got letter from Jerry

I came home from work & took Kids to school then Ivard, Jackie & I went over to Gails & they were just moving out, over on Enterprise Ave., out from Nyssa. We left Jackie there to play & went over to G. & B & gave them my radio, wouldn't play & they will mail us out one from Boise. went back & followed Lynda to Nyssa & picked Gail up at dairy & followed them to their new place. Gail gave us the money back we pd. his loan. Came to Wilder & got a part of sack of corn before we got rained out. stoped in Caldwell & laid a sweater away for Lynda, Barbra & Mother for Xmas. had Shake, fries & hamberger & got groc. & came home at 6: & went to bed until time to go to work. Ray fed Kids & Gene did chores. I went to work at 11: & Ivard at 11:30.

Tuesday, October 29, 1959

I'm 44 today. I came home from work & took Dean & Dale to school. Ivard was home & in bed. I sorted clothes & washed a batch & hung out & at 10:30 Jackie & I went to bed. It was noon before I got to sleep, when Ivard & Jackie got up. Ivard washed 2 batches & hung out. It was nice this morning but cloudy & cold in afternoon. Ivard watched ball game. I got up at 5: & got clothes in & Dean & Dale put them away. Ivard went & got some icecream & bread & when Kids got home Ray fixed toasted cheese sandwiches & pork & beans & we ate. Ray gave me a jar mixed candy & They gave me a G.E. clock radio, bed room light & my new bed & breakfast set.

Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Monday, October 28, 1959

got Birthday card & letter from Lyle & Jerry

I came home from work & read paper & got ready & we went to Caldwell & got milk check & I laid away some stuff for Xmas at I:D's sale. we came back to Napa & paid Gails P.F.C. loan of $54. so he wouldn't get put in jail & they wouldn't garnishe Ivards wages. got groc. & came home & I went to bed. Ivard watched ball game and shoveled manure I got up at 4:30 & got supper, made apple salad. We ate after Gene came home at 6: & did the chores Ray made beds, I didn't ash today.

Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Sunday, September 27, 1959

I came home from work & went to bed. Everyone one was eating. Ivard came to bed & rubbed my sore hand with linement.

Gene, Ray, Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & sunday school & Ivard tended Jackie.

Ray stayed in to meeting, got home at 3: Kids got home at 2: I was up & had stuffed peppers on & cauliflower. Dean put potatoes & peas on while I got books up.

We ate about 4: rained again.

I wrote a long letter to Jerry.

Ivard & I & little Kids went down around lake to Yoders & got 2 bu. of apples

Gene did chores & Ivard & all the Kids went to church & I went to bed until time to go to work at 11:

Saturday, September 26, 1959

I came home from work and went to bed until 10:30 & Ray made hot cakes for breakfast.

It really rained comeing home & hard 2 or 3 times today. Ivard & Gene took my bed down & put it up in Rays room and I washed my wood work, windows & curtains & vacumed rug good then I split a sheet & made 2 sheets out of 3 for my new bed. They brought it about 5: it sure is big. made meat pie with biscuits on top & we ate & Gene went over to Wallys awhile I went to bed at 6: until time to go to work.

Friday, September 25, 1959

got letter from Kay

I came home from work & Gene took car & took Kids to school & he went to school. I went to bed with Jackie & Ivard until 10:30 then we went over to Gail & Lynda's but they weren't home we went on over to Ontario to G & B. & they gave us $100. for oil stove on a breakfast set & six chairs & a big double width bed & head board, it cost 265. They gave us a bed room lamp & 100 lbs sugar. Ivard got a G.E clock radio for my birthday. We came back to Nampa to Foot ball game Gene made 14 points. They beat Caldwell 43 to 0. Had a flat tire on car & Ivard changed it & I took it over & had it fixed & got groc. & waited for Ray & Ivard, Jackie & Gene came home in pick-up. I got home at 7:15 & Ivard was in bed. I made barbacue & we ate after Gene did chores & I went to bed

Thursday, September 24, 1959

I came home from work and took Kids to school and washed some clothes while Ivard mowed hay. then at 1: he, Jackie & I went to bed. We got up at 3:30 & went to Nampa & got groc. then we went over to Kuna & got 4 sacks of red potatoes for $1. a hundred. We came home in rain and Ivard finished mowing hay while I got supper. Gene went over to Wallys & worked after school. he did chores & we ate late then Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work. I went at 11: & Ivard went at 11:30.

Wednesday, September 23, 1959

I came home from work & took Dean & Dale to school & read paper & ate. Ivard was home & had milking done. Gene stayed home & hot packed his jaw all day. We got about 6 cores out & the swelling is about gone. It looks a lot better. I washed & cleaned our oil stove up & Ivard took it to town but they wouldn't give him enough for it so he brought it home again. He had to go to P.F.C. & see about Gails loan hes behind on, now there trying to make us pay.

Ivard cut hay until 6:

Sure a nice day. I went to bed at 11:15 & got up at 2:45 & fixed Gene & went after Kids & got books up. Dean went selling cards, didn't sell any.

I got supper on and went after the Kids. We ate & Ray went to Mutual & Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Tuesday, September 22, 1959

I came home from work & took Dean to school & Gene went in Pick-up. Ivard was home & in bed. I read paper, ate, & washed 2 batches of clothes & me & Jackie went to bed at 11: Ivard got up & fed cows at noon & got mower on tractor ready to do hay.

I got up at 3:30 & got clothes in & cleaned up & got supper on then I iorned the things I washed today

Gene went to Dr. with his boil after school, then when they got home he hot packed it all evening & Ivard milked after we ate. We went to bed at 7:30 then got up at 8: & went to Nampa & got a hot water bottle & some tape for Gene, came home & went back to bed at 9: I got up at 10:30 & fixed a pack (wet) on Gene & went to work at 11: Ivard left at 11:30. Dean sent selling cards (Xmas) sold 2 boxes.

Monday, September 21, 1959

I got up & got breakfast & got Kids off to school. Changed all the beds & sorted clothes & got 4 batches washed & dried & Ivard & I made our bed & Gene & Deans. I finished my iorning & had a bath & washed another batch of clothes & at 2:30 we went to town & I went to Superior & had a Shampoo & Ivard & Jackie went & had the car greesed then we went & had root beer & went to Gails over by Ontario, the weren't home but we met them in Nyssa & talked a few min. They'd been over to our place. They had a whole house full of new furniture We went to Metcalfs & got 3 lugs of tomatoes. Came home at 8:30 & Ray had supper ready. We went to bed at 9:30 & at 11:50 Elna called & wanted to know if I was going to work. Ivard got there at 12:10, OK but we were a half hr. late.

Sunday, September 20, 1959

We got up at 8: & went & had breakfast (in Idaho Falls) & left for home. We stoped at Bliss & had one glass of beer then stoped at Glenns Ferry & had a couple & stoped at Mountain Home & had dinner. We got to Boise about 2:30 so we drove up & saw lucky Peek Dam then we went on up to Idaho City & went in a bar & stayed until about 9: They had a Jap piano Player & he sure was good. We got home about 10:30 & Kids were still up.

Ivards nite off & my last nite off. We went right to bed. I sure was tired.

Saturday, September 19, 1959

Ivard came home from work at 8: & said lets go to Rexburg. I was still in bed. I dressed & packed a bag & at 8:30 he & I were on our way just Ivard & I. I drove from Bliss to Craters of Moon. rained on us most of way. We just stoped for gas & got to Stadium at 2: just as players were comeing out. We met coach & he took us in gate. It rained a little during game & Kay got to play quite a bit, They got beat 20 to 0 by Montana. After Game Kay & his roommate drove us around town & showed us his room them we left them at cafeteria & went & had supper & got gas & went to Idaho Falls & got a hotel room & went to show "Blue Denim & got back to room at 9:30 & went to bed. supper was only meal we ate today. Ivards nite off.

Friday, September 18, 1959

Ivard came home from work and went to bed until noon and I iorned then we went to Nampa & ate at 1:30 & went to Boise & drew out $100. out of Kays money & mailed to him then we went up to Borah High and watched Nampa get beat 8 to 7. It rained all morning & let up during game then rained again. It was a mud puddle & the mud ran down their legs. Gene played nearly the whole game & really did good. Came back & picked Kids up at Nampa & came home & ate & went to bed.

Ivard went to work at 11:30.

Thursday, September 17, 1959

Kay called tonite

Ivard came home & went to bed & I got up & cooked breakfast & Gene did chores. I took Dean & Dale to school.

Dampened months iorning & washed some things. Had to patch Genes foot ball suit before he went to school.

Ivard got up at 11: & put corrigator together & at 2:30 we took the bore pig home to Merridian & had a milk shake then we went & watched Ray beat Merridian 14 to 0. Ray played most of game, we came home & picked Kids up at school & came home & ate & I went to bed when Ivard went to work.

Wednesday, September 16, 1959

sent Kay a letter.

I got up & cooked breakfast & Ivard did chores & we ate & I took Gene in to school, had to be there early to have picture taken. Droped Dean & Dale off on way home. Ray rode bus.

I washed 4 batches of clothes & fixed 2 bowls of peaches for freezer & one for supper & put 6 qts cauliflower in freezer.

At 4: we went & got Dean & Dale, after I made meat sauce for spagetti, & they cleaned front room & put clothes away while Ivard, Jackie & I went to town & got a few things & Ivard watched Gene practice until 7: Ray walked over & waited with me. came home & Gene did chores & we ate & Ivard & I went to bed. He got bumped & went to work at 11:30.

I wrote Kay this morning.

Tuesday, September 15, 1959

got letter from Kay

I came home from work & washed a batch of clothes & read paper & we went to Nampa & got Ivards check & paid bills & opened a checking account at Bank of Idaho, got groc. & came home at noon & hung out clothes & Jackie & I went to bed & Ivard washed 2 batches clothes & hung one out. I got up at 2: & hung out other & got first ones in & washed a batch of clorads.

A cow died & By-products came & got her & I had to help keep cows in. He came right after Ivard left for work at 2:30.

I got books up & made out some payments

Simplots called at 4: & said the plant would be down until Monday nite. Dean & Dale walked home. Ivard took car in & traded Gene for pick-up. Gene & Ray got home at 6:30. We ate & Ray did chores & I took Gene in to a foot ball meeting. I had coke & parked up town while I waited. came home at 8:30 & went to bed.

Monday, September 14, 1959

I came home from work & took Dean & Dale to school.

It rained about all day & really hard part of time.

Ivard tended Jackie, she's still sick, & I went to bed. I got up at 2: & took Ivard to work because Gail hadn't brought pick-up home. the streets were so full of water we could hardly get through, some were Blocked off. Jackie had milk shake & I had a sundee then we came out & picked up Dean & Dale at school & Jackie & I went to bed, she was takeing chills. Gail brought pick-up home but wouldn't take it in to Ivard, too big a hurry. I got up at 5:30 & went after Gene, they had a foot ball meeting. We had hamberger, fries & root beer & came home & I went to bed until time to go to work & Gene did chores. Gene drove Pick-up to town at 10:45 & I followed him & parked out by Winthers & we went & got Ivard & then they came home & I went on to work.

Sunday, September 13, 1959

awful Thunder & lightening storm & it really rained tonight.

I came home from work & put a roast on and went to bed at 10:30. Ray made hot cakes & did dishes. Gene, Ray Dean & Dale went to Priesthood & sunday school at 11:, time for our new ward Jackie was sick & Ivard tended her & peeled potatoes.

I got up at 12:30 and made 2 peach pies and got dinner on to cook. Kids came home at 2: Gail & Lynda came & we ate at 3:30. and they loaded up their stuff to move to Ontario & left at 5:, they took our pick-up.

got books up & Ivard hot packed Gene, he has a boil on his jaw.

I went to bed until time to go to work & Ray milked

Ivard Ray - Dean & Dale went to church. Gene stayed home & tended Jackie & hot Packed his jaw. Ivards nite off. I left at 11: for work.

Saturday, September 12, 1959

I came home from work & Gail & Lynda had gone to Ontario to work He has a job at a dairy. Ivard was home & had chores done & we went to bed until noon.

Gene went over to Wallys at 6: & worked all day.

Ray cleaned house & did some washing & we changed my bed & Ivard helped me make it.

Ray & I went to town & got groc. & my Penny laway. Had a hamberger & coke. came home & Ivard peeled peaches & we bottled 14 qts & 14 qts of sliced ones. Ray fixed supper & we ate & I had a bath & went to bed at 8: & Ivard & Gene went to Nampa to foot ball game.

Friday, September 11, 1959

I came home from work and read paper & Gail & Lynda left to hunt work.

I went to bed, & Jackie, & Ivard went out to plow & he woke us up at 1:30 & he left for Marshing to foot ball game. I got up & washed the white table full of bottles and started doing peaches, did 22 qts. Washed clothes & had to go to school in pick-up & get Dale, he had flat tire on bike. I got supper & when Ivard got home at 7: with Gene & Ray from foot ball practice I went to bed until time to go to work but never did sleep because Gail came home at 8: & Jackie & Debbie were really noisy

Thursday, September 10, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard was home & had chores done. Gail & Lynda took off at 10: hunting work, I had just got to bed & Ivard woke me up because he ran out of gas in tractor so we went to Nampa & got groc. & to Caldwell to bank then we went to Homedale to get peaches but they were all gone where we always get them, found some in sunny slope. got 3 bu. for 7.50.

I went to bed at 4: & Ray got supper & Ivard went & got Kids from practice.

Gail & Lynda came & stayed all nite.

I came home from work & washed some clothes & Ivard plowed awhile then he came in and tended Jackie and I went to bed.

Gail & Lynda came back from Rexburg this afternoon, he couldn't make enough to go to school.

Ivard & Gail went & watched Kids practice & brought them home.

I cooked supper & we ate & I went back to bed.

Gail took Gene & Ray in to Mutual then went & got them again.

We were about late for work because they didn't wake us up.

Ivard got another job & had to be to work at 3: he left early & got his hair cut.

Monday, September 7, 1959

I came home from work & sorted all the clothes & Lynda & Ray washed & cleaned house & I went to bed at 10:30. I woke up at 2:30 & Gail & Kids had gone to town. I went back to bed for an hr. but couldn't sleep so I got up & fixed pork chops & started supper.

got clothes in & put some more out.

I'm sick & Gene too, stomach.

warm, breezy nice day.

Ivard & Kids got home from Rexburg at 6:, Kay found a room before he left.

We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work & Ivard He had to be there at 11: & I left at 11: Gail & Lynda loaded the car & took Kids & left for Rexburg at 11: P.M. to see about going to college.

Sunday, September 6, 1959

Kay left for Rexburg

I came home from work & Ivard was still in bed. I ate & went to bed & Ivard & Gene went over to Nyssa & moved Gail's stuff over here & they came over to stay. The lost their new trailer & all their furniture they turned in on it.

No one went to church today.

Ray cooked dinner, burnt the roast. Gail & them came & we ate at 2:30 & Ivard went to work.

I iorned 10 pieces for Kay & he finished packing. I went back to bed until time to go to work.

Dale was sick tonight & threw up. I was run to bowls all day.

Ivard got home at 10:45 & I drove the pick-up to work.

At 11:30 Ivard, Dean & Dale left for Rexburg to take Kay to college. Gail & Lynda stayed all nite.

Saturday, September 5, 1959

I came home from work & washed 3 batches of clothes, stuff for Kay. Ray did up the work Ivard watched ball game & cut Kay & Genes hair & I cooked dinner & we ate at 2:30 & Ivard went to work.

Gene took Ray in to foot ball practice & we picked him up when Kay & Kids & I went to town to pick up Kays suit case they put his initials on & his 2 pr. of pants they hemmed. came home & Kay got ready & went over to claudias & they went to Boise to show I went to bed after I dampened Kays clothes & we packed his stuff.

Ivard got home at 10:30. I had to drive pick-up to work Kay had car.

Friday, September 4, 1959

I came home from work and Ivard was home in bed so me & Jackie went to bed to get warm & it was noon when we got up. We were supposed to go over to Nyssa & get Kay this morning, we went at noon & stoped to Metcalfs & got 2 lugs tomatoes & a crate of cantalope. got Kay & stoped at Clucus's & got a sack of corn

Rained awhile.

Came home & Ray got supper & Kay & I went to Nampa & got him a samsonite pullman case, & metal suitcase, 2 pr. wool pants, socks, shorts, T shirts a sweater & a coat & he got Jackie a pr. black Nylon velvet shoes. Came home & ate & Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Thursday, September 3, 1959

I came home from work & Ivard was in bed so I mixed bread & made a batch of cookies and washed some clothes. Grinder guy came at 11: so I woke Ivard up to help him & made bread out & went to bed and Ivard tended Jackie and baked the bread.

I got up and cooked supper and Ivard went in and got kids from foot ball practice & we ate and Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work

Wednesday, September 2, 1959

Gene & Ray started Seminary
got letter from Jerry & Barbra

I came home from work & washed a batch of blankets & went to bed & Ivard hung them out, tended Jackie & did dishes.

Ivard & Jackie came to bed awhile at noon then Ivard went out & planted one piece of hay & got it harrowed.

I got up at 3:30 & washed 2 batches of overalls & put pork chops on & squash & potatoes then got clothes in & put away.

Dean & Dale came from Primary at 6: & Gene & Ray got home from foot ball practice at 6:45. I fixed cucumbers & made salad & we ate at 7:

Kay called at 5:30, hes quiting tonight & wants us to be after him Friday He got a Scholarship to Ricks & has to be there Monday.

went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work. Gene & Ray went to Mutual.

Ivard wrote Jerry & sent his money

I came home from work & all the Kids were gone to school, Gene & Ray drove Pick-up so they could come home from foot ball practice & they were late, helping Ivard get tractor un stuck.

I washed a batch of clothes & went to bed & hung them out when I got up at 4: & washed another batch, and made a meat loaf & put carrots on then Ivard, Jackie & I went to town & got a seeder from a guy & got our fresh pork from when we had pig killed. had a sundee & came home & finished getting supper & we ate & I got books up & went to bed at 6:30. Gene did chores Ray did dishes & defrosted ice box. Ivards nite off.
