Thursday, April 30, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard was home & had chores about done. We ate & went to bed until noon then Ivard & I Mother & Jackie went to Nampa & paid car then we went to Caldwell & got red seed potatoes & carrot & beet seed & pd. Jack & Jerrys then went to Kuick Curb & had hamberger, milk shake & fries. Went back to Nampa & got machine needles & oil & paid Hales.

Came home & got supper & we ate & Ray milked & Ivard did water.

I got books up & Ray went over to Grange with neighbors to a banquet for 8th graders

We went to bed until time to go to work.

Wednesday, April 29, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard had chores done, & he spent all day planting peppers, tomatoes, egg plant, & cucumber plants & checking water.

I went to bed all day. got up & went after Kids & got supper Ivard did chores & Mother & Dean did dishes & I worked on my books

Rays class went on their sneak up to Idaho City & went swimming then came back to Boise & ate & went to show. I took him to school when I got home from work. He never got home until 2:30 A.M.

Ivard bathed & we went to bed until time to go to work. I went at 11: & Ivard went at 11:30.

Tuesday, April 28, 1959

I came home from work & Kids had gone to school & Ivard had chores done & was checking water. He planted a row of rhubarb we brought from mothers.

I went to bed at 9:30 & Jackie came to bed at noon. got up at 2: when Ivard got home from court, he got fined $15. for hitting guy sunday pulling out from curb.

We got Kids out of school at 3:30 & went over to Homedale & watched Adrian get beat, when they were 6 ahead in last inning. went over to Metcalfs & got tomatoe, pepper, egg plant, cucumber & petuna plants & cantalope seed. got home at 8: & Ivard did chores & I fixed supper.

We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Monday, April 27, 1959

sent letter to Jerry & his money

Got up late & ate & I took Kids to school.

I sorted clothes & washed 5 batches & worked on my books & wrote a 14 page letter to Jerry.

Mother finished iorning & at 2: we went to Caldwell to bank. Ivard & Jackie were hauling hay from neighbors hauled 3 loads.

We went & got Kids & fixed supper & ate & Ivard, Mother Jackie, Dale & I rode in to Nampa to depot & mailed Jerrys money & letter.

Came home & went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivards night off.

Ivard went to Nampa in afternoon & got window & ut in & feed.

Sunday, April 26, 1959

We ate & Ivard, Kay & Ray went to Priesthood in pick up and Mother & all the rest of us went to sunday school at 10:15.

rained.

Ivard had to go ward teaching after & as he was pulling out from curb he hit a car & bashed whole side of it in & our front fender.

Came home & I fried shrimp & Mother french fried onions & we ate & Ivard left for work at 2:45.

At 5: Mother & I took Kay back to Adrian & talked to Gene awhile.

Came home & Ray was milking didn't get in done in time to go to church. They were going to read our recommends. Ivrd got home 10: my nite off.

Saturday, April 25, 1959

rained most of day.

We ate & I iorned awhile then at 10: Mother Kay & I went to Nampa & ordered Kay a 5 rose corsage then went to Caldwell & Kay got a beautiful suit at Adrians for $85. then he got a white shirt & belt & they gave him a 2.50 tie. He got a $17. pr. dress shoes. We got 2 patterns for me & 2 for Jackie & enough cloth for Jackie & I a dress to match. Had lunch & picked Kays suit up at 4: after we got groc. & came home & he bathed & I washed his hair & he left for Adrian at 6: for Junior Prom & banquet. I iorned until Ivard got home. Ray had supper ready when we got home & work done he milked.

Friday, April 24, 1959

got letter from Jerry

I came home from work & put stew mean on & we went to bed. I got up at 1: & put Veg. in stew & at 4: I went & got Kids from school & we ate & Ivard & I left for Adrian & went up to Ad's & got Kids clothes. We were going to see Lynda & new baby but they'd gone back to Vale.

We went to ball game & Marshing beat by 1 point. It was tied 2 innings.

Ivard was 1/2 hr late for work & I had to take him up to east end. Time I got home it was 12:15 so I called in & told them I wasn't comeing to work.

Gene stayed over to Ad's to work.

Jerry has been sick a week - flue.

got letter from Lyle & Barbra

I came home from work and Ivard was home & doing chores then he checked his water & I got books up & we went to bed and mother tended Jackie.

I really slept. Jackie came to bed with me for her nap & I didn't even know it & Ivard got up & went & got Kids from school. I got up at 4:30 & made meat loaf & Ray baked potatoes & cooked cauliflower & carrots & Peas & made cookies. I washed batch of socks & we ate at 7: & Ivard milked & I got diary up & dampened clothes. & went to bed until time to go to work at 11: & so did Ivard.

Mother came home with us.

We got up at 6: & Minnie got breakfast & we ate & Ken left for home at 7: We did dishes & we left at 7:30 & mother came with us. We had a tire wreck at Craters of Moon then we stoped at Bliss & ate. We got home at 3:30 & I took Mother & we went & got Kids from school then mother & I went to Nampa & had a greese job & oil change on car & new oil filter then we got groc. & came home & had supper & Ivard did chores & checked water. He unloaded while we were to Nampa. I had a bath & mother & I went to bed. Ivard had bath & him & Kids went to bed. I got up at 10:45 & went to work & Ivard went at 11:45.

Gail & Lynda had baby boy

We got up & ate. I sure slept, even lost my teeth in bed for first time since I had them. Ivard & Ken loaded all mothers stuff in Pick-up & U-haul. We packed dishes & bottles for me & we had our pick-up loaded with stuff Mother gave us. buffet, book cases table (library) bottles & stuff. & I took mother to Rigby & she bought hamburgers & fries & we took them home & ate. We got all loaded at 5: & went over to Minnies and had supper & me & Jackie went to bed early. Ken gave Ivard a treatment on his back & he came to bed. we were tired. We'll leave for home in morning.

went up to Mothers

I came home from work & changed & packed a bag & we left for Manan to help mother move. left at 9:30. stoped at Carey & got some stuff to ea on We got to Mothers at 3:30 & she wasn't there so we went back over to Minnies & she wasn't there either so we went over to Bud's & pretty soon Mother & Ken got there from Utah so we went over to her place. Fife boy came over & rented mothers house. We ate & Mother & Ivard did dishes & Jackie & I went to bed. I was dead, working all night and rideing all day. Ken gave Ivard a treatment on his back.

I came home from work & went to bed. Today was conference & no one went. Ivard tended water & him & Gene went over & got their last load of hay over to Symiths.

I got up at 2: & Ray had dinner & we ate & Ivard went to work for 3: I patched some before we took mothers machine home tomorrow.

At 6:30, after Gene got chores done, I took Kay & Gene over to Ad's. I got home at 9: & went to bed. Ivard got home at 10:30 & got me up & I went to work.

Ivard cut Kays hair before he went to work.

Saturday, April 18, 1959

I came home from work & cooked the hot cakes Ray had made then I did washing & cooked a ham in my new Presto cooker & got dinner & Ivard to up at 2: & we ate & he went to work & I went to bed & Ray cleaned house and made cookies Gene cut lawn & watered & did chores.

Kay was in bed all day with flue.

I got up a little while this evening & went back to bed until time to go to work. Ivard got home before I left.

I came home from work & Ivard was home, had chores done & was in bed. Kids had to see my new lamp work, ducks flying, then I took them to school & Jackie & I went to bed. Ivard got up at 10:30 & took new pick-up in to have lights checked & fixed & got his drivers licence (Idaho).

He got home at 2:30 & checked water & we went & got kids from school & had ice cream on way over to Notus to ball game. Adrian won. Kay wasn't there, he had flue. We went to Adrian & got Kids & stoped & got some aspargus. Came home & ate & Gene did chores & we went to bed.

I came home from work & Ray was home sick, he said. I sorted clothes & washed a batch & Ivard finished chores & I laid down an hr while he checked water then he, Jackie & I went to get a load of hay. We came home at 2: & Ray had house all scrubbed & cleaned good & another batch of clothes washed & both hung out. He fixed lunch & we ate & I went to bed at 3: & no one woke me up until time to go to work at 10:10. Ivard checked water & went to bed awhile then he did chores & went to bed until time to go to work he had to be there at 11: On way to work I heard announcement on radio "first one to come in to Fifers & say magic word "Matag" would get a T.V. lamp so I got it, & still had to waite for Sylvia.

sent Lyle a 14 page letter

I came home from work & took kids to school & ate & Ivard loaded 3 heifer calves & we took them to Kartur Junction to sale then we cam eback to Nampa & got Ivards check & paid bills & went to Mobilgas gas station & changed our 2 new tires & put old ones on pick-up & went to Dobbs Motor & traded it in on a 1958 pick up & Ivard got the Idaho licence for it. I wrote rest of Lyles letter while we wvisited.

We went to Caldwell to bank, had a root beer and came home. Made potatoe salad & we ate & I went to bed Ivard did chores & he went to bed.

Tuesday, April 14, 1959

I came home from work & went to bed & Dale tended Jackie. Ivard Dean & Ray cleaned corrigates all day & started to water beets.

I got up & took Jackie to bed with me at noon for her nap.

I got up at 3: & Ivard & Kids hauled the cans up to garbage dump then we all went to Nampa & took 2 pick-up tires to be fixed and Ivard bought us all a hamberger french fries & root beer for our supper and we went home & had a big dish of icecream.

I wrote to Lyle & got books up Ivard did chores & Kids bathed & got ready for bed.

Ray stayed home to help Ivard do ditches & little Kids were to school when I got home from work & Ivard had chores done. little Kids came home from school again they aren't haveing school for a couple of days because so many are out sick.

I ate & went to bed & Dean tended Jackie.

I got up at 3: & Ivard & Ray had gone to Marshing to watch J.V. get beat. Gene was catch.

I washed 4 batces of clothes & Dean & Dale helped me clean up house. got books up & made sherbet & got supper & we ate when Ivard came at 6:45. He did chores & I went to bed.

Mother called from Manan & wants us to come up the 20th & get some stuff when she moves

We got up & ate & Ivard, Gene & I went over & got a load of hay came back & I got dinner & we ate & Ivard went to work at 3: & I washed a batch of overalls & laid down awhile.

I washed my hair & had a bath & Gene did chores & at 6:30 Jackie & I took Gene over to Ad's. had an icecream cone on the way. I visited with Ad awhile, Kay was to church. We got home at 9:30 & I went to bed. Ivard got home from work at 10:30 & got me up & I went to work.

My night off

I came home from work & Ivard was in bed asleep, he got home at 6: I went to bed & we got up at 11: & the pump was broke & no water. Ivard & I went to Nampa & got a motor for it & went to Caldwell to bank. Were going after Kay & load of hay but it was too late for Ivard to get back & fix pump before work so we had milk shake & came home & he changed motors but it still would't work & he had to go to work & I called H. Electric & a guy came out & it was just a long fuse blew out but it was letting a little juice threw. I finished up the income tax returns & got books up. Ray got supper & we ate & Gene did chores. he got hay corrigated & half of clover.

We went to bed early. I woke up at 11:30 & Ivard wasn't home yet. I waited up until 12:25 when he came, but I was in bed. He waited for guy on mid night to bring some corn.

Friday, April 10, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard was home & through with chores & in bed with Jackie. I went to bed & we all slept until noon then we went to Nampa to get Idaho Income tax filed, had to waite for guy until 2:30, filed ours & Jerrys & he gave me blanks for Oregon so we won't have to go over there. we got to bank in Caldwell 5 min. too late had a milk shake & went to dairy & got check then we went to Middleton, to base ball game. Adrian won 15 to 7. Gene cought last 4 innings & looked really good Gene came home with us & Kay went back to Adrian so he could go to class play (Junior) We ate & Gene did chores & I went to bed. Gail & Lynda came for little while, were in Nampa on business. Ivard came to bed & left for work at 10:45. I left at 11:00 I drove.

I came home from work & Ivard was home doing chores. Ray was home in bed with bad cold. We went right to bed & Ray watched Jackie. Ivard got up at noon & worked on tractor & fixed water on lawn.

I got up at 3:30 & Ray, Jackie & I went to Nampa & changed Ivards overalls & got Jackie 2 pr. peddle pushers. Got a Presto cooker book so I can use my new cooker pan. got groc. & came home & fixed supper & ate & Ivard did chores & we all went to bed early.

got letter from Irvin & he sent $5. for Jerry.

I came home from work & took kids to school. Ivard had chores done & was planting beets, got through & took planter & tractor home. I went right to bed & Jackie went with me, she doesn't feel good. We got up at 12:30 & when Ivard came we went over & got a load of hay & got some aspargus along bank went to dairy & got 4 1/2 gal. of icecream for freezer, cheese, & milk bucket. got groc. & came home & fixed supper. had cheese burgers & olives potatoe chips, lettuce, wedges, punch & icecream Ray did dishes & Ivard pruned roses.

Cold hard wind.

I went to bed at 7:30 & went to work at 11: Ivard left at 11:45.

Ivard went to bed after he did chores & Ray went swimming at Givins with school class.

Tuesday, April 7, 1959

Ivard is 44 today.

I came home from work & Ivard had chores done & went out to harrow. I changed all the beds & washed 3 big batches of clothes & hung out the ones I did last nite. I made Ivard a birthday cake & fixed his dinner then Jackie & I went to bed after I fixed scalloped potatoes & carrots ready to cook & put them in ice box.

Ivard woke me up at 3:30 & I put supper on & went after kids.

Jackie has a feaver.

I got clothes in & helped Ray make beds. Ivard helped me make ours at noon.

We ate at 6:

Ivard started planting beets at noon. Ivard did chores & I went to bed about 9: They woke me up Gail, Lynda & Debbie came to see Ivard for his birthday & brought a gal. root beear. Ivards night off.

Ivard met me at work & we took Gene over to Adrian to school. stoped in Wilder & got $50. worth of syphon tubes & went to Caldwell to bank & I got Jackie 3 pr. panties, 2 T shirts, & sun suit & Ivard a pr. overalls for his birthday. We went to Kuna & paid our water bill & Ivard got pick up at Albertsons & went over to Brysons to get his tractor & up to Barlows & got their beet planter, he had to work on them & it was 5: time he got home. Jackie & I had icecream cone & came home at noon & went to bed. got up at 3:30 & went & got kids, fixed supper & wshed 2 batches of clothes.

We ate & Ivard did chores & I went to bed.

I came home from work & went right to bed. & Ivard, Gene & Ray went to Priesthood, no sunday school on account of general conference. They got me up at noon & I washed a batch of clothes & Ray fixed dinner, I made Jello when I got home from work. We ate at 2: & kids did dishes & I got books up & wrote a letter to Jerry.

Ivard left for work at 2:45 he came home for hr at 7: on his lunch hr. then he was home at 10:

Saturday, April 4, 1959

I came home from work & they had chores done. I went right to bed with Ivard & Ray got kids breakfast. Gene did leveling on beet ground. at noon Ivard took a cow & 2 bull calves to sale at Caldwell then went to work. I got up at 1:, after getting Jackie to sleep, & Ray & I went to Adrian & bought Ivard an electric hay knife grinder for his birthday ($18.) & went up to high school to double header with Nampa - Adrian got beat 12 to 1 first game (2nd team) & beat Nampa 10 to 0 second game. We went to Nyssa & got a case of Sun Valley & went to Caldwell & got check for cows & groc. & some groc. in Nampa got home at 7:30. passed Ivard going in he'd been out on his lunch hr., Ray fed kids & I went to bed. Ivard got home at 10:45 when I was getting ready for work.

Friday, April 3, 1959

I came home from work and Ivard was home & had chores done. Dean tended Jackie and we went to bed. Ivard got up in 2 hrs & corrigated rest of grain and Mr. Bryson came and put liquid fertilizer on beet ground and Ivard followed right behind him & harrowed it in. I got up at 2: & washed clothes and went after kids at 4: and Ivard, Jackie, & I went to Adrian & got Gene and a load of hay. Kay didn't come home this week, he played ball tomorrow. We came home at 7:45 & Ray had chores about done & a cake made & supper ready. We ate & Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work. Ivard went at 10:45 & I left at 11:

Dean home with flue

I came home from work & Ivard was home & had chores about done. We ate after I mailed some payments then we went to bed & Dean watched Jackie, he was in bed. At noon I got up & took Jackie to bed with us. Ivard got up & fixed corrigator & got grain corrigated he got me at 2: & Jackie and I went to Caldwell to bank & paid Jack & Jerrys. Came back to Nampa & returned 3 sacks of wheat seed & pd Ivards job Ins. & lights. had icecreame cone & came home & got books up & washed 2 batches of clothes & made barbacue for supper. Ray cleaned out all the flower beds and mowed east lawn. We ate and Ivard did chores & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Wednesday, April 1, 1959

Teacher brought Dean home sick at 2: & he was alone until we got home - flue I guess

I came home from work & went right to bed. Ray stayed home, just clean up day at school, & tended Jackie. Ivard harrowed the graine and him & Jackie & Ray took cow to sale. When they came back they got me up & we ate & went over to Vale & took Lynda a negro mammy doll toaster cover & nylon hanky. we stayed awhile. didn't get to see Gail he was working. stoped at Adrian to track meet a little while, didn't see kids. got butter & came home. Had icecream cone & got groc in Nampa & stoped & got check for cow. Hurried and ate & Ray & I went to Mutual Court of Honor, Ray pinned a badge on me. Ivard did chores & him & Jackie bathed & went to bed. I got to bed at 9:30 & went to work at 11: Ivard went at 11:45.
