Tuesday, March 31, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard & Jackie had chores done & passed me up on corner on way over to Brysons to see about getting liquid fertilizer put on. Came back & we went & got Ivards check & paid car & got a load of seed graine. came home & Jackie & I went to bed and Ivard planted 5 acres of mixed graine and 6 acres of wheat. when kids came from school they measured off beet ground. I got up & got supper & we ate & Ray milked so Ivard could finish & I went to bed.

Monday, March 30, 1959

rained all night.

I came home from work & Ivard was just leaving, had to be at sugar factory at 8:30.

I went to bed & Gene tended Jackie & Kay went over to the old place & got load of hay (Smyths) I got up at noon & took Jackie to bed for her nap. Got up at 3:30 & washed 2 batches of clothes. Kay went & got kids & Ray got supper.

cloudy & rained all morning on & off.

We ate at 6:30 & Ivard still hadn't come so Kay - Gene & I went to Nampa in Pick-up & found car in front of "Stockman" so we took it & I took kids to Adrian came back at 8: & Ivard was still there playing cards. I went in & got him & he followed me home. I went to bed & he helped Ray finish up chores & he went to bed. Went to work at 11: Ivards night off.

Sunday, March 29, 1959

Ivard did chores & Kay went over to Owyhee to sunday school & Petersons for dinner, got home at 10:30. Gene was in bed sick all day again.

No one else but Kay went to church

I worked on income tax all day.

We ate dinner at 2: picnic, potatoe salad, chips, stuffed eggs, olives stuffed celery, sweet pickles, punch & peach short cake.

Ivard left for work at 2:45 & me & Jackie went to bed at 7: & Ray did chores.

Ivard got home early tonight

Ivard milked & I made waffles & we ate.

Gene sick in bed all day.

We ate dinner and Ivard took a cow to Caldwell sale & went on to work at 3:

It rained hard all afternoon & evening. Kay & I took Ray over to scout masters to pass his morse code. brought him home & Kay & I went to Caldwell & got cow check & got groc. came home & got kids to bed & I went to bed early.

Ivard hadn't come home at 1: A.M so I went to Nampa & passed him just comeing out. He'd been to Stockman playing cards & lost $7.

sent Jerry a letter

I don't feel good I'm sure glad we are home for 2 nights. came home & went to bed.

Gene milked & went to bed sick.

This afternoon Ivard & I went to sugar factory to see about beets, too late to catch field man got feed & Ivard went to Implement place to see about corrigators & while he was there I wrote Jerry a 10 page letter & we mailed it.

came home & Ray had house all cleaned & waxed.

got supper & ate & Ivard went to bed & Jackie & I. I got up at 11:30 when Ivard went to work & undressed & went to bed I was just going to lay down & get Jackie to sleep.

Ivard harrowed & worked ground all day.

Thursday, March 26, 1959

sent Jerry's money & Dean & Dale sent him a letter

I came home from work & took kids to school. Ivard was home & had chores about done. We ate & took Jackie to bed with us.

Ivard got up at 1: & finished plowing. I got up at 1:30 and put meat on & peeled carrots then at 2:30 Ivard & Jackie left for Caldwell & bank & out to Adrian after kids & load of hay.

Spring vacation Friday & Monday for Kay & Gene & Friday for little kids. sent Jerrys money.

I went back to bed at 2:30 & got up at 3:45 & went after kids. Came home & put potatoes on & washed 2 batches & got books up & Ray made a cake.

Ivard got home with kids & load of hay at dark & we ate & Gene did chores. Went to bed until time to go to work.

Wednesday, March 25, 1959

Came home from work & took Dale to school. Ivard was home & doing chores. We ate & read paper & Ivard went to bed until 11:30 & I washed a batch of clothes & hung out & tended Jackie then we went to bed & Ivard went out & plowed.

Nice day.

I got up at 3:30 & went after kids. Came home & got clothes in & got books up & we ate at 5:45 & Ivard did chores & I went to bed.

Ivard took Ray to Mutual & got groc. & bumed around until he was ready to come home he slept an hr. before he went to work & I went at 11:

Ray stayed up & colored easter eggs for school so he could wake Ivard up.

I came home from work & took Ray to school. Ivard was home and about through chores. We ate & Ivard tended Jackie and I went to bed. He came to bed at 2:30 & I got up & washed 3 batches of clothes & got supper & went & got kids & we ate when we got home.

Ivard plowed from 4: until 6: I had a bath & Ray milked and at 7: Ivard & I went over to Metcalf's silver Wedding Anniversary party. We took a silver top cake server. had nice lunch. not many showed up. came home at 10: & laid down for an hr. & went to work at 11: Ivard went to work at 11:45.

Monday, March 23, 1959

Rained during night. and some today. I came home from work and got ready and Jackie and I went to Caldwell to bank & drug store & got me a cake saver & one for Metcalf's 25th Silver Wedding with green stamps, Went to dairy & got icecream, pads, cheese, & buttermilk powder. Came home at noon & Jackie & I went to bed. Ivard had chores done & plowed until he ran out of gas, gas guy came when we were eating supper. I got up at 3:30 & got supper & Ivard went after the kids & we ate when they got home.

I got books up. Jackie feel & hurt her mouth & Ray & I took her in to hospital to let Dr. Ross look at it he said it would be OK. It was 7:30 time we got home. laid down until time to go to work had to get certificate for Dale to go back to school.

Sunday, March 22, 1959

Ivard came in & got me from work & we came home & Kay & Gene went to priesthood & sunday school. I went to bed & Ivard & Dale went to sunday school in pick-up so they could push car if it didn't start, it didn't. Ray & Dean stayed in bed, didn't feel good & they tended Jackie. I got up when guys came home & fixed dinner & we ate & at 5:30 Ivard & I took Kay & Gene back over to Adrian then got the rest of our turkeys.

Rained on us all way to Adrian.

Had root beer & got some icecream & cookies & came home & ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivards night off

I came home from work & Ivard was home from work doing chores. he had pick-up trouble in Caldwell yesterday & was until 10: P.M before they got it fixed so he stayed in to work.

I went to bed & Ivard went to Adrian & got kids, stoped at Dobbs & tried out a pick-up & brought home a load of hay then they took it back & took 2 heifers to sale in ours.

I got supper & we ate when they got home at 5: then Gene did chores & Ivard & I went to Caldwell & got check for heifers & a few groc. Came home at 7: & Ivard, Kay & Gene took off for Nampa & ball tournment. Rained hard on us & had to buy new wind shield wipers. I went to bed & at 10:45 Ivard called, couldn't start car so I went in pick up & went to work & they pushed car & started it & brought them both home.

Friday, March 20, 1959

Ray got letter from Barbra & she has a job so they won't be up.

I came home from work & Ivard was home doing chores. I ate & went to bed and Ivard tended Jackie. He put her to bed at noon with me & left for Adrian to watch kids play ball & bring them home. I got up in afternoon & washed & got supper ready & at 8: Ivard called & told Ray to milk that he had pick-up trouble & it wasn't fixed yet so we ate & Ray milked & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivard never did get home it was 10: when they got pick-up fixed so he went to work & slept in shack until time for work. he never did get to Adrian car broke in Caldwell.

I left for work at 11:05.

Thursday, March 19, 1959

I came home from work & took Ray to school & brought Dale home the principal was just going to bring him - said to keep him home until scabs were all gone. Ivard was home & doing chores.

We went to bed & Dale tended Jackie. got up about 2:30 & washed 3 batches of clothes & got supper and we ate as soon as kids got home.

Cold - snow flurries this morning

got books up & fixed Jerrys income tax.

Ivard fixed kids bed & dresser & changed it around.

We ate & Ivard did chores & we went to bed until time to go to work.

Wednesday, March 18, 1959

I came home from work & ate & when Ivard finished chores we went to bed & Dale tended Jackie.

We got up at 2: & went over to get a load of hay. took Dale & Jackie & had icecream cone. got home at 5: and Ray fixed supper & we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work. I don't feel good Ivard did chores & Ray did up the work & Ivard took Ray in to Mutual & he bumed around. Came home at 9:30 & went to bed.

Ivard got up when I left for work so he could go to work.

Bixby took us to see her house on way home. Came home & Ivard was home & had chores done. We ate & went to bed at 10: & Dale tended Jackie. got up at 1: & made kids a milk shake, put stew meat on & got veg. ready & cleaned. got Jackie to sleep & went & got kids from school then Ivard & I went to Nampa & got pick-up tire, went to Post office, upholster's & Dobbs came home & they brought davenport out we had recoverd. We ate & Ivard did chores I got books up & went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work.

I came home from work & Ivard had chores done. We ate & Dale was a lot better so we left him & Jackie & went to Nampa & got Ivards check & pd. pick-up & went to Caldwell to bank & to see about beet acrage & to P.C.A. about seed loan. Came home & at 1: & Jackie & I went to bed. got up at 3:45 & worked on my books & Ray got supper & we ate & Ivard did chores. He worked ground this afternoon.

I went back to bed at 7: until time to go to work.

Ivard went to bed early he went back to work tonight too.

Gene did chores & they ate & Ivard, Kay, Gene & Ray went to Priesthood & sunday school.

I put roast on, peeled potatoes & carrots & made no-bake cookies & iorned until they got home. Gail, Lynda Debbie & Lynda's 2 little brothers came over & we ate dinner.

They went home about 5: & took Kay & Gene back to Adrian to Ad's. Ivard & I had a nap & then he did chores & I finished iorning, had a bath & went to bed until time to go to work.

Gene did chores & I got breakfast, cooked bacon & eggs & fixed grapefruit.

I washed clothes & iorned awhile & at 1: Ivard, Gene, Dean & I went to Caldwell & got Dean new shoes then went to Adrian & got Kay & tried to catch turkeys but they flew. got rest of chickens.

Came home & iorned, Ray had work done. Ray got supper & we ate & when Gene got chores does Ivard & I, Kay & Gene went to Nampa to show "Rally Around the Flag" & another one had sundee after

Came home from work & went to bed until noon then Ivard & Jackie went to bed & at 12:30 I went to school & got Ray & another kid & took them to Nampa to Central Junior High to register for next year. while I waited I got groc. & feed & started to write to Mother. It blew hard & was really snowing when we came out at 3: & waited for Dean. brought kids home & Ivard & I went to Adrian & got Gene & a load of hay.

Ate & gene did chores & Ivard & I went to bed.

My night off. Ivard went to work at 11:45.

Thursday, March 12, 1959

Dale came home with Chicken Pox.

I came home from work & kids had walked up & rode to school with cook. Ivard was home milking. We ate & went to Caldwell & put my check in bank & got milk check & 2 1/2 gal. of icecream & groc. came home & went to bed at noon & Ivard & Jackie had a bath & came to bed. got up at 3:30 & Ivard tried to disk but old disk is wore out. I cleaned up & washed 2 batches of clothes, worked on books & dampened clothes & Ray got supper.

Dale came home covered with chicken pox I met them up at corner. Hales brought out new vacume.

ate & went to bed until time to go to work.

Wednesday, March 11, 1959

I came home from work & took kids to school & Ivard was home doing chores. We ate & Ivard went to bed & I cleaned up & washed clothes & put socks away.

I went to bed at 1: with Jackie. Ivard got up at 2: & went to Nampa & Meridian looking at machinery. He got home at 5:30 & did chores.

Kids walked home from school & Ray got supper I felt so bad. We ate after Ivard did chores & we went to bed until time to go to work.

Guy came this morning & we got $10,000. fire Ins. on place.

Came home from work & Ivard was home milking I took kids to school & we ate & at 10:30 Ivard, Jackie & I went to bed.

got up at 2:30 & Ivard gave me a rub down, I sure had a bad stomach ache.

I came home from work & took kids to school & we ate & I went to bed & Ivard & Jackie went to Nampa & got a switch & fixed the deep freeze plug in in the shed. they came to bed at 2:30 & at 3:30 I got up & went after kids. came home & Ivard & I went to Nampa & got feed & Ivard brought tractor home he took in Sat. to be fixed. I got groc. & gas & came home & made scalloped potatoes & ham & Ray made cookies. We ate after Ivard did chores. I washed a big batch of clothes & got books up & Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work. hailed tonight & ground was white.

I came home from work & we all went to Priesthood & sunday school at Nampa 2nd ward but Kay & he forgot to bring his clothes home.

We got groc. & icecream & came home & Gail, Lynda & Debbie were here. We fixed dinner & ate & visited until 4:30 & they went home & took Kay & Gene back to Adrian for week. I went to bed at 5: & Ivard did chores & at 7: they brought Jackie to bed & Ivard & all the Kids went over to old place & got chickens & 3 of the Turkeys.

got letter from Mother & Berniece

Ivard was waiting for me at Albertsons when Sylvia let me out. Came home & we went right to bed. Gene milked. Ivard got up at 10:30 & I never even heard him, & him Kay, Gene & Ray went over to old place & hauled the rest of machinery on B&M truck & kids brought pick-up load of hay.

I got up at noon & took Jackie to bed with me & never knew when she got up.

I got up at 4: & made fruit cocktail & fixed supper & we ate when I came back from Nampa from picking Ivard up after he took truck back. Gene milked.

Ivard & Jackie bathed & we went to bed early. Kay went to Caldwell bowling with letterman club & I went to work at 11: when he got home. Ivards night off.

got letter from Jerry

I came home from work & Ivard was home milking. I took kids to school & washed a batch of clothes and worked on books & mailed a bunch of letters to bills. Ivard went to Nampa & Caldwell to see about getting sugar beet acrage & Ins. on place. He came home & at 12:45 we went to bed. got up at 3:30 & I went & got kids & field man came to see why we got milk back again. At 4:30 Ivard & Jackie went to Adrian to get Kay and Gene and ring back a load of hay.

I cooked supper, hambergers with mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes, spring salad, dressing. We ate & Gene did chores & Ivard & Kay went to Caldwell to basketball games, Nampa-Caldwell. I went to bed until time to go to work.

I stoped in office & drew out $225. out of credit U. savings

I came home from work & Ivard was home milking. I took kids to school & me, Ivard & Jackie ate & at 10:30 we went to bed after I washed 2 batches of blankets and hung them out.

We got up at 1:30 & got kids no school, teachers meeting. Ivard, Jackie & I went to Nampa & paid car, baler & pick-up & went over & got Duaines trailer at Kartue junction & went to Caldwell to bank then took pick-up home & got a load of hay. stoped in Caldwell & got groc. & had root beer. came home & Ray & kids had car washed, house cleaned up & some more clothes washed & potatoes on. I cooked pork chops & got supper while Ivard milked. We ate & at 8 Ivard went to bed. We got up at 11: & we went to work.

Wednesday, March 4, 1959

got letter from Barbra

got up & fixed breakfast & took kids to school & Ivard came home & milked. I washed clothes & when Ivard was done we went over to old place & Bishop had set stuff out & guys had moved in. we loaded up & Ivard loaded davenport alone, he was so mad at Bishop because he wouldn't let us have the boards we took out of closet, otherwise it would have been too heavy. We came home & unloaded & took 2 cows to sale at Kartue Junction & left Dwaines trailer there until tomorrow. droped davenport off to have recovered. got groc & came home & had waffles & Ivard milked & I went to Nampa & got end tables & went & got check for cows, only got 18. for Kays cow. came home & put legs on tables & went to bed. went back to work tonight.

We ate & I took kids to school. Ivard came home from work & milked & went to bed.

I changed all the beds & washed clothes all day went & got kids & Ray made beds & put clothes away.

We ate & Ivard milked early & we went to Nampa & paid job Ins. then went over to Adrian to Ad's for half hr. then we all went over to Owyhee ward to our farwell party. played games & ate & they gave us a pretty big picture. came home at 11:30 & Ivard went to work

Monday, March 2, 1959

Took Genes pig over to Ad's before we got hay. had hard time loading it.

We got up & ate & Ivard did chores & I took Kids over to first day at new school at Scism.

Ivard & Jackie went over to old place in pick-up & I followed in car. Ivard stoped at Art Jeromes to see if he could borrow money, didn't have any now. loaded up car & pick-up & came home & unloaded & I went & got Kids from school & I followed Ivard to Nampa & we got dairy feed in car & parked it & went over & got a load of hay after we went to upholserting place & saw about having old davenport redone. I drove car home & Ivard did chores & we ate. he went back to work after weeks vacation.

Sunday, March 1, 1959

finished iorning today.

Gene milked & Kay & Ray took off without him & went over to owyhee to sunday school & sacrament meeting. Ivard, Gene & I went over to other place and hauled another load of bottles, fruit and the dressers. Came home & cooked dinner & just as it was ready Ray Evelyn & kids came for little while then Mr & Mrs Bish came & showed us how to take care of flowers & stuff. We ate about 5: after they left.

Ivard milked and I took Kay & Gene over to Adds to stay week & go to school. came home at 9: & went to bed. I called up Vanda this morning & told her I'd come back to work but my cold was so bad in chest, Ivard called in & told her I wouldn't come.
