sent Jerry letter & money
got letter from Jerry

I came home from work & Ivard was allready home & in bed. I ate & went to bed and Ray woke us up at noon so Ivard & I got up & went in & paid bills & went to bank. I wrote Jerry a note & mailed with his money. We never had enough money to pay all our bills & it was one of Ivards biggest checks. had to pay 5 beet hoeing kids. We sure are in a mess. came home at 2: & went to bed & Gene went to foot ball practice. he came home at 6: & we ate & he did chores I was supposed to go to Dr. but didn't. We went to bed until time to go to work at 11:, I followed Ivard in.

Tuesday, August 30, 1960

I came home from work & ate & went to bed.

Ivard & Kids finished hauling hay & got water in beets. Gene & Ray cooked dinner & I got up & ate at 1:30

Ivard & Jackie & I went to bed at 2: but couldn't sleep. I got up at 3:30 when Jackie did & worked on my books.

Gene went to foot ball practice at 3:

I got up & finished Jackies pajamas tops all but buttons & button holes.

We went back to be & got up at 10:30 & got ready for work & Ivard followed me in.

Monday, August 29, 1960

Got letter from Jerry

Nice day. I came home & ate & sorted cloths & washed 4 batches & got my books up.

Ivard & Kids hauled hay.

Ivard & Gene went to Caldwell at 1: & got Calf milk & Ivard signed acre report for beets then Gene went to foot ball practice at 3: & Ivard went to work at 4:

I went to bed at 3: but was up every little while.

Ray took everything out of Genes bedroom & closet & washed woodwork & scrubbed & waxed fllor & he washed another batch of cloths. Gene came home & we ate & he did chores & him & Ray went to Mutual & left Ivard pick-up & came home with Max.

Sunday, August 28, 1960

I came home from work & ate & went to bed then Gene & Ray went to Priest hood. I got up at 11: & went to sunday school I finished reading Vol. I of Basic Course in Genelogy & gave it back.

Ray brought Roger home. stoped & got icecream. Came home & Ivard had beans picked & on to cook & potatoes on, I put roast on this morning I finished getting dinner & we ate & I read paper & went to bed at 4:, until time to go to work.

All the Kids went to church but Jackie & Ivard. Ray delivered fast offerings this afternoon

I went to work at 11:. Ivards nite off.

Saturday, August 27, 1960

Dean went to stay at Gails & Dale came home

I came home from work & read paper & ate & went to bed.

Cold & breezy.

Kids woke us up at 3:00 & Ray went in with Gene to foot ball practice & had a hair cut. at 4: we took Dean & Jackie & went to Dairy queen & had a sundee them we got gas & went over to Metcalf's & got a lug of tomatoes & a crate of cantalope; they said Lyle wasn't comeing up. We went over to Gails & Dean tended Kids & Gail & Lynda took us over to Ontario to ""East Side" cafe & bought our supper I had chow Meine. Gail lost bet he'd lose more weight than me. We got groc. Got home at 10: & I laid down until 11: & went to work. Ivard's nite off. Gene & Ray were to dance got home before I left.

Friday, August 26, 1960

Kay left for Salt Lake

I came home from work & Ivard was home & out baleing hay. I read paper & ate & went to bed at 9: at 10: Gene baled hay & Ivard came to bed. Kids woke us up at 3: Kay was just leaving to take Gene to football practice & send is luggage up to Rexburg. Ray said he took 2 of his shirts & Kay said he never. can't find them.

I made some lemonade & read "A Basic Course in Genelogy" Vol I.

Ray scrubbed & waxed Kitchen & cleaned front room & got supper Ivard went out & baled hay again

Gene got home at 9: & said he had waited for Kay to leave on traine for Salt Lake, never even told us good bye. Ivard & I went to work.

Thursday, August 25, 1960

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed. Ivard was home & inbed.

Kids woke us up at 12:30 fighting.

at 2: I got up & got ready & Ivard & I took Ray in to register & Gene stayed to foot ball practice for 4: We went to bank & Gene got his pants he bought & left to be hemmed. I took my last cent & bought baler twine.

Ray bought us a drink at Pac Out passed Kay comeing to town in pick up. He got mad at me before we left.

We got home at 4:30 & I went to bed. got up at 7: we all went in to church to our 1st anniv. ward reunion of 5th Ward. had a good supper. left pick up there & I took Ivard in to get it on way to work & he went to work.

Wednesday, August 24, 1960

I came home from work & ate & sorted cloths & read paper & went to bed with Ivard at 9:30. I got a cramp in foot & got up at noon & washed cloths got books up & made chilli. I iorned.

Kay & Gene went in & Gene got his physical at 9: then went to foot ball practice.

At 2: Gene & Ray went to town & Gene registered for school.

We were eating when Kids got home.

Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I left at 11: just as Ivard was getting up. I got up at 10:15 & had a bath.

Tuesday, August 23, 1960

Kay took Gene to practice & went to Cald

I came home from work & Ivard was home & he raked hay until noon then came to bed. I read paper & went to bed & Dean woke me up at 12:30 & I got up at 1: & got ready & we went & bought some cookies & went to Stake house to Stake Guide Skill show & programe. Deans class did the most. after we got $25. worth of groc. & came home at 4: & I cooked supper & Gail Lynda & Kids came & ate with us. They went home at 7:30 & Dale went with them for rest of week. I went to bed with Ivard at 8: until we had to go to work at 11:

Gene finished for Wally this morning.

Kay & Ray went up to Max's & got Paid.

Monday, August 22, 1960

Gene did Wallys chores

I came home from work & it was cloudy & cold so I went to bed. I got up at 1: & cut out a pr. of pajamas for Ray & Jackie & got Jackies half made.

Gene went to foot ball practice at 10: & took Dean in to Perks to practice & Ivard went them to see about a different job, he got bumped.

Kids came at 3: they'd walked up & got car, Ivard was in Stockman he went to work at 4: then doubled over at midnite.

I washed my bed & made it. Ray made some fancy twist rolls & got supper Gene went & did Wallys chores & him & Ray went to Mutual & left pick-up for Ivard & came home with Max I went to bed until time to go to work.

Sunday, August 21, 1960

I came home from work & had a bath & got ready & Ivard & I dashed in to church & met Atwell Perry & rode to Emmett with him to a genelogy 5 Stake convention. There Were 12 from our ward. first session was at 10: then we ate lunch with a bunch of guys from Owyhee Ward & at 1:30 went to afternoon session. we got back to Nampa at 4:30 & went & had a Cool. We came home & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Kay was pestering Ray just as we left & he jumbed out his bed room window. He went to Kotters after church & stayed all Day. Kay & Gene wet to priesthood & sunday school & Dean & Dale stayed home with Jackie. They all went at nite but Ivard & Jackie. Ivards nite off.

Saturday, August 20, 1960

got letter from Jerry & mailed him a letter & extra money tonite when I went to work.

Ivards nite off.

I came home from work & Ivard was home & watering. I read paper & ate & went to bed.

Ray cleaned house.

Ivard finished cutting hay

I got up at 1:30 & Kay Gene & I took Ray & got Roger Kotter after we went over to Wallys & got Gene's money. We went shopping & got Gene's cloths & I laid away some socks & overalls & got Dean & Dale each a pr. to start school. We went & had a cool & went to Park & drank it then we let Ray & Roger out to meet other Kids & got swimming for Rogers birthday. We came home & Ivard & I went to bed until 6:30 & Ivard did chores & when Gene got home from doing Wallys chores we went to town & got a special delivery letter from Jerry, gas & groc. & met Ray & brought him home.

Friday, August 19, 1960

I came home from work & washed my pickles & put them to soak in cold water. I went to bed at 10: & got up at 1: & Ivard took Gene & Dale in to Dr. Daynes. I got Jackie to bed with me & read a story then went to sleep. Dean did dishes.

Kay & Ray worked for Max & came home for dinner.

Ivard cut hay, half of the seed the bugs had wrecked.

I got up at 4: & put syrup on pickles & cooked supper made stuffed peppers.

Gene did chores & went in to get his foot ball suit.

Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Thursday, August 18, 1960

I came home from work & Ivard was to work, floated on 7: job.

Kay & Ray were to work at Max's.

I washed 2 batches & cut up cucumbers & put them in lime water until tomorrow.

I went to bed at 11:30 but didn't get mch sleep, Kids kept wakeing me up then I got Dale & Jackie to bed with me for bap.

I got up at 6: & Gene & I went in to drug store & got calf medecine & went to Stockman & Gene went in & got Ivard, he was playing cards again. we had a Cool & got groc. & came home, Ivard came right after us, got supper & we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Wednesday, August 17, 1960

I dashed home from work & had a bath & Ray & I went in to Kotters & I went to Boise to Dr. with Leva, Helen & Emma. I lost 5 lbs & one in. on bust & hips. we got back to Helens at 1: & she tried Jackies pajamas on Mellissa to see how they fit & I took her the pattern. Ray picked her cucumbers & I brought them home. Ray & I went shopping & he got all his school cloths. came home at 3: & I went to bed. until time to go to work.

Ivard went to work at 4:, floated.

I went to work at 11: Kids don't feel very good.

Kids didn't work today.

Tuesday, August 16, 1960

I washed 3 batches of cloths & sewed most of day, finished Jackies pajamas

Kids feel better today

Ivard came home & went to bed until noon then he got up & helped Kay, Ray & Dean haul straw they got it all hauled.

I cooked supper & we ate at 5: & Ray did dishes Ivard milked & he & Jackie bathed & I went to bed & got diary up at 7:30 then they came to bed & we slept until time to go to work The alarm didn't go off & I woke up at 11:15 we got to work after swing had left but the whistle hadn't blown.

cool today. I got up at 5:30 & made Kay & Rays lunch & they went to work at Max's. I went back to bed

changed all the beds & washed & Dean cleaned all the bed rooms & front room.

Ivard & I went to town & got Ivards check & Paid bills & went to bank & got a few groc.

I made my & Kays bed & Ray made rest.

I sewed on Jackies pajamas work called & said we wouldn't work tonite, that was good because Kids didn't feel very good. Ray went to Mutual & they rest of us went to bed at 8:

Sunday, August 14, 1960

Gene & Dale don't feel so hot. Kay - Ray & Dean went to conference & I cleaned up & cut out Jackie a pr. of pajamas & started to sew them. Kay & Kids came home at noon & brought Lanny Leslie Ray fixed lunch while I got ready & they ate & we went back to conference.

It was good. Came home & Ray fixed spagetti & we ate.

We watched T.V. until it went off air.

Saturday, August 13, 1960

I stoped at hospital on my way home from work & got Gene & Ray then we went & got Jackie from Kotters & came home. Ivard was home & he finished baleing straw. Ray did up the work. I slept until noon.

This afternoon I went to town & got Dean & Dale a winger coat, Dean went with me, got some flannel for Ray some pajamas, Jackie & Debbie a slip. Came home after we got groc. & Ray had supper ready. Gail, Lynda & Kids were here when I got home. We ate & played penochle & Gail left at 8: & Kay went to Caldwell to Carnival, got home at 1:15

I stayed up & watched T.V. until it went off air. My & Ivards nite off

Friday, August 12, 1960

Gene & Dale had tonsciles out wasn't what they expected.

Jackie went to Mellisas birthday Party & stayed all nite.

Gene & Dale went in & met Ivard at work at 6:45 A.M. & he went to hospital with them to get ready for their tonesiles out. Ray milked & Kay did calves.

I got off work at 6:30 & came home & got ready & made Rays lunch then I went in to hospital. Gene had already gone up but Dale was in room so I sat with him until he went. Ivard & I sat out in waiting room 2 hrs then then they brought them down & we saw them awhile & came home at 10:30 & I washed 2 batches & went to bed then got up at 1: & hung out cloths & Ivard & I took Jackie in to Mellissa's party. They went to Park & went swimming. I went & saw Kids while Ivard went to bank, got feed & saw about spraying seed then he came & we stayed until 4: then went to Caldwe after calf milk. Came back & got groc. & went after Jackie but she stayed all nite. I went to bed at 6:30. Ray worked at Tiffenys hauling straw.

Thursday, August 11, 1960

Gene worked for Wally all day. I came home from work & Ivard was home & in bed.

Dean, Dale & Jackie went to Primary with Barlows.

I ate & read paper & went to bed.

Kids got me up at 2: to go to town but we didn't got until 3:30. because Ivard had to bath & go in for his physical for rail road. He baled straw until he broke needle.

Kay & Ray got some socks & a shirt & Jackie got some material for pajamas & some just like it for Mellissa's birthday.

We got home at 6:30 & I cooked supper, stuffed peppers, It was 8: time we ate & I went to bed until time to go to work, took Ivard

Wednesday, August 10, 1960

I came home from work & read paper & at 9:45 I went to bed, Ivard was already in bed.

Kay & Ray went to work at Maxs at 6: & got home at 1: then they went swimming

Gene got up & went over & did Wallys chores then he came & got Dean & took him to town at 7:30 A.M. to pass hand bills & he brought Ivard home from work & they did chores then he went over & worked at Wallys until noon then he went & got Dean. I got up & got their dinner & got cloths in.

I stoped & signed for unemploy on way home this morning. I was in bed most of day but didn't sleep much. Had Jackie & Dale in with us all afternoon. Went to work at 11: Ivard went in Pick-up at 11:30

Tuesday, August 9, 1960

I came home from work & went right to bed. Gene took Kay & Ray to work at Max's & he went over & did Wallys choers then he went in & got Ivard & he did our chores & Gene went back over to Wallys until 1:

Ivard went to bed with me & Kids woke us up at 1: then Gene went to town & got baleing twine & was going to bale straw but got tractor stuck. We laid in bed but couldn't sleep. Gail & Jeff came over awhile. I helped Dean make cookes & got supper. Gene went over & did Wallys chores & took Dale & Ivard did ours Kay & Ray rode home with Mike at 6:30 & when Gene came we ate & Ivard went in with Kay, Gene, & Ray to priesthood ball game between 2nd & 5th Ward. I made lunches & washed 2 batches & went to bed.

Monday, August 8, 1960

I started back to work at Simplots got letter from Jerry.

Kay went to work at 5:45 & in a little while Max called & wanted Ray so I took him up at 7:.

Ivard got home from work at 4:30 A.M.

I changed all the beds & washed cloths all day, 6 batches

Gene did chores & raked hay.

Ivard, Gene, & I went to town & got Gene check, went to bank & got groc. & took hay knives in to be welded made an appointment for Gene & Dale at Dr. Daynes for 3:. came home & ate & tended cloths & I took Gene & Dale in to Dr & he said he'd take their tonsciles out Friday, we went to hospital & had their blood tests then we went to drug store & got their pills. Came home & got supper & when Ray got home he made beds. We ate on lawn & Kay - Gene & Ray went to Mutual. I made Kids lunchs & Ivard & I went to bed. I got up at 10:15 & had a bath & took Ivard to work on my way.

Sunday, August 7, 1960

Gene got up & did chores & at 8: AM he & Ray left for church at Owyhee ward, they went to priesthood, sunday school & sacrament meeting.

I got called back to work at Simplots for tomorrow nite.

I had a bath & me & little Kids went to sunday school. Ivard & Kay stayed home & watched ball game.

Dean went to Mike Perrys for the afternoon.

I came home & got dinner & we ate & Ivard took Dale to bed & I took Jackie for nap when Jackie went to sleep I read a genelogy book.

Ivard did chores & Gene & Ray came at 6:30. Kay - Ray & Dale went to church & Ivard, Jackie & I rode in to see about Ivards job, he got bumped. He floats tonite at 11: We watched T.V. &  made Kays lunch for in mornig. Kay, Dean & Dale came home & Ray stayed to fireside.

Saturday, August 6, 1960

Kay took Ivard & I to all Star foot ball game at Vale. We left at 6:30 got home at 11:, Eastern Oregon won. Ivards nite off

I got up at 5:30 & made Kays lunch & he went to work at Max's, first Ivard pushed me in car up to corner & back to other corner to get it started, I went back to bed awhile.

I finished getting my bed room back together. They finished sideing on our house

Ray cleaned bed rooms upstairs & bathroom. At noon Ivard took Jackie & I in to Helen's & he watched ball game with Kert & his day while Helen cut my hair & washed it & cut Jackies. We went home & brought Melissa for afternoon Ray had everything out of front room & rug half scrubbed so I finished it & he got Kitched scrubbed & waxed & they ate while Kay & I went to town to shop for school cloths, didn't get much. came home & Gene & Ray took Melissa home on way to go to Weiser to put on their road show, they won from our stake

Friday, August 5, 1960

I got up & put Kays lunch & Genes up & Kay went to work at Max's at 6: Ivard & Gene did chores & Ivard got called to float on day job & I went back to bed & went to sleep & about forgot to tell him, he was nearly late. He took Gene to work at feed store.

I took every thing out of my bed room & Ray did wood work & I vacumed rug good & scrubbed it good with my new floor polisher. It sure looked good. When Ivard got home we got all the furn. back in, brought Jackies bed down in my room. Ivard got cow feed on way home.

I even got my curtains washed & back up. Mrs Allen brought Dean home at 4:

Today was Gene's last day at feed store. We ate & Gene & Ray went in to Road show practice, they won Stake & go to Weiser tomorrow nite.

Thursday, August 4, 1960

I got up & made lunches & Kay went to work & I went back to bed

Ivard took Gene to work.

Kids went to Primary with Mrs Barlow & Dean went home after with George Allen to stay all nite & sleep on lawn in sleeping bag, him & Mike.

I washed cloths and read all day.

Ivard left a little early for work & pd. $700. on our $800. payment on mortage for last yr. & Int.

Gene came home in car & did chores & we ate

I watched T.V. "Rebecca" until 11:30 then went after Ivard & came home & finished seeing it.

Wednesday, August 3, 1960

Kay got me up at 4: A.M & I made his lunch & he went to work at Max's.

I went back to bed & got up at 7: & had a bath & took Gene in to work at feed store then I drove over to Leva's & sat out in front an hr. reading while she got ready then we drove down to Lillinquist's & went with her & went & got Helen & went to Boise to Dr. I gained 2 lbs. got home at 12:30 & ate & at 2: Ivard & I went to Nampa & got some pipe to fix water on lawn, it broke & I signed for unemployment then we went & had a cool & Ivard went to work. I went to Caldwell to Dairy & got calf feed & went to AAA office & got wheat card & went to Nampa & got our check $757. they finished cutting it this morning. I got groc. & got Gene & came home.

Gene did chores & him & I went in to Stake House & saw rest of road shows, he bought me a cool after & we waited for Ivard.

Tuesday, August 2, 1960

Kay went to work for Max today. I took Gene in to work at General Mills feed store then waited until 9: & went over & got him a Social Security card to send in. It only took a few min, he let Gene go.

Relief Society teachers came at 10:30 & Ivard took off & never got back until 2:30, he'd been to Stockman & won $9. he had a hair cut, he changed cloths & took off for work & Ray went with him & had a hair cut & brought Gene home. I finished iorning & did 2 batches of washing & read

Too wet to do grain again.

Gene & Ray went in to road show at 7:, Ray in it & Gene is stage manager. Kay got home at 8: & I went in to road show at Stake House in pick-up. I traded Kids for car & they came home at 10:30 & I went & had a cool & waited for Ivard to get off work.

Monday, August 1, 1960

started putting alumin sideing on house

Rained most of last nite, too wet for Kay to work. Gene went to work for Feed Store. I took Ray up to Henises at 9: to Detasel corn & they brought him home at 5:30.

Ivard, Kay, Dean, Dale, Jackie & I went to town & got Ivards check, went to Bank & paid bills. came home & Jackie & I rode to town to take the truck of grain, lacked 170 lbs of being 5 ton. We took truck home to Wally & Kay came & got us.

Started putting alumn sideing on house today.

Ivard left early for work at Nampa at 3:30 to look at board We changed beds & I wased all day in between. I cooked supper & iorned all afternoon.

Ray made beds & Dean did dishes & Gene did chores & we ate & Kay - Gene & Ray went to Mutual. I worked on books.
