Sunday, April 30, 1961

Kristine is 1 today. I came home from work & read paper & went to bed with Ivard.

Ivard, Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Priesthood & Sunday school. Ray came home & got Jackie, Dean & Dale for Sunday school.

I don't feel good. They woke me up at 2:30 to eat then I went back to bed. They all went to church tonite & I read D.C. until 9: & slept until time to go to work at 11:

Saturday, April 29, 1961

I came home from work & Jerry was to work. He got off at noon then after he came home & ate he went & worked for Boss's wife in her yard. Ray went to work for Mrs. King. Ivard was home & came to bed with me, after I ate & read paper.

We got up at 1:30 & Ivard & I, Gene Dean, Dale & Jackie went to Nyssa to see Gail. He went & bought hambergers & root beer & we ate, watched T.V. & at 5: him & Kids went on route & Ivard, Lynda & I played Scrabble. We left for home at 7: & went to Metcalfs & he gave us a bunch of flower plants, about 100 tomatoes & peppers.

We got home at 8:15 & Jerry had big Kettle of chilli.

Ray went to Stake dance. I went to bed until time for work. Ivards nite off.

Friday, April 28, 1961

sent Kristine a birthday card & $1.

I came home from work & ate, made some no bake cookies & went to bed at 10:

Ivard was home from work & he and Jackie went out to our old place & got the cultivator & hauled some garbage out. They came to bed at 12:30.

We got up at 3: & I hung out a batch of cloths I washed this morning & washed another batch & got my books up.

We went after Jerry & came home & made barbacue & potatoe salad & Jery made punch & opened port & beans & we ate

Ray went ward teaching again. didn't get done last nite.

Gene went to Mountaine Home to play ball. got home at 7:30. They won 12 to 6.

Ivard & I went to work.

Thursday, April 27, 1961

sent Kay a letter

I cam ehome from work & Ivard was already home & in bed so I had a glass of juice & geletine & wrote a letter to Kay.

Jackie woke Ivard up at 11:30 so I went to bed & he went out side & worked awhile. He got Jackie to sleep for 1 hr. then we woke her up at 3:45 & took her to Primary then we went & paid some bills & got groc. got Kids from Primary & came home & Ray had supper on, potatoes cauliflower & corn. I fried ham & made gravy. Ray made 2 Dew berry pie & him & Gene went & got Jerry & Jerry bought some icecream to have on pie. We ate & Ray went ward teaching & Jerry to meeting. We went to bed until time to go to work. Got 25 more baby chickens Austas-whites.

Wednesday, April 26, 1961

I came home from work & Ivard was home & in bed so I ate, made some no bake cookies & Jackie & I went to bank & put in some money for Kay.

I washed some cloths & we went to bed at 11: & It was 3:30 before we woke up.

Ray got supper & I went & got Jerry from work & got a few groc. We ate and Jerry went to a meeting.

Mr. Kellogg came to see Ivard about genelogy.

We went to bed about 7: until time to go to work.

I went at 11: & Ivard left at 11:45.

Tuesday, April 25, 1961

Ray took his Piano lesson

Windy

I came home & ate & read paper & washed a batch of cloths. Ivard slept for about 1 1/2 hrs then he tended Jackie & I went to bed for about 3 hrs.

At 3: we got Dale on his way home from school & went & paid car Ins. & got Ins on pick-up & went & picked Mrs Kotter up at Central School & we went to Boise & watched Borah beat Nampa 14 to 3. Gene gone one hit but struck out for last out with bases loaded. Came home at 6: & got some weinnies & buns & Ray got Jerry & we all went to "Givins" at 8:, after Gene did chores, & met Gail, Lynda, Nancy & Duaine & Kids & Norton & had a swim then built a bon-fire & roasted hot dogs. Gail brought 2 kinds of salad & punch marchmellows & potatoe chips. It was for Norton just getting home from Mission. Got home at 11: & I went to work. Ivard laid down awhile first.

Monday, April 24, 1961

sent Louie & Billie Batt a birthday card.

Hard cold wind.

I came home from work. I changed all the Kids beds & washed 4 batches. ate & read paper.

Me & Jackie went to bed about 2: & Ivard got up & worked on his fence.

I got up at 5:30 & we went & got a window glass for our bed room & a few groc & got Jerry & came home & Ivard put the window in. Ray got supper & we ate & I went to bed. Ivard helped Dean make beds & he came to bed.

Jerry & Ray went to Mutual & Gene did chores & he went to Mutual, Ray came home after him.

Ivard came to bed at 8:30.

We went to work.

Sunday, April 23, 1961

Ivard - Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Priesthood & sunday school. I put a Swiss Steak on with little onions (whole) potatoes, carrots & celery & at 11:50 Ray came & got me & little Kids & we went to sunday school. Ray went home with Smalls & Dean brought Mike home. We ate & Dean did dishes & Jackie & I went to bed & had a nap.

I got up & crocheted awhile.

Gene did chores & Mike went home to do his.

We all went to church.

We came home at 9: & went to bed. Jerry - Gene & Ray went to Fireside.

Ivards nite off.

I got up at 11:30 & went to work for 12:30.

Saturday, April 22, 1961

I got up when Ivard came from work & washed cloths.

Ivard & Dale & Jackie took Genes sow to sale.

I iorned most of day but didn't get one.

Gene went & worked for Doug Pallison painting all day.

Johnso came & took Ray to Merridian to dance festivel practice. Came home at 2:30 & scrubbed & waxed Kitchen.

Jerry came home at noon & worked on his sunday school lesson.

Ivard & I went & got some chicken wire so cats can't get in chickens & picked up Genes pig money & a few groc. Jerry fried chicken & took to Caldwell to Scout leaders banquet he took Rama Wilson. Ray went to dance festival in Merridian. Gene went to Show with Popelton. Dean made fudge & we played Scrabble. My & Ivards nite off.

Friday, April 21, 1961

Jeff. was 2 today

I came home from work & ate & read paper. Ivard was home & in bed.

I washed cloths all morning.

Jackie & I went to bed awhile this afternoon.

At 4: we went up to Ball park & watched Kids get beat.

We had to get fuel oil it's still so cold.

Came home & ate & Ray went to Givins Swimming with Teachers.

Gail & Lynda came a few min. Gail started in on me & I got mad & told him off.

Gene & Kurt went bowling

Watched T.V. awhile & went to bed at 10: Jerry stayed up & helped feed the "Teachers" icecream & cookies when they came from Swimming. My nite off. Ivard went to work at 11:45.

Thursday, April 20, 1961

sent Jeffery birthday card & 1.

I came home from work & Ivard was home & in bed. I ate & read paper & laid on davenport & slept most of time & Jackie watched T.V. Ivard got up at noon & we went to bed.

Ivard got the pen ready for m little chickens & I got up at 4:30 & we went & got 53 N. H. baby chickens & some feeders, waterer & heat lamps & got chickens fixed then we went to ball park & watched Kids get beat by Merridian. We had to sit & waite in cold for 1 hr it was supposed to start at 6: Kids went to Primary.

Went to bed awhile & went to work at 11:, Ivard went at midnite.

Cat got in and ate 25 baby chickens.

Wednesday, April 19, 1961

I came home from work & Ivard was home & in bed so I ate & read paper & sat in big chair & it got so hot I went to sleep. Jackie was watching T.V. I woke up at noon & got up & went to bed & Ivard tended Sis. They came to bed after they had lunch.

I went & got Jerry & we ate & Jerry went out with the full time missionary because his Partner wasn't there yet.

I went to bed until time for work.

Ivard got a regular Job at Nampa midnite.

Tuesday, April 18, 1961

got letter from Irv. & $10. for Kay

Cloudy & windy.

I came home & read paper & made pop corn & washed all the little Kids bedding & Ivard & Jackie went out to our old place & got another load of stuff. when they got back we changed the Kids room around & put up a big bed in there for Ray.

Ray came home at 1: & we ate & Ivard went up town & bought a new plactic mattress cover & a Pad & we made Kids beds.

I went to bed at 2: & Ray woke me up at 6:30 to make gravy & we ate & Jerry & Ray left for meetings & Ivard & I went to bed at 8:30, after I got my books up.

Monday, April 17, 1961

sold our place

Came home from work & read paper & we went up to Tom Gwyhillon's office & signed the papers to sell our place. practically gave it to him. We get $1000. this fall & 1000. worth of hay.

Came home & worked on income tax then went up to State office & he helped me fill out the State. Came back home & Ivard coppied them all & I went to bed at 1: & got up at 3: & we went & took Income Tax's & mailed. & got groc. & gas. Came home & got supper & Ivard went & got Jerry & we ate. Ivard took Ray to church to dance practice on his way after Jerry.

Jerry went to Mutual & we went to bed. Gene went when he got chores done.

Sunday, April 16, 1961

Ivard got home at 7:15 & came to bed. Gene did chores & him, Jerry, Ray, Dean & Dale went to Stake conference. I worked on income tax & had dinner ready when they got home then Jerry - Gene - Ray & Dean went back to conference

I went to bed & had a nap & when I woke up Gail - Lynda & Kids were here. They played ball & we played 2 games of Penochle.

Jerry brought Kids home from conference & went over to Homedale & saw Berniece Yorgeson until 8: We had root beer floats.

Gail went home at 8:30 & we went to bed.

Ivard left for work for 11:

I went to work at 11:45 for 12:30.

Saturday, April 15, 1961

Jerry went to work - & Dean went to Pass hand bills - Gene went to Pour cement & Ray went out & worked for Pinsters, paying for his piano lessons. Ivard went to work at midnite in Nampa.

Kids were all home by noon.

Ivard watched T.V most of day

Jerry came home at noon & ate & went & worked all afternoon for boss's wife doing he flowers & lawn.

I worked on income tax all day & washed some cloths.

Jerry went to Stake conference at Stake house, we took him & got groc. Gene went to high school to Base ball banquet then to Stake dance

Ray went to Scout hobby Show at Armory.

I watched T.V. until it went off the air. My nite off.

Friday, April 14, 1961

I came home from work. Ivard & I & Jackie went up to Holly market & got groc. & I put a pot of baked beans on, ate & read paper.

Mr. Hennis came to see about buying place. I washed cloths & after he left we went to bank paid bills & Ivard got a hair cut then we went to Nampa floural & had my big plant repotted came home at 2:30 & Ivard went to Boise to work & I took Jackie to bed with me for a couple of hrs.

got up & worked on my book & went & got Jerry from work & we ate.

I got books up & crocheted.

I watched T.V. until it went off air. & Ivard came home & watched too.

got letter from Claudia & Jerry
got one from Kay.

I came home from work & ate & read paper then I went up town & laid away $26. worth of pants & shirts for Jerry on sale.

When I got back I went to bed & Ivard & Jackie went out to see Mr. Hennis about buying our place.

Ivard went to Boise to work at 3: & I tended Jackie & washed some cloths.

I took Dale & Jackie to Kotters at 3:15 for Jefferys birthday Party & she took them to Primary. I went to ball game at 4: & at 5: went down & got Kids from Primary & we finished watching ball game, got beat. awful cold wind.

Came home & ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Wednesday, April 12, 1961

rained on & off all day.

I came home from work & took Dean to school, ate & read paper. I went to bed at 9:30 & Ivard & Jackie went out & hauled a load of hay in rain.

Phone woke me up at 11: so I made a batch of no bake cookies & went back to bed at 11:30 Jackie woke me up at 12:30 & I heated some meat pies & Ray came home & we ate & Jackie & I went to bed.

Ivard left for Boise to work at 2:

Tonite Gene, Dale & I went up town & Gene bought him & Jerry some pants on sale & Dale got Jeffrey Kotter a birthay present; got Jerry

Came home & Ray had supper ready. Got books up crocheted awhile & went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home & went to take Dean to school & car wouldn't start so Ivard took him in pick-up & him & Jackie hauled garbage & went out to see Walter Hennis about buying our other place.

I ate & read paper & went to bed at 10:, phone woke me up at 10:30 & at noon but I went right back to sleep I was so tired.

I got up at 2:30 & washed 3 batches cloths & tended Sis & Ivard went to work at 3:

I didn't go to relief society.

Helen came at 4: & took me - Jackie Dean & Dale up to Rodeo Park to ball game. We beat Mountain Home 3 to 2.  Came home & ate at 7: & Ivard came home from work & ate with us & went back again.

Ray went out & took his Piano lesson, went & got Jerry & went to Play Volly ball.

I went to work at 11: Ivard was already home

I came home from work & Ivard was already home. He slept & I changed beds & washed 5 batches of cloths. I went to bed at 12:30 & got up at 3: to finish cloths.

Ray came home & cleaned up the house & got supper & left for Mutual at 6: for dance practice.

Ivard & Jackie & Dale went at 5: to sign for unemployment, get feed & bring Jerry home from work.

We ate & Jerry went to Mutual at 7: & Gene.

I went to bed at 7:30, couldn't get to sleep until after 8:

Ivard watched T.V. awhile & came to bed.

Kids were home & in bed when I got up at 10:30 to go to work.

Sunday, April 9, 1961

no Priesthood or sunday school on account of conference. We watched it on T.V.

Malessia Kotter came & stayed all day while her Dad & MOther went to Jerome.

I crocheted all morning.

Jerry, Gene & Dean, left at 12:30 to go to Nyssa after Ray.

I worked on books all afternoon. Ivard watched ball game this afternoon then conference.

I wrote to Kay (first time) Claudia & Lyle.

Kids came home & they all went to church but Ivard, Jackie & I

Ivard & Jackie had a bath then made a fire in fire place.

I bathed & went to bed until 11: didn't have to go to work until 12:30

Saturday, April 8, 1961

I got up & Ivard had  taken Jerry to work & Dean & Dale up to church to pass hand bills. Ivard got called at 8:15 for 8: so Gene took him.

I washed 2 batches & iorned all morning.

Jerry got off at noon & I went & got him.

Gene went out & got our tractor & got garden plowed. Kurt came & got him at noon & he went & helped his uncle build new house.

Dean & Dale got home at noon.

It rained all afternoon. at 3:30 I took the 2 batches of cloths up & left Dale to watch them at dryer & I went & got Ivard & he changed his shoes & we got Dale & cloths & a few groc & came home & ate, Jerry had it ready.

Ivard, Jerry & Gene went to Stake House to general conference session of Priesthood & the Mormon Tabernacle choir after. Kurt got Gene after & they went bowling. My nite off. crocheted & watched T.V.

Friday, April 7, 1961

My nite off. Ivard didn't work. Gail gave Ivard shirt & socks

Ivard is 46 today. Claudia sent card

He came home from work & took Jerry to work & he went to bed until 1:00

I came home from work & ate & read paper & made 2 German choclate cakes & orange cake for Ivards birthday, He helped frost them when he got up.

I called Jelen & invited them for after ball game.

Ivard went at 1: & him & Jerry got their drivers licence, Jerry got a ticket just before for not having one & running red lite

At 2: Jackie & I went to bed. after I washed & hung out 2 batches of cloths.

Ray came home last Period & fried Chicken & got supper. Ivard got work shoes, white & Hawaian shirt & pr. overalls. I went & got groc. & gas & Jerry before we ate.

Ivard & I & Ray went up to Rodeo Park & saw Borah beat Nampa 4-2 sure cold wind.

Gail & Dean came right after we got there. Came home at 9:30 & Kotters & Kert, Rodger & Gregg came & we had sandwiches, pickles, olives, potato chips, cocoa - cake & sundee's. They went home at 11: & Gail left right after & took Ray.

I came home from work & made a bowl of pop corn & read paper after I took Dean to school.

Ivard tended Jackie all day & I went to bed at 10: I got up at 2:30 & worked on my books & Ivard went to see Lawyer about getting our place back he went & saw Mr. Hennis this afternoon & he will rent the ground.

Jackie was asleep & when she woke up I took er to Primary. Kids got out of school early 3:

I went & got groc. & Ivard some birthday presents then picked Kids up & came home & helped get supper & got books up.

We ate & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I called Stockman at 8:45 & Ivard came home & him & Kids went & played Volly Ball. He went to work for 11: & I left at 11:

Jerry started work at Nampa Paint & Glass

Ivard to home at 7: from work and took Jerry to his first days work at 8: He was home again when I got home & him & Jackie had a bath & he went to bed until 1:30.

I washed 2 batches of cloths & hung out and crocheted on my bed spread & ate pop corn & read paper.

I went to bed when Ivard got up. I woke up at 7: & Ivard had gone hunting some one to rent our old place so we wont loose it & they had eaten supper & Gene was doing chores.

Ray made cracker Jack corn & I had some & Jackie & I went to bed at 8:

Ivard got home at 10:45. & I went to work at 11:

Ivard didn't work today.

Jerry liked his job.

I came home from work & had pop corn & read paper then I went to bed at 10:

Jerry washed cloths & made 3 lime pies & He woke me up at 3: to take him up to unemployment office, they called him to come in about a job. I was just going to take him when Kurt  & Gene came, got out early on account of ball game, so they took him. He got a job at Nampa Paint & Glass, starting in morning

I cooked supper & we ate when they got back. Ivard was out hunting some one to rent our old place so we won't loose it.

Gene went to Caldwell to play their first legue game & got beat. Jerry went to faculty meeting & Ivard & Ray took a load of Kids to Middleton & played Volley ball got home at 10:30 & Ivard went to work. I went at 11:

got up & got Kids off to school & read paper then I went up town to Pennys sale & got $34. worth of cloths for Kids.

Jerry washed clothes all day & cleaned up house.

I came home at noon and iorned all afternoon, but didn't get half done.

Ivard went to see about getting some one to rent our farm & we won't loose it.

We ate & the lawyer came.

I crocheted.

Gene, Ray, & Jerry went to Mutual after they did chores

I went to bed at 8: I had to go back to work tonite.

Ivard didn't work today.

Sunday, April 2, 1961

Kids got easter baskets

Jerry - & Ray went to Priesthood sunday school & Testimony meeting.

Ivard stayed home & went to bed when he came from work.

I dressed Jackie in her easter outfit & took her, Dean & Dale & went to sunday school & fast meeting. got home at 3: & Gail Lynda & Kids were here & brought Gene home. I stuffed eggs & we had a picnic lunch.

Ivard & Gail took a bed & table out home to stay, lawyer told us if we did we could get half our money back. They locked it up & came in to eat & Bish's came mad as hops when Ivard  got back out there they'd broke lock off so we went to see lawyer & he came to house to look at our deeds. no church tonite. My nite off.

Saturday, April 1, 1961

Ivard did chores & we ate. I spent most of day makeing curtains for Kitchen & getting them up. Ivard & I went up & bought some hose to water cows. Kids helped me plant a row of roses & we didn't have enough so Dean & I went up to store & got some more We planted a row by drive way & 3 climbers & a bed of chrys. Mrs. Kotter gave us. We ate & Ray cleaned up house Ivard did chores & we watched T.V.

I crocheted until 11:30.
