrabble until he left for work at 3:45.

I got supper & went & got Jerry & Ray & we ate. Jerry, Ray, Dean & Dale went to Mutual, it was road show & icecream social for 24th. Jackie & I watched T.V.

Sunday, July 22, 1962

sure hot.

Ivard got home at 5:30 A.M & came to bed. I read paper & got up at 9:15.

Ray didn't have to work today. Him & Jerry & Dean went to Priesthood & Sunday School, Ray came back & took Kids to Sunday school.

I did all of yesterdays dishes & cooked spagetti & made salad & we ate when Kids came 2:, Ivard didn't get up & Jerry went to a meeting when he brought Kids home.

Gail, Lynda & Kids, Gene & Schulthies Kid came at 3: & ate, they are all moved with todays load. Have to bring our tractor & equipment yet. They left right after they ate. Dean & Ray did dishes. I washed 2 batches of cloths

Ivard, Ray, Dean, Dale & Jackie went to church. I watched T.V. my eyes hurt, full of puss. We went up to R.R., & got me some eye medecine before they went to church. Jerry got home at 1: Ivard didn't work today.

Saturday, July 21, 1962

Gail moved back to Nyssa.

Ivard got assigned a regular Job, got bumped before he worked.

Ivard got home at 7: & we read paper in bed then I got up & worked on my books. Hotter today 101 degrees.

Ray went to work at 9:30 to 6:

I changed all 5 beds and washed all of them. When Ivard got up we made my bed & I cleaned my bedroom then we made Jerrys bed & Ivard cleaned their room & I made Jackies bed & while I was doing cloths Ivard cleaned Jackies floor & bath room & hall & Kitchen, dust mop. Ivard picked over string beans while he watched ball game & I cooked them for supper. I got cleaned up & Ivard took me to store & I bought $36. groc. Came home & at 6:00 Gail & them came & got Debbie, had to hurry because there aren't any lites on truck. We ate and Jerry & Dean came from Scout camp at 7:30 & I took him up to D.Q. to work, supposed to be there at 5:  We went & got Ray at 6: & he went to Rodeo & Ivard bathed & went to bed. I watched T.V. Dean had blister & soaked his feet & helped me make bunk beds. Ivard floated on 11:

Friday, July 20, 1962

Ivard came from Boise & went to bed. I got up & fed Kids & cut out a halter & shorts for Jackie & Debbie out of pink Dennim & got them made. Some guy came & wanted to buy hay mower so Ivard got up & sold it to him for $145. he took it to bank & got 2 blades from Callahan's he fixed for us.

Ray worked from 9:30 to 6: & went to Rodeo.

When I finished Kids suits they bathed & put them on & Ivard & I, Dale, Jackie & Debbie went up town & Ivard & Dale had a hair cut & me & Kids went & bought me a fitted sheet for my big bed. We went out to "Kit Kat" & had our supper, I had Prawns, then we went & got Christene & Jeff & went up & Parked at Rail Road Shack & watched Parage, got icecream cones for Kids & came home & Gail came & got Christine & Jeff. couldn't stay, had Blanch's truck to move tomorrow & it didn't have lites. We watched T.V. Ivard went to work at 11:, herder, Nampa.

Thursday, July 19, 1962

Jerry went to Scout Camp.

Dean was 13 today.

Jerry didn't work today, took rest of week off & Him & Ray went to Boise all morning. Rays day off but he had to work for the other guy tonite 6: to midnite. They got home at 2: & Ray went to get his hair cut.

Jerry left, in our car, at 2:30 for Camp Billy Rice to stay rest of week with Scouts & bring them home.

I iorned all morning & showered & got ready & at 2: Ivard took me up to sign for unemployment then I went to Wards & got 22 towels on sale, for Xmas, got Dean & Dale some pants. picked Ray up from Barber & brought him home then Ivard & I & Jackie went over to Gails a little while & brought Debbie home to stay a couple of days, stoped & got material for her & Jackie a sun suit. Came & fixed supper & we went up to Parade. Had drink on way home. Gail came from Nyssa so they came awhile. Kids went to Primary. Ivard went to bed until time to go to Boise & I watched T.V.

Got letter from Kay

sent letter to Mother - Kay - Claudia and Lyle

Cool breeze

We cut off Diplomatic Relations with Peru this morning, Military has taken over the government, I'm worried sick.

Ivard got home at 7:30 & I got up & took Jerry to work. I washed 3 batches & wrote to Kay & Mother.

We had lunch & Ivard took Dale & Jackie & went up to Kurtz Park. Its our turn for  Cub Scouts & they are meeting there & play ball & games & have watermellon.

I wrote to Claudia and Lyle & we mailed them when we went up to watch the Parade after supper. stoped to D.Q. & had a drink on way home.

I watched T.V. & Ivard went to bed. He left for Boise to work at 11:

Ray went to show, Jerry had to work at D.Q.

Tuesday, July 17, 1962

Sent Dean a birthday card up to Camp

Ivard got home from Boise at 6:30 & came to bed. When I woke up Jerry was gone to work in my car.

Ray went to work at 9:30. I mailed $40. to Idaho Savings to start new account for Ray at 5% Int. He got $75. clear this check. Dale & Jackie did dishes & cleaned up & I washed 2 batches & iorned until Dale left for Garners after lunch.

Ivard got up at 1:30 & we went to bank & over to "Blackers" to take my Contest Entry. stoped to Gails but he wasn't home. got groc. & came home & I got books up & got supper and we ate when Jerry & Ray got home. Jerry & Ray went to Road show & Ivard & I took Dale and Jackie up to see the opening Rodeo Parade. Had a Sundee on way home.

Watched T.V. Ivard left for work at 11: with Medlay. Ray got home at midnite. Jerry got home at 5: A.M. had Party at Wilsons after Road show then drove to Grandview M. Home & back to breakfast.

Dean went to Camp Billy Rice for week

Got letter from Mother

Ivard got home from Boise at 7: & read paper & took Jerry to work then came to bed & woke me up. I about died when I looked at my watch. I though no one had woke up & Dean had missed Scout Camp but the Bishop came & got him at 5:

I washed cloths. I fixed Steak sandwiches for lunch & Ivard got up & we ate at 1:

Ray worked from 9:30 to 6:

After lunch we went to bank, & paid ills.

I fixed Sour Krut & weenies for supper & we all ate on the run went up with Ivard to sign up at 5:15 & waited for Jerry. Him & Ray went to Mutual & Ivard, Jackie & I took Dale over to Lincoln Park to his ball game, got beat. Came home & watched T.V. & Ivard went to bed until time to go to Boise to work at 10:45. Kids came at 11: & Jerry went up & got me a drink.

Sunday, July 15, 1962

I read paper in bed. Jerry & Ray got up & went to work at Dairy Q. from 10: to 5:

Ivard got up & bathed & him & Dean went to Priesthood.

Dale & Jackie had bath & got ready and Ivard came & got them  & they all went to Sunday S. I made macaroni salad & cooked min. steaks & we ate when they got home.

Jerry came home from work & got ready & went to Marshing to speak with Dr. Daines (High C.) after he had to speak in Fire Side in Caldwell.

Ray - Dean & Dale went to church & Ivard & I played Scrabble & we all watched T.V. when they got home.

Ivard left for work in Boise at 10:30.

Saturday, July 14, 1962

Jerry went & worked until 1: then worked on his talk & him & Dean went ward teaching in afternoon.

I washed cloths, Ivard came home & went to bed. He had to go back to Boise to work at 3:30, they got their work done & he was home again by 7:30 & we watched T.V.

Jerry went & bought us a hamberger and milk Shake for supper. He went to work at Dairy Q. from 5: until midnite & I went & got him.

Ray worked at D.Q. from 9:30 to 6: then he walked up town to show. He got home right after I got home with Jerry. When show was done I went to bed, Ivard went at 11:

Friday, July 13, 1962

I got up & got ready & took Jerry to work then I had to sit & waite 1/2 hr. to sign up for unemployment & an orientation meeting so I read paper, got home at 9:45.

Coll wind all nite & today.

Ray went to work at 9:30.

I feel awful, I washed some cloths & played Salataire most of day.

Dean scrubbed & waxed the floors & cleaned up house.

We had supper when Ivard got home with Jerry & Ray and Dean did dishes.

Gail brought pick-up home & Lynda & Kids came & got him. Him & Gene got on at Nyssa Sugar Factory, Gene stayed at Nancys.

Jerry worked at D.Q. 8: to 10: & Ray walked up & they went to road show Practice at 10:, came home at 10:40 & Ivard left for Boise to work. I watched T.V.

Thursday, July 12, 1962

windy all day.

Rays day off. He defrosted icebox for me & weeded flowers. He worked for Jerry tonite from 8: to 10:

Ivard got up & took Jerry to work & went back to bed until after noon.

I took Jackie to Primary, Dale rode his bike. Ray went & got her & took his picture proof's back & ordered his Senior pictures.

I patched all morning. made Dale 7 pr short pants & Dean 2 out of overalls with knees wore out.

Jerry came home for lunch. Dean cleaned Kettle cupboard.

Ivard & I played 2 games Scrabble then I cooked supper. Ivard took Dale up to Lakeview to play ball when he went after Jerry. We ate & took Jerry up to church to M-Men-Gleaners & went & watched Dale get beat. Came home & I went to bed at 9:, I feel awful. rest of them watched T.V. Ivard didn't work.

Wednesday, July 11, 1962

Got letter from Kay he is changed back to Lima & is District President & Traveling Superviseing Elder

Ray was 17 today. He worked from 9:30 to 6:

I got up & took Jerry to work.

Dean cleaned up the house and made Ray a cake & I helped him make 7 min. iceing.

I spent most of the day going through my Penny & nickle collection & catalogueing it. Tonite I had bath & washed my hair.

Ivard had to go to work at 4: so I took him up.

I went after Jerry & he had to go streight to work at D.Q. He was supposed to be to work at 6: & we stoped to Store so he was 15 min. late. Brought Ray home & Dean had table all set with cake lighted & presents. There was just Ray, Dean, Dale, Jackie & I. He got pr. black pants, 3 white shirts, 2 pr. socks & Record case. He went gadding & we watched T.V. He came home at 11: & I went after Ivard. We had drink while waiting.

Tuesday, July 10, 1962

We got up & had breakfast & at 9: Annie & Bud left for Morris's up in Oregon.

I washed some cloths & Dean did up work then Dean & I went to Caldwell & put some money in Dean, Dale, Jackies & my Savings account then we stoped to Gails a few min. They finished picking cherries today so Gene came home with us stoped in town & got a leather record case for Ray's birthday & pr. pants for Jerry to give him, 3 white shirts & 2 pr. socks for Kids to give him. Came home & Gene took Pick-up & went to Adrian, going to Seminary Party & stay all nite at Nancys & see about getting job.

Went & got Jerry & we ate & Jerry & Ray took off. Dean went with Small up to Dr Markinsons for his exampination for Scout Camp. Ivard didn't work today. We sat out on lawn & went to bed.

Monday, July 9, 1962

Annie & Budd came & stayed all nite.

Jerry went to work. I changed beds in Kids room & got all the washing done up.

Ray worked from 9:30 to 6:

Ivard spent all day fixing fence on new pasture & getting cows in it.

Dean cleaned up the house.

Ivard went to work at 3:30, left at 3:15 & right after Annie & Budd drove in from Salt Lake. Dale left for ball practice right after & told Ray & he called & wanted us to come up & have a drink so we did. I went to Store & got groc. in Gails car, Jerry had ours. Gail, Gene & Kids came & when Ray got home he got Lynda & we all ate supper out on lawn then Jerry took Ray & Dean to Mutual & Gail took the rest of us for a ride clear around lake & out & saw our old place & watched a plane dusing. Made beds & they went to bed before Ivard got home.

Sunday, July 8, 1962

Ivard, Jerry, & Dean took Ray to work at D.Q. on their way to priesthood. I laid in bed & read paper. Ivard came home & got Dale & Jackie & they all went to sunday school & fast meeting.

We had dinner at 3:30 & Dean did dishes. Jerry went messing around. & went to work at 5:

We played Scrabble & watched T.V.

Went to bed early.

Ivard got home from work at 7:30 & Jerry went to work. Ivard went to bed and I got up & washed some cloths & worked on my books. Dale did his chores.

Mrs. Bullen came & visited awhile.

Ray went to work at D.Q. 9:30 to 6:

Gene picked cherries with Gail & Dean tended Kids.

Jerry came at 1: & fooled around he worked at D.Q. 5: to closeing.

Gail, Lynda & Kids brought Dean home at 5: & Gene changed, took his suit case & went with them to Nyssa to stay overnite.

I iorned this afternoon

We ate on lawn.

Jackie rode up to work with Jerry at 10 to 5: & had to waite until 6: for Ray to get off to come home.

Ray went to dance. We watched T.V. Ivard didn't work.

Friday, July 6, 1962

Gene got home from Sacramento

Jerry got up & went to work without wakeing us then a little later we could hear some one walking & it was Gene, came on bus & got car from Jerry to come home.

I washed cloths & made new drapes for Kids room & iorned all afternoon.

Fixed supper & we ate outside. Ivard cooked hambergers on barbacue.

Gene went over to Gails in after noon & brought Dean home he tended Kids while Gail picked cherries. Gail & Kids came with him & he picked Jerry & Ray up at work. We ate & Jerry & Ray took off. Jerry worked at D.Q. from 8: to 10: Ray came back at 8:30 & took Gene miniture bowling. Lynda never did come after Gail & Kids so Jerry took them home at 10:30 when him, Gene & Ray got home. Gene went home with Gail to go pick cherries & Dean went to tend Kids. Ivard went to bed & went to work at midnite. Ray & I watched T.V.

Thursday, July 5, 1962

I got up & took Jerry to work & washed cloths. Took Kids to Primary & Ivard went & got them. We got Jackies floor scrubbed & fixed her room (utility room) into a bed room, I made drapes & Ivard put them up for her.

Ray went to work at 9:30 to 1: for Judy, it was supposed to be his day off. He came home & got ready & I took him up to Chapin's & he had his Senior Pictures taken & I went to bank drew out my $300, Secrete account at Home Federal & mailed it to Idaho Savings in Boise, get 5% Int. there. Went & signed up for unemployment, new year, took an hr. got Ray & came home & he went up & changed his pants & I got supper. I went up & bought some hooks & material for Kids drapes & got Jerry. We ate & Jerry & Ray went away. Gail called & Ivard & I took & Jackie, took Dean over to tend Kids tomorrow. We played Penochle until 11:

Ivard didn't work again today.

Wednesday, July 4, 1962

Jerry got up and went up to Loma with Stake M-Men & Gleaners.

Ray had to work at D.Q. 9:30 to 6:

I washed 3 batches of cloths & Ivard & I finished painting the utility room & we will fix Jackies bed room in there.

I made potatoe salad & fixed hamberger patties to cook outside on grill. Dean cleaned up the house.

At 3:30 we all rode over to Gails, the just got home from picking cherries we brought Kids home with us & they came later & we had picnic out on lawn. Ivard did hambergers on grill.

We played Penochle & Dean did dishes. they went home at 7: & we got ready & went to Caldwell to Fire works. Ray went with Croft. Got home at 11:30. Jerry had to work at D.Q. tonite. Ivard didn't work but gets Pd.

Tuesday, July 3, 1962

Jackie & Ivard went to Glenns F. on train & got pick-up.

I got up & took Jerry to work & washed cloths.

Ivard came home from work & went to bed until noon. The paint wasn't very dry in back room so we didn't paint today.

At 11: I went up & took Ivard & Jackie to catch the train for Glenns Ferry to get pick-up. We paid bills first. Train left at noon & I went to Caldwell & had Int., on all our bank accounts, put in our books. Came back to Nampa & bought $42. worth of groc. Came home & put groc. away and went after Jerry & we ate when Ivard & Jackie got home at 5:30. Ivard forgot Key & had to have new lock made $7. Jerry stayed home tonite. Ray went with Croft.

Ivard didn't work tonite.

Dean moved everything & scrubbed & waxed & we washed  curtains & windows

Monday, July 2, 1962

real cool this morning

got up at 7: & took Dean over to the Orchard where Gail works to pick cherries. I got my fill.

Came back & Ivard cleaned the stuff out of Utility Room & we started to paint it. I changed Kids beds & washed cloths all day.

Ray worked at D.Q. 9:30 to 6: I had to take him, he was still asleep when Edith came. We painted all day.

We ate & Jerry took Ray & Dean to Mutual & brought us back a drink.

Gail brought Dean home at 4:30 & we got beds made & cloths put away.

We watched T.V.

Ivard went to work at midnite.

Sunday, June 1, 1962

Ivard & I read paper in bed then we got up & finished going over the Penny Collection & bagging them up by noon.

Jerry - Ray - Dean & Dale went to conference & when they got home at noon we had barbacue ready & we ate then Jerry - Ray & Dean went to afternoon session. Ray had to leave in middle & be to work at Dairy Q. at 3: till 10:

I finished up collection & worked on books & Ivard had bath & went to work at 4: left at 3:30 on bike.

Jerry & Dean came home at 4:15 & at 5: I took Jerry up to Dairy Q. to work until closeing.

Dean & Jackie did dishes & I wrote Kay. At 11: Dean & I went up to D.Q. & had a drink then went up & sat at R. R. till 12:30, came home & Ivard had come home was supposed to take Dean over to Gails.
