Sunny & hot 74° _ cloudy tonite

I got up at 6:30 & read paper & made Genes lunch & got him off to work & Kids off to school.  Wshed my hair & iorned 6 blouses for Jackie by hand had shower & at 9:45 Jackie & I went to relief Society; after we went to bank, & got $35. worth of groc. came home at 1: & had lunch & Jackie had a nap & I iorned me a dress I had to do by hand & washed a batch of cloths & hung out.

Jerry went to work at D.q. 11: to 6:

I sent to Hays for me 3 house dresses

at 2:45 Jackie & I went to her dancing lesson then up to D.q & had drink & waited for Jerry.

Came home & Dean had supper ready & cloths in.  We ate & I got books up & Jerry got ready & went to M_Men & gleaners.

Monday, April 29, 1963

Sunny & nice

I got up & fixed Gene a lunch & he went to work for Wally ally day.  Kids went to school & I washed 4 batches cloths.

Jerry & I bagged up the rest of my pennys & him & Jackie took them to bank & put Kays money in & got some stuff for lunch & we had lunch then I iorned all afternoon, got all through but 2 or 3 things I have to do on board.  Jackie and Jerry had a nap.

Jerry fixed supper & we ate at 5: then he went to store for me & got groc.  Dean did dishes & I got books up.

Jerry went to work at D.q. 6: to close

Ray had a nap then him & Dean went to Mutual.

Gene never got home until nearly 9: he worked 12 hrs today.  He ate & Had a bath & we watched T.V.  He went up to D.q. for awhile.

Ray droped Dean off after Mutual & went up to D.q & worked for hr. went to bed at 11:

I let hem out & hememed Jackies Nylon dress by hand.

Sunny & nice - just a little breeze.

I got up & everyone had eaten Gail brought some mush, milk & bread.  I read paper & worked on puzzle.

Gene, Ray & Dean went to priesthood & Jerry went to work at D.q. 11: to 5:

Ray brought Gene home & took Dale & Jackie to sunday school, I washed her hair & she had a bath & got ready she had to give Sacrament gem.

Gene & Gail watched ball game.

Gail left about 12:45 they were invited to their friends for dinner.

I cooked dinner & we ate at 2: when Kids got home then Gene & Ray went away awhile.

Jackie & I had nap.

Ray went to work at D.q. 5: to 10:

Jerry took Dean & Dale to church my eyes are so pussy & burn so I didn't feel like going & I have head ache.

Gene, Jackie & I watched T.V. & went to bed about 10: after Kids got home,

Jerry went to Fireside then to Pats for Petsa & never got home until 2 A.M.

Gail came & stayed all nite

Sunny-cloudy-real hard cold wind.

I finished going through my collection & Ivard baged pennies for me.  I washed a bunch of cloths

Mrs Kotter came & cut my hair & visited awhile & I showed her my collection.  She left Millissa stay & play all afternoon.  Ivard watched ball games most of day.  Dean did up some of work. Ray worked at D.q. 9:30 to 6:

Jerry got home from Temple about 8: & went up & worked until 10:

Gene worked for Wally all day, came home for lunch.

I cooked supper & we were just eating at 5: when Gail & Family came.  They visited until about 7:30 then went to see some friends & came back about 10:30 & stayed all nite.

Ivard got mad & left for Twin Falls at 6:45, should have left sooner.  Went without any money.  I don't know where he thinks I keep getting any when he had all their was pay day, acts like a little Kid.

I watched T.V. & went to bed at 10: Ray got mad at me because I wouldn't let him take car, called me names & stormed out.  Went to bowling alley

Jerry went on Temple excursion to Idaho F

cloudy all day, hard wind started about 7: P.M.

Gene went to work for 7:30 A.M, was gone when I woke up.

I read paper in bed & got up & worked on collection all day, going through 10,000 pennies, didn't get through.  Jerry helped me bag.

Ivard got up & went Squirrl hunting until noon with Dusty Rhodes then took the universal joint out of Genes car & went & got new part on it & fixed it back. $17.

Gene came home for lunch.

Jerry went up town on business this morning, & to store for me tonite.

Dean fixed supper, waffles.

Jerry & Ray went to work at D.q. at 6: Ray to close & Jerry until 10:

I got books up.  Gene got home at 7:

Ivard wouldn't play Scrabble or talk or watch anything on T.V. but what he wanted so I got mad & stayed in bed room, laid down awhile then he came to bed so I got up & watched T.V. & at 9:45 I went up to D.q to get Jerry but his friend was there so I had hamberger & drink & came home.  He came right after & got ready & they went up town to eat before they left on bus at midnite for Idaho Falls Temple excursion.

I changed my bed & washed it & bedspread.

Ivard went over to work corn ground on their place until 3: then I had to go get him.

Gene started for Wally for summer.  Went at 8: till dark came home 1 hr for dinner

Jerry went up to bank for me & got 2 bags Pennies $100. 10,000 to go thru for my collection, I did that all after noon & tonite.

Ray came home from school & took Sis to Primary & waited for them.  Jerry got supper & they ate at 5:15 when Kids came & Ray took Dean & Dale out to Hurrens to Piano lesson.

Ray went to work 8: to 10:

Ivard went Squirll hunting with Dusty Rhodes & didn't get home for supper, I ate with him when he came.  We watched T.V. Ivard & I rode up to D.q. & had drink at 10:30 then went to bed after we made our bed.

I read paper in bed then got up when Kids went to school and washed 2 batches of cloths and iorned most of day, still didn't get through

Jerry went up town on business awhile, then he & Gene went up to D.q & got us a drink

Gene went away awhile then he mowed the lawn.

Jerry fixed supper.

When Dean got home I took him to Cub Scouts.

Jerry fixed supper.

Ivard got home from Twin Falls about 6: & ate.

Jerry worked 6: to 10:

Ivard & I went up to D.q & had a drink & rode up town to see what show was, nothing we wanted to see.  came home & watched T.V.

I went after Dean after cub Scouts & Dale had never showed up or come home from school so I drove down to Garners & there he was playing, gave him a licking.

I got up & had a shower & got ready & went to relief society.  I gave opening prayer.  Mrs Hurren gave lesson & it was real good.  I was home by noon.  Gene tended Sis.

Jerry went to work at D.q. 11: to 6:

I worked on puzzle this after noon.

I took Jackie to dance practice at 3:15 & it was 5:30 when we got out so we went to D.q. & had a drink & waited until Jerry got off.  Gene brought Ray up to work at 6: to close.

Dean had supper ready & we ate.

Jerry went to M-Men Gleaner party & Gene went to show with Larry Adams.  I watched T.V. & went to bed at 11:

I changed all the Kids beds and washed 4 or 5 batches of cloths.  I spent most of the day in between working on a contest Puzzle.

Jerry was up town all morning he brought us a hamberger & drink home for lunch.

Jerry & Dean made the beds

We had supper & Gene & Ray did dishes.

Jerry went to work at D.q. 6: to close and Ray & Dean went to Mutual.

I worked on puzzle awhile then watched T.V. awhile

I went to bed early, I still don't feel very good.

I read paper & worked cross word puzzle in bed.

Jerry & Deal went to priesthood & Jerry came home & took Dale & Jackie to sunday school.  I have such a cold in my head I didn't try to go.  Gene watched ball game.

Ray went to work at D.q. 11: to 5: & Jerry went 5: till 10:45

Jerry fixed dinner & we ate & Dean did dishes & Dale, then Dale made a batch of ginger snaps.

I worked on cross word puzzle most of day.  I went up & Had a drink at D.q about 6: then Jerry gave me one when I went after him at 10:30

Sunny _ cloudy _ windy_ snow flurries

I couldn't sleep all nite I had such a cold in my head & sinus.

Ray left at 7:30 A.M to go to Caldwell to take A.C.T. tests to go to college.  got home about 1:

Jerry went to work at D.q. 9:30 to 6:

Ivard took me to store at 9:30 & I got groc. & medecine for my cold & Clairol for my hair.

Dean scrubbed & cleaned up the house.

I washed a couple of batches & played one game Scrabble with Dean & one with Dale.

Ivard & Gene watched ball game on T.V then they went up to N.N.C. & watched a double header of Ricks & B.J.C. Kurt played.

I cooked steak & frozen peas & made banna pudding & we had mashed potatoes & sliced tomatoes.  We ate at 5:

Ivard took bull to sale $119.  to pay Cor Ins.

Ivard left for Twin Falls to work for week at 6:30

Ray took Maryln Butler to Junior Prom.

Jerry went to councile meeting.

Kids went to school & I got up & read paper & watched a couple shows then I iorned all morning and washed some cloths & baked 4 loaves bread.

Jerry went to work at D.q. 11: to 4:30 then came home & went back 6 to 8:30 Ray worked 6: to close.

We made chilli for supper & had with hot bread.

Ivard & I & Gene played Scrabble all afternoon & watched T.V.

I have an awful cold in my head and don't feel very good.

Gene went away awhile when he took Dean up to church at 6:30 to go Swimming at Givins with Scouts

I went to bed early & Ivard & Jackie came in a little while.

Simplots went down for summer.

Cloudy then sunny_ not very cold

We got laid off for summer.  Came home & read paper & went to bed until noon then washed a batch of cloths & played Ivard a game of Scrabble.

When Jerry got home from doing M-Men gleaner business Ivard took him up to get hair cut & left him & he walked home then took me to sign up for unemployment & I got a few groc. & pd P.F.c with my check. Came home & got Jackie ready & we went & met Ray at school & took Sis to Primary then we went up to Nafingers & bought Ray a new suit for $59.  He got it on 30 day charge, until he gets his income tax refund.  We went & ordered him a coursage for Junior Prom & got Kids from Primary & came home & ate.  Jerry had it all ready.

Ivard & I took Dean & Dale out to Hurrens for Piano lessons & played Scrabble while we waited.  Jerry went to work at 6: to close.

Gene took Dale up to church to get his books he forget & took Ray to work at D.q. 7: to 10:

Ivard got home from Twin Falls for 2 day off

got quite cold last nite.  sunny & breezy & nice today.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:30.

Gene worked out on yard all day, getting garden ready.

Jerry washed Rays bed then went with missionaries all afternoon.

I woke up at 2: & fixed lunch for Gene & Jackie & I then Gene drove me up to bank & ailed some letters.  closed out my secret savings account 107.50 to pay car Ins. Had 300. in it a month ago.

I wrote Kay a letter & mailed it

Jerry fixed supper & he went to work at D.q. 6: to close.

Ivard got home from T.F at 5:30 for his 2 day off.

Jerry fixed supper & we ate before he went to work.

Ray & Dean went ward teaching

Ivard, Jackie & I went to bed I got up at 10:30 & got ready & went to work.

Ivard got bumped out of Glenns Ferry & went to Twin Falls.

snowed a little during nite, sunny & cloudy today. warm.

I came home & read paper & went to bed at 9:40.  I got woke up at 1: & got up & washed a batch of cloths & watched Sis practice dance.  got ready & took Sis to dance at 3:15, got home at 5:15.

Jerry went up town on business then he went to work 2: to 6: Ray went up at 6: & they had birthday party for Mr. Johnson.

Ivard got bumped out of Glenns Ferry & left on 8:25 train for Twin Falls, has to work at 7: AM in morning then has Thursday_ & Friday off, he took relief job.  I rode up to rail road with him to make arrangements

Dean made hot cakes for supper.

I went to bed at 7: till time to go to work.

Jerry went to M_ Men & Gleaners he was home before I went to work.

got letter from Mother, shes had flue.

I got up & washed 3 batches of cloths & watched shows, read paper in bed.

Ivard got home about 10: with his check & I figured it out & made out payments & Ivard & I & Jackie went up to bank, store, & paid bills & mailed payments.

Came home at 1: & ate lunch & got my books up and we played Scrabble.

Jerry fixed supper & we ate when all the Kids got home from school.  Phil came & him & Ray went up & rented a dinner Jacket for Junior Prom.

Dean did dishes & I got my diary up & at 6: Jerry went to work at D. q. until close.  Ray took him up, had to see Mr. Johnson.

I went to bed at 6: until time to go to work, got up at 10:20 and got ready.

cloudy all day but warm.  real windy this afternoon for a while and broke limbs off trees & power Kept going off.

I dont feel good, read paper in bed

Jerry, Ray_ Dean & Dale went to Stake Conference at 8:45 in pick-up.  Ivard got home not long after.

I made potatoe salad, stuffed eggs, punch & had dinner all on table when they got home at 12:30.  We ate & Jerry_ Gene Ray, Dean, Dale & Jackie went to conference & Ivard & I went to bed.  I have such a head ache.  I got up when Kids came & we watched T.V.

Ray went to work at D.q. 6: to 10:

Jerry went to M_Men Gleaner Fireside after conference, got home 11:10.

Ivard got up at 9:30 & went back to G.F. to work.

Gene came home

Sunny & nice today. rained tonite

I came home from work & read paper & washed a batch of cloths & went to bed until noon then got up & cahnged my bed & washedit and Dean helped me make it again.  I washed 4 batches today & socks.

Ivard came home from Glenns Ferry today & went to bed this afternoon.

got Ins. for Ray being in hospital from work & went up town & spent it all on groc. & filled the car with gas for Ivard.

I bought $58. worth of groc. & came home & cooked ham roast for tomorrow & potatoes & eggs for salad.

Jerry worked 9:3 to 6: at D.q. & Ray worked 12: to 10:30.

Dean went up town with me & had hair cut.  I cooked supper, hambergers & trimmings & we ate when Jerry got home.

Dean scrubbed & cleaned up house

Ivard drove my car to Glenns Ferry tonite & left at 9:30.

We watched T.V. & went to bed at 10:30 when Ray got home & he stayd up.  Gene got home.

Cloudy all day_ not cold.

Ivard got a ride up & was here & to bed before I got up

I got up at 9: & read paper & washed my robe & mixed bread, baked 4 loaves.

No school today _ Kids played games mostly

Ivard got up at noon & we played 3 games Scrabble then went back to bed at 2:30.  Ray went & bought us all a dish of pineapple sherbert & sweet rolls.

Ray went to work at 2:30 to 6: Jerry took him up then came back & I sent him up with my & Ray State income tax & to turn Rays foot Ins papers in to hospital.

I cooked supper & we ate at 5:15

Jerry went to work at D.q., 6: to close, & Ray came home & ate & got ready & went to a Party at Bishop Perry's.

I went to bed & went back to work tonite at 11:10.

I read paper.  Ivard got a ride home from Glenns F. so he came home.  I fixed him, me, Jerry & Gene Bacon sandwich.  Ivard went to bed.

I washed rugs & clothes, 3 batches.

I spent most of day finishing up my Income taxes, got all done.

Jerry_ Gene & Jackie went & got me a drink then went to Caldwell, & got groceries.  They got home about same time Ivard got up at 2:45.

Ivard took Jackie to Primary and got some syrup & Dean made waffles for supper and we ate after Gene went & got Kids then Ivard & I took Dean & Dale to Hurrens for Piano lessons & played Scrabble while we waited.

Gene took Jerry up to work at D.q. 6: to close & he went on to Weiser for few days.  Ray went to work at D.q. 8: to 10:

I laid off again.  watched T.V. until it went off air.  Jerry brought me home a sundee.

I got up after Kids went to school & read paper.  I don't feel good.

Washed some cloths.

I spent most of the day working on my income tax.

Ivard, Gene & Jerry just laid around all day watching T.V. & made Pop Corn.

Jerry cooked supper & we ate at 5:

Jerry & Ray both went to work at Dairy q. 6: to close.

Dean & Gene did dishes & Dale put away cloths.

We watched T.V. until Ivard left for work at Glenns Ferry at 10:20, rode with some guy, then we went to bed.

I laid off, too sick to go to work.

Jerry & Ray got home at 11:30.

Jackie didn't go to dancing-We went to Weiser.

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:30.

Jerry went to work at Dairy q. 11: to 6:

Gene & Ivard worked outside, triming Berries & trees ect.

I got up at noon & couldn't go back to sleep but laid there for awhile.

at 3: we went & got gas & picked Dale & Dean up from school & Gene went & got Ray then we all went up to D.q. & had a drink then we went to Weiser to see Gail.

We had a good birthday supper for Ivard & Lynda's birthday, had a cake with 48 candles on for Ivard.

After we played 3 games Penochle then played games with Kids.

Gail called home to Jerry & had him Call & lay me off.  I was sick (monthly) & had an ear ache.

We got home from Gails at 1: A.M.

Jerry came home from work & went to M_ Men & Gleaners with Mrs. Murry.  He was in bed when we got home.

Ivards birthday, he was 48 today he got a rie home from Glenns F. & drove my car back tonite.

Ray was sick in bed all day so Jerry had to work for him at D.q. 2: to 6: & from then to 10:45 for himself.

We listened to conference (General.

Ivard went to bed.

Jerry_Dean, Dale & Jackie went to Sunday s., no priesthood.

I cooked dinner.  Ray sent Gene up to get the 3 of us a drink at D.q.

Gene made Ivard a cake.  We ate about 4: Ivard & I took Jerry to work at 2: & Ivard bought us all a drink.

We gave Ivard 2 pr. garments & a socket wrench set.

About 5: we went up to Stinker & filled car with gas so Ivard could go to work, it really rained on us.

Dean & Dale went to church with Smalls & Ivard went to bed until 9:30 then left at 10: for G. F.

We watched T.V.

Saturday, April 6, 1963

Stormey- rained torents this afternoon.

I came home from work & Ivard came from Glenns Ferry & we went to bed awhile.  I got up at noon.

Jerry went to work at D.q. 9:30 to 6: Dean did up the work.

I washed cloths.

Ray was supposed to go to work at D.q today but he was sick in bed all day.

I went out to yorgensens & got Ivard 2 pr. garments for his birthday after I went up to D.q & got me & Ray a drink.  I stoped at Kotters & traded her a Gold S. stamp book for S&H. gabbed for about hr. came home & got Dean & Dale & Sis & went & traded Venice a book & we went & got Ivard a Socket wrench for his birthday with 4 Stamp books.  got a few groc. & came home & Ivard, Dale & Jackie went to store.

Ivard took Dale up to school to be in talent show & I got supper & we ate then Ivard & Jackie went up to Hobby Show, they got home about 7: & Ivard went to bed until 9:30 then went to G.F.

My nite off.  Jerry. Gene & Dean went to Stake House to Priesthood conference.

Stormy _ rained most of nite (Sat. morning

I came home from work & read paper & went to bed at 9:30 & got woke up at 12: I got up & we watched conference.

Gene & I went up town this afternoon & I drew my last $13.75 out of my Savings account & put 7. in bank & sent Oregon Farmer Ins.

Jerry cooked supper & we ate when Kids got home from school.  Dean did dishes.

Jerry went to work at D.q. 6: to close Ray was supposed to but he was sick.

Gene took Dean up to Kellogs for his sunday school class party he got home about 10:30.

I went to bed at 7: but had gas & never did get to sleep.  I went to work at 11:15, it rained hard all nite tonite.

Sunny & real nice & warm

I came home & read paper & went to bed at 9:20.  Jerry woke me up at 1:15 to eat, he'd been to dairy queen & got us a hamberger & to store & got buns & punch.  He got some groc & stuff for supper.

Gene spent all morning & afternoon rakeing back yard, getting sod & stuff off, ready to plant.

My pay day but only got $11. this time.  I went up & paid a dollar on each of my 2 Penny laways & got some soap to wash.

Jerry cooked supper. & went to work at D.q. 6: to close.  Ray had to work 8: to 10:

Wednesday, April 3, 1963

Sunny & warmer

I came home from work & ate & read paper & went to bed at 9:30, woke up at 1:30 & ate dish soup & got diary up.  Ivard had gone up town to see about ticket & Jerry had been gone all morning, Gene didn't know where.

Ivard & Gene pulled out the 3 Cherry trees & plowed & leveled up the back yard for lawn & garden.

Jerry got home about 4: from Boise.

I fixed supper.

Ivard went up town & was going to charge an expensive socket-wrench, for his birthday, at Wards & it bought our payment up so he got mad & went to loan co. & arranged to get a loan & pay them off & get him some extra money.  I got mad & said I wouldn't sign He acts like a Kid.  I went to bed at 6: & laid there until 9: but he never even came & told me goodbye.  Gene took him up at 9: to depot to ride back to Glenns Ferry for week, with some guy. Jackie came to bed & I slept until time to go to work.

I came home from work & ate & read paper & watched couple of programes & went to bed at 9:45., I woke up at 1:45. & got books up.

Jerry went to Melba Kuna all morning & took a load of M_Men & Gleaners to a funeral.

At 3:15 Jackie & I went to dancing when we got home at 5:30 Jerry had supper ready & we ate.

Jerry didn't have to work today he went to M-Men & Gleaners tonite.  Ray spent all evening studying.

Dale went selling tickets for his school hobby show, hes sold 38 so far.

I went to bed at 6:30 & Ivard & Jackie had a bath & came to bed about 8:

Ivard & Gene went out to farm & got tractor & started plowing back yard up for garden & lawn.

I went to work at 11:15-Jerry was home & rest of them in bed.  Ivard got up & watched show.

Ivard got home from Glenns Ferry about 11: for his 2 days off.  I figured out what to do with his check & He took me up town & we paid place, & bills & went to bank & got a few groc. came home & brought some orange j & Hershey bars & we ate them & Ivard, Gene & I played a game of Scrabble.

Ivard went to bed a couple of hrs. & I worked on my books

I helped Jerry get supper & we ate at 5:30.
