Wednesday, November 30, 1960

I got in Salt Lake at 7:30 A.M & called Ruth & Ray but they were already to work so I called Ruth C. & she xame & got me & we visited awhile & I changed & at 10:30 she took me up to Bountiful Mortuary & I met Mother & them. We stayed there until 11:45 then went to Bountiful 4th Ward to Aunt Pearl Batt Hulse's funeral, they are takeing her to Rigby to bury tomorrow. We went back to mortuary awhile then up to my cousin Beth Hulse Pearce & ate then Ken, Bern. & Moother took me down to Ruths & I changed & they droped me off at Deseret Book store on their way home to Grantsville at 5:, I bought a few things, went & had a malt & walked 4 blocks down to U.P. Station & got a mag. & read until 7:30 P.M. when I cought train for home.

Gene & Ray went to party of 5th & 2nd ward Priesthood - Ivard worked at Boise.

Tuesday, November 29, 1960

I went to Salt Lake on train

Hard cold wind -

I had a big bump on back tire when I came out of work I decided it wasn't good any way so I'd drive until it blew out & not change it, I got clear home & Ivard was home & in bed so I got him up & he took Kids to school & changed my tire.

I got ready & Jackie & I went in to relief society conference & work day. droped Jerry off at unemployment office, he didn't find any work. Picked Mrs Perks up. Had good dinner

Came home at 1:30 & went to bed until 5:30. Ivard went to town at 3: & got me a pass & watched Gene practice & brought him home. Jerry had supper ready & we ate & Gene did chores & Ivard took him & Ray to Caldwell to play ball & Jerry went to Effie's & Ralphs.

I had bath & packed bag & drove pick up in & cought 8:30 traine for Salt Lake. Ivard got pick up after game & went to Boise to work

Monday, November 28, 1960

sent mother a letter

real frosty this morning, could hardly scrape it off car window

sunny all day.

I came home from work & Jerry took Kids to school & I read paper & went to bed at 9:30 & never got up until 4:

Jerry changed beds & did the washing & made some cranberry sauce & cranberry bread.

Ivard picked corn all day, isn't done yet, had to fix picker half the time.

I went to town after Gene at 5: & Jerry rode in with me. He had supper ready & we ate when we got home & I laid down until Gene did chores then I took Gene - Ray & Dean to Mutual & Ivard went to bed.

Court of Honor & Dean pinned 2nd class badge on me. Came home & laid down a hr & went to work. Ivard left for Boise at 10:30.

Sunday, November 27, 1960

mother called

sunny & windy

Ivard had to go to work at 7: A.M.

Kids ate, & Gene, Ray, Dean & Dale went to priesthood & sunday school. Dean went to Allens all day.

I got books up and washed my hair.

I made turkey soup for supper & we ate when Ivard & Kids got home.

I wrote to mother and read a story continued in 2 Goodhousekeep

Ivard & Kids all went to church & I went to bed.

Ivard brought Kids home. Dean, Dale & Jackie & they went to bed and he went to Fire Side with big Kids at Bice's, Jerry had to tlak.

Mother called about 10: from Idaho Falls to say Aunt Pearl died, Mother sold her place. Ivard & Kids came at 11: I went back to work at 12:30 tonite.

Saturday, November 26, 1960

I got up at 5: A.M & fixed Kay a lunch & took him in to catch the bus for Rexburg. He had to be back for conference to be interviewed by general athority. The bus was an hr. late. When I got home Ivard had gone to work.

I washed cloths & finished my big iorning & patched for an hr. Ivard got home early & unloaded a load of corn. Gene went to practice at 10: A.M & Jerry & Ray went selling Rays Xmas centerpieces then Ray came home & made 3 more & went & sold them. We ate & I laid down with Jackie at 6:30 & went to sleep & never woke up until midnite Gene worked for Wally from noon until 7:30 then he went to Junior Gold & Green ball with John, he took our car in to his place, he took Julie Rhodes, Jerry bought him his corsage this morning. he got home at 12:30.

Friday, November 25, 1960

I put a turkey in over & washed & iorned all morning.

Ivard had to be at Small claims court at 10: about a bill we owe co-op. so Kay droped him off & Gene off to basketball practice & he went to hospital & had a blood test to go on mission. Ray went selling the Xmas centerpieces he makes & Jerry went shopping. Dean made cranberry Jello salad & I made dressing & cooked yams & when the guys came home Ivard picked corn & Jerry, Kay, Dean & I went to Caldwell & got milk check & got a shower present & groc. Came home & ate our Thanksgiving dinner & Ivard & I, Jerry & Kay went over to Nyssa Stake House to Pete Bryce & Mair Bair's wedding reception had fun dancing. got home at 1: A.M Ray went to ball practice. Ivard didn't work.

Thursday, November 24, 1960

Hard, cold, dusty wind & cloudy.

Ivard came from work at 6:30 & came to bed. I got up at 8: & made biscuits & cooked eggs & had grapefruit & we ate when Gene got chores done. Kay took Gene in to ball practice at 9:45 & he went over to Caldwell to be interviewed by President Isin for mission.

I washed some cloths & Ivard cut all the Kids hair.

When Kay & Gene got home at noon we all got ready & went over to Gails to Thanksgiving dinner, Turkey & all the trimmings - sure good. The Blanch's were there too, 19 of us.

We came home at 5:30 because Gene had to milk Wally's cows.

We watched T.V. & ate pie.

Ivard didn't work today.

We went to bed early.

Wednesday, November 23, 1960

I'm off until Sunday nite.

I came home from work & Kay took Kids to school & I hurried & made 5 pumpkin pies & Kay took 2 of them to school for Kids Thanksgiving dinner.

Gene didn't go to school, he picked a load of corn.

Ivard fried oysters & him, Kay & Gene ate & Kay took Gene in to ball practice & they got groc. Ivard, Jackie watched T.V. & I went to bed until 6:

Jerry rode up from Utah with Verl Cleverly & Kay & Kids went in & picked him up at 6:

We ate pie & watched T.V.

Ivard went to work for 11:

Ivard killed & clean a turkey & cut Kays hair.

They had waffel supper before I woke up.

Tuesday, November 22, 1960

Kay called at 10: & I went out by Kings & got him.

I came home from work & took Kids to school. Ivard was already home & out doing beets. I made some tea & got ready & Jackie & went to relief society. We got groc. & came home at 12:30 & went to bed at 1:.

They were through with beets when we got home & Ivard was in with last load. They didn't do very good, too weedy. Ivard came home at 2:30 & came to bed.

We got up at 4:30 when Ray got home from school & he got supper & Ivard & I went & got Gene from first basketball practice & went & picked up church teams suits

We ate & they did chores & I went to bed & Ivard - Gene & Ray went to Caldwell to play ball. I went to work at 11:

Monday, November 21, 1960

I came home from work & took Dean to school. Dale was sick & didn't go

Sunny & windy,  & Gene stayed home from school & him & Ivard helped get our beets out.

I gathered up cloths & washed 4 batches. Made some tea & got dinner & Jackie & I went to bed at 1:30. I woke up at 4:30 when Ray came & got my books up. & he helped me make my bed. He got supper & we ate when they came in from beets.

Ivard - Gene, Ray & Dean went to Mutual & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Sunday, November 20, 1960

hard wind all day.

I came home from work & went to bed. Ivard took Kids to sunday school & I got up & made tea & washed some cloths, went to bed at 11:30 & woke up at 2:45 & got up & Gail & Lynda had brought Gene home. Ray had made hambergers & Ivard said to bring his in & I told him no one was going to eat in on rug because it wouldn't stand another scrubbing. He got mad & said I could go to Hell. he didn't give a dam, right in front of Kids. I got made & slamed door & went back to bed & bawled myself to sleep. Ivard left for work at 3:10 & Gail went home too.

Dale brought Butler kid home. I got up all afternoon & Jackie & I went to bed when Kids went to church. Ivard got home just before I went to work.

Saturday, November 19, 1960

I came home from work & went to bed.

Ivard picked a little corn & Wally came & beet some tops off beets but they didn't haul any because there was no one to drive truck. Ivard watched ball game & went to work at 3:

I got up in afternoon & helped Ray scrub front room rug & move all the furniture around & I made the Kids a Kettle of soup for supper. Washed rugs & things.

Ivard called from work & we talked awhile.

We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work & Ray took Kids & went to school Karnival & opening of new Scism lunch room building. He won cake.

Friday, November 18, 1960

I came home from work & Ivard was to work. Ray didn't go to school. He helped me & I made 4 appled pies, & 8 cinnamon rolls & he poped corn & we baged up 6 bags of carmel corn & 11 of green mother goose corn & got it all ready to take to bizzar then I went to bed for 1 1/2 hrs then got ready & at 4: Ray, Jackie, & I took stuff in to church to bizzar & Ray stayed to help. I bought some cookies & brownies & 2 loaves of bread & some clover leaf rolls & some sewing items for Xmas & Jackie & I came home & Ivard did chores & took Kids in to church & they ate & saw show & had fish pond. I went to bed until time to go to work.

Thursday, November 17, 1960

Gene stayed over to Gails after game

I came home from work & passed Ivard going in to town to his rules test, He'd come home from work & ate & got Kids up.

I took Kids to school & ready paper, made some tea & washed a batch of cloths & made a batch of cookies for bizzar tomorrow.

They came to do beets but still too wet.

Cloudy most of day & windy

Ivard came home at noon & I went to bed at 12:30 & got up at 2: & Jackie & I went in to bank, Paid some bills, got groc. & left Jackie at Primary. Ivard followed us in to work.

Gene did chores & him, Ray & I ate & They went to Nyssa to play Gails team basket ball & I went to bed. When Dean, Dale & Jackie came from Primary Dean fixed them something to eat.

Wednesday, November 16, 1960

got card from Jerry

cloudy but not very cold.

I came home from work & had to take little Kids & Ray to school. Ivard was already home & in bed. I washed 3 batches of cloths & made me some tea & swept & cleaned up Kitchen washed my hair & read paper & story in "Cosmopolitan".

Mrs Schroll came selling Avon for about an hr. & I bought $17. worth for Xmas.

Ivard got up & ate & we all went to bed at 1:30 then he woke me up at 3:, he had to go to work. I got supper on & went & got Kids. Gene & Ray came home 1/2 hr. early.

I had a bath & we ate & Gene did chores & him & Ray went ward teaching & I went to bed until time to go to work.

First Snow storm

Ray went ward teaching

I came home from work & Ivard took Kids to school while I got ready & we went to town & got his check & went to bank & paid some bills then Jackie & I went to relief society & Ivard went & fixed out gas tax refund, had hair cut & paid lites & phone & got me some stamps. He came & picked us up & we came home after we got groc. It snowed hard all morning & most of afternoon but melted tonite. Ivard & I & Jackie went to bed at 1:30 & Ivard got up & went after Kids

Ivard laid off & went to Father & Sons foot ball banquet. He marked up when he got home & had to go to work at 11:30. I had to push him. I stayed in bed until time to go to work.

Monday, November 14, 1960

I came home & Ivard was already home, he took Kids to school then went to bed. I made some tea & pop corn & washed the bedding & read a book length novel in Cosmopolitan.

Ivard got up at 1:30 & ate & Jackie & I went to bed with him. He went after Kids

I got up at 4:30 & got supper.

Ray did dishes. Dean put cloths away.

Cloudy & cold wind.

Gene did chores & took Ray & Dean to Mutual.

I went to bed until time to go to work. (at 6:)

I got books up.

Ivard came to bed too & I went to work. He didn't work today.

Sunday, November 13, 1960

Wrote Lyle 14 page letter

Ivard did chores & Ray took Kids & went to priesthood & sunday school.

Ivard & I went to bed.

I got up at noon & got dinner. Ray brought Roger home.

This afternoon I made some no-bake cookies & Ray made some cracker-Jack pop corn.

Kids went to church & Ivard, Jackie & I went to bed until 11:30 & we both went to work. I didn't have to be there until 12:30.

Jerry was supposed to be home but didn't come.

I wrote Lyle all afternoon.

Saturday, November 12, 1960

Ivard got bumped & is now on extra board.

Ray cleaned house & I washed 6 batches & did a huge basket of iorning all but about 8 pieces, I iorned all day. windy & I got overalls dry out side

It really rained all evening & most of nite.

Ivard went to work at 3:30.

At 6:30 I took Gene in to John's to stay all nite & go to Stake dance. I went to show "Psyco" pretty good. Came home at 10:30 & Ivard was already home.

Friday, November 11, 1960

My & Ivards nite off.

I came home from work & read paper & ate & went to bed awhile with Ivard.

Kids took Dean selling Xmas cards & Jerry borrowed his money & went to Utah about 2: with Ralph Shy & Effie.

I got up at noon & Ivard & I went to Caldwell to last foot ball game of Season. Nampa won 27 to 6. It was real cloudy but didn't rain until tonite & it really poured.

Gail was to game & went home & got Lynda & Kids & came over & Ray tended Kids & we went bowling. Ivard & I won both games & didn't have to pay. They went home & Ivard & Kids went to bed. I watched T.V. until 1: A.M.

Thursday, November 10, 1960

I came home from work & Ivard was already home & in bed. I read paper & went to bed at 9:30. I got up at 3: & took Jackie in to Primary & picked Gene up & we got groc.

Jerry had supper ready & we ate when Kids came.

cloudy most of day. Put a big pot of beans in oven to bake all nite.

Ivard & I went over to Bishop Madison's to genelogy meeting. Gene & Ray droped us off & went to basket ball practice. Came home at 9:30 & laid down until time to go to work.

Kennedy got president of U.S, demo.

Colder this morning sunny today I came home & Ivard was already home & in bed. I made me some pop corn & read paper & went to bed. Jerry woke me up at 3:15 & thought it was 4:15, so I laid in bed awhile then got up & made biscuits for his meat pie then I went in & got Gene from practice & took him to Wallys to get paid.

We ate & Gene took Jerry over to Nyssa to speak in their Speech festival

Ray milked & Dean did dishes.

I got books up & went to bed at 6:30 until time to go to work. I'm getting a cold. Ivard went to bed until time to go to work too.

Tuesday, November 8, 1960

I came home from work & Ivard was home & in bed. There wasn't any water so I got him up & while I got ready he took pump motor off & I took it to town to be fixed & went to relief society work day. I made a rose corsage for bizzar. We had a real good dinner. I got motor & came home & went to bed at 1:30 & Ivard fixed pump. I got up at 4:15 & went to town & got Gene from practice

Jerry had supper ready & we ate & got ready & at 6:30 Ivard & I went over to Homedale church to Stake genelogy Turkey banquet. It was sure good. We got home at 10:15 I laid down 1/2 hr. & went to work at 11: Ivard left about 10:45.

Still raining this morning, cloudy most of day.

I came home & Ivard was already home & had taken Kids to school & gone to see about beets, too wet. He came home & we went to bed at 9: & got up at 3:

Jerry washed & cooked supper. Ivard went & got Kids & Dean & I went in & got feed & groc. I went to Kotters for half hr, she gave me a loaf of hot whole wheat bread for supper. We got Gene from practice & came home & ate & I worked on books.

Sunday, November 6, 1960

I came home from work & went to bed. Gene & Ray went to a meeting before priesthood. Ivard - Jerry & little Kids went to priesthood & sunday school. Dean went to Perrys after sunday school & Gene brought John home & they went hunting & Ray went delivering fast offerings.

Jerry cooked dinner.

I ate & worked on books

Cloudy all day & rained this afternoon and all nite, a light drizzle.

Kids went to church & Ivard, Jackie & I went to bed until time to go to work

Saturday, November 5, 1960

I got up at 8: & fed guys. Ivard didn't do beets today. He watched game & fixed car & water & drain. Gene did out ends of beets.

Ray & Dean cleaned bed rooms & changed mine & theirs around.

I changed all the beds & washed all day - breezy & sunny & nice, got them all day. I cooked supper & patched all afternoon.

We ate & I went to bed at 6:30 but never did get to sleep Kids came in then Gail Lynda & Kids brought Jerry home & it was so noisy.

Ivards ntie off. I went to work at 11: Gail went home at 10: Ray made pop corn & had mess all over.

Friday, November 4, 1960

Got note from Kay

Gene got home after game right behind us. We took Roger Kotter.

I got up & helped get Kids off to school. Ivard came home a little early & came to bed awhile then he went to do beets & took Kids to school. I did 6 qts cauliflower & put in freezer & Jerry made a German choclate cake & I frosted it then at 1: Jerry, Jackie, & I went to Caldwell & took our 7 Gold Strike books & 6 green stamp book & got Xmas for Kids. Put my dimes in bank. took Jackie to see toys in Sears & drug Store. Came home & made potatoe soup & ate, Ivard came early. Gene did chores & went in to game, beat Boise 22. to 6. The rest of us went over to Owyhee ward to home comeing party & programe on Jerry. Ivard & I had to talk. Ivards nite off & I laid off. We got home at 11:, Jerry stayed over to Effies & Ralphs.

Thursday, November 3, 1960

I came home from work & Ivard was home & gone to do beets took Kids to school.

I ate & read paper & went to bed. Kids got home at 1:30, teacher meeting - Dean & Dale.

I got up at 2:15 & took Kids & went in & got groc. & went to bank then took Kids to Primary. stoped & paid for having Pick-up fixed and Ray came over & rode home with me.

Kids came home with Barlows Jackie took her birthday pennys

Jerry got supper & we ate when Ivard came. We went to bed at 7:30, I felt so bad I had Ray call in & lay me off. Ivard went to work at Boise at 10:30.

Wednesday, November 2, 1960

I came home from work & Ivard was home & laying down. He took car & took Kids to school & went to do beets he got home at 6:50.

Jerry & I had a malted milk & I took pick-up in to service station to have brakes fixed, new master cilinder Kit. THey let me take a pick-up to come home in & I went in at 5:30 & got ours & picked up Gene & neighbor from ball practice. I went to bed at 10:30 & got up at 4:30.

Jerry fixed supper & we ate when Ivard came. We went to bed until time to go to work.

Tuesday, November 1, 1960

I came home from work & Ivard had come home & gone to do beets & taken Kids to school.

Jerry & I had a malted milk & Jackie & I went to relief society then we went to bank & I started me a new Pioneer checking account. Paid bills then we went & had car flushed out again & got anti-freeze in. Came home at 3:30 & ad a malt & went to bed until 5:30 then I went in & got Gene from ball practice. Ivard got home at 7: & we ate & we went to bed until time to go to work.

Jerry washed & cooked supper.
