First day of school

rained all nite & most of today

I came home from work & stopped at Jerrys & brought him & Ray home & Ray took Car & went to Caldwell to see Parole officer about going to school. Kids had all gone to school & Ivard was in bed Jerry left at 9:30 to go work for Ray until he got back then Jerry brought car home & Ivard took him home & went & got his check. I went to bed at 9:30 & got up at 1:30 & figured out check & Ivard went & Pd bills & I made out payments & worked on books. Ivard went to work at 4: Dean & Jackie came from school. & went up town to get Jackies school stuff Dale came home & went & cleaned D.q. yard. I was so sick (Period) I laid off & went to bed after supper Dean brought Jerry home & they fixed supper then Jerry went to work 6: to close

Gails 9th anniversary

cloudy & cool.

I came home from work half froze & went to bed & read paper & went to sleep.

Gail brought Dale & Jackie home. Ivard, Dean, & Dale went to Priesthood & Ivard came & took Sis to Primary Sunday school, they woke me up when they came home & I got up & cooked dinner. Jerry & Ray came home for dinner & Jerry went & got some icecream for desert. Ray brought his cloths & iorned them after we ate, at 2:30, we all went up to Gails but Jerry, he went with Betty, & took them a big table lamp for their 9th wedding anniversary. We came home at 3:30 & I got ready & went to bed & Ivard went to work. Jerry came back & Dean took them home. They both had to work 6: to close. I took Dean & Dale to Church & Sis & I went to bed.

got down to 36° last nite. sunny & breezy today & warm. I came home from work & changed my bed & washed it, bedspread & my rugs & Dean & Ivard moved everything in his Deans room & cleaned good & changed beds & put electric blankets on for winter & I washed their drapes. I went to bed at 12: & woke up at 3: & got up & did some more washing. Ivard went & got Jackie this morning then at 3: he took her out to Lyles & Barbra was going to wash & set her hair then he went up to Rays apt. & got some powder for his sore leg & took to D.q., came home & did chores & went to work at 4: Jerry came & took Dean on D.q truck all afternoon. I washed 8 batches Gail took Dale & Jackie to show after Lyle brought Sis home. I went to bed at 6:30

Ray got home from Utah

rained early this morning, black clouds & sun all day. real cold wind. I came home from work & went right to bed & at 12:30 Ray & Jerry came in on my bed & woke me up then Dean & Dale went with them, in my car, up to Gails to get Debbie & Jackie & go to show at 1: with tickets Lyle brought them. Dean had bottles washed & I got up & made jam with berries Ivard picked yesterday & washed a batch of cloths. I got 27 pts jam. Ivard went & got Kids from show & left them to Gails all nite. Dale had to tend Kids first thing in morning

I went to bed at 6: until time to go to work, have to work throught week end again this week.

Ivards day off, him & Dean went up to drawing at Wards at 8: for half hr.

Cooler & sunny _ breeze

I came home from work & went right to bed, I was dead & froze.

Ivards day off. He picked a case of berries & some for supper

Dean took Jackie out to have Barbra do her hair & left her then he went & got her and they took D.q. truck out alone. They were home at 4:, truck broke down. Dean went to Park car at D.q & foot slipped off gas & he run into building & made little hole in it. Jerry had to work at D.q. all day as Ray didn't get home from Utah

I got up at 2:30, relief society Teachers came.  Ivard & I went to store & we ate supper & Dale went to Fair with Lyle & Dean went up & tended Gails Kids so he could go to F. & Jackie went & stayed all nite. I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & changed cloths & Lyle came & took Jackie & I & Barbra up to church to go to "Pine Top" to Mothers & daughters outing. I rode with Del Keen Bean and Barbra & Jackie went with Norma Yorgensen.  We got up there at 11:30 & ate dinner together. I had to ask Blessing. We had tons of good food, fried chicken & all Kinds of good salads & cake It was cloudy & sunny, cool & warm but pretty nice. Jackie went swimming. We visited. I was one of last to leave (our car) it was 5:45 when I got home & I was dead, I went to bed until time to go to work. Lyle brought Jackie & Dale home about 7:

I came home from work & went right to bed

Kids went to Piano lessons at 10: then this afternoon Dean went up to D.q. & worked learning how so he can work lunch hr this winter.

I woke up at 1: so I got up & sent Ivard to store before he went to work at 4: I washed some cloths & made a jello salad for relief society tomorrow & cooked supper Dale & Jerry took D. q. truck out all afternoon and when they came at 5:30 we ate & Jerry went to work at D.q. 6: to close. I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & went right to bed & read paper & right to sleep.

Ivard picked case of berries for Lyle & had bath & came to bed at 1:30 to 2:30 then we got up & went to bank & got a draft & went to Post office & mailed Gene his money & mother a letter. Came home & washed 3 batches of cloths & hung out & Ivard left for work.

Dean & Jackie took D.q truck out alone at 1:30 as Jerry was working. We stoped & gave Jerry a letter & He gave us a drink & some new crackers & nuts they are selling.

Dale went & cleaned D.q. yard & went out to Lyles all day.

I came home from work & went right to bed & read paper & went to sleep. Never heard nothing until Ivard woke me up at 3: Ivard Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & Ivard came home & took Sis to Sunday school. Ivard let Dale & Jackie ride their bikes out to Lyles, Sis got home at 3:30 so hot & tired. Ivard went to work at 3:50 with Dusty & I got up & ate & got books up & wrote letter to Gene & mother.

I took Kids to church & came home & went to bed until time to go to work. Lyle brought Jackie & Dale home & Dean went to Fireside. Dean was put in Fireside President while he was at Valley Forge. Ivard got through work early was home by 8:45. I went to work at 11:

Dean took Jackie out to Lyles & left her & barbara gave her a permanent (first) she came home at 1:30 when Lyle went back to work after lunch. Dean cleaned house & at 1:45 her & Jackie took D. q. truck out alone, Jerry went to McCall at 4: A.M & got back just in time for work 6: to close. Ivard cleaned front walk & watched ball game & went to work at 3:45.

Dale went on Milk route with Gail & came back at 5:30 & went & cleaned D.q. yard. I got up at 1: & iorned until 5:30, 56 pieces, then got ready & went & got gas & took Ray to his apt. to get suit case to go to Utah with Murry then came home & got Dale & Dean, Dale, Jacki & I went to Evelyns Elmores to Nancys T. Party & surprise birthday Party on Edith stoped at D. q. & had supper. Came home at 9: went to work

I stoped on way home from work & picked Ray up & brought him home, his day off, works 6: to close tonite. Him & Dean messed around all day up to Gails, up buying cloths, wanted me to go & spend my money but I didn't have any_ to tired.

Ivards day off, worked in yard & at 12:30 had to go up & take student trip as yard master then he got called breaking to Weiser

I went to bed at 9:45 & Kids woke me up at 11:30 so I got up & washed 3 batches of cloths & went to bed at 2:30 & woke up at 5: stayed in bed until time to go to work. Dale went & tended Kids at Lyles this morning & never got home till 5: Jackie went on D.q. truck with Jerry noon till 5: then Jerry & Dean went home teaching

Dale cleaned D.q. yard & went out to Lyles to play in after noon.

Unemployment office called Jerry & Ivard went up & took him to see about it, not as good as he's got Jerry took Jackie on route (D.q.) all afternoon & he came to Supper then went to work at D.q. 6: to close

Ivard came to bed at noon We woke up at 3:30 & went to store & got $30. worth of groc. Dean had supper nearly ready when we got home.

Ivard & I went up to Rays apt. at 8: to Stanley Party. Came home at 9:30 & laid down until time to go to work.

I stoped on way from work & got Ray & Jerry & came home & Dean went to Caldwell with them. Ray got papers from Parole board to go to college. He went to work at 9:30 & Dean went to Jerrys until noon helping him with his genelogy then he droped JErry off at D.q. to get truck & Jerry came & took Sis all afternoon.  Dean cleaned house

Ivard went back to work at Nampa, after weeks vacation.

I came home from work & read paper & washed batch of rags & 2 blankets & went to bed at 10:, Kids woke me up at 2:30. Debbie is staying here & Stanley & Terry Ivard went & got Ray & then he picked 2 cases of berries, one Dean took out to Hurrens when they went for Piano lesson Dale went on bike first so he could get home & play with Kids

Rays day off_ Jerry worked for him, he took Car & went to Caldwell then he had to go to work at noon & Dean took him up. Dean made donuts this afternoon

Ivard had bath & cleaned up & went back to work after his weeks Vacation 4: to 12:

I went up town & got me 3 shirts at I.D. & got pr hose free. stoped at D.q. & got milk for Kids, Dean made them hot cakes, 2 ate there came home & went to bed at 7: till time to go to work

I went back to work at Simplots for fall & winter

I figured out our payment while Ivard & Dean picked 2 cases of berries & changed all the Kids beds & got them washed. Then Dale & I went up town to bank & Paid bills. Met Jerry & Jackie up town, Jerry came down this morning & she went with him. I bought Dale 4 pr shoes, everyday_gym_sunday & school & got Sis 2 pr & 3 dresses for school & got me 3 pr loafers for work.

went to Dairy q. & had lunch & Jerry took Jackie out on Dq truck all afternoon. Came home & Dale went out to Lyles to play & brought Stanley back to stay all nite. Ivard & Sis went up to Gails & brought Debbie home to stay all nite. I made out payments & Ivard & I rode up & mailed them & he went to Rail Road & marked up. Came home & Dean had supper ready. I went to bed until time for work

I was too tired to fix dinner so at 2: Ivard took us up to D.q. & bought our dinner & we brought Dean home after & went out to Lyles & played penochle until 6: then came home & got ready & we all went to church. Came home & had a gal. of green River Ray gave us & went to bed. I sure feel awful.

got up & washed up all the dirty cloths & Ivard & Dean picked 5 cases berries for M&W.

I washed my hair & all the comb & brushes. Dale went & cleaned D.q. yard & had hair cut & I washed his hair then this afternoon Dean went & had hair cut and I washed his & Ivards. Dean did up all the camping dishes. We got supper & ate & Dean did dishes & Ivard & I had a bath & at 6:30 we all went out to Lyles & Dean tended all the Kids & Ivard & I went to Boise with Lyle & B. to tournament, got beat. stoped in Nampa & I bought their supper. got Kids & came home midnite. Jackie went on D.q truck all afternoon with Jerry & he came for supper

Friday, August 14, 1964

Cold in nite, frost on car & everything when I woke up at 5:50 & went to toilet Ivard got up & made bon fire & charcol fire & we sat & got warm, Ivard held his new chair (lawn) over fire today it melted all the back & seat plastic webbing, yesterday he backed over my little suit case & broke it all to pieces & the car mirror i Had in it. I cooked bacon & Ivard cooked eggs & we got Kids up at 8: & ate & they did dishes & Ivard & Kids went swimming until noon then came back & played Scrabble, I crocheted had facial, played penochle Salitare while they were gone then crocheted & wrote a letter to Gene. Fixed dinner & ate at 3:30 & Kids did up dishes then Dale went Swimming about 5:30. Dean & Ivard & I packed car to go home & at 6: Jackie & Dean went swimming & Ivard & I played a game of Scrabble then we drove up to Plung & Ivard went swimming & I crocheted we left for home about 8:30 & got here about 10:30.

cooler today but nice, clouded up in afternoon. I made hot cakes & we ate & Kids did dishes & walked up swimming & Ivard & I played 3 games Scrabble & I washed out some cloths then Kids came & we had lunch & played Hearts then Kids went Swimming again & Ivard gathered wood & I got books up & we played Pencole. I had me a facial this morning after breakfast

We ate supper & Ivard did dishes and we played Scrabble until after dark then sat by bon fire awhile & went to bed at 9:, its cooler tonite.

We are camped in a bend of the river & I have my bed a foot from bank so I can hear the water white clover & pines all around, just a big sized room cleared of pines where we are. set tent up on back with 2 small pines in back of it bon fire in front & tables behind bed on river.

real nice today. every one was up when I woke up & Ivard had bon fire & charcol fire going. still raining but cleared off time we ate & was sunny & nice. I fixed bacon & Dale made toast & Dean set table & made Tang drink & we ate & Dean & Dale did dishes, got our bedding dried out & Ivard & Kids went swimming most of morning & I Crocheted. They came back & we played a game of Easy Money then cooked dinner & ate about 3: then Ivard & I played Scrabble & Kids played around in river then Ivard & I made our bed right on bank of river with a table at our head with blanket on to cut draft & one on other side & a log at our feet. We went swimming just before dark & stayed until 9: & came back & had bon fire & marshmellows had a watermellon between breakfast & supper. went to bed at 10:

Went to Silver Creek Camping_ Ivards vacation. got laid off at Simplots.

We got laid off at Simplots for few days. I came home & started packing to go up to Silver Creek Camping. Ivard got up & picked berries until 3:, 5½ cases. I laid down for hr. Dean, Dale & Jackie went out to Hurrens to Piano lesson at 9:45 & came home at noon & Dean & I took 4 crates of berries up to Albertsons & sold them & bought $36. worth of groc. & came home & Ivard packed car & at 4: went & got gas & a watermellon & left for Meridian & took 2 cases berries to Howard Brumble then headed for Silver Creek. got here at 8: & put up tent & got beds fixed & ate supper & all got to bed early. It really poured & thundered & lighteninged during nite. Ivard & Sis slept out & Sis came & got in with me & Ivard slept in car.

Ivard came back to Nampa to work.

I came home from work & Ivard drove in just ahead of me from Glenns Ferry & we went right to bed. and Dean, Dale & Jackie took lawn mower out to Lyles & he fixed it and mowed his lawn. Barbra washed Jackies hair & curled it real cute & they made donuts & had lunch. They came home at 1: & got us up. We just got up & Rail Road called & said Ivard was bumped out of Glenns Ferry so he went up to yard office & marked up in Nampa & I went back to bed.  Kids Dean went on D.q truck with Jerry all after noon. Ivard & Dale got supper & I got up & ate & Ivard & I & Jackie droped Dean & Dale off at church to Pass hand bills for Scouts & we went to Boise to some rail road guys place & borrowed a tent to go up mountains stoped at D.q. on way home & had drink at 9:30 laid down until time to go to work.

hot. I came home from work & went to bed & read paper & slept until 1:, I was dead. Dale wake me up then for dinner, Jerry had sent home from D.q. hamberger drink, corn chips & nuts, candy & icecream bars. Dean cooked rest of apricots last nite so I run them through & bottled 23 qts quick He & Dale went to Priesthood then Dean came & took Sis to S.S.

I had long talk with Gail, he was out to Lyles, on phone all about his trip. When I got first done I went up & got gas & Dean & Dale went to Church. I got books up & me & Sis went to bed.

I stoped at Jerry on way from work & got him & came home & Lyle brought Dale home on his way to work & Jerry & Dale went & picked me 2½ bu apricots & I went to bed but never did get to sleep. Ivard got ride home & got her about 9: He picked some berries & watered & watched ball game & went to store for me. He had bath & just got sleep when Schulthies came so he got up & visited then we ate after they left. I got up at 1: & bottled 50 qts apricots & pineapple then Dean fixed supper & we ate out on lawn & Jackie & I took Ivard to catch train & we stoped at D.q & picked up Dales bike. Dale went on D.q. truck all afternoon with Jerry then cleaned D.q. yard & went & tended Gails Kids & stayed all nite. Ray came after work & I took him home when I took Ivard. got home at 8:25 & went to bed & read paper & went to sleep at 9:30. Dean took Jackie out to Lyles at 9: & she stayed until noon when he went & got her & Dale. Barbra fixed her hair for her. Dean went on D.q. truck with Jerry all afternoon.

I woke up at 1: & read my letters, Alb. had his arm cut off today (operated on) is real bad from Previous operation last week thrombosis. I got books up & washed cloths & couldn't go back to sleep so I got up.

Dean picked a case of berries this morning for Mrs Hurren & one tonite.

We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work

Jerry got home from Utah

I got home at 8:25 & went right to bed, I was froze, turned blanket on high then this afternoon I melted I woke up at 12: & Dean had just brought Ivard home, came on freight he changed jobs & doesn't have days off till Mon. & Tues. He did chores & came to bed. I had such a head ache I took 2 asprin & never woke up until 5: when I got up the house was spic & span & we'd been invited out to Lyles for supper at 6:

Had real good supper. Came home at 7: Lyle went to Boise to play ball in Tournment & Dale stayed & tended Kids & all nite. We took Ivard to catch train at 8:15 then stoped at D.q. & Jerry gave us a drink.  We stayed until 9:30 watching wrecker pull car back on road that had slid off down over the creek. I laid down hr. & drove alone to work.

I read paper in bed then got up & went up town & got some berry cups so Kids could pick berries, Albertsons will take all up have Dale got up & picked 7 cups then went up to clean D.q. yard, didn't, came home & went out to Lyles all afternoon Dean & I took 2½ cases berries & sold Albertsons for 7.50.

I went & signed for unemployment at 2:30 & Sis & he went in & Pd. lights for me. Came home & worked on books, & laid down awhile then patched. Dean fixed supper & we ate & he did dishes. I had bath & laid down until 10:45 then got up & went to work. Called back for 5 or 6 days then we are supposed to have few days off before fall run, I had to drive alone

Jerry went to Salt Lake

Ray went to Caldwell rodeo

hot. I read paper in bed & got up late. I washed 6 batches of cloths & hung out & crocheted most of day.

Dean Dale & Jackie went out to Hurrens for music lesson at 9:50 & got home at 11:45. Rays day off & he walked down & when Kids got home Dean took him up town awhile. Some guy, Mrs Hurren sent here, sold us a set of music books for $150., the University Society, regular 350.

Dale rode his bike out to Lyles all afternoon.  Dean picked berries & Mrs Hurren came & got a case.

I went up to D.q. at 6: & met jerry when he got off work & we went & voted in Primary then I took him home. He worked for Ray today. Jerry left for Salt Lake on 8:15 train to see Dr. I came home & we ate & watched T.V. went to bed at 10:30. got called back to work at Simplots Tomorrow

Ivard went back to G.F.

Ivard got up & did chores & picked a few berries. I read paper & figured out check & made out payments to mail & at 11: Ivard & I went up to bank, paid bills & went to post office, went to bank for Gail & made deposit. went to Jerry awhile then took him to bank then we went to D.q. & had lunch & Jerry came home with us for awhile then Glen Carter came & got him

I put small turkey in to roast & worked on my books all afternoon When we got home Dean had utility room all cleaned & Jackies bedroom fixed in it.

I fixed supper & we ate & Dean did dishes & Ivard & I played a game of Scrablle then we rode up to Kids but they'd gone to M_ Men came home & Ivard got ready & left for Glenns Ferry at 9:30. Watched T.V.

Ivard, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & I red paper in bed then got up at 10: & got ready & Ivard came & got Sis & I we went to Sunday S. & Testimony_meeting. stoped at store & got a few groc. & came home at 2: & ate dinner then we all took Dale up to church at 3: to Pass fast offering envelopes & we went out to Lyles new place & saw it & Ivard laid out on porch & had nap. Came home at 5: & picked Ray up from work at D.q & he came down & got rest of his stuff & me & Dean took it to his apt. & we changed his liveing room around. Came home at 8: & Ivard, Dale & Jackie were gone so we went out to Lyles & they were haveing marshmello roast. We came back & Ray bought Dean & I shake at D.q & we went to Red Steer & Ray got his supper & we took him home & we stayed ½ hr & came home at 10: & all went to bed. Ivard was already in bed.

Ivard came from G.F about 8: & fixed Kids bikes then went up to help Lyle move. Brumbel's came about 11: & got their 3 calves so I called Ivard & he came & helped load them then went back to Lyles all day.

Dean cleaned house & I finished stretching crochet work & washed quite a few cloths & changed my bed. & crocheted. Ivard got home about 5: & picked some berries & we made a big pot of spagetti & at 5:30 Lyle & family came & we had supper. out on lawn & Dean did dishes & we played. Penochle until dark then went in house & played until 11: & they went home & Ivard & I went up to D. q. & had a drink he he bathed & we went to bed.
