Sunday, January 31, 1965

Sunny & warm. everyone woke up too late to go to conference. Ivard got up & took Dale on his paper route at 5:30 & came back to bed. I read paper & got up at 10:45 & made a jello salad for supper. Jerry got up & took Ray to D.Q. at 10: had to open. Jerry & Dean left for conference at 1:, Gail & family came just as they were leaving. They watched ball game & I cleaned radishes & onions & washed batch of cloths & worked on books. Ivard had to go to work at 2:30 so Gail took him up on his way home. Jerry went to work at D.Q. 5: to close & Ray came home. Ivard called at 7:30 & Jackie & I went up to Rail road & got him & he went to bed until 11: & while I got ready Ivard dashed up & got Jerry & I left for work at 11:30.

wheel broke off dodge

rained during nite & early this morning. Ivard got up & took Dale on his route. I got up & cooked a real good breakfast for everyone bacon & eggs, hot biscuits, choclate & grapefruit then Ivard & Jackie went up town & got new tires (2) on Desoto & Ray took Dodge & got thing in motor to make contact to start it, fixed & just as he got out here by neighbors, comeing home, he broke front axel off.

Ivard left on Marsing local at 11:45 got home at 2: AM. I washed cloths & patched all day. at noon Dale left on bike to see if Lynda would come & take me to town, get hair cut & clean D.Q. yd. I made chow mein & we ate at 4: & at 5: Lynda came & took me to Wards & I got 6 panals for front room. Jerry & Ray rode to work & Dean to ball games & they walked home at 1:30. Dale came after dark. I put up curtains & watched til until it went off air. Kids cleaned house today. My nite off.

Ivard got bumped to brakeman extra board.

Warmer today & windy. rained this evening.

I Came home from work & went to bed a hr. then Jerry woke me up & we went to town & I went to Superior Western & had my hair cut & tint then we went to two or three stores & got groc. $53. Came home at 4: & fixed supper & ate & Jerry & Ray went to work at D.Q. at 5:30. Dean went too & went to ball game. Me, Dale & Jackie went to Gail until 8:45 & came home. We went to get Debbie to stay all nite but she got mad & wouldn't come. Jackie bawled for hr.

Ivard was home when we got home & he & I went up to R.R. for him to mark up, got bumped to extra brakeman board. We went to D.Q. & I had fish burger & waited until 10:45 for Dean to get out of ball game & came home. My nite off.

Gene's birthday _ 21

It rained all nite long & all today. I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:30. Ivard had gone to New Medows to work.

Kids woke me up at 11: so I got up & worked on books ect. Jerry & Ray went & got mail & Ray had hair cut & I made a Jello fruit salad & a macaroni, cheese, shrimp salad for supper & we ate at 5: when Kids got home. Jackie didn't get home from Primary until after we were through. Jerry & Ray went to work at 5:40 & at 6:20 Mr. Johnson called to see where they were. I called D.Q. at 6:30 & they had just come. Had flat tire. Jerry got off hr. & went & signed up for nite school. I went to bed until time to go to work. I'm so tired.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed, I was dead. Ray woke me up at 3: so I got up. Ivard & Ray went over to other place & got all the rest of our junk & cleaned garage & Ivard built feeder for cows.

I fixed supper & we ate at 5: & Ivard took Wallys truck home & Ray - Dale Jackie & I went & got him & took Ray to work at D.Q. 6: to close, after we got mail, & brought Jerry home he worked 11: to 6: I went to bed at 6:30 until time to go to work & Jerry took Dean & Dale to Hurrens to Piano L. Ivard & Jackie did dishes & watched T.V. Ivards nite off.

Had drape rods installed & got bedroom & dineing room drapes up.

snowed some today, I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 10: at 11: I woke up to such a racket, Ivard was down in basement makeing me fruit shelves got them done & fruit on. The whole end of utility room. Ray went to town & ordered lumber & they brought it right out.

Mr. & Mrs Carroll came at noon & were here until 6:30 installing all my drape rods & getting drapes up in 4 bedrooms & dineing room. It cost $27., inc. tension Pulls. I got supper & Dean took Jackie to dance Practice & Jerry brought her home when he came from work. He worked 11: to 6: Ray went to work 6: till close.

Jerry took Kids to Mutual & I went to bed until time to go to work. Ivard watched T.V. his nite off.

Monday, January 25, 1965

Sent Gene birthday card & his $80. & letter

It started to snow after 7:45 & when we came out to come home it was blizzarding so hard could hardly see to come home, good 3 in. of snow & slippery. I went to bed as soon as I read paper.  Phone woke me up at 1:30 & I got up & washed a batch of cloths, made jello salad for supper & wrote to Gene to send with his money & birthday Card.  I fried sausage & Jerry fixed rest of supper & we ate when Kids went came home school.

Jerry & Ray went up town this morning. Ray had to be to work at D.q. at 6:30 to close, so Jerry & Dean took him & went up & mailed Genes letter & went to their Type class at 7: Dale rode with them & took his bike & cleaned D.q yard & came home. I went to bed at 6:30. Ivard got home & had his miles in so has to lay off next trip. I went to work at 11:

I got up at 5: & took Dale on his Paper route it was blowing so hard came home at 6:40 & went to bed & never woke up until 9:30 when Jackie woke me up to say cows were in neighbors It snowed & blizzared from 10:30 until about 1:30 Jerry _Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & Jerry & Dean came home & took Jackie to Sunday S. Ray was still in bed until noon, got up twice & got cows in. I got up & made me some ice tea & read paper & worked on puzzle.

I made a beef steak, vegetable pie for dinner with biscuits on.  We ate at 2: & I had a nap. I got up & washed Dean Dale & Jerry & Jackies & my hair. When I did Jackies she had some more bugs so I treated it with her medecine & washed it again & Put it up on curlers. Jerry & Kids took Ray to work at D.q 5: to close & Jerry, Dean & Dale went to church & Jackie & I had a bath & at 8: I went to bed. I went to work at 11:

snowed all morning hard then rained most of day. Windy Tonite. Ivard left for New Meadows at 8:, he drove. He took Dale on his paper route & came home & had bath & got ready.

We changed all the Kids beds & I washed 7 batches of cloths & did up every piece of iorning 48 pieces. Jerry _ Dean, Dale & Jackie scrubbed & cleaned up house & at noon Ray got up & him & Dean took Dale up to Provedent Federal to paper boys meeting at 2: & took Jackie to Debbies awhile. I got through at 6:45 & watched T. V.

Home teachers came.

Jerry & Ray went to work at D.q 6: to close & Dean went with them & went To ball game.

slippery & snowed a little when I came home from work. Sun came out & roads dried off this afternoon. I came home & went right to bed & read paper. Ray got up at 9:45 & went to Caldwell to see his parole officer. He woke me up when he came home at noon & I got up & washed 4 batches of cloths & made a baked hash & put in oven for supper & Jerry Ray & I went to town & got rest of drape rods. Came home & ate when Kids got home & I made one of Jerrys drapes. Jerry & Ray went to work at D. q. at 6: & Dean went with them & went to ball game. My nite off

snowed 5 inches during nite It was 31° when I came home, took me a hr. Ivard took Dale on his paper route & left for New Meadows. Kids were to school & Jerry & Ray were asleep. I went to bed & read paper. 10: when I went to sleep. I woke up at 1:15 & got up & Jerry_Ray & I went to town & got all the curtain rods for house & my drapes I had made for My & Rays bedroom & dineing room $116. bought Dale a new coat & him & Ivard a face hat. Came home & Jerry fixed supper, had roast on, & we ate when Kids got home at 4:30. Jackie went to Primary. Gail came right after. We got home from town & we gave him a shirt for his birthday

Jerry & Ray went to work at D.q & took Dale in to Provedent Federal to News Boys meeting. I went to bed until time to go to work

Jerry got back from Utah

foggy all day again & real icy comeing home.  I stoped at Bus depot & got Jerry. He walked down there from train. I read paper & went to bed at 10: & Ray woke me up at 4: Jerry fixed supper & we ate when Kids came

I took Jerry & Ray to work at D. q at 5: 40 & took Dale to clean yard & we came home & Dean & Dale went to Hurren's to Piano lesson. I went to bed until time to go to work.  Ivard was home when I got up.  He went & got Kids from work at D.q at 12:15.

got my drivers license

hazy as usual. I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:, Ray was still asleep. I woke up at 1: & Ray was gone so I got up & worked on my books & washed 4 batches of cloths.

Ivard went back to New Meadows again took Dale on paper route first.

Ray got home at 3:30 & brought SIs at 4:15 I took Jackie & left her at dancing & went & got my drivers licence its been expired 1 yr Sept.  They weren't going to let me, too late, but they said I could start & finish tomorrow. got done, 94. I came home & at 5:45 Dean I took Ray to work at D.q. 6: to Close & got Jackie. Dean & Dale went too & we sat in D.q. while Dale cleaned yd. then we went up to Gails until 7: then we went up to Rail Road Credit Union & Paid them & droped Dean & Dale off at Mutual & Jackie & I came home I went to bed until time to go to work

Ivard came home tonite

hazzy & dreary again it was real slippery when I came home from work. fog froze on roads. Jerry took Dale on Paper route & took them to go school, missed bus. I went to bed for hr. & got up & Jerry, Ray & I went up town to bank & Post O. & paid bills & got licence Plates for both cars & Ray put them on dodge at Service Station when I paid bill then when we came home he put them on De Soto. Ray bought us a hamberger & drink & we came home at 2: & I went to bed, couldn't sleep. got up at 3:30 & Ray & I went in & I went to Dr. gained 1½ lbs went after drivers licence but was too late so we came home & ate, Jerry had it ready. I went to bed 5:30 to time to go to work & Ray went to work at 6: to close, took Dale up to Provedent Federal first to a newspaper meeting, his superior brought him home.  Jerry & Dean went to H.S to first Type Class.  I droped Jerry off at bus on my way to work

I went back to work after a week off sick sent letter to Mother & Gene

Dale got up & went on Paper route at 4:30 AM. Jerry, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & Jerry went to work at D.q. 10: to 5:, opened u. I laid in bed & read paper & worked on Puzzle. got up at 10:30 & ate & put ham in oven & got books up & wrote a letter to gene & mother & Dale & I went & mailed them & one Ray wrote Gene (first) at R.R at 3:40 then waited for Jerry to get off at 5: & we came home. Ray came to work at 5: till close.

Paul Butler was here when we got back to see Dale. Gail & Kristene came for awhile. They watched "Wizzard of Oz" in color & went to church. Jerry_ Dean, Dale & Jackie & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Dale got birthday card from Lyle hes moved to La Grande, Oregon

foggy & hazzy all day.

Ivard got up & unloaded hay & Dale went on paper route. Dale came home & went to bed. Ivard left for New Medows at 8: A.M. I read Drivers Manual & washed my bed spread & bed & towels. Kids got up at 11: & had hot cakes. I read new Good Housekeeping & cleaned my bedroom. Dean cleaned up house. Jerry & Ray went & got their D.q. checks & went up town.  Jerry got new bedspread & rugs for his room, he had on laway & came home just as we were eating supper at 5:30. Jerry, Ray Dean, Jackie & I played game first. Jerry & Ray went to work 6: to close, 12:15 I greesed Ivards new boots & Dales to water proof them. watched early movie & went to bed. Dale left on bike at 7: to Priesthood Party, bowling & ate at Smiles got home at 10: 35.

stars & moon were so bright all nite & it was foggy & hazzy all day.  Dale went on paper route & came home & Kids went to school.

I worked on my coin collection ½ day, catalogueing it. washed some cloths.

Ray & Jerry didnt get up until about 11: Ray went to work at D.q. 11:30 to 3: & 5:30 to 10: Jerry worked 6: to 2:15 A.M.

Jerry & I fixed supper & we ate at 5: Dale went to Buttlers after school & we picked him up when we took Ray & he cleaned D. q yard while Jerry & I went to Dobbs & got Car, $78. then Dale & I came home. I went to bed at 8: & got up at 9:30 when Ivard got home & we rode up & got his check & brought Ray home. Ray & I watched late show & Ivard went to bed.

Dale was 13 today, had a party 11 Kids

Sunny & nice. I woke up at 4: AM & never did get to sleep again. Ivard got up & took Dale on paper route & brought truck of hay home & let Dale drive car all alone in thick fog. at 7:30 Jackie & I took Ivard up to depot to go to New Meadows. At 8:30 I took Jackie to school & went to Dobbs & got Jerry, he took Dodge & left to have brakes relined, couldn't get it today, had to have new drum & took them all day to find one. Came home & made sandwiches & got ready for Dales Party & patched my pants then at 2:30 we went & got Sis from school & took her to library & did little shopping & droped her off at Primary & Ray at work & came home & had Dales party, 10 boys came then Gail & family. Jerry took Kids home & at 7: he took Dean to High S to debate & he signed him & Dean up for evening Type class, Jerry got some one to work so he could sign up $25 apiece.

Lyle is 29 today

Sunny & nice in morning cloudy all afternoon.

Jerry took Dale on paper route & went back to bed. Kids went to school. I got up at 9: & ate & worked on books Ray & Jerry never got up until 10: & about 10:30 they went to Town & at 11:30 Ray went to work. I iorned & patched all day long. have every thing that has been in iorning for weeks, yr.

Jerry left a little early & took Dale to clean D.q. yard then Jerry worked 6: to close & Ray & Dale came home & Dean & Dale went to Piano lesson at 6:30. I watched T.V & Jackie went to bed & Ray went to show at Pix & brought Jerry home. Ivard got home about 10:30 & we went to bed.

foggy all morning. Ivard took Dale on his paper route & at 7:30 left for New Meadows. Kids went to school. I never got up upntil 10:30, I sure am sick this time. I washed 6 batches of cloths & iorned all afternoon, 48 pieces.

Made Pea soup for supper & we ate when Kids got home & Jerry & Dean took Jackie to dance Practice & Dale to clean D.q yard & they got hair cut then Jerry went to work 6: to close & Ray Dean, Dale & Jackie came home Dean did dishes & Ray, Dean & Dale went to Mutual & Jackie & I went to bed at 8: I had to get up & go get Jerry at midnite. laid off S.

Ivard got up & went & loaded a truck of hay & got stuck. Jerry, Ray & I went to get a trailer hitch on car to haul cows but one wouldn't fit so we droped Ray off at work at D. q 11: to 6: & went & picked Ivard up at old place & came home & he borrowed neighbors pick-up & him & Jerry hauled cows & rest of stuff

I washed cloths & made Jackies drapes & washed them & did some patching. made ham loaf & escalloped potatoes & we ate when Kids came. Jerry went to work 6: to close & Ray came home & got ready for his Stanley Party. had 7 besides us & dealer. after they left Ivard & Kids went to bed & Ray & I watched show.  Ray went & got Jerry.  I laid off.  My bad period.

Dean & Donna Winters came

snowed on & off all day 31° when I came home from work. Dean & Donna had just stoped in, before I got here, on their way home from a business trip to Canada. stayed a hr. I went to bed & Dean & Dale went to Priesthood. Jerry took Jackie to S.S. & went to work at D.q for Ray. Ray is sick.

I got up at 3: & Ivard & I Played 2 games Scrabble & watched T.V. Jerry got home at 5:30 & we ate supper & Ivard went & fed cows & I got books up.

We all went to church. Ivard called in & told them I was sick, havn't had much sleep all week. Ray & I watched late show & every one else went to bed I went to bed at 1:30 AM.

snowed most of nite, real slippery comeing home from work. I washed a couple of batches of cloths. Ivard took Dale on his paper route then went back to bed & Dale went up to church with Looslies & Scouts went out by Melba sleigh rideing.

Ivard laid off this trip & went & changed the battery for Wallys truck & went & finished moving. Dean & Jackie & Jerry scrubbed & cleaned house & Ray helped Ivard. I went to bed at 10:30 & Dale got home & woke me up. It was a nitemare all day I never did get much sleep. I roasted ham & ate supper when guys got home at 5:30 & Jerry & Ray went to work at D.q. Ivard & Kids watched T.V & I went to bed I went to work at 11:

Cloudy snowed tonite

I came home & ate & went to bed & read paper.  Jerry & Ray were stil asleep.

I woke up at 12:45 & got up & Jerry, Ray & I went up town & ordered the drapes for my & Rays bed room & dineing room. I got some garmets. Came home & got supper & ate at 4:15 then Jerry took Ray to work at 5: till 10: & Dale cleaned yd. & Jerry & Dean fed cows & took drape samples back & got mail then Jerry went to work 6: to close & Dean, Dale & Jackie came home. I went to bed at 5:30.

Dean took car to ball game & left it to D.q for Kids. Ivard came home so I had other car to go to work.

Thursday, January 7, 1965

snowed during nite. I came home from work & went to bed & read paper. Jerry & Ray were still in bed. Ivard had gone back to New Medows.

I woke up at 1:30 & Jerry, Ray & I went to town & picked out drape material for my room, Rays & dineing room & had her lay it back. took Ray to work at D.q. 3: to close & got Jackie from school & took her to Primary after we picked Dale up & we went & bought Dale a new suit & 2 pr pants, pajamas & him & Dean a shirt. Came home & ate & Jerry went to work 6: to close at D.q. & Edith brought them home, Ivard drove this morning & didn't come home tonite. Dean went to H.S. to debate, won 1 out of 2. I washed 3 4 batches of cloths & put sock batch away, & finished basteing Jerrys drapes ready to sew.

Jerry & Dean made hot cakes for supper. Jerry left for work at 5:30 to feed cows Dale went to clean D. q. yard Ray came home & brought Dale & Dean & Dale went to Hurrens to music lesson Ray took them & Hurrens brought them home. Ray had to be in Caldwell at 7:30 to meet with Parole officer. Ivard was home when I got up. Went to work at 11: was snowing.

Ivard came home right after I went to work last nite & was gone again at 7: this morning Jerry took him after Ivard took Dale on his Paper route.

Ray worked at D.q 11:30 to 6: Jerry went up town, came home at 3: & fixed supper & we ate when Kids came. at 4:45 Jerry took Jackie to dancing & went & fed cows & went to work 6: to close Dale went with him & cleaned D.q. yard. Kids called Simplots, had car trouble on Dales Paper route. roads were real slippery. I found Ray_ Dale had gone on to school. He was out of gas so we went up to Don Boren's & got some but he had battery run down so I took him up to D.q & he got the guy next door to come & start it. It was 9:30 when we got home. I read paper & went to bed Ray went to work at D.q 11: to 6:

Jerry washed 6 batches cloths & cooked supper. I woke up at 3:30 & went to Dr. lost 1½ lbs. came home & we ate & Jerry left a little early to feed cows. Dale went with him & cleaned D. q. yard & came home with Ray. Jerry worked 6: to close.

I got books up & went to bed at 6: until time to go to work.

I came home from work & went to bed. Jerry_Dean & Dale went to Priesthood, S.S & sacrement. meeting. Ray has bad cold & Sis & they stayed home Jerry had to go to work at D. q. after Priesthood till 5: Ray went to store & I woke up at 1:30 to such delecious smells. Ray had dinner ready made cake, meat loaf-jello cottage cheese salad & had corn & Peas. After We ate Ray took Dale over to Looslie's to go Fast offering Collecting. Ray went to work at D.q. 5: to close & Dean & Jackie & Dale went & Jerry took them to titheing Settlement.

I went to bed at 6: & got up at 10:30 & went to work. roads weren't to bad.

Cold wind all day.

Ray took Ivard to work at 5: AM. going on work train to Emmett for week, maybe, then he took Dale around delivering Papers. They came home & went to bed. I got up & fixed a good breakfast, saugage, omlet, Tomato & toast. Dean cleaned up house & Jerry_ Ray_Dale Jackie & I went up town & got groceries & mail & paid some bills & got my medecene, let Ray & Dale out at D.q. & Ray got hair cut Dale wouldn't wait, & Jerry & I went back up town. Came home & ate & I washed Rays hair & he had bath & went to work at D.q ½ hr early & took Dale to get hair cut & at 6: I took Jerry to work at D.q & got Dale & we came home & I washed Dale & Deans hair then had bath & went to bed at 7:30. Cloudy & cold 10° Stanley & Dale got up & went on Paper route & came home bawling after about 10 papers so Ivard got up & took Dale on his route. Barbra fixed breakfast. I finished my books up & washed 4 or 5 batches of cloths.

Ivard didn't work today.  Him & Lyle watched ball games all day Kids played games & chased through house. Gail & family came all afternoon & left at 5: when we started to fix supper Lyle brought a baked ham. We ate & played Penochle awhile. Lyle left for home at 8:30.

Jerry & Ray left for work at D.q at 5:, they opened up today at 9: Ivard went up & fed cows & brought rest of our fruit. I made some ice tea & we watched show Kids went to bed early.
