grey & spots of Sun now & then

Ivard got up & took Jerry to work his day off but he had to work, & got his check.  I read paper & Dean made waffles & we ate then I worked on my books and Dean & Jackie did dishes.  figured out check & at 12:30 we went up & paid place & bills.  Gene went with us.  Lyle followed us home & they watched ball game then Gene & Lyle went & looked at some houses for rent.

Ivard went to work at 4:

Lyle took Jackie up to Gails to play at 4:15 and she came home at 8:30

Gene went too to look at houses with Lyle & Barbra.  Lyle brought Gene, Dale & Jackie home at 8:30 & got Dean to go up & stay all nite & tend Gails Kids.

I went up & got Jerry at 5: & we bought $20. worth of groc. & came home & Jerry-Dean & I ate. 

Jerry worked on books awhile.  Jackie & I went to bed at 9: & Jerry- Gene & Dale went about 10: Ivard was home & in bed before midnite.  I listened to new year in in New York & Chicago on radio & went to sleep woke up just in time to hear it here.

Ray went back to Utah

Ivard got up & took Jerry to work & droped Dale off at M&W to meet Gail.

Ray went up town awhile then we played Scrabble.  Lyle came few min

Gail & Lynda & Kids came & brought Dale home.

Ivard took down Xmas tree and went to work at 4:

Ray decided to go back to Utah & got his cloths packed.  We ate supper & Jerry _ Dean & Jackie took him up to train at 8: he acted like he didn't want me so I got mad & went to bed.  train was hr. late then couldn't get going here.  it was 9:45 time they got home.

Dale went back home with Gail so he could work with him Tomorrow.

Jerry went up to pack out & brought me a drink.

cloudy, dreary day _ snow flurries

I got up when Jerry _ Gene, Ray & Dean went to Priesthood, Ivard wouldn't go, had to watch foot ball game, some example, Father he is, just a spoiled little Kid.

I read paper & worked on puzzle and made a beef stew with bisciuts on for dinner & we had a Xmas carrot pudding with lemon sauce

Jerry came home & got Dale for sunday school.  They got home at 1:40 & Jerry dashed up & got some milk.  We ate at 2:30 & Jerry & Ray went to Murrys.  Dean did dishes & I worked on my books.  Ivard sat & watched T.V. until he was almost late for work at 4:

Kids went to church and Jackie & I went to bed.  she doesnt feel too good yet.

Saturday, December 28, 1963

rained for 2 or 3 hrs this morning

Ray got up & went to Idaho City with Phil, all day sleigh rideing.  Jerry didn't have to be to work today until 10: then Ivard took him.

Dean cleaned up the house & I washed & iorned cloths all day, stoped at 2:30 & Ivard & I & Dean played 1 game of Scrabble and Gene & Jackie took Gails car home they used last nite to come home.  They went at 2:30 & Came home about 6:30, Gail brought them & Dale & him & Debbie stayed until after 8:

Ivard went to work at 4:

Jerry got groc. & came home with Bill from work at 7: I sent Dale to bed for fighting & bawling.  Jerry went up to Alices awhile then gave us a dish of sherbet.

Kids made so much noise I couldn't hear T.V. so I got mad & went to bed and they watched, Jerry _ Gene & Ray.

I washed my hair & when Ray got home at 5: he went & got his cut & I washed it.

Friday, December 27, 1963

Cloudy & foggy all day.  Thawed Ivards day off but he went to work at 7: switching got home at 2:30

I got up at 9: and washed cloths & iorned & made made a fancy jello salad for supper.

Gene took Jerry to work.  Dale didn't go with Gail today got up to late.

When Ivard came we played a game of Scrabble then I cooked supper.

Ray got up at noon & went to Phills all afternoon then came home & ate & went with Phil to Priest spagetti dinner at church.  Kids Played games

Ivard & I & Dale went & got feed & got Jerry & after we ate Jerry took him up & Gene to go to Caldwell with Gail to get his truck

Jerry had a dinner date.

Lyle came & ate after work & him & Ivard went over to Stake House & Lyle played ball.  Dale went with them.  Gail & Gene were going too.

I worked on books & watched T.V.

Jackie & I went to bed at 9: only day during holidays Ivard would be home so we could have done something.

Thursday, December 26, 1963

grey & cloudy all morning.  snowed all afternoon & most of tonite.

Ivards day off but he went siwtching at 8: took Jerry to work on his way.

Gene & Ray got home, from staying all nite at Lyles about 3:

I went to bank for Jerry then I signed up for unemployment.  got jerry some pills & took them back up to him.

Washed some cloths and iorned

Gene, Dean, Dale & I went up town & exchanged their Xmas pants then went & got Jerry from work & he took Dean & Dale & got them a bigger coat their Xmas present, were too little.  I bought Dale a new pr. hytop shoes & a pr. boots

Gene got him a new pr. shoes.  came home & ate.  Gail came & took Ray up to tend Kids for awhile while he went to see about his new furniture.

Jerry was sick & him & Sis stayed home & went to bed & Ivard, Gene, Dean Dale & I went over to Lyles.  Snowed on us all the way over & back.

We played Cards.

Wednesday, December 25, 1963

Christmas_ nice day _ not too cold.

I got a coughing spell at 7: & woke up so I woke everyone up & we got up & opened our presents.  We all really had a nice Xmas.  We cleaned up & put our Things up then Ivard_ Gene Ray & Dean went up to church and got some chairs & tables and took up to Gails.  Gail came while we were opening presents and Dale went home with them.  Gail had Debbie, Kristine & Jeff with him.  My Xmas list in back. At noon Jerry (he was sick) & I bundled Jackie up & went up to Gails too.  When Lyle & family Came we all opened our presents.  I got avon dusting powder, cologne, & stich cologne.

We Ivard & I dashed home at 3: & he got ready for work then we went back & had big turkey dinner & Ivard went to work at 4: We came home at 6: and brought Stanley & Terry then at 8: Gene & Ray took them back up to Gails & Dale to go stay all night to work for Gail tomorrow

Gene & Ray went to Nyssa to Stake Xmas dance & stayed all nite at Lyles.  Lyle came for few min on way home.  Ivard got home early & we watched last show.

Tuesday, December 24, 1963

got new speed queen dryer for Xmas

dismal day

finished wrapping presents this morning _ and for Gene.

cleaned up & Jerry _ Ray & Dean & Gene went up town awhile.

They brought me a new dryer & set it up.  I was really surprised.

Dale went with Gail all day & he brought him home tonite.

Dean came home & made fancy Xmas cookies & Ivard-Jerry & I went up town then went & Jerry bought us $27. worth of groc. for holidays.

Jerrys day off but he was supposed to work but they let him off to go to Dr. then Dr. called & said he wouldn't be there Today.

Cooked a ham.

Ivard went to work at 4: & got home about 11: & we played Santa

Jerry, Ray, Dean & Dale went delivering Xmas presents then they brought Dean & Dale home & went again

Ivard & I & Gene played penochle until everyone got home & to bed

Monday, December 23, 1963

foggy & cold.

I came home from work & went to bed until noon.  We are off for holidays until Jan. 5th.

Jerry worked at Safeways.

Dale worked with Gail all day, Ray half

Dean cleaned house good & I washed cloths.

Ivard went to work at 3:45

We ate & I dashed up at 6: & took Jerry & Ray to Homestead to Dairy queen Party then went up to Gails & got Dale & Dean & I took him up to church to Ward Xmas programe & Santa Clause Jackie still has mumps so Gene stayed home with her.

Came home at 8:30 & watched T.V. Jerry & Ray got home about 10:

Foggy

I came home from work & went right to bed.  Sis is swelled real big on both sides & feels awful.  She laid on davenport & I slept while Ivard, Jerry_ Gene Ray & Dean went to Priesthood & sunday school.  They came home & Took Dale to S.S. They came home & Jerry & Dean went to meeting at Stake house.  When they Came home we ate.

Ivard went to Wilder at 1:30 & got home about 5:30 breaking, his day off.

Kids went to church & Ivard & Gene watched TV.  Jackie & I went to bed early.

I came home from work with Arleen WIlma got sick.  I went right to bed

Dean was gone to Idaho City sledding for day when I got home.

Ivard had taken Jerry to work at Safeway

Kids went shopping & woke me up at 2: so I got up & washed cloths & cleaned up.

Ivards day off but he went breaking at 2:30 to Weiser.

Dale went to work with Gail this morning

After Kids got me up, Gene Ray & Jackie had nap.

Dean got home at 5:30 and Ivard got home about 8:

Went & got Jerry from work & ate & I went to bed until Time to go to work.  took Sis with me she doesn't feel a bit good, mumps.

Jerry went down to dairy q. for about hr.

Ray went to Boise to Tupperware Party with Evelyn Elmore.

little kids got out of school until Jan. 6

I went back to work after being off sick 2 weeks

saw sun a min. foggy most of day & it snowed awhile

Florist delivered me a big boquet of carnations from Jerry.

I got up at 6: & read paper & practied piano then took Jerry to work.  Took Sis to work School.  Ivard got up at noon & Gene & Ray at 11: I took Gene & Ray up to Gails & mailed some sutff & went To bank for Jerry.

Came home & Ivard & I wrapped Xmas presents then went to Caldwell to Gold Strike CEnter & came back & picked up Jackie up at school they are out until Jan. 6.

I washed 4 batches of cloths & dried over stove.

Lyle came a min.  Dean fixed supper & I went & got Jerry & we ate & I took Jerry up to get haircut & went hunting Ray to work.  was supposed to be at D.q at 6: I went up to Gails & she said they were out to Bulldog Lanes so I went & got him, ½hr late.  Gail brought Gene to get his cloths & he went up & had Lynda cut his hair & he got ready & Jerry picked him up when he went after his date, Karen Williams & they went to Middleton to 5 take M_Men Gleaners dance.  He droped Dean off on way to Xmas Party at greys.  I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ray got home from school

real foggy all nite & today

took piano scarf off stretching & got my last dresses scarf on.  washed a batch of cloths.

I got up at 6: & fixed breakfast & Dean went to Seminary & Ivard Jerry _ Dale & Jackie went up to train at 7:30 & met Ray then took Jerry to work at Safeway.  brought Ray home & Ivard took Dale & Jackie to school.

Ivard, Ray & I went up to Wards & charged 2 new tires & got them on car & got a bunch of cloths for every ones Xmas, came home & Lyle had brought Gene home so Gene, Ray & I went to Boise at 3: & picked up Jerrys Tupperware came back & got Jerry from work at 5: & came home & Ray fixed supper while I went & got Dale & Jackie from Primary.  Ivard went to work at 4:

We ate & I took Jerry up to work at D.q. 6: to close & Dale cleaned his yard.  Gail Came up then down to our place.

I didn't feel like going to work yet.

Ray went up at 8: & I finished for Jerry & he came home & went to bed.  I went to bed at 8: & read until 1: AM

Wednesday, December 18, 1963

Gene came home & went to Lyles ½hr later

sun shone a min.  grey & foggy all day frost on everything.

Kids went to school and Ivard Took Jerry to Safeways and came home & went back to bed.

I read paper & my book awhile then spent all morning penning out my piano scarf, new and drying cloths over stove.

Gene got home about 2:30 & we went up to Gails a few min's to see how mumps were, Debbie is real sick.  Lyle was there & Gene went home with him.  came home & Ivard ate & went to work.  We wrapped a few presents just before Gene came.

Kids came from school, Dean went today & we ate.

I got books up

Took Jerry up to Dq. to work at 6: & we went out to Hurrens to Piano lessons.  Came back to D.q. at 7:45 & got Jerry, he got Mrs Murry to work for him, & came home & Jerry went to Safeway Xmas party until 10:45 & he came home to bed.  He doesn't feel a bit good.  I read until Ivard came, still don't feel like going to work.

Tuesday, December 17, 1963

My 29th anniversary

cloudy sun shined some- foggy Tonite.  Dean was sick & I Kept him home in bed.

Jerrys day off.  he got up early & put away his Tupper ware party from last nite & went to Caldwell to Dr. at 9:30, had to go 24 hrs without anything to eat.  They called later & said he didn't have sugar diebiets.  I helped him wrap all his Xmas presents he gave something for us to give each Kid & from Santa.  There we drew name & he was only supposed to buy 2.  He gave Ivard & I over $100. worth of presents to give.

He got supper while I took Jackie to dance class & their Xmas party.

Ivard went to work at 4: & when he came home at midnite we went up to Chinese place & had chow mein.  He was goeing to lay off & we were going to Boise but never.  I'm still off.  We got home at 1: A.M.

Jerry was supposed to work at D.q but he was too sick, got Some one to work for him I went to bed at 1

Monday, December 16, 1963

got letter from Ray

Cloudy & grey all day.

Kids went to school.  I took Jerry to work & came back & sat in chair & slept until almost 10:, I was sick in nite & didn't get much sleep.

Ivard went & got his check & I figured out what to do with it and we went to bank, & paid bills. Came home & made out payments to mail.

We ate & Ivard went to work helped Dean finish fixing house & went & got Jerry at 5: & Came home & we got ready for his Tupperware open house 6: to 10: he had quite a few come & sold a lot of stuff he had on hand.

after it was over him & Dean went up to D.q & had some one pick a name out of pot for the drawing.  Alice won

I didn't go to work again Tonite.  I don't feel up to it.

Debbie has mumps

sunshined today.

We read paper in bed then Ivard took Jerry up to D.q. to work at 10: he had to open up.  He took Dale & he cleaned up the yard.  They Came home & Ivard got ready & he & Dean went to Priest hood.  I got boks up & practiced my piano.  Ivard came home & got Dale & Jackie & they all went to sunday school.

I read papers & worked on my puzzle contest.

When they came from Church we fixed dinner & ate.  Ivard watched T.V. all afternoon

Dale brought Buttler boy home for afternoon.

Gail Came a min this morning.  Debbie has measles mumps.

I finished fixing rest of my Xmas Cards.

I went & got Jerry at 5: & we went & bought some gas.

Ivards day off.

We all got ready & went to church I was supposed to go to work tonite but I don't feel good yet.

Ray called while we were up to Gails

snowed during nite & this morning ground is white-every one forgot to wake up & Jerry was half hr. late for work time Ivard took him.

I finished getting Xmas Card, ready

Dean scrubbed & waxed floors and changed all the furniture around

Ivards day off and mine.

Ivard went to store & had hair cut & I fixed lunch.  He watched ball games all day.

I washed 5 batches of cloths & iorned all afternoon.  Changed my bed & Ivard helped me make it.

I rode up with Ivard to get Jerry then him & Dean went ward teaching.  While they were gone Gail & Lynda Came & brought Dale home, they only stay out few min.  When Jerry came we ate & Ivard took him up to work at D.q. 7: until 12:30.  I got ready and Ivard & I went up to Gails & played penochle.  We got home about 11:45 & watched late show.  Ivard went and got Jerry.

Ivard went to work at 3:50 and Kids came home and I took Dean up to get hair cut then went & got him & we went & got Jerry at 5: & Came home after Jerry helped Dean buy a box of candy for Jernalism teacher tonite at dance, Dean had to present it as editor.

I washed Deans hair & him & Dale made their 3 beds, I washed, while I took Jerry to work at D.q. at 6: We got ready & at 7:15 went & got Jerry, he got some one to work rest of nite he was sick and we went & had supper at Ward reunion.  Smorgersberg-real good-left at 9: before programe & took Dale up to Gails to stay all nite.  at 11: I had to go to Central & Pick Dean up & we went up & woke Gail to give him a message_

I felt a little better today I got up & took Dean to Seminary and I got up & when he came from takeing Jerry to work at Safeway we took Jackie to school then went out to Hurrens and to get car, forgot Keys & had to come back & get them.  Ivard opened hood right up & I got it going.  When we got home Ivard took it up & got new part so we can start it.

I spent afternoon fixing my Xmas cards, got biggest part of them ready.

Ivard went after Sis but missed her, she walked to Primary.  He went to work at 3:50.

I cooked a good supper, meat loaf carrots & peas, jello salad, baked potatoe

I went & got Jerry from work then we went & picked Kids up at primary & Came home & ate.

I took Jerry up to work at D.q. 6: till close

Ivard sold heifer for Xmas money.

Jerry took Dean to Seminary & came home & ate & went to work at Safeway.  He came home for lunch today.  Ivard went & rented a trailer & took gurnsey heifer to sale so we would have some Xmas money.

I worked on quickie contest, washed a batch of cloths.  washed my & Ivards hair.

Kept Sis home again today

Ivard went & got his glasses he'd left to be adjusted & they broke lens & had to fix.

Lyle & Barbra stoped in few min on way from Boise, Took Terry for his 3 mo. check up for T.B.

Ivard went To work at 3:50.

We took Jerry to work at D.q. 6: To close & after we ate, he got home from Safeway at 5:30.

We left Jerry & went out to Harrens & Dean, Dale & I had our piano lesson.  couldn't start car so Mr. Hurren brought us home at 9: & Dean did dishes & dale & Sis went to bed.  I got books up.  I still can hardly sit or walk, stayed home again.

Jackie didn't go dancing.

Xmas Turkey dinner at relief society.

wind blew hard all nite, cold.  sunshine Today.

I Kept Jackie home from school she has such a caugh.

Jerrys day off.  He took Dean to Seminary & came home & got ready & went to Caldwell to doctor & had some more tests.  Jerry came home & brought a hamberger & drink for Ivard & Jackie & drink for me.

I had shower & got ready & at 10: Ivard left Sis alone & took me up to church to relief society work day & Xmas party.  We had lesson & demonstrations & made Xmas Things.  We had a delicious Turkey dinner.  Jerry came & got me at 1:

Ivard went to work at 3:50.

Dale never got home from school until 5:50, been to basketball practice.

Jerry went to work at D.q 6: to close

Gail came few min. & called his order in.  Dean went to mutual with Perrys.  Jackie & I went to bed at 7:, now I've got sores & can't sit down or walk.  off sick.

Monday, December 9, 1963

Sent letter to Mother - Gene - Ray sent tie-breaker contest in.  Jerry started working for Safeway.

Jerry took Dean to Seminary & went to work. Started at 8: working for Safeway- training for butcher.  good set_up, sounds like.

Kids went to school & Jackie got up at 8:30 & Ivard took her.

I washed cloths & finished up my final tie breaker contest puzzle & Ivard took it up & mailed it & put some money in bank for me.

I wrote letter to Mother _ Gene and Ray & Ivard mailed them when he went to work at 3:50, rode with Dusty.

Jerry took Dean up to buy us a new piano book then left him to Church to play practice & he went over to Stake House to M_Men & Gleaners.  Dean came home at 9:30 with Crofts & Jerry came at 10: him & Dean went up to D.q. & brought us a drink.  I was watching T.V. I still feel awful so I laid off again.

cloudy _ snow flurries tonite

Jerry had to be to work at 10: at D.q. so Ivard took him up & Dale cleaned up his yard then they took Dean up to Priesthood & came home.

Ivard & Dale went to Sunday school.  Jackie was caughing too much.  I worked on my contest puzzle all day, until I could scream, last day.  I have to send it in tomorrow.

WHen they came from church I fixed dinner & we ate & I went on doing puzzle, read paper.

Ivard watched ball game all day.  He went & got Jerry at 5: Jerry fixed Xmas Cards & made out a party order for me a Tupper Ware Party (2nd) on 2nd gold Key.

Jerry, Dean & Dale went to church when they came home & toated Tuna fish sandwiches & Jerry brought home cake, icecream & strawberries & we had shortcake.  Ivards nite off I laid off again still don't feel good.

Dean cleaned up house and I washed clothes all day & worked on my contest puzzle in between.

Ivard sat & watched T.V. all day as usual.

Jerry went up town then I took him up to work at D.q. 10: to 6:

Dean went up to store on bike then we fixed supper & ate at 5:30.

I got ready & went & got Jerry & brought him home then Ivard & I, Dean & Jackie went up to Gails & got Dale at 6: & we went over to Parma To visit Lyle.

We played cards & had choclate sundee & cookies.  came home at 1:30 A.M.

My & Ivards nite off.  I still don't feel good.

got our first Xmas card (2)

rained hard about 4:30 A.M then hailed a little_sunny most of day, first time we've seen sun in over a week.

Jerry took Jackie to school & came home & rested & wrapped Xmas presents all morning.  He doesn't feel very good.

I got up & ate & just sat after I read paper I feel so dizzy & head ache ect.

I got books up & worked on my Contest puzzle.  Ivard got up & ate & read a novel all day, he found out in garage yesterday.

Jerry went to work at D.q. lunch hr. then went up to Safeway & practiced a while.

Ivard went to work at 3:45.

Jerry took Kids up Town & bought Dale a hat & brought hambergers & tater Tots home for supper.

He went to Boise to Party at one of his missionary companions & took Alice.

Gail came & left Kids & we went up to Albertsons to moonlight sale, Gail won Turkey.  He bought us a soada.  They went home & took Dale to work tomorrow.

Ivard came at 11:15 & we watched show.

Jerry went to Dr in Caldwell

another dark dreary day, haven't seen sun in over a week.

I came home so sick, started my period after 90 days, thought I was in change.  I read paper & went right to bed at 9:30.  Ivard was still asleep.  When I got up at 4:30 he was to work.

Dale looked OK so I let him go to school.  Jerry took him & Jackie on his way to Caldwell to see Dr. when I got up he wasn't here either nor Dean, I guess they were up town waiting for Kids from Primary they were.  Came home & Jerry fixed supper.  I had 20 eggs deviled.  We ate and I took Jerry to work & I doctored & went right to bed after I called work & laid off.

Dr. is giving Jerry a complete physical blood tests _ exrays ect. won't know results until he goes Tuesday.

Wednesday, December 4, 1963

grey & dismal all day about 27°

I came home from work read paper & went to bed at 9:30 & was awake again at 12:30 I laid there awhile & couldn't go back to sleep so I got up & cut up nuts to make xmas pudding on my day off.

Jerry took Jackie to school and went up to Safeway for awhile and made minute steaks, training. worked at D.q. noon hour & from 6: to close

Ivard sat all day as usual, & watched T.V. doesn't read, turn his hand over to do a tap, just sits.  I get so mad.

I practiced my piano lessons & got supper.

Ivard went to work at 3:50.

Dale came home with a rash all over his face so I had him take a hot bath & put him to bed with electric blanket on high, thought he was getting measles.

Dean & I went out & had our Piano lesson then up to D.q & he did yard for Dale & Jerry gave us a soda.  Came home at 8: & went to bed until time to go work

cloudy & dreary 30° when we came home from work.

I read paper & went to bed at 9:30.

Jerry took Jackie to school

He worked at dairy q. 11:45 to 1:30 & 6: to close.

I woke up at 1:30 & couldn't sleep so I got up & worked on my books.

Ivard went to work at 3:45, rode with dusty.

Jerry took Jackie to dance practice & went & got her & I finished my books.

Jerry & Dean went to store & got stuff & fxied supper.

Dale went up & cleaned D.q. yard but never, just ate stuff & came home again.

We ate & I took Jerry to work then came home & at 7: I took Dale to Collect his Xmas card money from Pat&girls & we took Dean To Mutual. Came home & Jackie & I went to bed & Dale did dishes

dreary _ cloudy 26°

I got up after Kids went to school and washed my bed & the rugs.

Jerry went up to Safeway all morning & signed up to go to work for them starting Monday - training for butcher.  He didn't work at D.q. today, went to Boise at noon & never got home until midnite, met a bunch of Kids & went to show and ate.

Ivard got cut off brakeman & went back switching.  Went to work at 4: he helped me make bed before he left.

Worked on my puzzle.

I got supper & we ate.

Gail game few min.

I went to bed at 7:30 after I had a shower.

I went back to work tonite after being off sick over a week.

Sunday, December 1, 1963

Gene went back to Rexburg

cloudy most of day.

Jerry got up & went & took Kids to pass fast offerings then he & Dean went to Priesthood, came home & took Jackie Dale to sunday school & Fast meeting

Gene got up & went & milked Wallys cows took Gails car home & stayed ahile then Gail brought him home & stayed awhile didn't go to church, didn't know when Kids were going back to Rexburg him & Ivard watched ball game.  Jackie didn't feel good so I Kept her home.

I had dinner ready when they got home at 2:30 & we ate.  Gene left about 4:

Jerry went to work at D.q. 5: till close.  I took him up.

I was supposed to go back to work but I still dont feel like it.  Ivard didn't work today.

Ivard & I, Dean, Dale & Jackie went up to Gails & had pop corn & played Cards.  No church.  Came home at 8: & went to bed early.
