I got up & crocheted when Kids went to work. When they got home at 1:30 we ate & Ray took me up to hospital to see father & he went gadding. Dale went to piano lesson this afternoon & Dean went tonite then when he got home we went up to see father for awhile.

Came home & we all got to bed early.

Jackie left for 3 weeks in Utah with Kay

real hot.

Kids went to work & Ray picked beans & I picked them over & washed up all my & Kays things & packed Jackies suit cases. showed them how to paint with tri chem paints & they all painted all morning.

Got dinner & ate & Kay & I & jackie went & saw father & went to Dr. office &  & got some Ins. papers filled out. Came home & they Packed up & at 4: left for Pocotello. Ray had to visit that office tomorrow. Jackie went with them Jerry went & Saw father before Mutual, I didn't go.

hot  Kids went on milk route & Dale did paper route. Ray picked beans & I got our 100 lbs of rice packaged up & washed up all the cloths. & fixed dinner & we went to hospital to see father & I paid bills ect. Came home & set up table on lawn & they played croket Kay barbacued steaks & Gene & Cheryl came over & we ate & played games & drew names for Xmas & visited, didn't make it to see father tonite but Ray & Evelun Schuthies did then came out here awhile & we had ice cream & cake.

basement flooded

Kay & Ray & Dean went over to owyhee

Jerry & Dale went on paper route & came home & woke us up the basement was flooded. irrigation water came into cesspool & came up through drain, 6 in. deep finally got drain plugged & water shut off lawn. took us until noon to seep water out glass doors & clean up mess. Kay didn't get to go to church or Dale, Jerry - Dean & Gene & Cheryl went. I cooked dinner & we ate & went to see father & kay - Claudia, Ike, Ray & Dean went to Owyhee ward to visit & church. I came home & went to bed, went & saw father & Gene & Cheryle stayed until time for church. We went to church & Gene came over awhile after. Kay came about 11:

Kay came on his vacation

Went to ball game in Caldwell

Kids went on their milk route & Jackie & I streightened up house & went up town & got groc. Came home at noon & Kay & Claudia had come from Salt Lake for their vacation. Went & got Jerry & Dean & had lunch & Ray, Kay, Jerry & I went to hospital to see Ivard.

Came home & we fixed a lunch supper & ate out on our lawn & Gene & Cheryl came over & at 7:15 Kay - Claudia, Gene, Cheryl, Ray, Dale & I went & saw father few min. & went to Caldwell to ball game, major legue. Simplot Day & they gave me the tickets at work. Jackie & Ike stayed home. Jerry & Dean went to Warm lake to take Scouts when they got off work with Nancy. We got home about 11:30

father can move his right hand

I got up at 6:15 & crocheted Jerry, Dean & Dale were to work. Ray took Jerry so he could use car then he didn't go get hair cut until 11:, came home & kids called so he went & got them.

I washed 2 batches of cloths & got dinner & Ray took me to hospital & he went to see about job came & got me at 4: & I stayed & sent him home to oget fathers robe. Dean brought them at 5:20 after he got hair cut & we dashed up to R. R. & got fathers check & went to bank & Pd. place. brought Dean home & at 7:30 I went back, father could move his hand today.

Kids scrubbed & cleaned house good. I got home at 9:15.

Fathers arm is still dead

hot - Kids went to work. I got up & crocheted all morning. washed cloths & cooked dinner & we ate & Jerry & Dean & I went to see father & stayed until 6: Jackie was home from Primary.

Got clothes in ect. & at nite Jerry, Dean & I went to see father

The Hennis boys came & administered to Father, first time.

Came home & were just going to bed when Gene & Cheryl came awhile.

Kids had icebox defrosted & dishes done & windows washed

Sent letter to Lyle Gail & Kay

Dean wentt o eye Doctor in Boise

Kids went to work & Dale came home & mowed lawn I crocheted. Kids came home & got ready & Dean had to be to eye Dr. in Boise at 1:, he has to hae glasses. Jerry & Ray went with him. they dropped Jackie off at Cheryl's & me at hospital. Ivard looked real good & could talk real good & could wiggle his right foot.

Kids came up awhile & we came home & ate. Mrs Tenis came over & brought cake. Mrs. Bender came to see how Ivard was. Dale went to Piano lessons at 2: & Dean at 6:30 & when he got home Ray & I went to hospital at 7:30 & Ray & went up & mailed letter to Lyle, Gail & Kay I wrote this afternoon. Ivard could move his leg clear up to hip but his arm is still dead. Gene & Cheryl came we had to leave at 8:40. Evelyn Elmer came to see him, Bishop, Chaney & Edith loosli sent flowers. Dale went with Lenard until 9:30.

Ivard had Stroke

Got card from Lyle.

hot but a cool breeze in Shade.  Jerry, Dean & Dale went to work. Ivard got up & took Jerry so we could have car. I got up & washed 2 bathes of cloths & Ivard took us out to Bices to relief S. had nice lunch on Patio & embroidered. Ivard came home & watched ball game & Ray went & got Jerry & stayed up town doing business & Jerry came home with car & Ivard came & got us at 1:30 & we took Cheryl home & he brought me home & went up to hunt Parts for car. Felt dizzy when he out of car & was going to put on glasses went to get them & couldn't get hand out of pocket so he decided to come home, got in car & leg went dead but made it home, don't know how, couldn't talk, we couldn't move him out of seat. Called an ambelance & they got him out & took him to hospital. He was paralyzed on right side & couldn't talk. I came home & fed Kids & went back. He could talk a little. I came home at 9:30 & Ray, Jerry & Dean were at [illegible].

Went to surprise Birthday Party on Ray & Dean at Park.

Hot, breeze

Ray was 21 today. Ivard got up & watered & I made Ray a birthday cake & fixed fruit Jello & goulash.

Ivard got up at 4: & took Jerry & Dean to work so I could go to unenplyment meeting then they called at 1:15 so he went & got them & they took me to my meeting & went & did business  At 11: Ivard & I & Jackie went up to Union guys & Ivard got $14.50 for the 3 days Rail R. was on strike then he got groc. for me.

We ate at 3:& took Ivard to work & went to Wards & Jerry got birthday presents & I got 120 lbs soap for 2 yr. supply. Came home & we went to Park (Kurtz) & Evelyn Elmore, Edith & Betty had surprise birthday party on Ray & Dean, Dean was really surprised as he helped plan it. for Ray. Betty, Jerry & Ray went to Noise. We came home. Went after Ivard.

hot  Ivard got up & watered garden & Jerry & Dale went on paper route.

Dean, Ray & Dale went to Priesthood & S.S. Jerry didn't go, was going to Adrian to class reunion but Sharon Smiths car broke down & she didn't come after him. Ivard stayed home & watered.

Gene & Cheryl came & took Jackie & I to S.S.

Came home & ate & every one naped all afternoon. I took Ivard to work at 3:30 & he forgot glasses so I had to dash them back up to him.

We all went to church & Gene came over after. At 9:40 Ivard called & I went & got him & droped Jerry & Ray off up by Red Steer to a house & they administered to Sick. Brought them home.

Jerry & Dean went on milk route & Dale on paper route. I washed 6 batches of cloths, changed all the beds, and I washed the ceiling & walls in my bath room & scrubed & waxed floor. Jerry & Dean came home & cleaned rest of house & Jerry fixed dinner. We ate & I took Ivard to work at 3: I washed Dean & Jackies har & we made beds & got cloths all in & put away & everyone had a bath & at 8: Jerry, Ray, Dean Dale, Jackie & I went to Buttlers garden reception for Kathy then we went to church to John Poppletons. Came home & Ray & Rodney Hennis were watching T.V. then they went to Boise. Ivard came at 10:

Jerry, Dean & Dale went to work. I got up at 6: & crocheted Ivard got up about 8:30. I fixed breakfast & we ate about 9:30.

I washed overalls & Ivard weeded garden & cut lawn & had a bath.

Ray got called to Boise for Job interview so he had Mrs Bender take him up to Dairy & get car & I cooked dinner & we ate at 3:15 & Ivard started to work on bike at 3:30 but Ray came & went & picked him up & went messing off. Jerry came at 5: & changed cloths & went to Boise with Nancy & Dean too.

Jackie stayed at Benders all nite. Gene & C. came & washed 2 batches of cloths

Thursday, July 7, 1966

90 degrees in Nampa.

I got up at 6:30 & crocheted Jerry & Dean were on milk route & Dale got home from Paper route about 7:30. I fixed breakfast for Ivard, Dale & Jackie & Ivard & Dale mowed & weeded yard & garden until about 11: when mower broke again. Kids got home at 11: & took Ray & Jackie up to D.Q. & they took truck out until 7:30 I washed 3 batches of cloths & got supper & we ate at 3:

Ivard had bath & laid down awhile & Jerry, Dale & I took him to work at 4: & took lawn mower over to Carters to be fixed & got other one & some groc. & came home & Dale mowed Menic's lawn. Dean had dishes done. Jerry & Dean went to Boise for couple of hrs when they got home from work & went home teaching after they got Ray tonite. I checked Rays change. Went after Ivard at 11:30.

Ivard came back to Nampa Switching

hot. I got up at 5: right after Jerry, Dean & Dale went to work

Ivard called at 6: A.M. Came home on train, car broked down at King Hill & he had it towed to Glenns Ferry. Dale rode over to Genes on bike & had him go up & get father. Ivard worked in yard & when Kids got home with car Ivard & I, Ray, & Sis went to Caldwell & paid my Union Ins. & out to Simplots & paid my Ins & had Kids Int. drawn up & Ray went to draft board came to Nampa & had root beer & I signed for unemployment & Ray & I paid bills. Came home & Jerry had roast cooked & I got supper & we ate & Sis did dishes. We took our lawn mower to Carters to be fixed & he had our old one done & Ivard mowed lawn & I raked until I got blisters Gene & Cheryl came about 8: & ate & we had watermellon.

Got letter from father

Jerry & Dean went on Milk route & Dale paper route.

I got up & crocheted all morning washed 3 batches of cloths & hung out.

Jerry & Dean got home at noon & Lyle & family came & I fixed hambergers & we ate & at 2: they went went over to Genes until 4: & left for home. Dale went collecting all afternoon.

Jerry & Ray went to Boise with Rodney & Dean & Jackie did dishes.

We watched T.V. & every one was in bed by 9:30, when Jerry & Dean got home from Mutual.

I washed my hair & tinted it & read until it dried at 10:30 & I went to bed.

Gene got back from Idaho Falls

Sunny, hot, cool breeze in shade

Jerry, Dean & Dale got up & we went to Sunrise service then Jerry & Dean did milk route & Dale his paper route. Jerry bought groc. home & we packed a lunch & Betty came & went with Jerry Ray, Dean, Dale, Jackie & I up to Idaho City. We left at 10:30 & went to Boise & got parked in good spot for Parade & I crocheted while we waited. The parade was good. after we drove up to Idaho C. to warm Springs resort & met Lyle & Mrs. Metcalf & Alice & everyone went swimming but Mrs. M. Barbra, Betty, Dale, Randy & I. after we drove to camp ground & ate our supper & at 6: we left for Stadium in Boise so we could get a good seat for Pagent & firework they started at 8: & were really good. American Legion had a Ceremony & burned an old flag. We got home at midnite.

Lyle came

Jerry & Dale did their paper route & Jerry, Ray, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood, S.S & Fast meeting.

I cooked macaroni for salad & 2 dz. eggs & made jello & Kay came & got Jackie & I  & we went to S.S. & Fast meeting.

We got home at 1: & made salad & deviled the eggs & had dinner. Jackie & Dale did dishes. watered lawn with ditch.

Lyle & family came for 1/2 hr. on way to Metcalf's, got down today they are moving to Klamath Falls. got transfered.

watched S. nite movie & went to bed.

Saturday, July 2, 1966

Cloudy, cold, furnace Kicked in & all the windows & doors were closed. Jerry & Dean went on milk route & Dale the paper route & I crocheted awhile then I iorned all day until I got it finished. I washed 2 batches & hung out.

Jerry & Dean got home at 12:30 & Dean cleaned up the house. Dale went collecting

I got cloths put away & Jerry fixed supper & we ate & Ray did dishes. We watched T.V. and we were all in bed by 9:30.

Came home at 7: & Kids had supper ready & we ate & Jerry went out to Hurrens & paid my 6 month piano Lesson bill. out of income tax refund. Gene & Cheryl ate with use & left for Idaho falls with John P.

Jerry & Dean went on milk route at 5: Dale went on Paper route. I woke up at 6:30 & got up & crocheted. I fixed breakfast for Ray Dale & Jackie at 9: & they just got through when Dean & Jerry got home so I fixed them some & they got ready & Jerry Ray & Dean left for Boise. Ray went Job hunting & J. & D went to last day of Education week, got home at 9:30 tonite. I washed a batch of cloths & watered lawn. Cheryl & Jackie Bourne walked over & had lunch & helped Dale make cookies then he went home with them & got back at 7: & went home teaching Jackie went to Primary. I got Rays cloths put away & watched T.V. went to bed at 9:30 Gene & Cheryl came a min.

Jerry - Ray & Dean went to Boise

Jerry & Dean got home from paper Milk route about 9: & got ready & Betty came & got them & Ray & they went to Boise to Education week, got home at 11: P.M.

Dale came home from paper route & started to cut lawn & broke mower so he went collecting, got hair cut & went over to Cheryl's all afternoon I got up at 5: & crocheted & watered lawn all day.

At 2:30 Jackie & I went up town & I signed up for unemployment & went to bank & paid last winters oil bill, got Income tax Got some new car cousins & groc & came home & Jackie cleaned out car & Dale came & we ate & watched T.V. awhile & went to bed. Dale went with Lenard Rose getting new stars tonite.

Jerry, Ray & Dean to Boise

I got up at 5: when Jerry & Dean went on milk route. Dale had already gone on paper route I crocheted.

Dobbs came at 8:30 & towed car in & fixed it & brought it back about 4: & Ray took Kid back.

I crocheted, & washed cloths all day. Ray got up & weeded flowers & garden all day

Jerry brought Dean home at 2: so he wouldn't have to walk home & he went & unloaded & walked home. got here about 4:30. Dean & Dale went to Piano lesson at 3:, Dean walked & Dale went on bike When dean got home about 4:45 Betty came & took Jerry, Ray & Dean to Boise to Education week, got home at 11: Dale went over to Genes & Jackie & I went hunting him at dark.

Ray & I came home from Pocotello

Sunny & cool breeze all morning

Ivard got called to Rupert at 5: A.M. so I told him goodbye. I got up at 8: & ate & got packed & we went & watched Jeff play ball awhile then Gail, Lynda & Kids took Ray & I down to depot & we cought No 17 at 10:30, to come home. I crocheted most of way home & Ray slept. We got to Nampa at 4:10 & called home & KIds came & got us, car was makeing a horrible noise, they hadn't been useing it since it started.

Jerry had a good supper cooked, meat loaf ect & we ate when we got home & Dean & Jerry did dishes & I unpacked. Dean went to meeting at Stake house with Patty Hill. Gene & Cheryl came over awhile.

Sunny & real hot - breeze

never woke up until 9:30 when Kristine came in & woke us up for breakfast. We played Penochle & Canasta all day. Lynda got dinner & we ate at 3: & at 3:40 Gail left for work.

Ivard played games with Kids & I got my diary up & crocheted.

About 7: Ivard & I rode down to depot to see how many times out he was & had a big, 19 cent icecream cone at Albertsons, 6 scoops. then we drove up to other side of town & had a root beer

Went back to Gails & had pop corn & watched T.V. & I crocheted. Ivard went to bed about 9: in case he has to go to work. I got so sleepy I went at 9:45. Lynda & Ray watched the show.

Saturday, June 25, 1966

Got to Gails in Pocotello at 12:15 AM.

Sunny & warm, Cool in nite.

furnace kicked in. Got to Gails in Pocotello, on train, at 11:55 & Gail was there to meet us, just got off work, We went up to his house & watched rest of late movie. father had just got here after week in Shoshone. We went to bed at 1: A.M.

Got up at 8: AM when Debbie woke us for breakfast. I hadn't heard a thing. After we ate I crocheted all morning, Lynda washed & guys watched ball game.

this afternoon we took our lunch & went up canyon about 18 miles in Caribou National forest & ate our lunch in pines. We took a freezer of icecream & froze after we got up there.

Got home about 8: & played Canasta & Penochle.

Ivard & Gail didn't work today. went to bed at midnite.
