Cold & cloudy - wind

Gene came over & got Dean to go to Boise, to help Mrs. Jones get back, at 7: AM. He had to leave at 3:15 for Fort Lewis. At 1:30 Dean called us & told us what time he was leaveing so when Jerry got home & we called Ray at D.Q & he came home & Ivard & I - Jerry, Ray, Dale & Jackie went over to Gowen Field & saw him off on Plane. He cried, he sure hated to go. Joneses followed us home & Jerry dashed to store & we fixed hambergers & ate & Mrs Jones did dishes. We played games & worked puzzles. Neva stayed all nite. They left & we went to bed about 10:30.

Kids didn't have Piano lesson this week.

3º below this morning

Dale went on paper route to learn it to substitute & came home bawling, it was too cold

I spent all morning cooking turkey dinner for Gene last day. and we ate about 2: Mrs Jones & her 3 girls Gene & Cherl, us & Lyle 13 of us. Ray was to work at Dairy Q.

Lyle came over with out Barbra & Kids so we could visit with Gene without Kids running around

They moved Genes freezer over here & we played games until midnite & Dean played for us. Lyle told us goodbye & went back over to Metcalfs at 12:, was going home in Morning Gene left about 12:30 & we went to bed.

Lyle left for Metcalfs

Foggy this morning but sunny all day. I got up & made hot cakes & it was 11: time they ate.

Jerry got Gene to go on milk route with him.

Dean doesn't feel good, he did dishes. We played penochle & Kids walked over to Gene's. we played games & I washed some cloths.

I was just going to fix supper about 4: & Lyle & Barbra packed up & left for Metcalfs. I think Barbra was mad because I hollored at Kids.

We ate & Gene & Jones came over & we visited & played games

Kay called -

Lyle & family came

Snowed 4 ins about 7 A.M. & flurries on & off all day

We got up at 4: to open presents & waited until 5: for Gene & Mrs Jones & we opened our presents. everyone had a wonderful Xmas.

Jerry went on paper route & Gene went home & at 10: Gene came back & brought Mrs. Jones & her 3 girls & we had breakfast, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast & milk & apple sauce.

Ivard didn't feel good & him & I & Ray went to bed & Gene took Dean & Dale to Priesthood. When Jerry came he took Jackie to S.S.

Gene came at 5: to open presents but Lyle didn't show up so we locked up & all went to church. Lyle came to church & got Key. After church we opened the presents we drew names for & had lunch buffet. Gene went home at 11:45 & we went to bed. roads real slick.

Cheryls Mother came about midnite

Sunny all morning - cloudy this afternoon. I changed every bed in house & washed cloths all day.

Made big Kettle of chilli & cooked 2 dz. eggs & made egg salad for sandwiches, & a ground meat & cheese filling & a big bowl of potatoe salad all for tomorrow. wrapped my presents & got house cleaned up. Ivard worked all day helping.

Jerry & Dale went on Milk route & Dean scrubbed floor & waxed & got house looking pretty good.

Gene & Cheryl came about 7: Gene had been here on & off all day, & Cheryl made anchaladas for supper. We played Santa Clause & Kids went up to D.Q & got their things they had hid & we went to bed at 12:30. It was 2: time Kids got to bed.

Simplots went down for holidays

I got laid off until Jan. 4 came home from work & laid down for a couple of hrs. & when Jerry came home from work we went up town & pd. some Bills & got my laways out then we went to Caldwell to I.D. & stamp center there came back & got Xmas groc at Butterys & came home & Ray had supper ready & we ate & he went to work 5: to close

Kids got out of school until Jan.

Jerry, Jackie & I went back up town & finished getting our groc. came home at 9: & went to bed I was so tired

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:15. woke up at 12:15 so I got up & made some tea & washed 3 batches of cloths, one socks.

Gene was here this afternoon then went & got Cheryl & they had supper with us. & went home. I made barbacue Jerry made a double batch of icebox cookies & put in freezer then went & got Dean & they left for Boise after we ate & Ray. Went to Aunt Vene's & saw lights. got home at 8

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Gene & Ray went & played ball, Ivard didn't feel like going to watch.

Got letter from Mother

I went to Boise to Hobbycraft meeting

got down to 23 º in nite but clear. Sunny today.

We had our Simplot Xmas dinner at 4: A.M. I came home from work & got ready & went to Boise to Hobbycraft Xmas Party & meeting with Esther Peddit my manager. It was at gold room of the Kings Table. Smorgesboard real nice. had gift Exchange I was awarded my 1 yr pin & won a Xmas coursage for 2nd high Sales. went up & looked at bomb shelter in Highlands. got home at 3:30 & went to bed at 4:30 until time to go to work.

Jerry fixed supper & Dean & Dale went to Piano L. Jerry went with them.

foggy in Nampa - colder.

I came home & went right to bed I could hardly make it into house my ankle was swollen so bad & my big toe hurt (infection,) on other foot & my infection on wrist & my cold sore. I could have screamed I stayed in bed all day with my feet elevated.

Jerry got supper & I got up & ate & went right back to bed. didn't sleep but it helped my legs.

Ray was gadding all day long & went on to work.

Ivard, Dean, Dale & Jackie went to church to Xmas programe & Jerry wrapped presents. When Ivard & Kids got home Jerry & Dean went up to Evelyns.

I washed 2 batches of cloths & read paper & went to bed about 10:30. sorted rest of cloths & Jerry washed a couple of batches & I did another when I got up at 2: I put cloths away & fixed some more cards to mail & cooked supper & we ate as soon as Kids got home from school. Jackie & Ivard did dishes & Ray went to work with Gene & Dean took car up to him & Jerry, Dale & I went & picked him up & we went Xmas shopping came home at 7:30 & I went to bed until time to go to work & Jerry wrapped presents.

My 32d Anniversary

24 º low foggy all nite & comeing home - Sunny till this afternoon then it got real foggy again

I came home & put chilli beans on & went to bed at 9:30 but never did get any sleep because Jackie & Dale fought all the time so I got up at 1: & painted all afternoon after I made chilli.

My 32 wedding Anniversary just like my wedding day - just another day. Ivard didn't even say any thing. Jerry had floral delivers a pretty boquet tonite from him & Kids Married Kids didn't even send card Ray left for work at 8:30 & got home at 6:30. Ivard - Ray - Dale & Jackie, Dean went to Owyhee Ward to wedding reception for Vivian Barrett, with Gene Jerry went to Merylyn Buttlers. I went to bed until time to go to work

real foggy all nite & this morning 24 º in Caldwell & 28 º in Nampa when I came home from work. I read paper & went to bed at 9:30. Ivard got up after I went to bed & took some Ins. papers up to Dr & took Cyco teacher out to Mrs Hogg (Rays) & sold it to her I got up at 1:15 & Ray was up town, Pay day, came home & got his Xmas cards ready & left for work at 4:30.

Jerry came home & at 4: went & got Dean & took to Printers & went & loaded his truck.

Cheryl & Gene came. I cooked supper but they wouldn't stay. We ate when Kids got home at 5:45 Dale came home from bus bawling some high school kid beat him up for calling him names. I went & talked to Kid. I finished Painting Jerrys rooster table cloth for him.

I went to bed. Dean went to ball game.

I stayed up until noon makeing Jerry a 2 layered jello salad for Mutual party tonite. I read paper - ate & washed 2 batches of cloths while I waited. Jerry got home early today & wrapped Presents all day Ivard & Kids got tree up in front room, our third in house, Dale threw his out because he got mad. Ray went up town. I went to bed at 12:30 & they woke me up at 4:30 so I got up. Jerry went & picked Dean up & they went & loaded his truck & came home & went to Mutual Party. Ivard, Dale, Jackie & I ate when Gene & Cheryl brought Sis home from Primary. Ray went to work at 5: I went to bed at 7: till time for work.

Ivard got up and went with his manager selling world book, sold 1 for him then I got up at 1: & we went to bank & paid place & he met Mrs Hogg in store & sold her Ray's Scico teacher. Came home & Kids were gone. went with Gene, they got got home right after we did.

I cooked supper & we ate when Kids came from bus.

Ray got home from Utah

Jackie home again today.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed. Ray was home from Salt Lake.

Phone woke me up at 1:10 so I got up & washed a couple batches of cloths Don Carroll came & drilled holes in walls & put picture hooks up for us

Jerry & Ray were up town & came home & brought us a milk Shake. I made potatoe soup & toasted tuna sandwiches & we ate when Dean & Dale came from bus. Jerry came home from Paper route & he, Ivard, Ray, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & S.S. - Rays day off. cheryl came & got Jackie for S.S. late I cooked a roast, carrots & Peas mashed potatoes, corn brown gravy & had Pickles, beets & cottage cheese & Pineapple & I made 3 lemon Pies & we ate at 1:30. Cheryl & Gene, Dennis Durham & Jackie Poppleton ate with us, John came after he got off work at 4: Ivard sold Dennis a set of World books. I painted & they showed the slides Gene is going to show in Fireside tonite. Dale had to stay home from church because he didn't do his dishes, he did them after every one left. Jackie had to bad of cold to go so she went to bed & I had a bath & went to bed. Betty came & took Ray to Party at 6: then to train. I went to work at 11:

snowed during nite - cloudy sunny -windy today. Jerry & Dean never went on Milk route until 7: I got up & washed & iorned & painted Xmas decorations all afternoon. Ray went to work 11: to 6: Kids came home & Dean cleaned up house then him & Jerry took off awhile Cheryl came a few min. then little later Gene came Jackie & Dale walked over to Genes but there weren't home. We ate at 6:30 & Jackie did dishes. Dale went bowling. Ivard & Ray drove me out of front room to listen to ball games so I went down & finished my iorning, 23 pieces they had ball game so loud, I could hear T.V. down stairs so I went to bed. Jerry went to work & Kids to school & Ivard & Ray took car up to Dobbs & had Motor tune-up, & new fuel pump $60. worth. They left it & came home & decorated some more on outside of house

I washed 5 or 6 batches of cloths & painted 2 stockings for Xmas, made 3 pumpkin pies & 3 pie shells. Jerry came home awhile then finished his route Gene was here all afternoon, Cheryl was working. Ray went & got Dean at 4:30 & went & got Dodge & went to work & Dean went up to Dairy & helped Jerry load up & they came home & I had supper ready. Ivard did dishes & Jerry wrapped presents & Dean typed Dale didn't get home until 11: when I went out to Hoggs & got him. watched T.V. until it went off air.

Gene was Inducted into Army

cloudy - snow flurries, cold

Ivard & I got up at 5:30 A/M & Gene & cheryl came & got us & we took Gene to Caldwell to Selective Service & he left for Boise on Bus at 6:45 to be inducted into Army. He said he was going to Fort Lewis, Washington & could visit all afternoon until his bus left at 6: so we came home & Ivard & I had nap & Cheryl went home, she came back at noon & Ivard & I, Jerry & Ray went with her to Boise to see Gene. We went & met him & had dinner at bus depot then he had to go back to Induction Center all afternoon & get signed up & we sat in car & froze. He took his 20 day leave first & doesn't half to report until Dec. 28 so we went to Wells Xmas shopping & came home & I cooked hambergers & we ate & Dean went to play practice. Red car won't ru so I laid off again.

Rained during nite - cold wind & real cloudy all day Snowed all around, rained a little here. I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:15 & got up at 1: Ivard & I played Scrabble & Joe Metcalf came & brought us 30 loaves of bread he got at bakery.

Ray went messing off up town & didn't go to work until 6: Jerry came home & got ready & went & met Jackied at school & they did her Xmas shopping & Picked Dean up & took to Printer, got home at 5: I painted on Xmas things. Ray went to work at 7:

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed. Ivard & Ray got up & got the roof of house outlined in Xmas lights after 3 trips to town for Ray.

Gene came & got our Xmas for Gail & went to Pocotello at noon to take them his food & stuff before he leaves.

I got up at 1:30 & washed a batch of coths & relief S. teachers came. Jerry came home before noon awhile then finished his route & came home & got ready & went up town shopping & got Dean. Ray went to work at 5: to close.

Kids went to Mutual at 6: & Dale went to Givins with Scouts. I went to bed until time for work. Sis & father did dishes.

Kids went to school before we woke up. I cooked breakfast & we all ate & Gene came & him Ivard, Ray & Lyle went up to bank to see about Ray buying Genes car, but he decided not to.

I changed Jackies bed & washed it & Jerrys he changed yesterday & did up all the cloths.

Jerry didn't get home until 4: from work then he went & got Dean & came back & Dairy truck came & he left in it. I washed my hair.

Ray went to work at 5: to close. We ate at 5:15. I read my relief Society Magazine Dean went after Jerry at 6:30 then they got ready & went to Boise. I went to bed at 6:

Jerry went on paper route & Ivard, Jerry, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood then Ivard & Dale came home & woke me up & I got up & put ham to roast & Ivard fed Kids. Lyle & family came, got down to her mothers last nite.

Gail & Lynda left for home on noon train - Ray & gene took them up in 2 cars & nearly made them miss it.

We ate at 2: when Jerry & Dean came from Fast meeting.

Jackie did dishes. Jerry & Dean went & picked up 10 Xmas trees the Scouts got, for people they sold too & they got theirs set up in their room. We played Penochle & Kids played down stairs. Gene came over again about 6: & we had desert & visited My nite off.

I came home from work & fed Kids & at 10: I sent them over to Genes, with Ray on his way to work 11: to 7: to their mother & I went to bed. Ivard went Selling World Book all day with his manager & sold him a Set Dale went to Idaho City Sleigh rideing all day. Jackie & Debbie played down stairs & I slept a hr. & door bell woke me up so I got up & made 12 qts chilli & 5 qts potatoe salad & washed some cloths then I went back to bed at 2: & at 2:20 Gail came & dumped Kids out & went shopping so I got up & never did get any sleep. They came back at 5: & we ate & Ray tended Kids & Ivard & I & Gail & Lynda went to Caldwell to Jewit Audatorium & saw the "Messiah." Gene went with John P. & Jerry & Dean went in our car. We had Genes. Gail stayed at Genes & Kids here. My nite off. Got everyone to bed & Ray & I watched T.V until 1:30 AM

stormy all day - rained in nite. I came home from work & went to bed & stayed all day. I was tired & didn't feel good. I got up at 4:

Ivard had World Book meeting here

real cloudy all day - rained on me all way home from work. Sun came out at 4:30 for awhile. I came home & went right to bed. Kids woke me up at noon. Ray is sick & sent Jerry up to D.Q for his check & each of us a milk Shake & hamberger then him & I went to bed & Jerry went up town for Ray. Woke up at 4: & Ray was worse so I called Dr Weshe & Ivard took him up & pd. bills while he waited. Ray got home from Rexburg

Dean home sick

49 º rainy most of nite & today. I came home & went right to bed. I got up at 2: & Ray was home.

I read papers, washed batch of cloths & crocheted my foot hurts so bad I can hardly walk, my big toe. I soaked it & went back to bed at 7: but never did sleep. Gene came right after & called Lyle, they will be down this week end to see Gene. We talked.

Dean was home with sore throat & Ray came home half sick.

Kids didn't go to Piano lessons.

I went to work 10 to 11: & mailed an order to world book for Ivard.

rained most of nite & on & off today. I came home from work & went right to bed, I was so tired. Ivard was still in bed, he got up at 10:30 & went & got hair cut. Jerry came home & woke me up at 12: & he took money to bank for me & paid some bills. I got up then & worked on Xmas decorations & Ivard helped me trace patters Jerry came home & wrapped Xmas presents and he got supper. I read paper while they ate, on 3 day liquid diet. Ivard & Jackie did dishes. Jerry Dean & Dale went to Mutual at 6: so Dean could practice.

Ray went to Rexburg at 1:40 AM

I went back to work

windy in nite, cloudy this morning & rained all afternoon. I stayed up after T.V. went off & fixed Ray a lunch & at 1:40 AM Phil Murray came & got hm & they went to Rex burg. I went to bed & never woke up until after Jackie had gone to school. I painted all morning & Ivard went out selling world book this afternoon. I washed 3 batches of cloths plus Sock batch & finished up all the iorning, 26 pieces & got everything put away.

Jerry came home at 3:45 & fixed supper. I didn't eat today.

I had bath & went to bed at 6:30. Jerry & Dean went home teaching after Dean did dishes. I went back to work after 10 days off, sick & Thanksgiving holiday

Ray got home at 3: AM. & stayed in bed until 9:30 & went to work 10: to 6: Jerry went on paper rout

Ivard, Jerry, Dean & Dale went & got Gene & went to Priesthood & S.S. I painted Xmas decorations & had dinner ready when they came at 12:30. Gene & Cheryl came We ate & Jackie did dishes for Dean & Dean & Jerry went to Stake Preparation Meeting.

I put new over on iornwrite & iorned 16 pieces & washed some sweaters.

I painted awhile.

Everyone went to church & I stayed home & watched T.V. didn't get hair washed or a bath. Every one came home & went to bed but Jerry, he went to Boise to meet Plane & get Donna. I stayed up until 12:40 & watched T.V. & made lunch for Ray

I painted all afternoon & made turkey chow-Mein for supper. We ate & Jerry went over to Lenords awhile to make out Paper bills. Dean studied & rest of us watched T.V. I painted until 7:30

Gene & Cheryl came over & watched T.V for awhile. Gene has to go in army Dec. 8. Ray came home & got ready & went on Date - show.

Sunny & breezy, not very cold. never got up very early. Gene went on milk route with Jerry today. Ray went gading off somewhere.

I washed cloths & made out Payments & worked on my books & when Jerry got home we went up town to bank, paid lights, phone & Top Furn. in full & went to Wards - Penny & Hales. Came home & fixed supper & we ate & Ray went to work at D.Q. 5: to close. Dean cleaned house.

Gene came & got his coursage Jerry got for him & they went to Stake Gold & Green ball & so did Jerry & Dean. Dean had to dance in floor show. Dale went & practiced basketball

Frosty this morning. Sunny all day & nice.

I got up at 7:30 & Put the turkey in oven & made dressing & peeled potatoes & got dinner ready & at 2: we ate our Turkey & all the trimmings. Gene & Cheryl were here & at 3: Ray left for work at D.Q. 3: to close.

Dean, Chery & Jerry did dishes

We watched T.V. & played games & about dark we had carrot pudding.

Gene - Jerry - Dean, Dale moved Piano down in play room.

We had fire in fireplace & watched T.V.

Kids went to bed early.

Ivard & Jackie got home from Utah.

Dean got home from Moscow at 2: AM & at 5:40 AM. I got up & took him up to Stake House to dance practice & he stayed to Seminary. I went up to R.R. depot & waited until 6:30 for train & brought Ivard & Jackie home & she got ready & I took her to school & bought groc. nearly noon time I got home. Ray went to work on lunch hr.

Jerry got home at 3:30 from doing double milk route & got ready & took Donna to Boise to catch plane

We ate & Kids went to Piano lesson late, because Jerry didn't get here.

I made 2 batches of carrot Puddings for holidays, 8. Ray worked 5: to close. Watched T.V. Cheryl was over.

Jerry came home from work & we went over to Simplots & got my check. Plant is down after today until Sunday nite. We went to Gold Strike Stre. we came home at 11:30 & Ray came right after & him & Jerry went to Boise. Jerry went to Dr. Jones & got new glasses. I had supper ready when they got home at 4:30 & we ate & Ray went to work 5: to close.

Jerry & Dale went to Mutual. I crocheted & cleaned my bathroom & dressers off.

Jerry went to work & Dale went to Seminary. I got up at 9: I feel worse today, my cold is in my Sinus. I washed 2 batches of cloths & iorned 16 pieces.

Got Rays breakfast & got him up at 11: & he bathed & ate & went to work at 11:30. Him & Jerry never got home until 2:30 Avon lady was waiting for them. Cheryl walked over & Kids took her home at 3:30 & brought back a Submarine & we ate & Ray went to work for couple of hrs, his nite off. Dale came home & ate & him & Jerry went Xmas shopping

I still didn't go to work. I watched T.V.

not very cold. Jerry went to Paper route & came home & got ready & went to Scout meeting. I got up & fixed Dean 2 pr. pants & he packed & at 8:40 I took Dale & Dean & went & got Gene & dropped Gene & Dale off to Priesthood & took Dean up to High School to catch bus for Jernalism convention at Moscow for 3 days. I came home & made a cake & 2 batches of cranberry-orange relish & read Paper. When they came from SS Jerry & Dale fixed tamales, smothered with chilli & we ate.

Ray stayed in bed until noon & went to work 5: to close

Jerry went to S.S meeting at Stake House. I crocheted.

Dale did dishes. Jerry & Dale went to church & I watched T.V. till it went off air, I feel awful. stayed home from work wind blew hard tonite.

I feel awful. I made out tri chem order & washed 4 bathces of cloths, changed My - Jackies & Dales bed. Dean & Jerry made my bed when they got home. I feel so awful, ear ach & bad cold that I laid off again, I sure can't afford it tonite was time & a half 18.90. Dale went to bed, Ray went to Boise with Phil & Jerry & Dean went to Nancys reception. I watched T.V. until it went off air.

Dean went up to School to banquet & Dale went to Mutual with Hoggs. Jerry & I went to bed I went up at 11: to take Ray to bus but he wasn't through so I went to work & gal at work took him.

I woke up at 2: & Ivard & I went to bank & bought 200 lbs beans & got 2 steel shelves at S&H Green stamps came home & washed batch of white shirts & a batch of socks & iorned 15 pieces Jerry fixed supper when he got home from Paper route & we ate at 6:45 & Jerry & Dean went to hospital & home teaching Ray got home from work at 2:15 & left again at 4: to work 5: to close. Jackie came from Primary at 5:3. Dale went to Hoggs after school & to basketball practice, got home 10: when Ivard went after him. Dean got home on bus today & had nap. I went to bed at 7:30 until time for work.

I came home from work & Ivard was home from Utah. Dean, Dale & Jackie went & got him from train & took Jerry to work. He was bathing & we read paper & went to bed. I got up at 1:30 when Ray came from work & washed 3 batches of cloths & hung one out then Ivard & I went & voted & bought groc & came home & cooked supper. Dale brought Tim Hogg Home & after they ate they went to Mutual with Dean at 6: so they could play basketball while Dean Practiced organ. Ray went to work at 5: & Dean came home from school in car & they will take it back to him after Mutual. Jerry went to Mutual at 7: & I went to bed until time to go to work & Ivard.

Ray had bath & went up town before he went to work on lunch hr. came home & him & Jerry had nap. I worked on books & made out tri-chem order. Kays baby funeral.

I left Utah for home. Ivard stayed

warm - Sunny - nice day

We got up & I got breakfast & Ivard did dishes & we had bath & got ready & at 10:30 we went over to Mortuary & saw baby Andrew & had prayer then we went to Kays ward & had real nice funeral, at 11: not too long then went to Cemetary, it was a beautiful day, we didn't even wear coat Mother, Ken & Berniece & Laurie came over & after the Cemetary we all went to Petersons & had lunch & visited Clauida went too but has to stay at Petersons & go to bed few days. We went over to Kays after Mother left & visited & at 5:30 Ivard, Kay Ray & I went down to Lee's Cafe & I bought their supper then Kay & Ivard took Ray & I to catch train at 7:30 & we came home. Ivard stayed for week to visit. We went to Cemetary again & got flowers & took Pictures

We just got back to Petersons after funeral, when Gail - Lynda, Billy, Gene & Cheryl came. left again at 5: They left kids with Dale & Jackie I was so mad at them. Gene was going on home from Pocotello.

Nice day We got to Salt Lake at 6:30 A.M & Kay was there to meet us. We went out to his place & Kay fixed breakfast & we tended Ike & he went to hospital at 11: & got Claudia but she has to stay at her mothers for week.

I cooked dinner & we ate & Ray did dishes & we went over to Petersons & saw Claudia & visited then at 5: we went to Mortuary & dressed the baby, only 12 in. long but perfectly formed - hair, finger nails, eyebrows looked like little old man had real cute blue velvet, tiny casket. went back to Kays & he went over with Claudia & we watched T.V. & Ruth & Ray came & visited for awhile,

Dale cleaned up house & I went up town & picked up Jackies birthday cake & got groc. & when Ivard & I got back Kids were already here for Jackies birthday Party, 10 girls, Dale took charge of games & all. I got supper on & took Kids home & took Dean to Barber & waited at D.Q for him & Ray we came home & ate & we took Jackie over to stay at Genes while Ivard - Ray & I went to Salt Lake & Dean took us to train at 8: & he went to Home comeing dance.

Kay called this afternoon to tell us Claudia had her baby - early, only about 6 mo. along. It lived 2 1/2 hrs & Kay named & blessed it before it died. We called Lyle then when he got home tonite he called us & said maybe they'd be down to go to funeral.

Ivard went on Paper route with Jerry so he could do it tomorrow but he got sick.

I got supper & we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work. Ivard & I - Jerry & Dale went to Ward reunion. Dean went to Home comeing game - Jackie went to school carnival.

Ivard went & got Dean at school then took him out to Herrns to Piano l then went with Ray when he went to work & got car at Lenord Rose's & went & got Dean & we ate then Jerry & Dean went to Mutual. Rays day off but he worked lunch hr, then came home & watched T.V.

Jerry came home at 2: from work & went on paper route & Ivard & I went up town & Paid bills & bought 3 new tires, 2 snow tires we put De Soto. We got a new tire for Dodge for 1/2 price for one Ivard wrecked when wheel came off. Came home & got cloths in & went & got Dean at school at 5.

Fixed supper & Dean made a gingerbread. We ate at 6:45 & Dean did dishes & him & Jerry went home teaching & Ray went to M-Men Gleaner haloween Party. I went to bed until time to go to work.

Jerry got up & went on Paper route & came home & Him, Ivard, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & S.S. Cheryl came & got Jackie for S.S then here & Gene brought Ivard & Jackie home after & spent the day & had dinner.

Jerry had nap & Ivard & Gene watched T.V. & Cheryl. Dean went to Stake  meeting. I wrote letters until noon & got dinner & after we ate I finished my writeing wrote to Lyle, Gail & Kay.

Ray worked from 9:30 to 8: & went messing around until 2: AM. Dean woke up too late to take scholarship test did up work. Ivard watched T.V. & we played 1 game of Scrabble When Jerry came from work he & I & Ivard went up town & bought 5 garbage cans to store food in & got 8 cases of food with money the guys at R.R. gave us. at 6: Jerry, Dean, Me - Ivard, & Jackie went to Boise to Chuck Wagon & ate were home & in bed at 9:30 when Gene brought Dale

I woke up at 3:30 & still no one home. Dale went on milk route with Jerry then they came home & went again.

Dean had to be in Caldwell at 8: this morning for A.C.T. tests

I washed a batch of cloths.

Dean went on paper route with Jerry, the got home at 5:45.

Jerry bought stuff for hambergers & I cooked them & we ate when Ray got home

Dean had a date, Spitz formal. Jerry & Dale & I went to bed & Ray watched T.V.

Dean got home at 1: A.M.

I went to work at 11: Dale still hadn't done dishes

Ivard & Jackie went to Pocotello for week end. I called Lynda

Got down to 22 last nite

I went back to work after week off

I got up & read paper. Ivard had to be to Dr. at 10:45 so he took Ray to work early & had car greesed Dodge & oil change & they came home at 1:30. On Ins paper where it said when will he go back to work Dr. put never. He told him to get another 90 day leave of absence & he'd see. I made a cake with a pineapple coconut filling & 7 min. iceing & cooked supper. We ate about 6:00 when Jerry finally got home from work & he brought Dean. I crocheted. Ray had to go to work at 4: till close.

Jerry took Ivard & Jackie up to catch 8: train to go to Gails. I went to bed & it was 5 to 11: when Ray called & got me up to go to work. I drove

First Snow, in Mountains

54 º - Real windy & cold, snow flurries this morning. Sunny & pretty good this afternoon. Jerry went on milk route & Ray went to work.

Ivard & I went to Ontario Oregon to G. & B. to see about our King size mattress, guaranteed 10 yrs & its been wrecked yearly ever since we had it. We have to write Co. so I did. We stoped in Nyssa to Rays Food Fair & got groc. Came home & got supper.

Ivard & I played Scrabble while we waited for Kids. Went & got Jerry at 5:30 & lawn mower & Dean at school & we ate. Ray went 5: close

I didn't go to work again. so blustery & cold, wind storm, & I domt feel so hot yet. g

Ivard & Ray went to Glenns F & got dodge

58 º sunny - cloudy - rained during nite & early this morning, dust storm tonite.

Jerry went on milk route & got home at 11:30 & took Ivard & Ray up to catch the noon train & they went to Glenns Ferry & brought the Dodge home after all summer. Rays day off.

I washed 4 batches of cloths & hung out & iorned 25 pieces & got batch of Socks put away. washed 2 batches of rugs this evening.

Jerry got supper. Ivard & Ray came about 5:

Kids went up town then we ate & they went to take a girl a birthday present. Dean & Dale went to Piano L. Ivard & Jackie did dishes.

Jerry went to work & Kids went to school. Jerry got home at 9:30 & Ray took me to relief Society, work day, had real nice dinner. Ray came & got me at 1:30 when he got off work. We watched early movie & I crocheted. I got supper & we ate when Kids came from school & Jerry took Ray up to work 5 to close

Jackie did dishes & I got books up

Jerry, Dean & Dale left for Mutual at 6:45

We watched T.V. & went to bed at 11:

Monday, October 10, 1966

Sunny 71 º . I never got up until 9:45. didn't get much sleep in nite. I still feel awful. I think its gall bladder attack.

I washed 2 batches of cloths & hung out & Ivard did dishes & washed bottles & I bottled 12 pts mustard pickle. took Ray to work at 4:30, early, so I could get Dean from school. We went to store. Watched early movie & went & got Jerry from Dairy & took him to Ross's to get car & do paper route.

At 6:30 Father & I went over to Gene & Cheryl's to supper, mexican food it was real good. Came home at 10: & went to bed, I'm still sick, after show.

froze a little last nite

Sunny & nice today. Jerry got up early & went on paper route & came home & him Ray, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & S.S. Cheryl came & took Jackie to S.S Ivard had to stay home & watch world series. I got a batch of mustard pickle into brine - washed a batch of cloths & put 8 pcg's of cauliflower in freezer & cooked dinner, stuffed peppers & tomatoe gravy, baked squash & cauliflower with cheese sauce. Gene & cheryl came & ate & spent afternoon. I iorned few things & patched a couple. Dean & father did dishes.

I went to bed & Kids went to church. Ray went to work 5: to close Ivard & Jackie watched T.V. I got awfully sick & Ivard called in & laid me off.

Dale did substute paper route

breezy, cloudy, sunny

I got up & fixed a nice breakfast so we could all eat together for once & Ray left for work with out eating, went half hr. early with Edith. Jerry & Dean were supposed to come & take him to work & they didn't dome until we were all through & everything cold. I washed 2 batches of cloths & hung out & when Jerry got home from milk route he helped me grind & I made 13 pts of Indian relish & 22 little pots of pepper in freezer. Jerry went to store for me then went on milk paper route. Dean scrubbed. Dale went bumming all day & came home & took fit & locked himself in his room. Dean went up town & got music book & me a pr of Jeans. We ate rice pudding when Dean got home with Jerry & Ray. Jerry & Dean went to show. I went to bed at 8: mad.

I came home from work & went to bed & Ivard got me up at 12:30 and I got ready & Ivard took me up to Superior Western & I had my hair cut & tint. Ivard went & got Ray from work & took him home then came & got me & we got groc. & came home & I went back to get Jerry but he'd walked down to Lenord & got car & went on paper route I stoped at school & got Jackie & we came home & took Ray to work at 4:30 & I took Jackie to S.W & she had her hair cut & we went shopping. Came home at 6:30 & Dean had supper ready. Dale went to Hoggs after school & Jerry went & got him at 9: My nite off went to bed at 8:

Ray got home from Utah

I came home from work & Ray was home in bed. I read paper & went to bed. Jerry came home & took Ray to work for lunch hr & when they came home at 11:30 I got up. Ray worked on genelogy & I washed cloths made a desert for tomorrow & cooked supper & we ate when Jackie got home from Primary. Ray went to work at 5: to close. I took car up to him & my ride picked me up there. after supper I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivard went to Dr. at hospital

Dean got up early & took Jerry to work & brought car home & Ivard went to hospital to Therapy meeting I stoped off on way form work & got car & came home & we got ready & went back to hospital to the meeting of Doctors & nurses discussing Ivards case. I ask waht his trouble was & they said he had hardening of Arteries Ivard said that first he knew it too. Thats what caused clot & stroke. Got groc & came home at noon & had snack & I went to bed rest of day. Ivard went awhile.

I came home & went to bed & at 9:35 Jerry came with car but didn't get me up for Relief S.

I got up at 2:30 & washed a batch of cloths & Jerry hung them out while I run tomatoes through & Ray ground peppers & onions & I made spagetti sauce 11, qts. got supper & we ate before Ray went to work at 5:, Jerry took him then at 7:30 went & took him to catch train for S.L.

Dean didn't come came home from school but went to Mutual Jerry & Dale & Dean went at 6:30 Ivard did dishes & washed bottles.

I went to bed at 8: until time to go to work.

Kids were home from Mutual & in bed when I left.

Monday, October 3, 1966

I came home from work & went to bed & got up at 2: & put a Kettle of Tomatoes on to cook for juice & washed a batch of cloths & hung out & at 3:30 Ray & I went up to Rail Road & mailed fathers Order in for a world book, cash order. then I paid P.FC & got me some  new socks for work & got $50. worth of groc., 6 cases of stuff dropped Ray off to work at D.Q 5: to close & went to school & got Dean & went got some more groc. came home & ate & Ivard had an appointment at Benders for World book I went to bed at 7:45.

I came home from work & changed all the beds & got everything washed up, 6 batches. Dean & Jerry stoped in in milk truc at 9:30 & I had breakfast ready, hot cakes, & they ate & Jerry took Ray to work at D.Q. 10: to 6: & finished his route. Dean stayed home & did work & listened to Conference Jerry came back & listened after he took Ray. Jackie scrubbed & cleaned both bath rooms, cleaned her room & did Dales last nite & morning dishes for enough money to go roller skateing at 1: with Dorene T. Dale cleaned his room & went collecting went to Garners & never got home until 10: I went to bed at 3: until time for work. Jerry - Ray & Dean went to conference & Cheryl stayed here while Gene went.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed. Kids woke me up at 1:30, when they came home from work so I got up & worked on books washed batch of cloths & listened to conference. Cheryl & Gene came all afternoon, his neck hurt too much to go to work. I took Ray to work at 4:30 for 5: to close & got Dean & went to bank & paid bills, came home & got supper & ate & Gene, Cheryl, Dale, Jackie & Ivard went up to Nampa foot ball game & Jerry & I went to bed. I couldn't sleep.

I took Ray car when I went to work & they picked me up at D.Q.

I came home from work & went to bed. Ivard was still in bed, didn't feel good. I got up at 1:30 & made 6 qts tomatoe spagetti sauce & got supper & we ate when Jerry got home from Paper route & Jackie  came from Primary. Ray didn't go to work until 6:30. They gave me a black Poodle, Ray, 2 boxes fancy candy, pen & filler, a watch on chain, Jerry & box of all accasion cards & my Xmas order marked Pd in full, Dale and a fancy cake with rose. Gene & Cheryl came & ate. While we were eating floral brought 2 big  boquets, one from Jerry & one from Gail, Lyle & Kay went to bed till time for work

I came home & went to bed but it was 11: before I got to sleep. I was cold & Ivard was in bed & Ray made noise.

Jerry & Ray woke me up at 2: to open my birthday present from mother, a pr of garments. I got up & washed 2 batches of cloths & hung out, cooked supper got sock batche turned & paired to put away & cooked a Kettle of tomatoes for juice. Jerry did Lenords evening paper route & Ray rode over on bike & got car & Ivard took Dale to dentist & brought Dean home at 5: Dean & Dale went to Piano L. I went to bed until time for work. Jerry went to see Alice.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed & just got to sleep when Jerry called & said he'd bring car home to get ready so I got up & Ivard took me up to church to relief Society opening Social. real nice lunchon & Programme.

Jerry came & got me at 1:30 & we picked Ray up at D.Q & came home & I went to bed. they woke me up a couple of times but I stayed in bed until time to go to work.

Jerry & Dean went to Mutual. Dale went to Hoggs after school & went from there. Ray was to work I took Ray the car at 10:50 & my ride Picked me up at D.Q.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed. I woke up at 1:30 & Ivard & I played Scrabble then Ray & Jerry came & Ray played a game with us & they watched show & I made a cake & got supper & we ate when Kids got home from school

Jerry got ready & took Ray to work at D.Q. 5:00 to close on his way to get Alice Gould & they went to Boise Dean did dishes & Ivard & I emptied Jerry piggy bank for him & counted it. I checked it for my collection

Dale went home teaching

I went to bed at 6:45 till time for work.

I bottled 10 pts mustard pickle, washed 2 batches of cloths & hung out & finished my iorning. 41 pieces. cooked roast & made whipped jello & we ate at 6: when Ray got home from work, Jerry went after him. Dean got home at same time from Pocotello. Ivard watched ball game & had nap. Jerry went to meeting at 2: & slept all afternoon. Ray took father, Dean, Jerry & Dale to church early & came home & had nap & him & Jackie went I washed my hair had bath & went to bed until time fr work. washed sock batch

I got up & fixed another batch of mustard pickle in brine to do tomorrow & cooked a batch, 12 pints. Jackie cleaned house.

Jerry came home from milk route & took D.Q. truck out then did Lenards Paper route. Ray worked 10: to 6: Ivard & I got him when we went to store. I washed 5 batches of cloths & iorned 37 pieces - so tired.
