Dean started takeing Saxaphone lessons

I came home from work & ate & read paper & made some pop corn & Ivard & I played Scrabble until noon. I didn't feel like going to relief S.

I rained all morning. It was real foggy tonite.

I went to bed at noon & Ivard & Jackie went to town & got his check.

Jerry washed cloths, made 2 batches of cookies & got supper & they ate when Kids got home. when I woke up at 6: the dishes were done & Ivard - Gene & Ray were just leaving for ball practice I went back to bed until time to go to work. Ivard left right after I did, he had to be there at 11:30.

Could hardy find road in places the fog was so bad.

Cloudy - Windy - 45 degrees

I came home from work & Jerry took Kids to school.

Ivard went to work at 8:

I ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:40. Jerry brought Jackie in at 1:30 & she had a nap with me. We woke up at 3:45 & Jerry had got the Kids from school.

Jerry washed cloths, cooked a roast & had supper ready when Ivard & Kids got home, same time.

I got books up & read in N. T.

Ivard & I played a game of Scrabble then Ivard - Jerry, Gene & Ray went to Mutual & I had a bath & went to bed at 8: until time to go to work.

Sunday, January 29, 1961

Cold breeze - snowed this afternoon. Gene did chores.

Ivard came home from work & came to bed & he slept until noon.

I took Jerry - Gene - Ray & Dale to conference & Dean stayed home with Jackie, shes sick. came home at noon & ate & Ivard - Dean Jerry, Gene, Ray & I went to afternoon session & Dale stayed with Jackie. Gail & Lynda ame while we were gone but didn't stay long Dale said.

We came home at 4:30 & Ivard & I went to bed. Ivard got up at 8:30 & had icecream & cake & watched T.V. with Kids, I got up at 10:30 & went to work. snow had melted off roads.

Conference was sure good Bishop Joseph L Wirthlin, presideing bishop of church & Glen L. Rudd, director of Welfare square were up.

sunny - breezy day.

Gene was 17 yrs old today. Ivard got up & milked & let him sleep.

I iorned & washed all morning & Ray & Jerry cleaned house.

Ivard & Gene went in to ball practice at 9:45 & got home at 1: I went to town at 11: & got Genes decorated birthday cake & icecream & groc.

came home & Ray had a choc. cake & a spice cake made & I frosted them & made my big Kettle full of chilli.

Four girls came to Genes birthday party & hid upstairs when Gene got home & he about passed out he was so surprised There were 7 boys came & with Jerry & Ray & Gene there were 12 of them & Ivard took them to Givins Swimming. When they got back I had table set in front room & they had chilli - cocoa - icecream & cake & opened presents. Ray took pictures. Kids went home at 5: & Ivard did chores and Kids went in to Perrys & brought Dean home. Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Stake Lucky clover dance & they announced Gene's birthday & every one stoped dancing & sang Happy birthday to him - got home 11:45 Ivard went to work at midnite.

Friday, January 27, 1961

I came home from work, have tonite & tomorrow nite off. Jerry took Kids to school.

cloudy day. Ivard - Jerry & I played scrabble until 1:30 then Jackie & I went to bed & Ivard. when we got up Jerry had supper ready & had gone & got Kids & we ate when Gene & Ray came.

We played a game of Scrabble THen Ivard - Jerry - Gene & Ray went in to Stake House. Ivards team played ball & won they are in tournment now. They took Dean & droped him off at MIke Perrys to stay all nite.

I iorned awhile & watched T.V.

real foggy. I came home from work & Jerry took Kids to school.

Ivard had gone to work at 8:, he got off early & was home at 2:

I had some grape juice & read paper & went to bed.

Got up at 2:30 & played a game of scrabble. Ivard cut Jerrys hair & put Jackies hair up in curlers.

At 3:35 Ivard, Jackie & I went & got Kids & took them to Primary then Ivard got a hair cut while I went & got groc. at Safeway then I picked Ivard up & we went to Albertsons then got Kids & came home & ate & played scrabble & I went to bed at 8:45 till time to go to work. read awhile

roads were real slippery comeing home from work. Ivard took Kids to school

I had a drink & read paper & we played scrabble.

I went to bed at 11:50 & Jerry woke me up at 4:30 to make gravy. Jerry washed cloths & got supper

We played a game of Scrabble after supper.

I read in New Tesement & went to bed until time to go to work.

roads had dried off when I went to work.

Everything was still covered with frost all day but windows weren;t froze this morning, not much fog Came home from work & ate & read paper & watched T.V. then went to relief society & took Jackie. We got groc. & came home & I watched Loretta Young Show & the Millionaire & went to bed. Jerry got supper tamalee pie & a freezer of icecream They woke me up at 5:15 & we ate & I got books up.

Ivard - Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Stake house & Ivard played ball & beat Kuna.

Me & little Kids went to bed. snowed a little & roads were icy going to work.

sent birthday card to Deborah Batt - Sara & David

real foggy this morning and all day.

I came home from work & Jerry took Kids to school Ivard went to work at 8: AM. I ate & read paper & made a batch of no-bake cookies & went to bed at 10:30.

Jerry went after little Kids

Jerry cleaned up house, washed some cloths & had supper ready when Ivard & Kids got home & we ate.

I got books up & Gene did chores.

I went to bed at 7: & read N.T until 8: & slept until 11: & went to work

Ivard, Gene, Ray, Jerry & Dale went to Mutual to musical festival, Dale was in it then at 9: they went to Stake House & Kids played ball, beat Nampa 4th Ward 47 to 34. Gene made 27 points - never got home until 11:

I read my lesson then got up & washed my hair.


They ate & Ivard Jerry - Gene -& Ray went to priesthood & sunday school. I read paper, bathed & took little Kids to sunday school.

Foggy most of day -

Gene gave 2 1/2 min. talk & did good.

Ivard & I left sunday s. early & went over to Simplots to Annual Credit Union meeting. We got home at 4: & Kids had Stake supper ready & a freezer of icecream & a cake

We ate & I got books up & laid down at 5: until time to go to church

We all went to church, got home at 9:15. Ray went to fireside

I laid down until time to go to work. Ivard watched T.V.

Saturday, January 21, 1961

real foggy when I came home. sunny most of day. foggy this afternoon

Ivard was home & in bed. I ate, read paper & went to bed at 9:30.

Ivard got up at 10: & him Gene & Ray went in to Stake house & practiced ball. I got up at 2:30 & washed my bed & some cloths & little Kids beds.

Jerry got supper & Ray & Dean cleaned house. Gene had nap & Ivard watched ball game.

I iorned after Ray & I got home from town, getting groc. & Ray's coursage.

Ray got ready & Ivard took him in to Kellogs to go on his first date, to Gold & Green ball. He took Judy Wilson.

We watched T.V. & played Scrabble. Jerry made a batch of fudge & we had pop corn. Kids went to bed at midnite. It was 1:40 AM when Ray got home. My nite off. Ivard didn't work today.

I came home from work & ate & Ivard & Jerry & I played Scrabble. I went to bed at 11:30. They woke me up at 3:45 the Relief Society teachers here.

After they left I watched Roy Rogers & read N.T.

Jerry got supper & we ate & Gene did chores.

Ray didn't come home from school stayed to dance practice for Gold & Green ball.

After supper we mixed up a freezer of icecream & Ivard froze it & we ate it after Gene did chores. We were just dishing it up when Gail - Lynda & Kids came. After we had icecream Ivard Jerry - Gene & Gail went to Kuna to ball game & we watched T.V. they got home at 10:15 & Gail went home & Ivard went to work at 11: & I left at 11:, Ray wasn't home yet.

sunny nice day

I came home from work at 9: I had a flat tire when I got to work & when I went to change it the spare was flat, the nite watchman took it & put air in it.

Ivard was home & just came from takeing Kids to school.

I ate & read paper & went to bed with Ivard. I was froze half to death

Jerry woke us up at 3: & said we had to take Kids to Primary today so Ivard, Jackie & I went & got Dean & Dale & left Kids at Primary & we went & got a new tire on car & groc. I read N.T. while they did tire.

We got Kids & came home & Jerry had supper ready & we ate. Ray didn't come home from school, went to road show practice

I got books up & went to bed at 7: Ivard & Gene went to ball practice & brought Ray home. Ivard didn't work.

Wednesday, January 18, 1961

sent Kay letter & $10.

sunny & nice all day.

I came home from work & Ivard had taken Kids to school & gone to Nampa to take his rules test. He watched T.V. while we were to town

I ate, read paper & went to bed at 9:30.

Jerry woke me up at 1: & him & I & Jackie went in & signed up for unemployment & Jerry saw them too. Went to bank & paid bills then we went to Caldwell & Jerry went to unemployment office while I went & put some money in Kids Savings accounts. Got eggs feed & groc. & came home at 5: & I worked on my books.

We ate at 6: & at 7: I went to bed until time to go to work so did Ivard & he went to work at 11:30, followed me to town.

I read N.T while I waited for Jerry today.

Tuesday, January 17, 1961

sent Lyle a late birthday card & note & Bill a birthday card

Kay called

Foggy comeing home but nice & sunny all day. I didn't go to relief society, too tired.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:30. After I took Kids to school.

Ivard had just got home & was in bed, he doubled last nite at midnite.

Jerry didn't go to work at Sugar Factory, he got sick last nite at ball game & vomited, stomache flue then Ivard didn't get home until 8:50 so he didn't have a way.

Jerry woke me up at 4:45 & I got up & made biscuits to put on his meat pie & helped Ray mix up a freezer of 3 in 1 sherbet & him & Ivard froze it.

We ate & I worked on books & went to bed at 9: until time to go to work

Ivard went in to Stake basketball meeting never got home until 11:10.

Monday, January 16, 1961

It was real foggy comeing home & all day. I read paper & went to bed at 10: I was half froze.

Jerry woke me up at 3: & I took him in to Sugar Factory to see the Bishop Co. of 2nd Ward who called him about a job. He goes to work in morning. He had to go to Co. Dr. & we got groc. & came home & had supper. Jerry already had lime pie & Jello salad fixed & some cloths washed.

Ivard went to rules examination this morning & then to work this afternoon at 4: then doubled

Jerry - Gene & Ray left at 6:10 to go to Middleton to play ball.

I got books up & went to bed at 7:.

Dean put dishes & dish washer & him & Dale put away a couple batches of cloths

Kids got home at 10: I never did go to sleep. went to work at 11:

Sunday, January 15, 1961

They got up & ate & bathed & Ivard Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Priesthood & sunday school. I feel better today. I read N.T. until time to bath & get ready then me & little Kids went to sunday school.

Sunny this morning & when we came out of sunday school at 2: it was foggy & it was foggy rest of day & all nite.

Came home & Jerry fixed dinner & Gene froze a freezer of icecream.

Ray got left at church so sent to Kotters all day. Dean went to Allens after S.S.

We ate & I made a chart to keep track of our church attendance.

Ivard - Jackie & I had nap & then we all went to church. We got home at 9:30 & I laid down an hr. & went to work. Ivard didn't work, missed a brakeing trip.

Saturday, January 14, 1961

Jerry came home from California

Dale is 9 today. I didn't work tonite.

I feel awful this morning. I stayed in bed until noon & Read in N.T.

Ray got up & made hot cakes & Gene did chores. Some one called at 7:45 & Ivard took off, I thought to work but in a little bit he came back with Jerry, he came home on bus from Calif.

Gene & Jerry took Ray & Dean down by lake to pass a merit badge at guys place (at garbage dump-Bureau of garbage disposel)

Played scrabble then at 3: Dale & I followed Ivard to town & he went to work & I took Dale & bought him a pr. sunday shoes, pants, & 3 pr. shorts for his birthday. Came home & Kids had supper ready, & we ate. Jerry made Dale a birthday cake & I mixed up a freezer of icecream & Gene froze it.

Gene took car & him-Ray took Kurt & Roger to Adrian with them to ball game. got home at midnite. After Ivard came from work.

Friday, January 13, 1961

Today is Lyles birthday & we didn't even send him a card.

warmer today.

I came home from work & took Kids to school then I made me some pop corn & read paper & Ivard & I played a game of Scrabble until 11:30 & I went to bed. Ivard went after Kids & they woke me up they had T.V. on so loud. I laid & read N.T. Ray got supper & Kids ate.

Ivard got me up at 6:30 & we got ready & went in to our church to Stake 70's free supper. We came home at 9: & I had such a splitting head-ache that Ivard called in & laid me off. I had it before I went. I doctored & went to bed

Gene went in to Stake house to priesthood social. Ivard wouldn't let Ray go because he stayed home from school sick today. Ivard didn't work again today.

Thursday, January 12, 1961

I went back to work at Simplots

Sunny & not very cold. I got up after Kids went to school & Ivard never got up until noon, he went to back to bed after he took Dale to school.

Dean stayed home today but he doesn't feel very bad.

I spent most of morning working on books and all afternoon playing Scrabble with Ivard & Dean.

Ray didn't come home after school, stayed for road show practice & ball practice after that.

I cooked supper & we ate after Gene did chores. & he went in to practice ball at church & brought Ray home.

We all went to bed early. I got up at 10:30 & went back to work at Simplots tonite.

Ivard didn't work today.

Wednesday, January 11, 1961

sent Kay a letter & Mother & Bill

They called & said not to come to work until tomorrow.

Sunny & not so cold. Gene was only one that went to school today & he didn't feel very good. I took him up to bus, cold wind this morning.

I played scrabble with Ivard & tended Kids. At 2:15 I went in to sign up for unemployment & Ivard was called for 3:30 so he went with me & we had a hamberger, fries & milk Shake after I signed then he went to work & I picked Gene up at school & came home & wrote to Mother & Bill & finished Kays letter & mailed them when I went after Ivard.

I fixed supper & doctored Jackie & laid down with her & fell asleep. Ray woke me up at 10:45 & he had house all cleaned good. I went in & got Ivard & we went & had chow Meine, got home at 12:

foggy & icy this morning. fog tonite

Kids went to school. Dale was home again in bed. I fixed bills & I went to relief society & after I got groc. & went & dried cloths at U-Wash.  I came home & fixed lunch & we ate & Ivard went to Boise to work.

I washed some cloths.

We ate & Gene Ray & I went in pick-up to church house & Kids practiced ball. We picked up 3 Kids & they rode in back. It was really foggy. I wrote Kay then at 8: I went in chapel to Stake geneology meeting. Ivard came at 7:30, got off  work eary & after Kids were done they went over to Stake house & Ivards team played. Caldwell beat them 1 point. I went after meeting & razed referees & they got mad & 2 of our players got mad & got dressed (cause they didn't get to Play. I think Bishop & them was mad at me & 2.

Monday, January 9, 1961

Misty all morning & rained hard all afternoon.

Gene stayed home today & worked on his lessons all day. Dale was home in bed with bad cold.

I spent all morning cleaning out drawers & cupboards in my bed room & washing.

Ivard went to Boise to work at 3:30 (for) I iorned all afternoon & still didn't get done.

Gene did chores & we ate & Gene, Ray, & I went in to Mutual. & special "Whats My line" programe after then Ray & I went & dried a batch of cloths (my bed) while Gene watched Ivards team practice then we came home & made my bed & I wrote Jerry while I waited for Ivard to get home. Dean & Jackie vomited.

Sunday, January 8, 1961

I didn't have to go back to work tonite.

I read in bed "New Testament" Ivard - Gene & Ray went to priesthood & sunday school. I washed my & Jackies hair then she bathed with me & we went to sunday school. I took charge of class, I'm new President. After sunday school Ray went to Parma to "Order of Arrow" meeting & didn't come home until after church

Dale brought Paul Butler home.

Gail, Lynda & Kids came just as we got home from church

I cooked dinner & we ate. Gail & Gene froze a freezer of icecream

Dean didn't come home after sunday school stayed to Allen's again & came after church.

We all went to church before Gail left. Ray was youth speaker & Ivard had to talk 10 min. on genelogy - They did good. Came home & went to bed. Ivard didn't work.

Saturday, January 7, 1961

Nice day, not very cold. We got up & ate & Ivard & I took the icebox over to Ontario to G&B & left it to be fixed & they let us take one to use until it is. We bought Dean & Dale a bunk bed. stoped at Gails a few min.

Came home & Ivard got called to work so I took him in at 3: for 3:30. We droped Dean off at Allens & he stayed all nite.

I bought 2 bed spreads, 2 pads 4 sheets & 2 blankets for new beds & some canvas to make spring covers & laid some sheets away & got rugs out of laway. Came home & was till 10: makeing spring covers just got done when Kids got home from ball game so they put beds up while I went after Ivard then we made the new beds & Dale slept in his. watched T.V

Sunny & cold

Ivard came home from work & went to bed.

Kids went to school & Ivard took Dean & Dale. then I read paper & iorned nearly all day but didn't get them all done.

Ivard got up at noon & watched T.V.

Ivard went & got Kids from school.

Ray got supper & we ate & Ivard Gene & Ray went in to High school game & I played Scrabble with Dean & Dale & we watched T.V.

Ivard & Kids got home at 11: & we went to bed after show was over.

I got breakfast & Kids went to school - Ivard took little Kids

I iorned & washed.

little Kids got out of school at 1:30 for teachers meeting & Ivard went & got them.

We played scrabble then Ivard took little Kids to Primary & while he waited for them he got the licence for his pick-up.

Ray went over to the church after school to help primary Kids learn how to tie knots. He came home with Barlows.

I got supper & we ate & Ivard & I took Gene & Ray & a load of kids to Homedale to play ball I was score keeper - Kids won.

It was real foggy.

Ivard went to work at midnite.

Wednesday, January 4, 1961

Frosty this morning but Sunny

I got up at 6:45 & cooked breakfast & Kids went to catch bus. I got books up & Ivard took little Kids to school.

11 degrees, the coldest this yr. in Nampa. 35 degrees this afternoon

I played scrabble with Ivard & washed cloths.

This afternoon I went to bank, post office & paid bills & got some groc. & licence plates for car. Came home & Kids were home from school.

Ray got supper & we ate

Gene took Ray over to a scout meeting & they brought him home.

We played scrabble & watched T.V.

Got letter from Jerry

Ivard didn't work again today.

Sunny. 34 degrees today.

I got up & fixed breakfast & Kids went back to school today, after holidays.

I washed 4 batches of cloths & Ivard took down Xmas tree & took drapes down & shook them & fixed them on track right then I washed the woodwork & window I made my last batch of tea, I'm not going to buy any more, & some pop corn.

At 2: I went to bank, Pd. gas bill & went to Caldwell & had Int. drawn up on all our bank accounts & put my dimes in bank $9.60. Went to sale & got Kay some ties & socks for his mission & Gene, Ray & Dean & got some for Genes birthday. Came home after I got feed & Ray had supper ready

Ivard & I went in to ward leadership

Ivard has to talk in church sunday nite & I helped him find books when we came home. Watched T.V. until it went off air.

Monday, January 2, 1961

Sunny & cold.

I got up & cooked a big breakfast, bacon, eggs, toast, cocoa & grapefruite then Kids did dishes & I got iorner out & Iorned all day, didn't even make a dent in my iorning.

Kids played games then went outside & played awhile. Mrs. Perry came & got Mike & visited awhile, he went home at 2:

Ray defrosted icebox & scrubbed & waxed Kitchen.

We ate supper early & they did dishes.

Ivard, Gene & Ray went to Middleton & Kids played Kuna & won. Gene made 28 points.

Kids went to bed at 7:30 & I went with Jackie & went to sleep.

Ivard didn't work again today.

Sunday, January 1, 1961

Ivard didn't work today.

Foggy awhile this morning but sunny all day.

Gene did chores and Ivard - Gene & Ray went to Priesthood & sunday school. Ivard went up to Rail Road after priesthood & marked up then went home.

Fast day so we didn't have breakfast.

At 11:30 me & little Kids went to sunday school. Came home at 2: & cooked dinner & we ate & I read todays paper & the papers from all week while we were in Salt Lake. I washed 2 or 3 batches of cloths & baked 5 dz. icebox cookies out of freezer. Gene showed Ray how to do dishes in new dish washer.

Ivard & Jackie have such a cold they doctored & went to bed at 7: & the rest of us went to church. They ask me to be President of Gospel Doctrine class. Dean brought Mike Perry home to stay all nite. I watched T.V. until it went off air.
